We do not feel like we should have to pay for someone to make repairs to the [redacted]’s bathroom. We did not damage it in anyway. We do not have a written or formal guarantee of work policy. However, we do stand behind our work for a reasonable amount of time. We do not feel that 2 months is a reasonable amount of time. Mr. [redacted] walked the job site with Nick as is company policy and inspected the work performed. He even entered the shower to look at the grout lines. He then shook hands with Nick and signed our Certificate of Completion form insuring that the job was finished completely and to his satisfaction. He paid us at this time. Now, this is where we are finished with this job. We did not give them any formal warranties. When we left that bathroom that day the grout lines were fine and we had just applied a grout sealer and instructed them not to use the shower for at least 2 days. Using it before that time could result in damage to the grout. As a surprise to us approximately 2 months later we get an email from Mrs. [redacted]. She wants us to fix uneven grout lines, make the shower pan not squeak, sweep up a dustpan full of work of debris we missed in the basement, and pick up about 1 sq. ft. of grout we forgot. Unfortunately she could only meet on the weekends and that was difficult for us. We really felt that any issues with the bathroom could not be the result of our work after 2 months had past.  They had several weeks of wear and tear on it already. When we left everything was fine.  As a courtesy we agreed to meet with them to at least sweep up the debris and pick up the grout. However scheduling became an issue. Also, we felt a great deal of hostility from Mrs. [redacted]. It was clear when we finished the job and from the emails that it would be an uncomfortable meeting.  Again we do not feel that we should have to pay to repair damage that we did not cause and should not have to pay someone to sweep a dustpan full of debris, and pick up a small amount of debris outside. This is why we have a certificate of completion.

We apologize that we have not been able to return the refund as quickly as the customer has expected. We have full intentions of providing the refund. However, we have stayed in contact with him. I have sent various emails informing him that we do not yet have the funds to provide the refund. Emailing me 4 times a day and requiring a response does not mean that I am not staying in contact. I have informed the Revdex.com and the customer that I was unable to work for approx. a week or more due to a surgery and did not respond during that time. I was unable to sit up or stand by myself let alone type and conduct business. Please understand that we feel that this is an unfortunate situation. Both parties postponed the start date. It can be difficult to know what will happen during the holiday season and sometimes unexpected occurances happen. Unexpected family visits and blizzards. But we assure you that we will refund the the money owed as soon as we have the funds.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
[redacted]
Our issue with the worked performed is not based on
completion but a request for warranty work.
Mr. [redacted] did sign documentation to verify the completion of work and
satisfaction of services renders.  At the
time of signing Nick was asked what guarantees came with the services provided
by Affordable Home Remodel(AHR).  It was
stated at that time to contact them with any issues that may arise within a
reasonable time frame.
On October 6th an email was sent to AHR
requesting to have someone sent out to address some issues discover after
closer inspection.  This email was
acknowledged the following day stating the business had a full schedule but
would address the issues at a later time, when scheduling allowed. A request was
made by us to be supplied a firm date, we were told the 24th or 25th
and was told we would receive confirmation before that date to ensure access to
the residence.  No confirmation was
received.
Over the next few weeks we had communication back and forth
with AHR to schedule a time frame to have someone come out and address the
issues.  On the last communication to AHR
a time was set and confirmed.  No one
showed up at the agreed time. We received an email hours later saying they did
not show up because we did not reply to the confirmation. An appointment was
offered and accepted for the next day. They did not show up to this appointment
or reply to our communication asking if they will be coming.
To date, we have not received any correspondence from AHR,
hence to report to Revdex.com.  Once again, the
primary concern is not for the completion of work, but follow up on the company
guarantee.
As for dispute of amounts charged, we accepted the amounts,
but challenged them at the time of signing.
We have all receipts and have created an itemized list of what was
charged to us.  Adjustments were made to
the initial invoice supplied to us, but the paid amount did reflect items that
were classified as disposable or for only one job.  Mr. [redacted] did question these items, but paid
the invoice to complete the transaction.
At this point our original request still stands.  We wish to have these items repaired as
requested, but do not wish to continue service supplied by AHR.  Our dealings with them have not ended well
and I believe any further services supplied would cause us undo stress.

I have not been contacted by affordable home remodeling nor have I received any new payments. Still missing the $1048
