Revdex.com reached owner Robert F* by phone (6-15-16), to provide business response.Mr F* explained that Ms A*** may have initially filed her complaint under "Winona Auto Sales" because one of the lots he has utilized in Winona (E 2nd St) is the former location of a business called Winona Auto
Sales, but his 'actual' business is Affordable Auto Sales, and Ms A*** has been dealing with him on the transaction described in her complaint.Mr F* says Ms A*** is mischaracterizing the situation she describes in her complaint significantly, and that the dealership has made efforts to work with her toward some sort of resolution, but has not been able to reach her in its most recent attempts at communication. He says that Affordable Auto Sales has not been paid for either the Saab or the van in question, and that Ms A*** has not completed title transfers on either vehicleHe adds that Ms A*** apparently sold (or attempted to sell?) the Saab, though she did not have a title in hand for it.Mr F* says that Affordable Auto feels it has no choice at this point but to report the van stolenBut he does not wish to get Ms A*** in trouble, and is hoping she will contact the dealer to make arrangements to return the van and discuss any outstanding issues

Prior to signing a purchase contract with Affordable Auto Sales, [redacted], test drove the vehicle and had every opportunity to have the vehicle inspected by another mechanic of her choice.
[redacted] has since bought an AS IS NO...

WARRANTY vehicle per her contract from Affordable Auto Sales, although she has a vehicle with no warranty, we have gone above and beyond trying to help her with this vehicle. Per her statement, we have fixed her vehicle several times and have put in over $1000.00 at no cost to her for repairs SHE has asked for. The last time the vehicle was in our shop, no repairs could be found. As to our knowledge this vehicle has been driving well and with no complications.
We have also helped her out with her monthly payments giving her extra time to pay on them, as well.
It is our policy that any vehicle purchased must be paid off in full before being able to trade it in.
If this vehicle is something she doesn't want, she has the right to return it at no cost to her, as long as the vehicle is returned in the same physical condition when it was sold to her.
Any questions please contact our office, Thanks.

I am rejecting this response because: I am now having to spend 1000 to fix the problems with the vehicle, when they have stated there were no problems with the vehicle, that it was in "good working condition." It was in the shop multiple times and this should have been noticed by a mechanic.

This vehicle was sold with an as is-no warranty per her contract. We will not be making any more repairs to this vehicle. This vehicle may be surrendered at any time with no cost to the contracted owner if the vehicle is in the same condition it was at the time of sale.

We are happy to address any repair issues she may have. The outside repair shops we use will warranty their work. There were three different repairs.

10-5-16Ms. [redacted]'s vehicle was fixed as a good will repair. She is now driving it. It is out of warranty.

In our response, Affordable Auto Sales, will not be fixing any further issues with said vehicle for free. This vehicles contract is an as is-no warranty. This vehicle may be surrendered, at no cost to her, if the said vehicle is in the same condition as it was in at the time of sale.
Thank You

On 11/22/13 I bought a vehicle from Ideal Cars and Trucks(2005 Ford Explorer w/ approx. 89K miles). It was my first time financing a vehicle, I got the loan from [redacted] Credit Union. Since it was a used vehicle they made me sign the "sold as is" paperwork at the time of the purchase, which foolishly I did without knowing what I was getting myself into, and when I asked if I could purchase a warranty they said I could not. I visually inspected it, and I did notice the engine was full of dried up water drops. They said a hose burst and that their mechanic fixed it, I took their word for it(note: it was not noted in the vehicle inspection report that this was repaired). I asked if I needed to repair anything and the answer was "no", also took their word for it. The test drive went good, but shortly after I purchased the vehicle, which cost me $9,506.97($8,270 of which was financed and the rest came out of my own pocket), within two weeks it began to leak antifreeze mildly and day by day got worse. I couldn't take it in to a mechanic right away because I was so tight on money at the time. About a week went by, I came up with some extra cash and took it in to a mechanic in Carson City where I live. Minor fixes where made; radiator hose, thermostat, antifreeze reservoir, radiator cap, and still the problem persisted. Not all fixes were made at once because I couldn't afford it, I took it step by step. I began getting frustrated with the mechanic because they couldn't figure out the issue and the vehicle just kept getting worse; it started over heating, the "service engine soon" light came on, it started indicating there was low oil pressure. I decided to take it to the Ford dealership in Carson City for a full diagnosis. Turns out that combustion gases are present in the cooling system and low relative compression at cylinder 4, meaning it's most likely blown gaskets, cracked heads, or both. Also, they found a crack in the radiator. Total estimate for repairs including parts approx. $7,350!!!!Product_Or_Service: 2005 Ford Explrer AdvanceTrac RSCDesired SettlementIt's not fair that I have to pay for these repairs to have my vehicle up and running. I desire that Ideal Cars and Trucks either give me a full refund or pay for the repairs. I understand that I signed paperwork stating the vehicle is "sold as is", but I honestly believe there is something fishy going on there and this is probably not the first time they sell a vehicle that breaks down shortly after it is purchased. Please help me with this issue I sure would appreciate it!
