Adam's Hardwood Flooring Reviews (38)

my husband and I recently moved into a year old homewe are expecting our first child in march, and were very anxious to get the baby's room readymost of our home is hardwood already, but the intended baby's room had an awful carpet overtop linoleum, overtop an original subfloorthere was also an area in the hallway that just had a base of plywood over concreteoriginally we contacted adam's hardwood to see if we could refinish the floorhowever, due to the age of the house, we could have been dealing with lead paint, obviously not great for any room much less a newborn'swe decided to go with a new floor, with a water-based seal, due to the great recommendation of [redacted]  he was extremely friendly and well-informed, and provided us with a competive quote as well as quick install timeframethe install was scheduled and completely quickly, and we are very happy with the resultsthey managed to get us in before the holidays (on very short notice), which made everything much less stressfuloverall, we are very pleased with our experience!

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint I have had the opportunity to review the response from Adams Hardwood Flooring, and would like to shed some light on a few facts contained thereinFirst, neither my wife nor myself recall signing or receiving any document resembling the page "Hardwood Flooring Preparation and Expectations" contained as an attachment in the most recent response made by Adams Hardwood FlooringAs far as the attachments, we have an estimate dated 9-16-which somewhat resembles the invoice from 10-18-provided to the Revdex.com from the businessThis is a simple situation in which we requested the help of a hardwood "professional" to assess the then current flooring in our homeWe met with and spoke at length with Adam to address our desire to add new hardwood to some areas of our first floor and to get his opinion on the gaps we had in our current hardwood flooringAdam stated that sanding the bevels out of the existing hardwood and sealing it would resolve the issueHe also stated that his company would be able to match the condition of the "refinished" hardwood to that of the soon to be installed hardwoodThe fact that Adam states that we requested that they use the "wood filler" is completely erroneousWe are not, and do not claim to be hardwood professionals, we were basically agreeing to the suggestion provided us by the businessTo state that we requested the filler on our own is quite absurdI specifically asked whether he had any prior "issues" with the filler failing, he stated that he had never had any such issuesThis was never an issue of "not being in our budget" or us "not being able to afford" new flooring as stated in the business's responseWhy would we spend $7,on a solution suggested by a "professional" if we thought for a second that it wouldn't resolve our existing problemAdam was confident that his sanding and refinishing process would remove the gaps in our floorI have attached photos of the actual pieces of the magical "filler" that have dislodged from our floor, as we seem to remove them almost on a daily basisIt appears that the sanding process was not completed to the required depth to remove the "bevels" as Adam stated it wouldThe attached photos show that the filler pieces are rather wide and deep, suggesting their sanding process wasn't completed to the desired depthIf the bevels in the floor were completely sanded out, the width of the filler material would be rather minimalIn the gaps where the filler has dislodged, it appears that the surface is rather dirty with sanding debrisI am certain that the adherence of the filler to the wood itself was affected by the fact that the original surface may not have been prepped correctlyWe received recommendation that we not vacuum the floor and to use a specific cleaner named "Bona"We adhered to the recommendation of not vacuuming and used the "Bona" on a regular basisIn hindsight it seems odd that we were told not to vacuum, as it does not reflect much confidence that the wood filler would remain in placeAgain Adam stated that he had never had problems with his filler/sealer dislodgingAdam refers to issues of humidity in our home as wellOur humidifier was inspected and humidity checked inside our homeThe humidifier was found to be working properly and our relative humidity levels were within limitsIf humidity were an issue, we would be experiencing the dislodging filler throughout our flooringWhen actually, the issues are only occurring in areas where there is foot trafficAreas that were refinished and are not exposed to a great deal of foot traffic seem to have held up quite wellThe areas where Adam installed new hardwood flooring have not shown any issues related to humidity eitherAnother interesting fact is that there are not any gaps where the wood pieces meet end to end lengthwise in the refinished areasWhere the refinished pieces meet end to end they are completely flushWouldn't we be experiencing the gaps in these areas as well, if humidity were indeed a factor? Another photo shows an area where our toilet was removed, refinishing completed, and toilet reinstalledThere seems to be minimal but noticeable water damage and a rather large gap in the floor in that areaAdam denied having removed our toilet to perform work on our floor, this was brought up at the last so-called house call in which one of his associates did indeed confirm that they had removed and reinstalled the toiletWe had asked that this be corrected also, the water damaged area and the toilet reinstalled correctlyThis was never addressed Adam states that they made two house calls and at the time of their last visit we had zero concerns with our flooring after yearsThis fact can be disputed by facts that the business has provided itselfNamely, the fact that we did refer our neighbor to Adam shortly after our work was completeOur neighbor agreed to have work done and performed within a year of ours having been completedWe began to experience our issues a couple months prior to our neighbors work being done and attempted several times to contact AdamSo when his associates showed up for the neighbors job, I had an opportunity to "show" his associates firsthand what we were experiencingOne of the employees did agree to come over and fill the areas where the filler had dislodged with a temporary wood puttyThe associate said that this was a temporary solution and that Adam would be in touchNeedless to say, it was extremely difficult if not impossible to contact the business or their associatesSo it would not have been possible for us not to have had issues at the time of the last house call almost years laterOur issues were brought to the attention of the business within the one year warranty timeframe that Adam refers to in his responseI have attached copies of emails that show we attempted contact with the business to resolve issues on several occasionsI guess I could track down phone records that show countless calls to Adam and his associates throughout this timeframe as wellMy wife and I are not trying to take advantage of anyone nor do we have an opportunistic attitude toward resolving this matterWe simply want the business to adhere to their promise regarding their workWe feel that the refinishing was not performed to standards that we were led to believe, nor do we feel that they were performed to the standards that Adam refers to in his correspondenceWe simply wanted the gaps out of our floorAdam promised a remedy, and it failedWe too would have gladly paid more for the larger job of installing all new wood throughout, knowing that their proposed solution would not last more than one yearWe expected that a hardwood professional's opinion would hold true, and that quality work would have been performed and warranted as promisedIt simply is not acceptable to us to have to pay twice for a service that did not hold up to a specified warrantyI feel it rather opportunistic to inexplicably avoid contact for so long and then offer to redo less than mediocre work at a discounted rate Regards, [redacted]

We just had flooring all over a home we just bought torn up by this company and hardwood floors put inThey did a meticulous job of bothThey estimated the time it would take perfectly and had the job done when they said they wouldCleaned up and left us with perfect wood floorsThe men that worked at our Home were real professionals that were masters of their crafts! We are so great full

Adams Hardwood Flooring did an amazing job refinishing the main level of our houseThey started two days after we moved in and made the process as enjoyable as possibleWe highly recommend both Adams Hardwood and the *** water based finish that they use - definitely worth the time and money especially if you are living in your house during the refinishing processThe floors are beautiful - they are true craftsmen! thanks!

Great communication, very detailed, very responsive, very professional and reasonable pricing

While the team started strong and initially stayed on schedule, the project completed four days later than promised On top of that, we paid the invoice in full and in good faith that the work would be completed on promised date and unfortunately the team did not hold up their end of the dealRequested a 10% refund which was declined and instead was offered a 10% discount off future work Not likely to happen given this experience

I had my floors done 1-1/2years ago by Adam's team and absolutely love them still! I just recommeneded them to one of my close friends who just bought a house and started her project a couple of days ago Would definitely recommend them!!! Very professional team and impressed with their work!

We never had hardwood flooring in a house before and Cameron took time to explain the process of installing the flooring along with the wood and color choicesThe estimate was fully outlined allowing us to know exactly what we were getting and the total cost Bottom line: If you are looking for a top notch and knowledgeable company that provides excellent service and quality installation of hardwood flooring, this a great company to contact

Adam's Hardwood Flooring did a great job adding a new wood floor to an adjacent older wood floor and then refinishing it all to create a seamless matchThey exceeded our expectations and were great to work with!

Cameron from Adam's Hardwood Flooring did a wonderful job installing our floors He took his time to ensure it was done right, but still finished in just over a day He was great with my kid's inquiring young minds We will be reaching back out when we are ready to do the other rooms in the house for sure

I have submitted all the information that I can submit We did not install the beveled flooring that the customer has concerns about The bevels existed because that was the type of flooring installed and the gaps occurred either due to improper acclimation or installation error Either way we did not install this floor It is common sense, no matter how much you sand that area of flooring the gaps will remain The bevels are 3/16" deep so if the bevels could even be completely sanded out then the wear layer on the flooring would be almost to nothing and would not match the new floor There is nothing wrong with the flooring which we installed The resolution here is to have the flooring with bevels and or gaps removed and new wood installed I would be more than happy to work with the customers in doing so I would even be willing to offer discounts for the work provided I don't know what else can be justifiable here because they are wanting us to replace flooring that we didn't even install The contract I had with these customers was to install new hardwoods in selected areas and to sand and finish all the flooring so the colors would match All of our work (installations and sand and finish) comes with a Year Warranty If I could give an illustration of what they are asking for it would be similar to if they had existing 5" flooring (which we did not install) and they selected 2" flooring to be installed in other rooms then after the job they complained that the width of the flooring does not match and now they want us to pay to have the old flooring removed and new 2" flooring installed to match This example is sort of a stretch because we did match the width of the existing floor along with matching the wood and grade I don't know how I can make this more clear, we did not install that flooring therefore there is no warranty on issues that they are having due to the installation of that floor There are no complaints on any of our work which was install new and sand and finish everything so the color and finish of the old wood matches the new wood Since we had nothing to due with the installation of that floor or the issues from the installation we therefore did not receive any compensation for any of that installation work So how do they justify us paying to have the floor removed and new wood installed This complaint should be stricken from our Revdex.com account and as I said before if the customers would like for us to fix the issues that they are having in their existing floor then we would be happy to assist them with that work.Kind regards,Adam's Hardwood Flooring

Wonderful experience and end result with our new hardwood floors Their advice was spot-on Adam's installed new floors that matched existing and sanded and finished our existing floor downstairs Would highly recommend

My wife and I had Adam's Hardwood refinish our floors and install a new railingDuring the bidding of the job, we worked closely with CameronHe was by far the most knowledgable person we interviewedCompared to the other companies that did carpeting and flooring, it's apparent the superior level Adam's Hardwood is onThey are the specialists bar noneThey are great about discussing all the options, the pros-cons, etcI should note that they were very good at cleaning up and respecting our houseWe had no problem leaving them alone to work for the weekAll of the guys on the crew were courteous, respectful, and professionalI will definitely be recommending them to my friends and family

We highly recommend Adams Hardwood Flooring We changed our mind about the shoe molding after they arrived to start work They worked around it The stain we chose turned out to be thick as tar and after staining sq ft, Adam called us and sent pictures via text and came up with a fix (we were driving to Minneapolis) When we returned we did find some minor issues Adam came out and inspected the three issues (one was a scratch I did) and fixed them all within the weekAdams Hardwood Flooring did what they said they would and when they said they would Perfect? No, but they have no problem standing behind their work and the issues we had were pretty minor

I had my floors refinished with stain color change , and also they feathered my old flooring into new flooring because I wanted to add a new floor section where carpet previously existed There were also holes to patch due to the fact I took out a wall It is hard to believe, but you really cannot tell at all where the patching/extension occurredSteve has an eye for detail and does the job of a perfectionistI had one small issue, which they made an effort to resolve immediatelyI am not going to lie--it is an inconvenience having this kind of work done while living in the home, but the workers tried to make it as convenient as possibleTheir dealings were businesslike and professional from start to finish

We are very satisfied with the work Adam's Hardwood Flooring did for us From the very start, their information relating to the process, options, and expectations was communicated in a very clear concise, and professional mannerAdam's re-finished out kitchen floor and hallway, and installed new treads and risers for our main staircase The level of craftsmanship is top notch The personnel are professional and courteous The work was completed in a timely manner within the quoted price We have recommended Adam's to some friends considering similar work

Cameron from Adam's Hardwood Flooring did a wonderful job for us Very professional and went above and beyond to make sure we were pleased with our new hardwood floors We installed approximately 2,square feet of 3/inch hardwood floors and flights of stairs and are thrilled on how great a job Cameron did I would highly recommend Cameron and Adams Hardwood Flooring

Communication was spectacular with Adams Flooring! We needed to replace our year floors on the entire first floor We received a quote, wanted to order flooring and do removal ourselves (which they were fine with), and even asked someone to come out to inspect our subfloor during our removal of the floors (because we were concerned that they needed replaced-l) We were in constant communication during the installation process (sometimes several times a day) so that we were aware of what had been completed, any unexpected roadblocks, and what we could expect for the following days They went over in their quote for the amount of days it would take to complete (only by one), but we were kept in the know, and we knew they were taking the time to make our floors perfect- we wouldn't want them to rush just to make a time quota We could not be happier with how our floors turned out! We have dealt with a lot of contractors over the last few years in making improvements to our home, and they are by far the best all around with customer services and product They take pride in their work and the quality of work speaks for itself!
