Review: [redacted] was supposed to refinish a wood floor in four separate rooms in a rental property in Sparta. [redacted] promised that he would remove the baseboard, plug 13 holes, sand with a drum sander, use an edger along the walls, apply a coat of stain, and apply two coats of varnish... sanding in between coats. He was paid in full, and after a couple days I was able to go to the home and inspect his work after the floor was dry. I was shocked by the findings. The floors were repeatedly burned and gouged by the floor sander and an edger was never used along the walls. The baseboard was never removed. The stain was applied in a terribly inconsistent manner, and the floor was as rough as sandpaper. Only one coat of varnish was applied and there was no sanding. The sawdust from the project was deposited along the house on the lawn. The windows in the house had been left open for days in bitter cold temps leaving the furnace to run continuously. The 13 holes were never plugged. The lockbox on the front door was not returned and he left the home a mess. He refused to return phone calls, texts, mail, and would not answer his door. The floor was in worst shape then before he started. [redacted] is under supervision for two counts of construction theft and a myriad of other offenses such as crack cocaine. I regret deeply giving him a chance.Desired Settlement: The floors need to be completely re-sanded and we are looking for a full refund of $1400.
