A B C Professional Tree Services

This company is doing line-clearing work for my power company near my home. On the morning of Wednesday, [redacted], as they were working on my street, there was a loud "BOOM" outside, and the power flashed off and back on. It was a calm, sunny day -- we knew it must have been caused by something the workers did. A little while later, my husband and I noticed an electrical burning smell, and realized it was coming from my laptop computer. The computer never came back on again. I took it to a repair place who told me that it could not be repaired -- I would have to get a new computer. Since this was obviously caused by the the outage that happened that morning, I called the power company, who informed me that they did show an outage occurring that morning on their log, that it was caused by ABC Tree, that they (the power company) were not responsible, and that I would have to take the matter up with ABC Tree. Since then, both my husband and I have spoken to many different people, both from the power company and the tree company, and have gotten "the run-around" for the past 6 weeks. I have been speaking with the representative from ABC Tree, a [redacted] Whipple, on and off, by phone. He confirmed receiving a letter from the power company's insurance company, which states that they have determined that ABC Tree is responsible. He also has received a copy of the power company's log and map showing when and where the outage occurred. However, he is denying responsibility based on the fact that a gentleman from the power company came out to our house and talked with my husband, and this gentleman wrote in his notes that my husband said the outage occurred at around noon on that day, when it actually happened at around 10:00am. That's it! That's what he's basing his denial on! (For the record, my husband did NOT say that it happened at noon, he said that it may have been around then when we noticed the burning smell)
