Sorry you feel the way you do. Our intention is never to harass anyone. What would be the point? We don’t get paid to harass people! We also DON’T just let phone ring twice (as you’re claiming) as that would be counter-productive and wouldn’t help us reach people. Again, a total waste of our time. Our goal is to reach people, not call them and hang up before they can pick up their phone! What would be the point of that? We do our best to try to contact people… and people these days can be tough to reach. So yes, we do try multiple times before giving up But since we don’t call anyone that hasn’t first consented to receive our calls, we feel that if we aren’t diligent in trying to reach them about their life insurance (something they indicated they wanted more information about), they might not ever get it… and if they end up dying without it, we would have dropped the ball by not at least trying diligently to reach them. Unlike other, less legitimate firms who spoof or hide who they are when they call you, we don’t do anything to block our caller ID, nor do we disguise it as we want our customers to know it’s us when we’re calling as they invited our call and until we discover otherwise, it’s our presumption that they WANT to hear from us. We also promptly remove anyone that requests to be removed from our calling list whenever they indicate that’s what they want. We make that very easy. EVERYTHING we do is 100% compliant with all applicable telemarketing laws. This is my company, and there are a lot of people’s jobs that depend on us doing things right, and following the law SO we are keenly aware of the laws, and follow them I apologize if you feel like you were harassed, as that is certainly never our intention. But until we have word that you don’t actually want to speak with us, especially after having invited us to call you, how would you expect us to know? If you don’t answer, our assumption is that you’re not home. How is that harassment? As for the single human being calling you, only one person at a time calls you If you need to speak with me personally, you can call the office, any time. I, obviously, can no longer call you as you’re on our DNC list! *** *** *** *** *** ***Founder/President/CEO Direct line: ***

One of our lead sources contacted Mr*** by telephone based on his requestDuring the call, the agent communicated and asked Mr*** for permission for automated telephone contact and from multiple providers and Mr
*** agreed to the requestIn reviewing the call, we understand he may have had some confusion knowing that he would be receiving calls from both mortgage and insurance agents about quotesWe have reviewed and discussed this with our lead source and are reinforcing our requirements to them that all agents must be abundantly clear with the client so that the client knows who will be calling them backWe appreciate the feedback and information from Mr***At AccuQuote, we address these situations very seriously and thoroughly and abide by all proper regulations to remain in compliance with them
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/04/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
AccuQuote's "Lead Source" cold-called me illegally in violation of the National Do-Not-Call Registry (DNCR), with no request from me to do soI agreed to receiving further calls so as to find out who was using the law-breaking "Lead Source" to receive sales leads
Since AccuQuote continues to use this "Lead Source", they are implicated in the illegal activity of disregarding the DNCR
I will continue to interact with any illegal "Lead Source" calls I receive with the goal of wasting as much time and resources of the companies using these companies to generate sales leadsI will also be spreading the word in all forums that this is why (some very angry) folks are still receiving unwanted calls after signing up for the DNCRI'll definitely include my experiences with any specific companies responsible, and how they respond to my complaints
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/05/01) */
Mr*** noted in his Revdex.com reply that AccuQuote continues to use the lead source in questionThis is incorrectIn fact, we stopped working with this source immediately (April 14) upon learning of Mr***'s original complaint while doing our investigation into the facts and have not used them since
We require ALL of our lead sources to comply with all laws and regulationsFor those speaking with clients by telephone, we require that they have proper consent to call and make it abundantly clear that the client knows what the reason for the call was, who they are speaking with and exactly who will be calling them back if they provide consentWe appreciate the feedback and information from Mr***At AccuQuote, we address these situations very seriously and thoroughly and abide by all regulations to remain in compliance with them

Accuquote uses the "Foot in the door" technique where they give you a great quote over the phone Then they spent 2-months reviewing your medical records, and when they find a single value in a single blood test they find over some threshold, then they jack up the price Because it is 2-months later, you're in a tough spot when they call, you want insurance now and they're now your only option For me, they found a reading, (or so they told me), of an HDL cholesterol level of 4.9, where their threshold is This disqualified me for the best rating, and put me in a category that costs 20% more Interestingly, the web tells me HDL is the "good" cholesterol and higher is better, and the number is usually in the 40s No word yet from Accuquote about why I was disqualified for having too much good cholesterol

This company employs deceptive business practices offering "free life insurance quotes" over the internet. However, after viewing the alleged "free life insurance quote", be prepared to for their sales bombardment campaign which starts from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm
most days and, at times, earlier and later. Today, I received 5 calls and it's only 1:00 pm!
The last one was the first and only message ever left on my answering machine. It is a HOME number and thankfully, they are not haranguing me at work. I work for an insurance agency and we do NOT employ these tactics. The sales rep was RUDE to the point of not return. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

We at AccuQuote take customer service very seriously. It is a top priority for us to make sure both our customers and leads are served with the utmost care. We only contact those who have opted-in, and if someone at any point decides he...

or she doesn't want to be called or emailed, we certainly respect that and take action accordingly and immediately.
We have no record of [redacted] asking to be put on the Do Not Call list during her fifth call (as she indicates in the complaint). We do find, however, that [redacted] asked to be placed on that list on 6/23/15. Upon her request on that day, we put her on the list immediately. [redacted] should no longer be called by AccuQuote.
Also, we've made sure [redacted]'s email was suppressed (removed) from both our internal list and any of our partner lists. She should not be contacted by AccuQuote in any way from now on. Please note the email suppression process could take up to seven (7) business days.
