My neighbor spoke highly of ***l at Advanced Appliance Service so I contacted him on Sunday (Father's Day!) and he said he would be out in an hour. Our refrigerator was not cooling. *** came out, checked this and that, listened to what we had done the night before, and said he thought we had fixed our own problem by cleaning the coils; the fridge just hadn't had enough time to get cool enough again. He explained the workings of our fridge and charged $65 for the visit!? He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We were very satisfied. It did take another 15-20 hours to get to the temperatures needed, but it was so comforting to know we had someone we could trust to reassure us we would be all right!

couldn't find or fix washer leak but charged $60. Said to call if leak continued. Called him back but he never returned my call. Kept my $60.00.
We are fairly new to the area and don't know many people. The realtor who sold us our house recommended *** ?? to repair our leaking washer. It was a persistent leak but it wasn't actively leaking when he came over. He took the machine apart but said he couldn't find a problem. He charged $60 for the service call and told me to call back if the leak started again. He said he would waive the service charge next time. Pretty soon the washer started again. I videoed it so I could show ***. I called back and left a message. He never returned my call. I then called him back about a week after his visit to our home. I indicated in my voice mail message that it was apparent he was not going to return my call, that he had taken my money, and he and I were "done." I thought if he was an honest person he would return my call but he never did. I arranged for another appliance service to repair my washer. This all occurred recently during June 2017. The washer is fairly new but out of warranty. It is a Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum. The model is

*** left two voice mail messages for me today (6/29/17). In the first one, he told me "you had better call 'em (Revdex.com) back and tell 'em I made it right." He also said, "You're not telling the truth." The only point about his rationale I can think of here is that *** did eventually call me back, but it was well after my two unreturned calls to him and after I had already filed my concern with the Revdex.com.

I have again reviewed the information I provided to Revdex.com in this matter. It is totally factual.

I hope *** is a good man. He is an older gentleman, and it seems to me that technology may have passed him by. (He may not be as proficient with modern appliances as he may have been with older models in the past, but that's a very subjective view on my part and may not be correct.) Otherwise, he should have been able to conduct certain tests from the beginning to determine what the problem was with the washer. It is also clear to me that *** and I have different views about standards and ethics of the customer/businessperson relationship.

In his phone messages today, *** indicated his service fee was appropriate, but he was returning it to me because of the complaint. I really wish he would simply apologize for the way he has handled this. Returning my phone call, and especially apologizing, would have helped me forgive him and move on. His excuse for not calling me back was that he was out of town. Why could he not have called me back, explained that he was out of town, and tell me he would come by again when he returned. Or, he could have placed an appropriate announcement on his voice mail greeting so customers would know his temporary status.

I wish *** no harm and, in fact, wish him only goodness. I will probably shred his check when I receive it. Even though I can't accept his response because of his failure to recognize his own business and ethical responsibilities, I do want us all to consider this matter closed. I want absolutely nothing from him.

I highly commend the Revdex.com for your active involvement in this matter. It's obvious Revdex.com is not a rubber stamp organization and that you take effective professional actions to help insure business integrity in our region.
