AGIA Insurance Services Reviews (25)

Review: I took out a travel policy with EA plus(an AGIA company)in 2014 for an overseas trip and charged it to a credit card. In 2015 EA plus charged my credit card to renew the travel insurance without my permission. I requested a refund twice but have not received this. This is not a legitimate business practice.Desired Settlement: EA plus should refund me $149 which they charged in 2015.

Review: On December 24, 2013 AGIA insurance credited my account for $153.89. In the paper containing the payment information it clearly states that the withdrawal amount is $103.96. Therefore, they overcharged me $49.88. In my checking account I only had $104.67, enough to cover monthly payment. Since they overcharged me $49.88 my bank charged me an "Insufficient Funds Fee" of $34.00. At that time I had no knowledge that the insurance company overcharged my checking account, consequently the bank then charged me and additional "extended overdraft fee" of $15.00. Therefore, the total amount that I had on my checking account was -$98.22, because of the overcharge of the insurance company. The way I found out about this was on January 13, 2014. I deposited $100.00 for my next monthly payment and when I did deposit the money I only had $1.78 in my account. I went inside the bank and asked what the reason was that I only had $1.78 if I had just deposited $100. The bank then explained that I had an overdraft of $49.22 that the insurance company overcharged me, an insufficient funds fee of $34.00 and an extended overdraft fee of $15.00 since I had no idea I had been overcharged. All of this added up to $98.22 in fees which was covered when I deposited the $100.00. I don't have enough money to cover the payment now and because of that I won't be able to make the payment for the 22nd of January.Desired Settlement: To settle this claim I would like to be reimbursed the amount that was overcharged by the insurance company, all the fee's charged by the bank resulting from the insurance overcharge, and January's payment waived, since I wont have enough currency to cover this month's payment. (January 22, 2013).
