class="MsoNormal">Advantage Plumbing did respond to a service call put in by
[redacted] about her tub valves going bad and leaking. We attempted to fix
with new seats and cartridge and after pulling cartridge and replacing seats
valves started leaking on copper tubes in back of valve. We promptly returned
and cut valve out. Upon inspection we noticed copper tubes were corroded in
green corrosion which caused valve to leak as soon as we touched cartridge.
There is no way to pull cartridge without some pressure on valve.
The corrosion had weakened copper tubes and result was leak
started because of valve failure. [redacted] has changed the way they made this
valve because of this problem. Now there are no more copper tubes behind valve.
My service technician gave [redacted] an estimate to replace both
valves and trims for around $800 dollars. When I became aware of the situation I
noticed we could re-use existing trim. So when [redacted] came into our office
screaming about getting a lawyer I was trying to explain that we could use the
old trim and that I would supply two (2) new valves for free. But she would
have to pay for labor and any additional parts to put valves in. Also, I would
credit her $100 dollars we charged originally which brought the total to about
$240-$250 dollars for complete job to replace bad valves which were already
leaking in the first place.
[redacted] was so focused on making us do this job for free or
she was going to the Revdex.com and sue us that she would not listen to what I was
saying. I also give [redacted] homeowners a much lower rate as
[redacted] is near and dear to my heart.
