Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I'm going to give this one
last try and have photographic proof to back up my claims with the Revdex.com.
As the customer. I do not feel that Advantage Moving and Storage has made a very good faith effort at all as they claim. I expect out of any service company good customer service. I in good faith trusted them with my personal life belongings. In good faith, I took Greg C[redacted], the Owner at his word when he gave me his quote. I looked at their website and took them at their word. ([redacted])
My brother had a great experience with this company three years ago and
had no problems. So from a personal family reference - I, in good faith
trusted they would do a good job, and they didn't. As a customer, I
believe I am entitled to a discount off of the bill greater than the one
they gave me because I have a myriad of objects broken and damaged
because of the poor service they provided. I would at the very least want money for the damages to cover ALL OF my damages so I can replace/fix what was broken. I
also feel that as a single female, they took advantage of me and robbed
me of my hard earned money. Had I been a large, muscular male, and
police officer, such as my brother, I wouldn't likely be having to
justify my claims with the Revdex.com. There wouldn't have been any issues. I in good faith with back up my claims below and prove why I believe, in good faith Advantage Moving and Storage
should compensate me for the damages they created. They may not be
"legally bound to this" but as a company who has 20 Revdex.com complaints, and 5
within the last year (which I only found out about after they did my
job - after I in good faith trusted them) they might want to reconsider
and not have a 21st complaint with another negative review. I also have a
pretty large social circle in the [redacted] Area
and business best happens by word of mouth (such as my mother and
brother claiming 3 years ago what a great job they did). All my friends,
family, and acquaintences know I moved. They will be asking about mover
references in the future. If Advantage Moving and Storage is not
willing to compromise and meet me in the middle - to at least cover
their damages, even at the extremely low rate of $.60 cents per pound
per item... I will be moving forward in telling people to NEVER EVER use their services based off of my experiences with this company. They can take that in good faith that I will follow through on my word. Their website claims: "Advantage Moving & Storage, home to one of the
absolute lowest rates and finest local full-service moving and hauling
services in Connecticut. Our team of moving professionals can handle
almost any job. It doesn’t matter if it’s a commercial or a residential
project, we can handle your move without the need for an agent. Plus, we
can do full packing, unpacking, supplies and service."I did
not receive professionals, but day laborers claiming they were on a
cash job. I received a team of people who took breaks before they even
got the job started. (They started at 9:45 and right after the
walkthrough took a smoking break for 15 min. - on my dime) Not 1.5 hours
into the job, they took another 20-25 min break and disappeared to
where I had to peek into the truck to see what they were doing for them
to get moving again. Throughout the process they were on their phones.
Talking to me, my parents, and having a lot more downtime than I
expected out of a professional moving service. I understand people need
to take breaks. They are not robots. However they dogged the job to inflate my rate, and I'd like to get it back down to near the quoted price. I was quoted $447.48 and expected to pay something within that +/- $100 plus tip. Not $862 plus tip. Advantage Moving and Storage claims on their website:      "Unlike the competition, we take pride in providing excellent services
at practically unbeatable prices. In fact, not only do we promise one
of the lowest rates on any move, but we   also pledge to give you the most
impeccable service out there.
   Our movers are:
   Experienced   Hardworking   Clean-Cut
Plus, we understand that moving is more than a job—it’s an art form."My movers were NOT Experienced. NOT Hardworking and NOT Clean-Cut. The
talkative and most lackadaisical mover who was always on his phone and
talking to us looked like he rolled out of bed. At the end of the job he
even claimed he was at 7% charge on his phone as he was talking to Greg
to get the price for my invoice. He and another young guy had their
pants to their knees and I wondered how they moved everything in the
first place with their pants like that. The taller one who drove the
truck and assembled my bed was really the only professional on the job
and seemed to take it seriously...and even he I saw had my TV in the
rain and it wasn't covered. Advantage Moving and Storage claims on their website:      At Advantage Moving & Storage, we understand that what we haul are
your life possessions. Your possessions are everything you have worked
hard to acquire. These objects represent you, so it’s only natural that
you want them to be handled with care and respect.     To show our
commitment to you, we are fully licensed and insured. You can rest
easier knowing you are in good hands. But that’s not all—we also have one of the absolute lowest rates, so you rest even easier knowing that you will save hundreds of dollars. When
obtaining my quote on 11/7/15, I took Mr. C[redacted] at his word that he
was fully insured. This lead me to believe that if something was broken,
they would fix or replace it.  I was not informed at the quote, nor was
I informed on the website that they are INSURED AT THE LEGAL MINIMUM at $0.60 per pound per item.
This was not disclosed until I signed the invoice and had no choice but
to accept that rate because I had to sign the paperwork. If I didn't
sign the paperwork, a) the movers wouldn't leave, or they could claim
that I was a faulty payer and it could hit my credit. This is a shoddy
way to force your clients into submission. It's also a shoddy way to run
a business. I feel it is dishonest. When it comes to the third
mover. In an earlier Revdex.com message, Mr. C[redacted] indicated he added on the
third mover because of an "Act of God"...the impending rainstorm. It's
my understanding that an "Act of God" indicates something treacherous
that impedes the job. Such as a hurricane, tornado or snowstorm. One
would assume that if you added three guys to the job, the job would take
less time, not more. He also said a third mover was added because he
was worried my items would get damaged in the rain. However my items
weren't even covered from the rain and they were damaged! I don't
believe Mr. C[redacted]'s claim holds water. His charging me $145 extra for
the job is not warranted because it wasn't an approved changed to the
verbally binding agreement, and as a courtesy, if he did feel it was
needed that a third guy get hired on, he should've given me at least a
heads up so I could make sure I had enough money to cover a third man.
As a single woman on a budget, this hit me as a blow to have to take on a
third mover and I felt it was unfair practice. While I don't
agree with his decision to do this, and I understand he needs to pay
his laborer, as lackadaisical a job he did, I'd like Mr. C[redacted] to give
me the courtesy and meet me in the middle. I ask for a discount on this
$145 charge. Something back even if it is not the full amount. He is not
legally obligated to give this to me, but I'd like it as a courtesy
because he wasn't honest with his quote/contract. In the
attached PDF are my original notes from the conversation on 11/7/15. Mr.
C[redacted] is a fast talker. So fast that the first time he spoke to me, I
had to ask him to slow down so I could take down the information he was
presenting to me so I knew what I was expected to pay him upon delivery
of his services. These notes are honest to the day I wrote them. For
the Revdex.com's review I'm also enclosing the invoice with the notation in 8
point font at the bottom of their invoice of their limit of liability.
I'm also enclosing the claim form that only covers my Kitchen Table, my
TV Table and my TV. My TV is at the incorrect weight however. My TV is a
42" TV and they indicated a 36" or less TV, which would be less weight.
Enclosed is a PDF itemizing and documenting with photo proof
all of my belongings that were damaged in the move. I don't agree with
Mr. C[redacted]'s rate of $.60 per pound per item, but if this is the case, I
expect at least this amount on the items I have not yet been
compensated for. 1) Couches2) Bedframe 3) Coffee Table4) Computer Desk5) End Table6) Kitchen Table (received reimbursement for this.) 7) Broken Floor Lamp8) Small Desk9) 42" TV (Received partial reimbursement. I'd like the rate that is for a 42" and not a less than 36") 10) TV Table (received reimbursement for this.) 11) Vintage Typecase (Worth $50) I
am willing to close this Revdex.com case on my end if Mr. C[redacted] pays me the
$.60 per pound per item on the items above damaged in the move not
already compensated for. If he does meet me in the middle, I won't write
any negative reviews and I'm willing to let this go. If he
refuses to be a good steward and put the customer first in his business
dealings, I will be writing negative reviews, I will blast his company
on social media and through word of mouth interactions and I will push
this case further on to the CT Office of Consumer Protection so they can
see how many Revdex.com complaints they have received in recent years and look
into their dishonest business dealings. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. (Please see Attached PDF File)
Sincerely,
[redacted]

To start with...NOTHING WAS STOLEN....this customer misplaced MULTPLE ITEMS DURING MOVE, all of which were due to unorganization on customer behalf, and all WERE FOUND AFTER MOVE except for one box. We have ALREADY CLAIMED AND PAID THIS CUSTOMER for this matter, with our standard $.60 per pound per...

individual article insurance that customer signed on. Customer is not due any additional refund because we already addressed this issue and have paid customer for damages we are liable for. Thank you.Advantage Moving & Storage
