Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that I agree with the statement that we are currently working on a resolution.
At this time, I have made arrangements for BPI to do the work previously contracted. It is supposed to start Thursday, July 16th, probably finishing in 3 business days.
Since I am still skeptical, I will contact you the week of July 20th to report on the status (and quality) of the work (if) done.

Regards,

[redacted]

After working with [redacted] on a cement project we decided to move forward with additional projects that included specific tasks based on a building inspection report. On the day the building inspector arrived to review the completed work (that [redacted] assured us was done) [redacted] was nowhere to be found. This caused us to fail our inspection and have to pay fines as well as court costs upwards of $10,000. AND to top it all off, he stole our credit card and racked up $800 in charges at local gas stations. He has never returned ours or the police's phone calls or emails. Do not under any circumstance trust this company. They make you feel comfortable and then screw you over.

John was very professional and responsive. They arrived when they said they would ( a rare occurrence, we have discovered, when dealing with several other providers). We got three bids and they were right in the middle. The staff was professional and courteous and the quality of the work was very good. Wish everyone we worked with on our basement remodel were as good as these folks.

I thought I was doing a friend a favor with a free demonstration of an air purifier. On October 9, 2015 I agreed to have some Aerus sales people enter my home to do a free demonstration on their air purifier to help one of my friends qualify for a purifier. [redacted], & [redacted] did some sort of test in my home, but provided no report, or anything in writing that showed proof of my air quality was really bad in my home, I kept asking them, do I have mold, or something. She told me that this was not a matter of want, but a matter of need, the levels were 4 times worse than my friends house. She told me to fill out the credit application, they will not process it, I can just try the unit for a while, SHE NEVER TOLD ME THAT THE TRIAL PERIOD WAS UP IN # DAYS. I never expressed that I WANTED this air purifier. She also told me that there was a way for me to qualify to get a free one. She told me not to worry about it, she will stay in contact with me. At the end of October, I received a credit card in the mail with a $4,000 limit, with this air purifier charged to, with 36 months interest free, I left her a voicemail with not response, so I sent her an email, basically told her that I really could not afford to pay $2,000 for an air purifier, & she pretty much told me that my 3 day trial was up, & she could not take the air purifier back. She also made a visit to my house, with an attitude that she could not take this machine back, & she would be willing to make a couple payments for me. I put in a complaint on the [redacted] credit card, but she made me sign the application & insisted on leaving it. I NEVER ONCE said that I would be interested in purchasing or interested in having this machine. I guess now I'm stuck with a $2000 air purifier. I am a profession salesperson, I sell health insurance, & would NEVER enter someone's house & manipulate them into purchasing something. Also, Ms. [redacted] got fired, & did not receive commission on the sale.Desired SettlementI would be nice to be refunded, & the equipment picked up, since I have not been using the air purifiers.Business Response Ms. [redacted] did invite me and [redacted] to her home to do a free indoor air quality test. What we test for was explained to her. We do not have the ability to provide a printed report, nor did she request one. After a lengthy conversation about her bird and her concerns about mold(our meter does not identify specific contaminates, it counts particulate matter at 2 sizes, so it was explained to her that we could not be specific about if she had mold or not) she made the decision to purchase the air purification package. She wanted to pay with her credit card, but had just purchased a used car on the card and she said the car was a lemon so she was in the midst of disputing the transaction. When I asked her when she thought that would be resolved, she said maybe a couple weeks. So I suggested, since she wanted to purchase it that we fill out the financing paperwork so she could have the air purifiers now, I would not process the financing paperwork if she was able to put it on her credit card in two weeks. I want to stress that a trial period was never discussed because we do not offer trials. After 2 weeks I called her and she said she needed a little more time, so I called her again and let her know that I needed an answer whether she was putting it on her credit card or using the financing. After she had the product for approximately 4 weeks, she sent me an email saying that she could not afford it and needed to return it. So we scheduled for me to pick it up. I explained to her that the 3 day cancellation period was over (not trial period, because, again we do not offer any sort of trial), but I would make an exception and cancel the transaction due to her situation. When I arrived at her home to pick it up, I inspected the filters in the air purifiers and they were filthy. I explained that she would need to pay for new filters because of the condition of these ones. We had a conversation about that versus her keeping the air purifiers, we had discussed a monthly payment of $60.00 and I asked her if we were able to extend the term and get the payment down to $45.00 if she felt like she could handle it. She said yes, and she signed a new financing promo sheet. I did tell her that since she decided to keep them if she got into a bind that I would personally take care of a payment or two to help her out. She knew at that time that she had the opportunity to cancel the sale and she chose not to. I did not process the financing paperwork until she gave me the permission to on that day. She then sent me a text message about 10 days later asking about the financing account, I responded to her, then another 10 days went by and she sent me a text message asking how much the smaller air purifier is, and telling me that she was losing her job the following month. No mention of not wanting the air purifiers. I did not hear from her again until I received both a dispute and a fraud claim from the financing company. Neither claim held any water as I have all of the paperwork that she signed. As soon as I was informed that she was disputing the transaction, I attempted to call her on numerous occasions and she did not return my call. Then, she sent me a text message saying she had called the financing company, told them she didn't want the air purifiers and they told her to return them, and she wanted to know if someone could pick them up for her. I then called and got ahold of her. I advised her again, as explained to her previously, there is a strict 3 day cancellation period and she had been given the opportunity to cancel already outside that period. She said she was no longer using the air purifiers because her husband didn't like them. I advised her that due to the length of time she has had the air purifiers, at this point it was 5 months, we could not take them back. She then became very rude and hung up on me. I followed up with her by email to tell her that while we cannot return them, they do have a 5 year warranty, so if she feels for some reason that they are not working that we want to address that, so she can be happy with her air purifiers. I did not receive a response, only this complaint.
