Dear [redacted],Thanks for reaching out through the Revdex.com. We apologize for any miscommunication. Our records indicate that you enrolled in our automatic replenishment program on the [redacted] of July 2015. The terms of the program are clearly stated on the payment page. You contacted us on the [redacted] of December...

to cancel future shipments. I can confirm your account was cancelled immediately. We emailed you on the [redacted] of December to confirm your account has been cancelled. As a gesture of goodwill, we waived two payments totalling $159.90 associated with your third shipment from Advanced Dermatology. Therefore, there is nothing owing. We sent you an email regarding this on the [redacted] of December 2015. Rest assured your account is now closed and there will be no future shipments.  Regards,[redacted] [redacted]

Not an honest business. Avoid.

1. They clearly created a website that acts as an impartial source of information on skin care products. They rate many products with their product being #1.

2. When you purchase their product you get a month's supply. You can return it within 30 days. HOWEVER, when you purchase this supply you are automatically signed up to receive a monthly supply.

3. You are not, in fact, signed up for a monthly supply every month. Instead, after your first monthly trial, you receive a 3 month supply. You cannot return this--you can only return within the first 30 days from your original purchase (the trial supply). If you allow that 3 month's supply to arrive, you WILL be charged $59.99 each month after the first purchase.

4. Try calling their customer service line and expect to wait a half hour.

Overall, I regret even reading their fake review website, and now that I am stuck with their products I don't even want to use them.

Review: The company advertises to customers that they can order a trial of their product. They do not tell customers that purchasing one time means the customer will be sent products monthly and be billed for the products without acknowledging that the customer wanted anything past the trial product. If you don't check your statement regularly, you will not know that they are doing this. I only received the first product, then was charged monthly after that. This is unethical. I complained and told them I wanted to cancel the product and be refunded the money that they charged me. I also informed them that I would be reporting them to the Revdex.com. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. The product is also terrible!Desired Settlement: I would like to be credited for every charge made to me by this company since July 2015.

Review: This company sells skin care products and I used them once before but stopped because they insist that they are doing the 'favor' of spreading out charges so they'll be a regular part of the customer's credit card statements and I disagreed, feeling that they had no place in minding my spending habits. I discontinued using them about one year ago and we left it at that.In February of this year I received an email stating that they wanted to bring customers back and offered a 'special' with a one time charge of $49.95. Thinking (and hoping) that they had wised up, I went for it. The charge appeared and was paid. My newest credit card statement appeared and there they were again.I called the company and was told I must have 'misunderstood' so I opened the offering email again and read it back to the woman on the phone and told her I most certainly did check and did not in any way authorize them to post monthly charges to my account. She had to check and a subsequent email told me they were sorry to lose me and would immediately try to post any charges they thought were due to my account.I contacted my credit card company and initiated a dispute with them which I believe will resolve the immediate issues, but which will not slow this company's horrendous practices down.Desired Settlement: This company tells consumers that it is 'helping' and 'saving money' for them by spreading their charges out and dipping their hands into the consumers wallets on a monthly basis. Even when one does not agree to this they go ahead and post charges - I had during my first bout with them told them to charge me the full amount for anything I purchased and I would handle my credit card account and payments without their assistance.Their practices are deceptive.

Response:

I have received a response to a complaint I filed regarding Advanced Dermatology, whose main office is on [redacted]. in NY. I have tried to respond twice and for reasons that are beyond me, the responses are not going through - so I hope this email can be accepted in lieu of going through your system. At no time had any email received from this company provided a floor number, much less a suite number, sorry. I attach an email that confirmed my recent order and that clearly shows a one time charge would apply, not the second and, ultimately, third that they would want. Since filing this complaint I received further emails from the vendor claiming that I 'should have known' they would do this nonsense again - which I have rebuffed as ludicrous as I am not a mind reader and there was nothing in writing to specify that their ridiculous practices would be applied - and a second shipment that I have given them 24 hours to provide a return code for before I mark it as 'return to sender' and then do so on their dime. Please do whatever you can to stop these people before there are thousands of consumers contributing to their monthly billing who will be unable to determine what, if anything, they're paying for in a very short time. I do check my bills every month and so caught the game early but many folks do not and they'll get caught in the spiderweb quickly. If there are any other agencies with whom I should file a complaint, if only to bring this company's name and practices to light, please let me know. Thank you for being there! [redacted]

Response:

At this time, my complaint, ID [redacted] regarding Advanced Dermatology has been resolved.

I tried to reply via your website but I just don't seem to be able to get anywhere with that so I'm emailing regarding your request as to the status of my complaint. The complaint has been resolved in that Advanced Dermatology has refunded my money. Whether they've done anything to address their horrendous marketing practices is unknown to me. I'm sorry that they've chosen to ignore you rather than deal with the complaint in a more open manner and I thank you for being there as obtaining a refund would surely have been far more difficult without your intervention. Please note this information on your website and mark this complaint as closed. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. [redacted]

First of all, the product’s results do not compare to their advertisements (please see a review from the Revdex.com). The products have done no more for my skin that any other over-the-counter products.
Secondly, I have placed numerous calls to 888-983-2703 in order to cancel my account. No agent has ever picked up my call. I had to listen to a continuous recorded message while on hold for as long as 25 minutes.
Thirdly, I have received three shipments from the company. My credit card statements show that the company charged me as follows:
1. 8/27/15 $79.95
2. 9/27/15 $79.95
3. 10/27/15 $79.95
4. 11/27/15 $79.95
My understanding was that after trying 30-day trial kit, if you wished to continue with a replenishment program (which is auto-billed and auto-shipped) the company would ship me a 90-day kit, instead of the 30-day kit, and bill $79.95 per 90-day kit.
I also thought that the 90-day supply would be 3 times the 30-day supply, but it is not.
For the 30-day trial kit I paid $79.95. The sizes of the Trial kit are: 50ml for the cleanser and 15ml for the rest of the regimen except for the Eye Cream, which is 7.5ml.
Therefore, the 90-day kit and sizes would have to be 120ml for the cleanser and 30ml for the rest of the regimen except for the Eye Cream, which is 15ml.
I thought the 90-day supply was shipped and billed every 90 days, but it is not. In fact I paid for a 90-day kit 3X$79.95 or $239.85 in total. A very high price compared to similar brands with similar ingredients.
The price tag and the way they sell their products is confusing and frustrating since the 90-day supply is far from being the equivalent of a 30 day supply kit times 3. Also, you have to purchase a "kit" rather than individual products.
