A.B.May apologized to the customer for not coming out over the weekend. It is our policy to send a plumber any day of the week if the work we performed is causing damage to the home (in this case a leaking pipe). The customer agreed to a partial refund of the original plumbing bill to resolve this...
complaint. A check will be mailed to the home within 14 business days.
An A.B.May technician came to the customer's home on October 10th and found that an inline filter was broken, resulting in a water leak. A.B.May believes we installed this part correctly on February 3, 2016, and it functioned properly until this point. We performed a routine maintenance on the home...
on August 15th and did not detect a leak at that point. A.B.May is not claiming responsibility for the failed part. However, in a measure of goodwill, we are working with the customer to provide compensation for incurred damages.

After thoroughly reviewing what happened, A.B.May believes the water pressure was accurately set to 80 psi and the cause of the leak was not due to the water pressure being too high, but that by increasing the pressure at all, this caused the incorrectly installed pipe to fail. It...
appears that, at the time of the leak, the reading of the water pressure at 130 was inaccurate because the prv valve did not fail and continues to work correctly. Had the pressure actually been 130, the valve would have needed to be replaced. Although A.B.May feels confident this was the case, we recognize the slight possibility that the water pressure was raised too high initially, in which case we would be at fault for the leak at the stop on the toilet (not the incorrectly installed pipe) and are willing to compensate half of the damages requested, $600. The customer accepted $600 as a resolution to this complaint. A.B.May recognizes the prv is covered under the gold agreement and will replace it if customer chooses to.
