Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
*** *** Our issue with the worked performed is not based on
completion but a request for warranty work.
Mr*** did sign documentation to verify the completion of work and
satisfaction of services renders. At the
time of signing Nick was asked what guarantees came with the services provided
by Affordable Home Remodel(AHR). It was
stated at that time to contact them with any issues that may arise within a
reasonable time frame
On October 6th an email was sent to AHR
requesting to have someone sent out to address some issues discover after
closer inspection. This email was
acknowledged the following day stating the business had a full schedule but
would address the issues at a later time, when scheduling allowedA request was
made by us to be supplied a firm date, we were told the 24th or 25th
and was told we would receive confirmation before that date to ensure access to
the residence. No confirmation was
received
Over the next few weeks we had communication back and forth
with AHR to schedule a time frame to have someone come out and address the
issues. On the last communication to AHR
a time was set and confirmed. No one
showed up at the agreed timeWe received an email hours later saying they did
not show up because we did not reply to the confirmationAn appointment was
offered and accepted for the next dayThey did not show up to this appointment
or reply to our communication asking if they will be coming
To date, we have not received any correspondence from AHR,
hence to report to Revdex.com. Once again, the
primary concern is not for the completion of work, but follow up on the company
guarantee
As for dispute of amounts charged, we accepted the amounts,
but challenged them at the time of signing.
We have all receipts and have created an itemized list of what was
charged to us. Adjustments were made to
the initial invoice supplied to us, but the paid amount did reflect items that
were classified as disposable or for only one job. Mr*** did question these items, but paid
the invoice to complete the transaction
At this point our original request still stands. We wish to have these items repaired as
requested, but do not wish to continue service supplied by AHR. Our dealings with them have not ended well
and I believe any further services supplied would cause us undo stress

In their response there was a positive message saying they would come out to view the problem areas. There was no concern for Nick’s well-being in a so called “hostile” environment, or was there any mention of too much time passed and they will not come. In these emails I did mention that weekends would be best. All we wanted was to set a future appointment on a weekend they had availability. That was also stated in an email to them. After several attempts of trying to set an appointment we received an email On October 27th and was offered an appointment to come out on November 1st. We waited a reasonable amount of time to send our final attempt email just to set an appointment. In their response to the final attempt email it stated again that they want to address our concerns. No mention of too much time has passed or “hostile” environment, and said they understood our circumstances for a weekend appointment. The email also states they understand their obligation to us. There was nothing mentioned of them just coming to sweep up, and remove the cement pile Nick already said he did. Still no mention of two months is too much time passed. A day and time was set. We received a confirmation email the day before of our appointment. In this conformation there was no request for a response. Just as a doctor’s office call to remind you of an appointment, no response is required. Two hours past the day of our appointment time we receive an email stating because we did not responded to the conformation they were not coming. An appointment was offered the next day which we accepted. They did not show for that appointment or say they were not coming. Whether a weekend or week day it is clear they had no intentions of keeping an appointment or looking at our concerns. As for the items we wanted them to address. Nick stated that the shower pan needs time to settle before it will stop squeaking. Two months IS a reasonable about of time to bring this to their attention. As for the grout we waited the correct amount of days in order for the sealer to take effect. The pictures provided will show the areas of grout that needs to be fixed. There are photo’s showing uneven spots. There was grout that was not completely drilled off our tiles as well. We were also told by Nick that the leftover grout on the tiles would eventually come off. As you can see after two months the grout has not come off the rest of the tiles. Two months is a reasonable about of time for all these issues. You will also see drills on the bottom of the shower used to scrub off the grout that had been stuck on the tiles for days while he slowly removed it. These problem areas were caused by the drill used to fix Nicks mistake of letting the grout set for over the time allowed. Throughout their poor service and incompetency we have always remained polite and friendly. They had several opportunities to come out and set a plan to have this fixed which they failed to do several times. It is in our best interest to hire someone capable of great customer service, can follow through, and ability of preforming the job properly.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I never postponed the start of the job, it was agreed upon before the contract was signed that the start date would be Dec 28, on the 27th I spoke to [redacted], he said they had another job to button up and were having problems with an HOA and had to finish. he asked if he could start on Jan 4th, I agreed and a discount was given. sometime right before that, I spoke to [redacted] again he said he still wasn't done with the other job and needed a couple more day, thought he would start Weds 1-6, I agreed. on the 5th he said he still needed another day and we agreed he would start on Friday 1-8. on the morning of 1-8 it had snowed overnight and he told me the roads were to bad to start the job, at this point, I told [redacted] we would have to find another contractor. I don't think I'm being unreasonable here. They took my money and were not able to complete the job and its been nearly a month, I'd like my money back. certainly the return of the supplies has been completed by now and they didn't spend all of the money on supplies but when I asked [redacted] to return the portion they didn't use for supplies as she said in her 1st email after the contract was cancelled, she hasn't done that either. I feel like I'm getting a bit of the run a round here and just want my money refunded.
Regards,
[redacted]

The contract was terminated. We were payed half of the money of the contract upfront for materials. It wasn't a deposit. So, we bought materials. I have to return the materials in order to get the money back to pay my customer. It can be difficult when someone breaks a contract. I can't just...

transfer money back into someone's account when they change their mind. Steps need to be taken. Most companies charge a fee for contract cancellation. We took time and man hours to purchase materials and now to return them. We will be returning his money as soon as it is returned to us. We are sorry for the delay. I am sorry that I was unable to return his email at the end of last week. I had surgery and was unable to work for a week.

We will refund the money owed to the customer on or before March 6, 2016. We will contact the customer to let him know on the day we return his refund. We again apologise for inconveniencing our customer. We acknowledge that we do owe him the money he paid us.

I was suprised to receive a notice from Mrs. [redacted]. Our company has a policy of walking the job site on completion of the job with the homeowner. At this time we ask the homeowner to sign a Certificate of completion to verify that the job was finished to their satisfaction. Nick walked the site...

with [redacted]. At this time he said that he was happy with the work. He signed the form. The estimate did not include providing fixtures. After providing the [redacted]'s with a list of materials we explained to them that we were not charging them for unnessacery items. Some items are disposable and are used for only one job. I added the blades as a clerical error and immediately removed them from the materials cost. They did not pay for tile blades. I have attached the Certificate of Completion, the estimate, the work that was added on, and the summery of payments. I hope that this clarifies the situation.
