We are very shocked that this customer has filed a complaintWe originally took on the job on Dec and explained to the customer that it would take approximately weeks to get the job started because it would take that long to receive the wiring harnessthe customer came in at the week marker for an update and we told him that we still have not received the harness, he was also informed that we have no reason to remove the no good [redacted] motor from his cutlass until we have the parts (wiring harness and fuel pump all ordered parts) to install the ls motor from a [redacted] TahoeHe seemed to be upset and miss understanding thingswe then took time to explain that the job we were contracted to do is a conversion from a old carburated car to a computer controlled engine with fuel injectionthis is no something quick to do and will take the time it is going to take and that we will pull the engine out of his car and start doing the mock up for the LS motor to be installedthis was mid Marchwe then called to find out where our wiring harness was to find out that it was on back order still and we canceled it with themduring the removal of the [redacted] motor we found that he has a Buick [redacted] and [redacted] only transmissionwe then contacted the customer with the news that the Ls motor will not bolt to his existing transmission and we found one at the recyclers for with low miles on it and he said to buy it and he came back the next day with the payment of the transmission and seen that we received it with the drive line yoke and lines and dipstick and tube all from the same vehicleit was a 4l80e witch is the better more heavy duty transmission that could have been installed in his conversionwe then ordered a wiring harness from PSI conversions with a programed computer for his gear ratio in the rear end and the shift speeds of the tranny per his tire sizewe received all the parts in April contacted the customer and told him that we are assembling the job and we support the customers coming to the shop and seeing this process so that they stay informedwe started the engine and had customer hear it run so we could then send it to the exhaust shophe was very pleasedwhen the car was finished at the exhaust shop we drove it back to the shop so we could dial the job inn and get customer to pick it upthe customer came in to pick it up and we had him test drive the car to find out that there is a fuel supply issue that we needed to take a look atwe found that the gas tank had sucked in some dirt and caused the fuel pressure regulator to stick closed and make it hard for the fuel pump to pump correct pressurewe then installed a see thru inline filter so we could monitor the amount of debris getting into the fuel lines and replaced the regulator at no chargethe car drove fine and we contacted the customer and stated that it was ready for pick uphe came inn and test drove the car for a long time with no issueshe drove it away and a few hours later called us and said it just did the same thingwe sent a tech out to the car to check up on it and he determined that it was parked in an unsafe place to do anything on the street of down town Sacramento and he would rather it be towed to the shop for the inspection, so we towed it to the shopwe found that there was air being sucked into the fuel pump at the new filter that we installed so we repaired that fuel line that was causing the airwe drove the car for plus miles and found it to be driving greatcontacted the customer and informed him that it was ready for pick uphe came in and seen some debris in the fuel filter before the fuel pump and asked it to be cleaned out again, and we didhe test drove the car and came back and stated that it was dieing out againwe were perplexed and realized that we just opened the fuel system when we did the clean out of the filter for himAsked that he went and drove the car with the tech again and explained that the air needed to work its was out of the lineshe drove it again and stated that it drove good and he drove it hometwo days later he contacted us stating that it died out again he was informed that we will order a performance fuel filter/regulator to resolve his issue as was stated to us by speed way motors tech support, the supplier of the fuel pump so we did order it and it is in our possessionCustomer was contacted and informed that if he wanted to pick up a speed shifter (witch he needs) that when the fuel pressure regulator shows up we would install the shifter at no charge for customer relations and resolve his fuel issueAs for the oil pan being low they make different engine oil pans for it and we have a inch drop oil pan and pick up tube ordered with speed way motors to install on the car when it was to arrive for its mandatory mile check up, customer is aware of all of this information and has agreed to it allthe fuel pump in the wrong location is an inaccurate statement made to the customer by some one other then usThere is no reason to refund any monies, the job is guarantiedThe conversion has some bugs and the bugs need to be addressed for the customerThere is nothing out of the ordinary going on with the carIt is simple things that we are addressing for the customerConverting a old system to a new system has some complications that need to be handled and we are willing and able to address them for the customerThe customer should contact us and we will towed the car in and complete the issues as explainedsorry for any and all in convinces this may have caused, we are on top of it with the highest priority and have all vendors of the parts we purchased on call awaiting the vehicles arrival

I am rejecting this response because: The highlighted information is not correctThe truck was there about a week before 01/07/There were no oil leaksI brought the truck back to them once a week for three weeks and on the third time they replaced the valve cover gasket on the driver side which was the same side that the cam phaser was replaced and you have to take the valve cover off to get toI brought the truck back to them 06/11/not 06/15/I remember I was moving to a new house that week and I had to call because [redacted] didn’t call me to tell me what was wrong with my truckI called 06/15/and talked to the boss Danny my truck was there four daysIt wasn’t months from the first repairsThe first repairs were completed 01/09/and I brought it back to them months days later on 06/11/Same rough idle and engine noise from the first repairIt wasn’t recommend they asked for authorization to tow my truck to ford for a second opinionI didn’t know that was code for we are going to leave it thereI wasn’t asked if I wanted to talk to ford about more repairs I was told that my truck was still at ford and I needed to call them if I wanted it fixedI don’t understand why Absolute Auto Care can’t stand by their work and be honest with me that they couldn’t do the workThat is why I am asking for a full refund of$

I am rejecting this response because: this is not sludge this was thick grease or oil notice the color

This complaint was settled and fufilledAfter the fact the customer had an issue with the rear window channel Our repair failedWe are willing to refund him his monies spent for our repair, witch totals $plus we will pay for the removal and reinstall of the rear glassThe customer has chosen to pay much more to repair the issue then what we were contracted to doThere is a refund option of $available to the customer Keeping in mind that we have already settled and closed this complaint at our facility

It is very unfortunate that this all happened miles awayIf the customer was close to the shop when he had transmission failure, he would have had it towed to usPaid us to remove the transmission and we would have had the yard come and pick it up and repair it or replace itThey would have sent it back to us to reinstall or sent his original bad tranny back with a check for a refund if deemed unrepairableAt that point, Absolute and the customer would have been able to discuss the next steps.when we were notified that he customer was broke down far away and it was transmission failure, he was informed that he needed to have the tranny removed and sent up here to us or directly to the yardhe was also told by us that the yard will be sending out another transmissionthen he was told that the tranny he was going to receive wasn't any goodhe was then told that the yard was going to rebuild one and send it outthat never happenedthis transfer of information from the yard to us and then us to the customer went on over a week periodduring this time on november his father came into the shop and said that his wife and our office never had a conversation about returning the broken transmissionhe stated that she didn't ask for the address and phone number of where to send the trannynot sure where there mis communication came from but this phone call took place a few days prior to his arrival at the shopnever the less at that point over minutes of him being in our office he was clear that they had to have the transmission returnedalso at this time the father and [redacted] called the yard on speaker so that the father could here what was being saidas stated at that time they will have a transmission ready to go by monday and gave us his cell phone number to call on saturday and sunday because he was going to be working thru the holiday weekend and [redacted] should call and get an update [redacted] did call and was told that monday afternoon was good as planed [redacted] called on monday and was told that the transmission his sister yard had was not useablethis car is a type S and can only use a type S tranny and to find out where there tranny is so that they can inspect and repair that onethis took place over that weeknow almost weeks into this the customer said he wants a refund [redacted] called the yard and they stated that they don't understand why they have not received there tranny and when they get there tranny returned they will issue a refund for the trannywe contacted the customer and he stated that he was not returning the tranny because he had a shop rebuild it and reinstall itwith this being said our hands are tiedthe yard wants there tranny and they will send a refund and his core tranny to usthe customer had the yards tranny rebuilt and is not sending it back and wants the tranny monies refundedin addressing the statements that we don't care to handle this in a timely manner, we have diligently been on the phone with both sides of this situation and understand that it caused some inconveniences to the customerit is very unfortunate that this happened so far awayA used tranny has no warranty on our labor because it does sometimes end up as a failure.2nd statement of I was never informed it was coming from a wrecking yardthe customer was in fact ahead of time informed that he had options to choose from and that is a used tranny or a rebuilt trannyat that time he was told the warranty options day warranty on the used tranny parts onlyand months unlimited millage warranty on parts and labor for the rebuild.we are willing to offer a $refund to try and pacify the situation and reach an end to thismaybe it helps the customer out a little but in no way is this admitting any wrong or fault by Absolute Auto Careif the $is accepted there will be no further actions taken

As we have discussed with the customer, the wrecking yard wants there transmission returned and a full refund will be given In other words as soon as it is recived the customers monies will be refunded to the same credit card used to purchase itWe understand the hard ships that an
unusable car causesThis is why we don't recommend installing used parts into vehicles Situations like this is very unfortunateWe will refund the $Please inform us of a time frame this all may occur

Company states: The work we were asked to do on the vehicle prior has been completed as agreedWe are still offering a refund for the cam sensor and the cost of the diagnostic to the dealer along with a good will gesture for the troubles for a total of $Please let us know and we will send out the check right away

there are few things that will cause all connecting rod barrings to spin, witch none we have caused to happenWe cannt allow someone to be able to walk into a business and make them pay for an engine replacement because the consumer says soWe requested that the consumer provide some info from a machine shop that states we put the sludge into there motor to cause it to go badThe sledge is very common for dodges and some other makes and builds up over a long timethis is not a day event, this situation is unfortunate but is the responsibility of the customersTell us why here

This vehicle arrived to Absolute Auto Care 1-7-with a very loud engine noiseThe customer had done some repairs himself to try and fix the problem before arriving to us, which included replacing the cam sensor, dtc valve, right side cam fazor and in the process broke a rocker bolt and did not
install all the valve cover bolts ( so the vehicle arrived with oil leaks) Customer was also aware at time of arrival that the left side timing chain was looseWe recommended a complete timing chain kit and left cam fazor. Work was completed and the noise stopped and engine running goodThis vehicle did return times for oil leaks related to the leaks we it arrived and for customer service they were fix at n/c to the customerJune 15th the vehicle came back to us (6months later and miles later) for engine run ability and engine codes(no engine noise at this time)We inspected the codes and found the vct selenoid failureThe customer authorized the part, however this did not solve the issueWe recommend going to the dealer for a 2nd opinon and this would be done at the dealer inspection fee of $and at n/c to the customerThe dealer call us back and recommended to tear down the engine to find out why there is a oil problem and possible broken internal partsWe called the customer and ask if he wanted to talk to the dealer to be able to make a informed decession on the next repairs neededAt this time we were informed by the dealer that the customer decided to buy a new vehicle and not repair the truckWe at Absolute Auto Care feel that since there was a month and miles on our repair and no issues that our job was done correctlyWe do feel that the second diagnose did not help the run ability so we feel that a refund of that $ and $for customers relations for a total of $ refund would be fairIf the customer can understand that both sides of the story is in fair understanding and would appreciate the solution , then please inform us a address that we can send a check toSincerely Absolute Auto Care 7-28-

I am rejecting this response because: Absolute Auto never told me that under my day warranty if my transmission failed I would have to return the transmission personally to the wrecking yard, nor did I even know they purchased the transmission from a wrecking yard until after I had told them the transmission had failedDuring the two weeks I attempted to get another transmission through Absolute Auto they continued to make it seem like the wrecking yard was working on testing packaging and sending me either another used one or a rebuilt oneAt the end of two weeks the owner *** told me the wrecking yard doesn't have another transmission for youDoesn't know when they will get one and doesn't care about handling this situation in a timely matterSome how I felt as if I was put in a situation to try and have to handle everything when actually I am in control of nothingThe reason I continue to ask for my refund from Absolute Auto is because they told me they could not get me another transmissionRegardless if somehow I managed to send them the old transmission at another expense to me I would never get a transmission in return

We are very shocked that this customer has filed a complaint. We originally took on the job on Dec 22 2015 and explained to the customer that it would take approximately 8 weeks to get the job started because it would take that long to receive the wiring harness. the customer came in at the 8 week...

marker for an update and we told him that we still have not received the harness, he was also informed that we have no reason to remove the no good [redacted] motor from his 1974 cutlass until we have the parts (wiring harness and fuel pump all ordered parts) to install the 2002 ls motor from a [redacted] Tahoe. He seemed to be upset and miss understanding things. we then took time to explain that the job we were contracted to do is a conversion from a old carburated car to a computer controlled engine with fuel injection. this is no something quick to do and will take the time it is going to take and that we will pull the engine out of his car and start doing the mock up for the LS motor to be installed. this was mid March. we then called to find out where our wiring harness was to find out that it was on back order still and we canceled it with them. during the removal of the [redacted] motor we found that he has a Buick [redacted] and [redacted] only transmission. we then contacted the customer with the news that the Ls motor will not bolt to his existing transmission and we found one at the recyclers for 1100 with low miles on it and he said to buy it and he came back the next day with the payment of the transmission and seen that we received it with the drive line yoke and lines and dipstick and tube all from the same vehicle. it was a 4l80e witch is the better more heavy duty transmission that could have been installed in his conversion. we then ordered a wiring harness from PSI conversions with a programed computer for his gear ratio in the rear end and the shift speeds of the tranny per his tire size. we received all the parts in April contacted the customer and told him that we are assembling the job and we support the customers coming to the shop and seeing this process so that they stay informed. we started the engine and had customer hear it run so we could then send it to the exhaust shop. he was very pleased. when the car was finished at the exhaust shop we drove it back to the shop so we could dial the job inn and get customer to pick it up. the customer came in to pick it up and we had him test drive the car to find out that there is a fuel supply issue that we needed to take a look at. we found that the gas tank had sucked in some dirt and caused the fuel pressure regulator to stick closed and make it hard for the fuel pump to pump correct pressure. we then installed a see thru inline filter so we could monitor the amount of debris getting into the fuel lines and replaced the regulator at no charge. the car drove fine and we contacted the customer and stated that it was ready for pick up. he came inn and test drove the car for a long time with no issues. he drove it away and a few hours later called us and said it just did the same thing. we sent a tech out to the car to check up on it and he determined that it was parked in an unsafe place to do anything on the street of down town Sacramento and he would rather it be towed to the shop for the inspection, so we towed it to the shop. we found that there was air being sucked into the fuel pump at the new filter that we installed so we repaired that fuel line that was causing the air. we drove the car for 30 plus miles and found it to be driving great. contacted the customer and informed him that it was ready for pick up. he came in and seen some debris in the fuel filter before the fuel pump and asked it to be cleaned out again, and we did. he test drove the car and came back and stated that it was dieing out again. we were perplexed and realized that we just opened the fuel system when we did the clean out of the filter for him. Asked that he went and drove the car with the tech again and explained that the air needed to work its was out of the lines. he drove it again and stated that it drove good and he drove it home. two days later he contacted us stating that it died out again he was informed that we will order a performance fuel filter/regulator to resolve his issue as was stated to us by speed way motors tech support, the supplier of the fuel pump so we did order it and it is in our possession. Customer was contacted and informed that if he wanted to pick up a 4 speed shifter (witch he needs) that when the fuel pressure regulator shows up we would install the shifter at no charge for customer relations and resolve his fuel issue. As for the oil pan being low they make 5 different engine oil pans for it and we have a 7 inch drop oil pan and pick up tube ordered with speed way motors to install on the car when it was to arrive for its mandatory 500 mile check up, customer is aware of all of this information and has agreed to it all. the fuel pump in the wrong location is an inaccurate statement made to the customer by some one other then us. There is no reason to refund any monies, the job is guarantied. The conversion has some bugs and the bugs need to be addressed for the customer. There is nothing out of the ordinary going on with the car. It is simple things that we are addressing for the customer. Converting a old system to a new system has some complications that need to be handled and we are willing and able to address them for the customer. The customer should contact us and we will towed the car in and complete the issues as explained. sorry for any and all in convinces this may have caused, we are on top of it with the highest priority and have all vendors of the parts we purchased on call awaiting the vehicles  arrival.

When the truck arrived we were asked to replace the spark plugs and change engine oil. This work was completed. The next day the customer called and said that the engine was smoking. We asked them to bring in the vehicle and they never showed up. After reviewing the video of the oil change and spark...

plugs and seeing no faults in the repairs as well as confirmation of the correct oils installed we have determined that there is nothing that we can do for this consumer. We beleave there is some form of fraudulent gain that is in play here. Saying two other cars were miss diagnosed?  We do not do work like that here what so ever. For some one to make statements as such there has to be wrong thoughts or trying to take advantage of a company. If there was a coolant leak documented there was a coolant leak. If there was a power stering leak documented there was a power stering leak. We would request that in writing from a licensed automotive repair facility inspect and document that Absolute Auto Care damaged the engine. If this can happen we will purchase an engine with equal miles on it and pay to have it installed. At this time we believe that we hold no cause for a damaged engine.

I am rejecting this response because:what Absolute Auto is asking me to do makes absolutely no sense. For one they put in a lemon transmission in my car that lasted two weeks. The fact that it was a used transmission and lasted two weeks was a huge inconvenience but is not necessarily the problem here. The problem is and was that the transmission had a 60 day warranty and after I addressed Absolute Auto about the the transmission failure they failed to provide me with another transmission period. Their excuses ranged from the wrecking yard where they supposedly get there transmissions from didn't have any more so they couldn't help me to to them rebuilding one for me and it would be shipped out which ended up being a lie to all of which I have documented. Because Abosolute Auto failed to provide me with another transmission to install into my vehicle in which I could possibly of sent there broken one back I had to use the only one I have in my car and have a transmission company called [redacted] rebuild it for me. If I was to come out of my pocket to send a broke down transmission back to Absolute Auto seems completely absurd because then I wouldn't have a transmission at all to fix my car only because Absolute Auto couldn't fulfill or assist me at all in there warranty. Ive been asking for my refund because Absolute said they couldn't get me another transmission after two weeks of my car being broken down which is more than a substantial amount of time. If they couldn't provide me with another transmission then refund my money period.

I am rejecting this response because: The work should've been completed as warrantied and promised, I was told from [redacted], "you could drive the car to New York and back with no problems" I haven't been able to drive to the other side of town. I was also told by [redacted]," now that we tried this on your car, let your friends know I have mached this up and I have spare materials and could do one of these now in a few days, I'm ready". The vehicle is not only not running without breaking down its unsafe. I would feel even more uncomfortable and unsafe letting them continue to use my vehicle as a guinea pig when I paid a lot of money to get no results and my safety is at risk. If they were so certain of their work why should I have to take the car back numerous times to let them TRY to fix it. If they weren't capable of fixing it correct the first, second or third time. I need a professional to go through the vehicle and fix everything that is wrong & safely. To be told continuously I only did what the book says is a little scary. Are the three or four guys that worked on it even certified for repairs, including [redacted]?  The clear fuel filter wasn't installed because of fixing anything they were doing trial and error because they said they had no idea why it wouldn't stay started. Three fuel pumps later and now a fourth one, it appears that may not be the problem, why should I let them try a fourth time to make a another mistake. My vehicle was with them for 6 months. I was without it and still continue to be until  a professional can  look at it and repair it so I know its safe. And now all of a sudden by text another fuel pumps is ordered, another oil pan, should all of this have ben completed to begin with? They want more time to practice on my vehicle, I cant afford to waste any more time or money or my personal safety with this place.  I have attached the latest text message.

It is very unfortunate that this all happened 400 miles away. If the customer was close to the shop when he had transmission failure, he would have had it towed to us. Paid us to remove the transmission and we would have had the yard come and pick it up and repair it or replace it. They would have sent it back to us to reinstall or sent his original bad tranny back with a check for a refund if deemed unrepairable. At that point, Absolute and the customer would have been able to discuss the next steps.when we were notified that he customer was broke down far away and it was transmission failure, he was informed that he needed to have the tranny removed and sent up here to us or directly to the yard. he was also told by us that the yard will be sending out another transmission. then he was told that the tranny he was going to receive wasn't any good. he was then told that the yard was going to rebuild one and send it out. that never happened. this transfer of information from the yard to us and then us to the customer went on over a 2 week period. during this time on november 24 his father came into the shop and said that his wife and our office never had a conversation about returning the broken transmission. he stated that she didn't ask for the address and phone number of where to send the tranny. not sure where there mis communication came from but this phone call took place a few days prior to his arrival at the shop. never the less at that point over 30 minutes of him being in our office he was clear that they had to have the transmission returned. also at this time the father and [redacted] called the yard on speaker so that the father could here what was being said. as stated at that time they will have a transmission ready to go by monday and gave us his cell phone number to call on saturday and sunday because he was going to be working thru the holiday weekend and [redacted] should call and get an update. [redacted] did call and was told that monday afternoon was good as planed. [redacted] called on monday and was told that the transmission his sister yard had was not useable. this car is a type S and can only use a type S tranny and to find out where there tranny is so that they can inspect and repair that one. this took place over that week. now almost 3 weeks into this the customer said he wants a refund. [redacted] called the yard and they stated that they don't understand why they have not received there tranny and when they get there tranny returned they will issue a refund for the tranny. we contacted the customer and he stated that he was not returning the tranny because he had a shop rebuild it and reinstall it. with this being said our hands are tied. the yard wants there tranny and they will send a refund and his core tranny to us. the customer had the yards tranny rebuilt and is not sending it back and wants the tranny monies refunded. in addressing the statements that we don't care to handle this in a timely manner, we have diligently been on the phone with both sides of this situation and understand that it caused some inconveniences to the customer. it is very unfortunate that this happened so far away. A used tranny has no warranty on our labor because it does sometimes end up as a failure.2nd statement of I was never informed it was coming from a wrecking yard. the customer was in fact ahead of time informed that he had 2 options to choose from and that is a used tranny or a rebuilt tranny. at that time he was told the warranty options 60 day warranty on the used tranny parts only. and 12 months unlimited millage warranty on parts and labor for the rebuild.we are willing to offer a $500.00 refund to try and pacify the situation and reach an end to this. maybe it helps the customer out a little but in no way is this admitting any wrong or fault by Absolute Auto Care. if the $500.00 is accepted there will be no further actions taken.

I am rejecting this response because: The highlighted information is not correct. The truck was there about a week before 01/07/15. There were no oil leaks. I brought the truck back to them once a week for three weeks and on the third time they replaced the valve cover gasket on the driver side which was the same side that the cam phaser was replaced and you have to take the valve cover off to get to. I brought the truck back to them 06/11/15 not 06/15/15 I remember I was moving to a new house that week and I had to call because [redacted] didn’t call me to tell me what was wrong with my truck. I called 06/15/15 and talked to the boss Danny my truck was there four days. It wasn’t 6 months from the first repairs. The first repairs were completed 01/09/15 and I brought it back to them 5 months 2 days later on 06/11/15. Same rough idle and engine noise from the first repair. It wasn’t recommend they asked for authorization to tow my truck to ford for a second opinion. I didn’t know that was code for we are going to leave it there. I wasn’t asked if I wanted to talk to ford about more repairs I was told that my truck was still at ford and I needed to call them if I wanted it fixed. I don’t understand why Absolute Auto Care can’t stand by their work and be honest with me that they couldn’t do the work. That is why I am asking for a full refund of$1818.10

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

It clearly states that Absolute Auto Care offered to refund $944.00 and reseal the rear glass. At that time the glass company found a rust spot comming thru our repair. We agreed that you could get an estimate to repair it and we would reimburse that amount also. Instead of repairing it they replaced all the metal around the rear window. So in the choice of doing so. Our repair is no long on your car. There for we are willing to refund the monies for our repair on top of the original agreement.  So it would be the $944.00 plus the $650.00.  TOTALING $1594.00  sorry I didn't include the original agreement total in the last email.

I am rejecting this response because: this is not sludge this was thick grease or oil notice the color.

This complaint was settled and fufilled. After the fact the customer had an issue with the rear window channel.  Our repair failed. We are willing to refund him his monies spent for our repair, witch totals $650.00 plus we will pay 100.00 for the removal and reinstall of the rear glass. The...

customer has chosen to pay much more to repair the issue then what we were contracted to do. There is a refund option of $750.00 available to the customer.  Keeping in mind that we have already settled and closed this complaint at our facility.
