We've been using Poolman services for 7+ months now and are very satisfied with their serviceOut technician is reliable and knowledgeableThe region manager is responsive to our needsAbove all, our pool looks great
We've been with Poolman for many years and never had any real complaints, but the past years they would stop treating the chemicals in the winter and they tell us it was our fault and we needed to drain the pool I would do the chemicals myself and everything's good for another year This year, 2017, we've had algae growing for several weeks and despite our calls they haven't done anything about it except stop balancing the chemical again Frustrated, I put in new filters and was told they would come do a backwash today He came and didn't do a backwash but said he did and that service dept will call about replacing filters that were just replaced 10-days ago Had they replaced them when I asked them to I might be a bit more tolerant Also said the chems were good, which by my test aren't Enough is enough If their customers mean that little to them they should not be in business I feel like a fool for wasting money on people who don't do their job Forget the good years, I will never say anything good about this company again
We obtained Poolman services back in the spring, had their salt system installed and experienced issues from that point on with customer service, communication, effective cleaning of our pool, honesty/integrity and charging The salt system for several months did not test to appropriate levels of chemicals as well as our pool turned green on multiple occasions With working from home as well as a stay at home dad and a mother helping out, we would see the servicing of our pool each week It was comical to see that each new tech sent out struggled to open out pool fence, they thought it was locked but you had to push a button on the lever AND pull up at the same time The pool tech would then remain no more than minutes, indicate they checked chem level, empty baskets, backwash and sweep Each week, one or more of these services were incomplete or done inefficiently Once escalated, it was confirmed by multiple layers of management that there were issues with the salt system as well as their technicians not cleaning the pool to expectation I asked for transparency and if something doesn't look right for the tech to escalate - the management and customer service manager agreed The management team took over cleaning our pool for a few weeks, refunding charges for partial cleaning and things improved until last week Once again, another issue Our pool was last serviced 8/and when I called, the agent told me 9/was the last service date, so I continued to ask questions I asked how is that possible, the pool wasn't swept, the chlorine tablets weren't present, the baskets were full, etc She then looked at our file and said, the tech couldn't open our fence This was icing on the cake, each week - if a new tech was sent, they struggled to open our Katch-a-Kid pool fence...the tech would knocked on our window or back door and if we didnt answer they would call our cells to ask for help but this tech just chose to leave and not service our pool BUT we were charged for service Today, I call to cancel services and the agent said 'I cant waive that charge, I'm not authorized and I need to get permission.' I cant help but be amused that a pool company cant open a pool fence, they don't service my pool AND then they charge me Enough is enough We had high hopes for Poolman since our neighbors recommended them as they do chemical servicing only for their pool, however it seems as if the individuals chosen to service the pools is where the issues lie and then the overall management team has opportunities if those they employ struggle to meet expectations but continue to have a position within the company and are the face of the brand
I am submitting my review because I my pools personal and (rental properties) have been serviced by poolman for over years
I have their service to be wonderfulThere technicians do a wonderful jobIf I have a question they are there to answer the question and take care of the problem
I am very luck because I have not had any issues

I have had such a TERRIBLE experience with Poolman I have been a customer for years I have not been able to swim in my pool for about a month The last technician did NOTHING and was let go By the time another technician began, my pool was already green and I was adding chemicals (poolman is supposed to) The added so many chemicals to balance the water that it has been unsafe to swim for the last weeks (it is the hottest part of the year right now) The vacuum now needs a part and they want to charge me $to fix it! I have asked for a credit or anything (seeing how it is their fault that my pool went green to begin with), and they have refused So I have paid monthly for a green pool that I cannot swim in and now have to pay full price for a part (they probably have spare parts as they are a pool business) WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!
I hired Poolman about a year ago hoping a bigger company would be a more stable solution to the neighborhood pool guysAnd I wanted a salt water systemThis is the WORST pool company I have worked with in yearsThey never have steady help and the pool boy coming weekly (if they show up) is always different and rarely follows directionsI had a BIG dog who was very protective and I had specific instructions to CALL me or text BEFORE going in my yard On at least a half dozen times, they came in the yard anyway and my dog chased them Communication is terrible They often left the pool fence open or the gate unlocked and I have a one and year old in the house - very dangerousLast week my pump was making a lot of noiseI wrote a note to the pool guy - no reply other than he left a slip stating that he cleaned the basket and did something else although the pool was not cleaned (he was there ten minutes) They rarely would clean the spa so it was always dirty, a result of being lazy I had to CALL THEM about the pool pump and finally someone told me the options of a $repair or $replacementI decided to drain the pool and remodel it entirelyI have waited a week and today I get an email from Maria in "Customer Service": She said: "My apologies, we were just informed this week we will no longer be draining plaster pools Therefore, we cannot drain the pool and will need to be treated with chemicals to clear once the pool equipment is fixed" WHAT POOL COMPANY ON EARTH WON'T DRAIN A POOL? That is ridiculous And what about the Revdex.com rating of A+ for this company who has a 71% NEGATIVE CUSTOMER REVIEW RATING (its going to be higher after this complaint) YOU'RE FIRED POOLMAN! *** *** (I'm going to hire ** *** *** *** - they are efficient and professionalThey maintain pools and build pools)
Really like the way they come and clean our pool very unmotivated and always answer my question no matter what it is .Very good rates also Would recommend Poolman to all my friends and family that have a pool
Our property management company uses this pool service We live out of state, the tenant thought the pool was leaking and couldn't get Poolman to respond Months later they confirmed there was a leak, but no one seemed to know where it was when we asked We asked for a estimate to repair leak
Poolman came back with a plus estimate to basically remodel the pool
They said the couldn't service the pool until "repairs" we're made, as the pool wasn't holding the chemicals! Utter nonsense!
They were holding our pool hostage trying to force us in spending unnecessary money
We are having a different company look for the leak and repair, then we will find another pool service to do the weekly cleaning/maintenance for our tenant
It's been nothing but trouble with these people, I would not recommend them to anyone
I Have been a customer with Poolman for almost years now and can say that I am more than satisfied with the services the company providesI also need to say that I have received excellent service from the technicians that have worked on my accountThey have always greeted me with a smile and friendly conversationI have developed a good relationship, actually, friendship with Chris, my account manager, over the past yearsI feel that I can trust all of my service needs to Chris and he is always helpful answering my questions.....and I have plenty being a first-time pool owner His attitude truly reflects that he enjoys his job
If I could post pictures here, I would show the $5,worth of acid spill damage running from my pool, back porch, down my dogrun, and all the way down my driveway to the technicians parking spot, all caused from a routine pool cleaningAfter arguing with manager, to managers manager, to boss, with them for over a month they finally admitted that this was caused by them and they refused to fix the damage, saying that the most effort they were willing to do was give me a few months free service and otherwise I could fix it myselfUse at your own riskI will never make that mistake againI can't believe I paid them for this
Patrick our pool tech is the most reliable pool tech we have ever had! He is hard working and extremely dependableIf there is ever an issue even at 5am he's available and ready to assistPoolman is a better company because of employees like himRuss one of the managers is so personable and strives the make our experience with the company a positive oneIf Patrick doesn't know the answer (which is very rare) Russ will! We jave jad tjem out to finish or reclean so many times I lost count We jave sevurity cameras and they veryify that they didnt do what they said they didWe canceled our service with themI had to go reset the valvesThey did not back wash poolAnd I reattached pool cleaner and got everything working againIf there was something lower than a I would use thatI wont ever revommemd them and will be making sure when they come to get the salt water equipment that I am watching them They changed out the sand in filter and didn't use the cement to seal the pvcI had to do it
