They overcharge you after a quote and lie about refunding
After having used Awesco in the past for septic needs, I'm utterly shocked at what happened this time around.

I called asking for a septic pump quote for my home that they had serviced before. I was quoted $520, with a $20 charge, equaling out to $560.
They scheduled me a few days out.

Boy was I surprised when my card was charged $677.71.

Idk about you, but if you quote someone, you don't add on additional charges to snake the customer out of money. You be upfront about your pricing so that your company isn't looked at it a negative way.

After calling Bob at the office and asking what happened, he became hostile and tried justifying his fees that they never mentioned in the quote, such as a $15 fuel surcharge fee, a 2% credit card fee that was never mentioned, a filter cleaning fee of $35.

Had I know of these fees, I would have easily of picked another provider.

After explaining that I called for a quote and that they have serviced my home in the past without having a bunch of added fees, and then Bob replying with "I'm the cheapest in the valley"( NEWSBREAK! HE'S NOT! Try SKY VALLEY PUMPER FOR $580 and not a bunch of extra fees.) he finally relented and said he would credit back the fees.

NARRATOR: HE DIDNT!

So not only do they lie about quotes and then overcharge me after the service is done, Bob then lies about crediting me back. REAL CLASSY BOB!

After having these guys service my home for years, I'll warn everyone now they are absolutely going to scam you the moment they get a chance. A bunch of lying, greed and deception.

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE THESE GUYS. YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY REGRET IT.

Plenty of other great service providers out there in the valley who won't rip you off. BEWARE!

Driver did not pump my septic but put a hose down and told me I had a back flush problem. When I said I was going to get a second opinion, he threatened to turn me I. To the county and charged me a $311.04 service call.

I had my septic pumped today by another company and everything is in good working order

I feel Awesco tried to take advantage of me because I am a woman, a senior and my husband has had a stroke.

We had a pumper/tech out to pump septic tank on 8/27/19 and the pumper noticed that there was an issue around the

outlet baffle so he tried to show the home owner what he was talking about by adding water to the tank.

As he suspected, the effluent began to exit around the outlet baffle and outside the tank instead of going out the outlet pipe to the drain field.

The pumper explained to the home owner that this was an easy fix by patching around the outlet baffle but the home owner not only declined the repair but

declined pumping of the tank at time of service. Home owner agreed to pay for the service call which included the cleaning of the filter.

A video was made of the effluent exiting the tank around the outlet baffle and later sent to the homeowner.

A report has also been filed with the Snohomish County Health District stating:

"We have video of water level high in tank and outlet baffle is not functioning correctly. Home owner declined septic pumping and repairs"

A Wesco is unclear why the homeowner is in denial with video evidence documenting what we found or why she is requesting the money she paid be returned as

she had put a stop payment on the check.

I am rejecting this response because:i got a second opinion from another septic company who did pump the tank and I did not have a problem. This company is using fraudulent tactics to scare homeowners, women and seniors.

I usually don't write reviews, but I few obligated to share my horrible experience with A Wesco Septic. I bought a house in Woodinville 11/2017 and A Wesco had contract with the seller to replace the septic system and install brand new for almost 30K. After they finished the project the entire yard right in front of the house was looking like unfinished project and the woods near the house had brunches all over thrown on the ground. However, I accepted that and decided to fix it during spring time. Worst part was when January we smelled really bad odor coming from the septic and we start calling our real estate agents and they told us to talk directly with A Wesco. Here is where the drama started with over 20 calls in last 6 months including discussions with Luis ( Owner I think ) who promised to send someone and never pick the phone again for the next month. Then when I called the phone number from Internet, they have no idea about anybody coming and my day OOF I took is screwed again and again. At this point my only option is getting attorney and deal true them with the company. I am really surprised and not really trusting all positive comments this company has so far.

Awesco came to my home to emergency service my septic pump, which they had recently installed in September of 2016. The pump stopped working 1 1/2 years later, and was under manufacturers warranty. They installed a legacy pump at the time, which was manufactured in August of 2015, so when the pump was installed it was already on the shelf over 13 months prior to installation. The pump failed on April 17, 2018 only slightly over a year and half into service. When the technician pulled the pump, he tried to make like the issue was with the septic system. I spoke to Kevin in customer service, he said he would honor the pump warranty and the next day came out to install it on April 18th, 2018. Once the new pump was installed the technician tried to walk the property to inspect the leach field, which was not in scope for this pump replacement project. The customer, me signed for a pump replacement only, not for additional out of scope work to be done. I asked the technician to stop walking the property - he did not respect my request and walked it anyway. When he came back down, he indicated that unless he inspects the leach field he will not honor the pump installation of the warranty on the replaced pump. I called Kevin in customer service, he stated the same thing and hung up. The service invoice and form I signed was for a pump replacement only, nothing else was in scope. AWESCO did not honor the legal contract between me and them, and I am submitting a complaint against them and will be seeking legal advise as well.

A Wesco Septic Service Response • May 16, 2018

We installed a new pump on 9-15-16. There is a one year manufactures warranty on the pump, that would cover the pump itself and not the labor. The pump was out of warranty. We replaced the pump under warranty and included the labor. He told our technician that he was not the owner. It is industry standard to test the pump. His pump is pumping slow because he needs drain field work. His drain field is partially plugged and not pumping as fast as it should. We should not have warrantied his pump.

1. The pump was out of warranty.

2. We warrantied the pump and labor on a pump that was out of warranty, and still got a complaint?

3. He just didn't wan't to spend any money, for any reason and when we tested the pump, he got really upset.

Customer Response • May 16, 2018

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: The pump was under warranty and the pump delivered originally to my home that was under warranty was installed knowing it was already 1 year old on the shelf before installation. I have proof that the original pump installed was in fact a year old before it was installed into my pump chamber. The initial pump was not NEW - it was an old shelved unit. Fact! Ask them yourself!

AWESCO had no choice but to replace the pump as they knew it was old in the first place, had I asked another vendor to come out instead of them, they would have quickly realized this and it would only have served to (open up a liability case in the first place) against AWESCO for installing a old pump in the first place.

In regards to the replacement pump, they came out the first time - did the emergency visit and did not even bring a pump, I had to wait an additional day to get the pump - which was quite irresponsible of them as it was an EMERGENCY VISIT in the first place. When they came out, they went through the whole installation and then after all was done, they tried to survey my leach field without authorization. I quickly removed them from the property and that was that!

In regards to the leach field, the field is working perfectly - a matter of fact - since I let them go, I have had a cycle timer installed on my septic - by a reputable company and the field is now receiving its cycled dose - which is required to allow the field to absorb the sewage. They never offered this to me either time they came out in the past 2 years, all they wanted to do was get a (drain field repair/replace business opportunity) out of me, and I wasn't going to play their song. Any reputable septic company would have offered to install a cycler as that is standard operating procedure to ensure field dosing as well they should have offered to install a filter - which they didn't either. I had to have that done by someone else, which stops large objects from flowing the leach field in the first place - which can cause clogging of the field! They never one offered either of these preventative options to solve the problem - Septic Service 101 from what I was told!

End of the story, I reject it - look forward to proceeding with my case.

Thanks!

This entire complaint is false. We charged not a penny, to warranty a pump that was out of warranty. Even it it was under the manufacturer'e warranty, which it wasn't, manufacturers warranties DO NOT cover any labor. The ***r distributor in this area is the *** company. The branch manager in charge of *** is ***. ***. We purchased the pump from him. This was a larger, more expensive pump than most all common pumps. He has verified through *** that this specific pump has 12 month manufacturers warranty from the date of installation. He can also confirm that it is common for large pumps to sit on the shelf and that is why they warranty them from the installation date. We have no control over how long rare pumps sit on a shelf. *** does have a 36 month warranty on SOME of their smaller pumps. Please contact *** of the *** Company to verify the above information and he has opened a file, and has verified all information. In closing, we warrantied a pump, and charged nothing, on a pump that was proven to be out of warranty. He is not even the owner of the property.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

Again, as stated - the pump was installed and the manufacturers date was legacy. The pump failed with in the time frame of warranty, Awesco replaced the pump due to this, and there was in fact an emergency charge we paid for the service to look at the pump which failed prematurely in the first place. So AWESCO is again wrong, and in fact we were charged an emergency fee for them to come out and check the pump issue in the first place.

At the end of the day, the pump put into the septic was old, over a year old when deployed. The pump failed, and was replaced. Instead of honoring the new pump warranty, AWESCO decided to play a game and claim a leach field issue on a property with no leach field problem at all. End of the day, bad business practice, bad business decision on their part and ultimately a failure in terms of giving the proper manufactures information, documentation and owners material associated with both the original pump installation and the replacement pump installation. Consumers are supposed to receive these when a vendor deploys a manufactured product in America. Check the consumer protection act if you need clarity, none of this was supplied to me in either situations, both original pump installation and the replacement.

Going back and forth is mute, AWESCO failed the basic customer support baselines we all operate in terms of business with a customer. On top of that, they tried and attempted to find fault elsewhere beyond their own mistakes - both in terms of the legacy pump they installed in the first place, and the failure to honor the replacement pump installation warranty period.

Also, just to be very very clear with the owner of AWESCO on this. Whether I am the Owner, or Renter is of no concern to you. As a renter of a house in King County, I am authorized to make repair, its in my lease agreement with the owner. So please do not even bring that into this complaint as it is irrelevant. Also - the crew was well aware of this when they came to service me.

Secondly, for the sake of the Revdex.com's knowledge. AWESCO replaced a pump for me at *** CT 4 years ago - I was also a renter of that home as well, with owner approval to maintain, repair and upkeep that property as well. So again - its irrelevant to this complaint and AWESCO happily serviced me their as well with full knowledge I was the renter.

I will attempt to address the claims one at a time. When selling your house in King County, your septic system must be pumped and inspected, and for the privilege of filling out and recording the septic inspection at the King County website (which is required) we have to pay $ 194.80 which we...

included in our over all charges. King County requires we dig up and inspect every distributor box, so that is obviously not an upsell. King County also requires that the home owner has an as built of their septic system (which is a map of the septic). On this property when you log onto King County's web site and click on the as built link, it shows that this is a pressure septic system that has NO distributor box. But as it turns out, the as built recorded under the as built section is wrong, and this is a gravity septic that does have a distributor box. And it is industry standard that on gravity septic systems, the distributor box is typically right next to the septic tank. As it turns out, this distributor box is 55 feet away from the septic tank and 20 feet off to the side, which obviously makes it much more difficult to find than the average distributor box. The average life span of a cement distributor box is 15 to 20 years. When digging up and opening a 30 year old distributor box, you should be able to pry open the lid with a shovel with out damaging it. It is very rare to find a cement distributor box, that is 30 years old, that is not deteriorated badly.
We went back out to the house to check out the crack in the septic tank I have included a video of the cracked top of the septic tank. It is still our opinion that the tank top needs replaced. King County typically doesn't allow tank top replacement so they want the whole tank replaced. I have forwarded the video and the customers concerns to the King County Health and am waiting their response. Thanks.  Lewis B[redacted] - President.

We bought a house last year where Wesco had been hired to pump the septic as part of the inspection and purchase process. They charged the seller $600 to pump the tank and provide a report to the seller for the inspection. A year after we bought the house, the septic backed up and when our septic company opened it up, it was totally full and clogged, with so much heavy solids on the bottom and top layers that his opinion was that Wesco had literally simply not pumped it but had charged for it, because who would know? When he asked which company had been hired to do the previous pumping, he wasn't surprised to hear that it was Wesco and wasn't surprised that they simply hadn't done the work. In my opinion, this is absolutely criminal.

Awesco performed what was supposed to be a real estate inspection. This is on a home purchased 3/14.
As King County requires that for all real estate sales, the last septic inspection was only 3 years ago. At that time, the system was pumped, a new float and pump were installed. Now you’d think, that this inspection would be straight forward and merely a formality of meeting the King county requirements for Sale of a home.
What should have been about $500.00 for the required inspection report become almost $2000.00
The pump had to be replaced again after only 3 years of usage. (I actually moved on the premises in 7/14) Here’s what you have to pay attention to.
The old pump was disposed before a date could be verified. Evergreen Septic had supposedly replaced it in 2014 but the only proof of that has been discarded. It’s suspect.
My proof has been thrown down the drain so to speak!
Now I’m fighting for a mere $100.00 off to take some of the pain away. The coupon clearly states $100.00 of for real estate inspections but Awesco is giving me the run around. They say a pumping had ot be completed and this system was pumped.
Per Doug at King CTY. New pumps should last at least 10 years and my situation is unique (supposedly)
Again, the most annoying part is that the old pump (supposedly new in 2014) was disposed of before the date could be seen. That would have resolved this issue and I could have taken it up with Evergreen the previous installers.
Poo poo on Awesco and Evergreen. I have a feeling that these companies cover for each other otherwise they would make their work more transparent. What a hoax.
Also Awesco said that they repaired the line. I would like proof of that.
I had another company come in and repair the line with corrugated piping so that there was no leakage.
I believe that the almost new pump was disposed of deliberately before the date could be verified.
I can submit photo's of the repair work that was completed. (by the other company).
