DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. A-1 Distributors took the liberty of scheduling my delivery of conference room chairs during a window of 4p and 7p without speaking with me, our office hours are 8a to 5p. I stayed, because we needed them delivered, and was here waiting until 8:30p but the driver was a no-show and a no call. The business was closed at that point, so I could not contact anyone that evening. I tried to call them the next morning and see if they can come back that week but the manager, Tianna, refused, telling me it was our fault, and that the driver WAS there AND called but he couldn't get through a gate. We don't have a gate… it’s a driveway up to our business, which we could have explained if the driver had called. She emailed me the "proof" of attempted call and delivery, with the apparent GPS way-points, which when I tried to click on them took me to a blank web page. The "proof" of a call was a note the driver made saying the phone number was called and answered, however I was sitting by the phone waiting for the call and none came in. We really needed the chairs this week which was why we stayed 3 1/2 hours past close of business waiting on the delivery and paying for overtime. I tried to call the parent company, ***, who told me the same story. When I asked to be transferred to the corporate office, the customer "service" woman sent me to a number that disconnected me. After calling *** again we were then told that someone would call Monday to schedule a time to deliver the chairs. The next week we received the call, but not to schedule - the time was already scheduled - again. For between 3p and 6p. Even though it was noted on our account that we close at 5p, AND I told them several times that we close at 5p. I don’t mind staying late, but they were already a no-show the last time. If I were to “re-schedule” (we never “scheduled anything”…) then it would be ANOTHER week. Since it was a week late already, I stayed late and after calling a couple times to make sure they were coming, they showed up. However, they were just going to leave them on the two pallets outside of the office even though I had specified when I placed the order that we needed them delivered inside. After arguing for a bit they agreed to bring them in, but then left a bunch of garbage and pallets in the parking lot.

My first mistake was ordering a large appliance from the east coast to save a little money. That company contracts with A-1 for delivery to Portland, OR. It took two A-1 customer service reps and 30 min of my time on the phone to find a delivery time I could be available for. The actual delivery was in the agreed upon window, but the delivery guys tried to re-charge my husband for the old appliance haul away (which I prepaid on the phone but they claimed to have no record of). Then they refused to remove the shipping packaging even though we paid extra for that with the retailer. Of course A-1 said "we don't do that" and the retailer said "that's not our fault" and kept my money, so I'm left out a $99 white glove delivery fee and with a pile of styrofoam on my deck.

This company uses a generic automated telephone notification system. I paraphrase, “we have a pick up or delivery for you scheduled between the hours of .........”. I have been notified three times in this manor. 1st notification: I thought it was for delivery of a loveseat ordered a month before. A1 showed up and said they were there to pick up a sofa. I had never received a sofa because that sofa order was cancelled two weeks before. They sent a truck from Kent,WA, 2 + hours from me to pick up an order I had never received. 2nd notification: same generic call. Thought it was again for the loveseat I had ordered. It was supposed to be delivered between 1:00 and 5:30. They never showed up. I called to find out what was going on. They apologized and said that they received the manifest but not the product and they would do a dock search and call me back. They never called me. I called them again and was informed they found the loveseat and it would be delivered the next day. Waited all day and there was no delivery. I called them again. They claimed the loveseat was never delivered to them and oh “ we’re sorry we didn’t call you to let you know the dock search was one number off...” whatever that means. All I know is I still do not have a loveseat and no clue when it will be delivered.

I had a delivery of my washer/dryer unit scheduled on 12th dec between window of 3pm to 7pm.
I was in touch with driver until 3.30PM and he left without delivering the equipment. I kept calling him at (425-728-9594 ) and his office at Phone: (888) 579-4628 but Driver didn't bother to wait 5/10 more minutes and left without delivering and texted me back at 3.45PM that he is driving so can't pick up the phone.
Today morning when I called the office for delivery they are asking 75$ as a redelivery fee.
My concerns are:
1. I was not notified by driver in advance that he is on the way and will be there to deliver in 30 mins or an hour etc...
2. The delivery window was 3 to 7PM and I was ready to pick up the delivery at 3.35 but he left
3. even if he wanted to leave he should have dropped the equipment outside as he was simply there to deliver not assemble the equipment.
4. why should I pay 75$ when driver purposefully left the premises within 10 mins when I was in touch with him and his boss.

A-1 Distribution Response

After review, protocol was followed as per SOP’s. Please have customer call us to schedule re-delivery. Please be aware the customer was in contact through the whole time. Infact, the customer was trying to wake up his wife a few times throughout multiple conversations. Nonetheless, let’s take care of business and satisfy the customer needs and complete the job.
