Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I'm going to give this one last try and have photographic proof to back up my claims with the Revdex.com As the customerI do not feel that Advantage Moving and Storage has made a very good faith effort at all as they claimI expect out of any service company good customer serviceI in good faith trusted them with my personal life belongingsIn good faith, I took Greg C***, the Owner at his word when he gave me his quoteI looked at their website and took them at their word( [redacted] ) My brother had a great experience with this company three years ago and had no problemsSo from a personal family reference - I, in good faith trusted they would do a good job, and they didn'tAs a customer, I believe I am entitled to a discount off of the bill greater than the one they gave me because I have a myriad of objects broken and damaged because of the poor service they providedI would at the very least want money for the damages to cover ALL OF my damages so I can replace/fix what was brokenI also feel that as a single female, they took advantage of me and robbed me of my hard earned moneyHad I been a large, muscular male, and police officer, such as my brother, I wouldn't likely be having to justify my claims with the Revdex.comThere wouldn't have been any issuesI in good faith with back up my claims below and prove why I believe, in good faith Advantage Moving and Storage should compensate me for the damages they createdThey may not be "legally bound to this" but as a company who has Revdex.com complaints, and within the last year (which I only found out about after they did my job - after I in good faith trusted them) they might want to reconsider and not have a 21st complaint with another negative reviewI also have a pretty large social circle in the [redacted] / [redacted] / [redacted] Area and business best happens by word of mouth (such as my mother and brother claiming years ago what a great job they did)All my friends, family, and acquaintences know I movedThey will be asking about mover references in the futureIf Advantage Moving and Storage is not willing to compromise and meet me in the middle - to at least cover their damages, even at the extremely low rate of $cents per pound per itemI will be moving forward in telling people to NEVER EVER use their services based off of my experiences with this companyThey can take that in good faith that I will follow through on my wordTheir website claims: "Advantage Moving & Storage, home to one of the absolute lowest rates and finest local full-service moving and hauling services in ConnecticutOur team of moving professionals can handle almost any jobIt doesn’t matter if it’s a commercial or a residential project, we can handle your move without the need for an agentPlus, we can do full packing, unpacking, supplies and service."I did not receive professionals, but day laborers claiming they were on a cash jobI received a team of people who took breaks before they even got the job started(They started at 9:and right after the walkthrough took a smoking break for min- on my dime) Not hours into the job, they took another 20-min break and disappeared to where I had to peek into the truck to see what they were doing for them to get moving againThroughout the process they were on their phones Talking to me, my parents, and having a lot more downtime than I expected out of a professional moving serviceI understand people need to take breaksThey are not robotsHowever they dogged the job to inflate my rate, and I'd like to get it back down to near the quoted priceI was quoted $and expected to pay something within that +/- $plus tipNot $plus tipAdvantage Moving and Storage claims on their website: "Unlike the competition, we take pride in providing excellent services at practically unbeatable pricesIn fact, not only do we promise one of the lowest rates on any move, but we also pledge to give you the most impeccable service out there Our movers are: Experienced Hardworking Clean-Cut Plus, we understand that moving is more than a job—it’s an art form."My movers were NOT ExperiencedNOT Hardworking and NOT Clean-CutThe talkative and most lackadaisical mover who was always on his phone and talking to us looked like he rolled out of bedAt the end of the job he even claimed he was at 7% charge on his phone as he was talking to Greg to get the price for my invoiceHe and another young guy had their pants to their knees and I wondered how they moved everything in the first place with their pants like thatThe taller one who drove the truck and assembled my bed was really the only professional on the job and seemed to take it seriously...and even he I saw had my TV in the rain and it wasn't coveredAdvantage Moving and Storage claims on their website: At Advantage Moving & Storage, we understand that what we haul are your life possessionsYour possessions are everything you have worked hard to acquireThese objects represent you, so it’s only natural that you want them to be handled with care and respect To show our commitment to you, we are fully licensed and insuredYou can rest easier knowing you are in good handsBut that’s not all—we also have one of the absolute lowest rates, so you rest even easier knowing that you will save hundreds of dollars. When obtaining my quote on 11/7/15, I took MrC [redacted] at his word that he was fully insuredThis lead me to believe that if something was broken, they would fix or replace it I was not informed at the quote, nor was I informed on the website that they are INSURED AT THE LEGAL MINIMUM at $per pound per item This was not disclosed until I signed the invoice and had no choice but to accept that rate because I had to sign the paperworkIf I didn't sign the paperwork, a) the movers wouldn't leave, or they could claim that I was a faulty payer and it could hit my creditThis is a shoddy way to force your clients into submissionIt's also a shoddy way to run a businessI feel it is dishonestWhen it comes to the third moverIn an earlier Revdex.com message, MrC [redacted] indicated he added on the third mover because of an "Act of God"...the impending rainstormIt's my understanding that an "Act of God" indicates something treacherous that impedes the jobSuch as a hurricane, tornado or snowstormOne would assume that if you added three guys to the job, the job would take less time, not moreHe also said a third mover was added because he was worried my items would get damaged in the rainHowever my items weren't even covered from the rain and they were damaged! I don't believe MrC***'s claim holds waterHis charging me $extra for the job is not warranted because it wasn't an approved changed to the verbally binding agreement, and as a courtesy, if he did feel it was needed that a third guy get hired on, he should've given me at least a heads up so I could make sure I had enough money to cover a third man As a single woman on a budget, this hit me as a blow to have to take on a third mover and I felt it was unfair practiceWhile I don't agree with his decision to do this, and I understand he needs to pay his laborer, as lackadaisical a job he did, I'd like MrC [redacted] to give me the courtesy and meet me in the middleI ask for a discount on this $chargeSomething back even if it is not the full amountHe is not legally obligated to give this to me, but I'd like it as a courtesy because he wasn't honest with his quote/contractIn the attached PDF are my original notes from the conversation on 11/7/Mr C [redacted] is a fast talkerSo fast that the first time he spoke to me, I had to ask him to slow down so I could take down the information he was presenting to me so I knew what I was expected to pay him upon delivery of his servicesThese notes are honest to the day I wrote themFor the Revdex.com's review I'm also enclosing the invoice with the notation in point font at the bottom of their invoice of their limit of liability I'm also enclosing the claim form that only covers my Kitchen Table, my TV Table and my TVMy TV is at the incorrect weight howeverMy TV is a 42" TV and they indicated a 36" or less TV, which would be less weight Enclosed is a PDF itemizing and documenting with photo proof all of my belongings that were damaged in the moveI don't agree with MrC***'s rate of $per pound per item, but if this is the case, I expect at least this amount on the items I have not yet been compensated for1) Couches2) Bedframe 3) Coffee Table4) Computer Desk5) End Table6) Kitchen Table (received reimbursement for this.) 7) Broken Floor Lamp8) Small Desk9) 42" TV (Received partial reimbursementI'd like the rate that is for a 42" and not a less than 36") 10) TV Table (received reimbursement for this.) 11) Vintage Typecase (Worth $50) I am willing to close this Revdex.com case on my end if MrC [redacted] pays me the $per pound per item on the items above damaged in the move not already compensated forIf he does meet me in the middle, I won't write any negative reviews and I'm willing to let this goIf he refuses to be a good steward and put the customer first in his business dealings, I will be writing negative reviews, I will blast his company on social media and through word of mouth interactions and I will push this case further on to the CT Office of Consumer Protection so they can see how many Revdex.com complaints they have received in recent years and look into their dishonest business dealingsThank you for your time and attention to this matter(Please see Attached PDF File) Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response for a few reasons: 1) I want my money back for the third moverThe Owner of Advantage Moving and Storage States in his rebuttal:"We put additional manpower on that day due to Severe Rain to Decrease Labor TimeThe hourly rate went up but Time went down with additional manpowerThis was NEEDED due to weather issues, which are Acts of God and We are Not liable for, or all of her items would have been water damaged."However - this was not something I had agreed upon in the original verbal agreement on November 7, when the Owner made his quoteWhenever doing business and you have a contract, you have to inform the client of changes before proceeding furtherThe verbal agreement is a binding agreementI was not informed until I saw the third man come in that day, and until he handed the paperwork to me to be signedThe Owner claims that I agreed to it upon signing the job invoice, but I was not given any choiceThe guys wouldn't leave until I signedThis is poor business practice and I want to be reimbursed what I am owedI was charged $119/hr instead of the originally quoted $99/hrI am claiming $+ tip for thatEspecially since the time went UP with the additional manpowerI had expected them to be out in 4-hours and they dragged it on to hours The added on man had disclosed to my family that he was working a cash job and that he just started there three weeks agoHe spent more time dogging it - chatting with us, on his phone, than he had been moving my belongingsMost especially because my items were never covered from the rain!!! My couches, my lamp, my TV - everything went in the rain when I expected them to be protected and coveredI even have photos of watermarks and debris on those itemsI was promised in the original verbal agreement with the Owner that I would have my furniture protected2) I was paid a check of $for $per pound Liability coverageThis very low amount was not stated in the original contractThis is poor business practice as wellIt is listed in point font at the bottom of the invoiceAs the client - I wasn't given a choice to dispute it as it was the time I had to sign and the movers had to leaveIf I rejected it - the movers would've gotten highly defensive and I anticipated it would've caused a problemAny other time I made a claim with the movers during the moving process - about my TV being in the rain, - about my TV table being nicked - they were defensive and it wasn't worth my time to argue with them when I could then handle it with their managementWhen I even questioned it - they poo-poohed me saying "Well this is what it is."...well this is not what I agreed to, and I'm not satisfied with the job they did and want money backI would like to add that I've made efforts to call the Owner of Advantage Moving and Storage on Multiple Occasions between Monday 11/and Thursday 12/3/today, at various times of the day and I have yet to have anyone answer my phone callsI have a feeling he is screening his phone and ignoring me3) I am claiming more than what he gave me on his Damage Claim InventoryWhen I emailed the Owner of Advantage Moving and Storage, I had also included photos of a coffee table and an end table that were highly gougedSince then I have unpacked more materials and inspected all of my other furniture and have found:a) A broken floor lampI went to twist the knob to turn it on and it is bent, rendering it uselessb) Another bent floor lamp - it is leaning when it used to stand straight and I can't get it to go back upright againc) Gouges in my bedframe, and huge black stains/marks on the back of it that weren't there before the move.d) Multiple Gouges in my computer desk - on the sliding drawer, up at the top as well as at the foot.e) Multiple Gouges in my regular desk at the corner at on the feet.f) a damaged vintage type drawer worth $50-- one of the areas that held the type is completely brokenYou can't replace those anymoreI'd like a reimbursement for those items as wellI have photos to back these up as well and I am willing to provide upon requestIf I don't see a more fair solution I will be pursuing this further with the Dept of Consumer Protection and my Attorney Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: ***Hi ***, Business bureau will not do anything with regards to this? I thought business bureau was a method to help the public with businesses that are abusing rightsI don't understand how can a company pay $12, for a brand new item worth $200, which we have a recent receipt of, when it was stolen under company/employee managementIf this company has a record already of similar issue, how can they continue get away with this? What can we do to have them pay? Is it necessary to go to court and state that we reported to business bureau and nothing was done?Sincerely,*** ***

Again, We have already paid this customer for everything we are liable forThe insurance coverage is $per pund per article and that is all we are liable forWe understand customer is not satisfied with this, but that does not make us liable for any more than what she was covered for, and that has already been paid to customer, prior to this Revdex.com complaintWe are not liable for anything elseWe have already made good faith effort to close this issue prior to this complaint being opened

We never received this email from the companyWe checked twice and there were no responsse. We would like to reopen the case, this company is responsible for the missing item as the movers ADMITTED leaving unsupervised items by the elevators instead of taking items directly to the truck as they were taking them out of the apartmentWe did not leave anything unorganized as they claim, everything was boxed and ready for them to takeThe movers did not want to make too many trips to the truck so they were leaving items at a public place unsupervised and did NOT mention it to us so someone could go watch the itemsWhen we hired the company it was for things to be taken from the apartment to the truck and from the truck to the next apartmentIf things were going to be left unsupervised and in a public place where so many people go by, we should have been notified. We questioned the movers and they admitted that the item could have been stolen by someone elseThey claim they never thought someone could have took the itemsThey have to pay in full for not doing their job correctly, they were suppose to bring the items directly to the truck and they failed to thatWhen I reported the item and told them how much it was, they said not to worry that I would get refundedThey paid me per lb for a damaged item totaling $when we had a recent receipt of the item for $Their claim stated it was for a damaged item, and we reported it was a refund for a stolen item, nothing was damagedThis company has other claim with business bureaus for similar problems, damaged and missing itemsIt is impossible that they can continue to walk away from this problems by paying such an insulting amount of money to their customersPlus we never signed on a paper stating I agreed to be paid a ridiculous amount of money if something was lost or stolen as they say in the email belowThe only signature they asked us for was stating the total of the move and that they completed their job, unless they added other wording on the papers and failed to tell usI would like to solve this through business bureaus, but we are so aggrevated by the situation that we see our selves close to taking this to court as their are many other complaints on business bureau for this company which means that they are definitely not their jobs correctlyI insist that something needs to be doneI also forgot to mention that there were not multiple items missing as they stated on their emailI stated I could not find two items, the pots and a tablet, but as I was unpacking I immediately reported that the tablet was foundThe pots was the only item that was reported missing as they were walking out of the complexNothing was unorganized as they claim, there were not multiple items as they sayI would greatly appreciate your help on this matterThanks in advance!

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
Sincerely,
*** ***

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Had the company listened when we called and told them how much we had or if they came out to look they would've known they needed a bigger truck or two trucks! If they had a bigger truck to start it would have been the same amount of time maybe even less. All the time spent was figuring what to take or leave and trying to fit it as much as we could in a small truck. We hired them to move ALL of our things. It was the company that is at fault for not doing their job! They should have called that day and had another truck there. Not to mention I've never seen slower movers in my whole life and we were even kind enough to tip them. I hope Advantage will just accept their fault so we can all move on and I can get the rest of my things. Thank you!
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me PENDING receiving the check from the company and finding it to be a reasonable amount.. I however do not appreciate the falsified response from the company. I have supporting emails from the company letting them know I was unhappy with the first check amount considering the amount of damage and told them I would NOT cash it because of this. They are the ones in supporting email who told me to cash the first check and they would send me another. They blatantly lied stating they sent out an additional check because clearly in their latest response they did not mention that which is very unprofessional. I will accept the 2nd check as I am entitled that they originally promised to me BUT I will not close out this complaint until I have received it because like before their word is untrustworthy. I also will only accept the 2nd check if I find it to be within reason of the damages THEY caused. If I do not find it to be within reason I will continue to pursue this. I have supporting photographs of all damages along with the weight of items (which is how they base their refunds). If they were more careful and responsible as a company this problem could have been avoided. I have cc'd the moving company also. Thank you.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

This item has been delivered today. Customer should have in possession. We have already informed customer prior to this complaint that we were trying to fed ex it to her but couldnt because of the items description and loose items inside, so we had it delivered by one of our drivers. Thank you.

This customer is fully liable for everycharge of this move and no refund is due. This is an hourly service she contracted us for, an was aware about. Customer greatly underestimated size of job and therefore took much much longer to complete. Also the addtitional inventory she is talking about to be...

moved, would have taken even more time and cost more money. This is an hourly moving service and time is charged for whatever time job takes. Are men continously worked at a steady pace and did the best they could for her. Just because she added on a ton of inventory does not mean it can be moved in the same amount of time. The more inventory, the longer it takes, and this is an hourly service. We are not refunding customer money for actual work time, and we are not liable to pay customer for time to have addtitional work done that she did not have done already. That would have been more inventory and again, even more money, because this is an hourly service. Customer was only charged for actual job working time and absoluty no refund is due. We apologize for the customer disatisfaction but that does not make us liable for any refund. Thank you.

We aplogize for the customer disatisfaction but we are still not liable for any refund because all of the extra services the customer is requesting, (move additional items, bring another truck), all cost addtional money and time. This was an hourly service and we only charged customer for actual job time and our men worked at a steady pace. If customer had told us that she had as much additional inventory as she did then what she originally stated we would have went with a larger truck, but that still would have been more money because of the time to move the addtitional items. We do apoogize again to the customer for their disatisfaction. Thank you.

We have already sent this customer refund check to close out all issues with this move. Customer has cashed check already and then customer said they wanted even more refund, eventhough we already sent her payment. We will agree to an additional one time refund courtesy check to close out additional...

complaint with customer. Payment will be processed and sent within 10 - 15 business days. Thank you.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response for a few reasons: 1) I want my money back for the third mover. The Owner of Advantage Moving and Storage States in his rebuttal:"We
put additional manpower on that day due to Severe Rain to Decrease
Labor Time. The hourly rate went up but Time went down with additional
manpower. This was NEEDED due to weather issues, which are Acts of God
and We are Not liable for, or all of her items would have been water
damaged."However - this was not something I had agreed upon in the original verbal agreement on November 7, 2015 when the Owner made his quote. Whenever doing business and you have a contract, you have to inform the client of changes before proceeding further. The verbal agreement is a binding agreement. I was not informed until I saw the third man come in that day, and until he handed the paperwork to me to be signed. The Owner claims that I agreed to it upon signing the job invoice, but I was not given any choice. The guys wouldn't leave until I signed. This is poor business practice and I want to be reimbursed what I am owed. I was charged $119/hr instead of the originally quoted $99/hr. I am claiming $145 + 30 tip for that. Especially since the time went UP with the additional manpower. I had expected them to be out in 4-5 hours and they dragged it on to 7.25 hours.  The added on man had disclosed to my family that he was working a cash job and that he just started there three weeks ago. He spent more time dogging it - chatting with us, on his phone, than he had been moving my belongings. Most especially because my items were never covered from the rain!!! My couches, my lamp, my TV - everything went in the rain when I expected them to be protected and covered. I even have photos of watermarks and debris on those items. I was promised in the original verbal agreement with the Owner that I would have my furniture protected. 2) I was paid a check of $102 for $.60 per pound Liability coverage. This very low amount was not stated in the original contract. This is poor business practice as well. It is listed in 8 point font at the bottom of the invoice. As the client - I wasn't given a choice to dispute it as it was the time I had to sign and the movers had to leave. If I rejected it - the movers would've gotten highly defensive and I anticipated it would've caused a problem. Any other time I made a claim with the movers during the moving process - about my TV being in the rain, - about my TV table being nicked - they were defensive and it wasn't worth my time to argue with them when I could then handle it with their management. When I even questioned it - they poo-poohed me saying "Well this is what it is."...well this is not what I agreed to, and I'm not satisfied with the job they did and want money back. I would like to add that I've made efforts to call the Owner of Advantage Moving and Storage on Multiple Occasions between Monday 11/30 and Thursday 12/3/15 today, at various times of the day and I have yet to have anyone answer my phone calls. I have a feeling he is screening his phone and ignoring me. 3) I am claiming more than what he gave me on his Damage Claim Inventory. When I emailed the Owner of Advantage Moving and Storage, I had also included photos of a coffee table and an end table that were highly gouged. Since then I have unpacked more materials and inspected all of my other furniture and have found:a) A broken floor lamp. I went to twist the knob to turn it on and it is bent, rendering it useless. b) Another bent floor lamp - it is leaning when it used to stand straight and I can't get it to go back upright againc) Gouges in my bedframe, and huge black stains/marks on the back of it that weren't there before the move.d) Multiple Gouges in my computer desk - on the sliding drawer, up at the top as well as at the foot.e) Multiple Gouges in my regular desk at the corner at on the feet.f) a damaged vintage type drawer worth $50-100 - one of the areas that held the type is completely broken. You can't replace those anymore. I'd like a reimbursement for those items as well. I have photos to back these up as well and I am willing to provide upon request. If I don't see a more fair solution I will be pursuing this further with the Dept of Consumer Protection and my Attorney.
Sincerely,
