DO NOT MOVE TO STAMFORD, CT
Since AJH started managing the buildings at Harbor Point in Stamford, simply ALL the people who live there have complained that the level of the buildings and the way they treat people has dropped. The staff is rude, unprepared and without patience, it seems to me that they don't want to work in the buildings anymore. simply cash the check and go home. The maintenance staff is totally unprepared, uneducated and without patience. There is nothing good to say about the management of AJH. Don't move to Stamford.

Horrible Maintenance and turn around time
I have been living here for 2yrs maintenance and turn period is horrible. I have been without a working toilet for 2 days now with no update when my toilet will be fixed with water still currently leaking out of it. I notified the leasing office of plumbing problem 8/26/22 at 12:45pm. Following they had maintenance come out they were Unable to resolve the issue and told me they were calling a plumber time 2:30pm. Plumber never came I repeatedly called emergency hotline to get and update maintenance told me it was nothing they can do that the plumber was coming which was a lie. Following a called this 8/27/22 morning at 6:30am, On-call maintenance called me back and told me basically is nothing that he can do it and nobody was coming out and he was unable to reach his supervisor and I would just have to go to the leasing office again on Monday to state my plumbing issue. Which is truly Unacceptable

When I moved in I prepaid my amenities fee for the year. Since then the fitness center has been closed for six months, and we lost a months use of the pool. I asked the property manager several times if we would get a prorated amount of the amenities fee back since it sounds only fair. She never answered me and a month later I confront here about it and she said she asked corporate about it and they said “no”.... well when was she planning on telling me this? The property manager sent a mass text message to the entire property saying “everyone was going to pay the price” because some people aren’t following the rules of the pool. First I am a grown man who pays $2,000 a month to live here she doesn’t get to talk down to me like I’m a third grader. Dealing with tenants not following the rules is her job she should spend time doing it and not trying act like I’m a accountable for what the other tenants do or don’t do.

AJH management bought Korman Suites in Southwest Philadelphia May 2019, AJH management refused to give me my deposit & I'm taking them to court. AJH management are slumlords who let NEVER cut the grass, repaired apartments (mine) I had an open L&I case against them. AJH MANAGEMENT will take your rent money & never take care of the property. The Office manager Refuses to talk to tenants FACE TO FACE. Do not rent from AJH management, I wish I could post pics of the property. AJH management are SLUM LORDS do not rent from them ...STAY FAR AWAY

Wow wow wow is all I can say You would think just because it’s a management company that they’ll have things put together but nope not at all these people are all over I called them scammers and scums They have these people talk to you make you think that you’re moving into a nice apartment come to find out the apartment is disgusting I live in Harrisburg Pennsylvania Stonebridge apartments and it is horrible I don’t know how many complaints how many tickets I have to put in to get my house fixed but Let alone the Tenant’s We need help it’s so many emergency hazards it’s not even funny you guys are Pushing for a serious lawsuit and IT might not be from me but one of these innocent people in these Apartment complex are going to get hurt by the amenities that are not fixed such as the stove , Bugs, animals crawling through the wall,Water leaks, faucet leaks, also people can walk into your house whenever they please and I think that is very inappropriate I don’t know who to go to after This I just ask please help are complex we are really in need

Trash and glass everywhere and no where to walk your dog, dog waste stations not being filled as well as leaving the waste container full and smells of dog waste constantly, staff in leasing office rude, ignorant and incompetent. Told manager we have a serious mold issue a year and half ago in common hall and still has yet to resolved (fiance was hospitalized for severe pneumonia and ICU for a week). Asked for a receipt as she was walking away since she didn't ask. She stopped, took a sec or 2 to hurt and roll her eyes and then walked back to give me a receipt. Also, overheard them lying to a potential new resident about current residents as she is giving tours. That's just the beginning.

Absolute ***. They will text you for rent, to resign lease but will take weeks to come fix anything. 4 of my outlets and my toilet have never worked and the maintenance people don't know how to fix them because they aren't real maintenance people. My sink and dishwasher was broken for a month before sewage water started overflowing and had to call the Maryland public inspectors to come in for a new dishwasher. I left my clothes in the drier for over a day and they threw all of my clothes away because there isn't enough machines to fulfill the amount of tenants.
The guy here in Towson Berkshire name is Brad, he is so cheap (you'll know when you see him) he put Flex-A-Seal over a water pipe leak...which led to it busting and flooded the entire first 2 floors and t least 30 residents had to vacant from their living area. They bumped up rent 5% and now he has a new car...they're *** and can't wait to move out and see them in public.

HAHAHAHAHA These people are the sm of the Earth. They are a perfect example for why capitalism is a joke.
I planned on writing a long review about how horrible my experience is living in The Wescott in Stamford, CT (owned by AJH) but I see that several others already wrote their own reviews about how terrible these people are. It looks like they only respond to their 5 star reviews which in my guess are their employees writing fake reviews to give them something higher than a 1 star review.
Here is how you can sum them up - CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. They won't spend money to repair anything. For over a year we've had broken elevators in our building. I live on the 9th floor, but don't feel bad for me because there are elderly and handicapped people that live above me. What is their response? They tell the residents to call EMS to bring them down the stairs...

This March 2020, I moved into an apartment at the Summit Mount Laurel that was not even prepared or ready for move in. One month later, after filing numerous maintenance requests and keeping in contact with the landlord, the work that needs to be done to our apartment is still not done. I have tried to contact AJH on multiple instances and the person that answered the phone was highly unprofessional and rude. They said that someone would call me back. I have called multiple times and so has my partner and still no call back to either of us. Overall, horrible experience and I cannot wait to terminate my lease.

Just moved into an apartment complex owned by AJH management. Had the apartment held with first months rent for 3 months. We showed up to move in today and the woman who we signed our agreement with was not expecting us at all. Despite this disappointing welcome to our first day at the new place we paid them more money only to be given keys to an apartment that is unfinished. Carpet only covering some of the flooring, stains on the carpet that is installed, locks that don't lock, etc. And of course the woman who we signed our agreement with was completely taken aback, because why would she make sure that our apartment would be ready for our agreed upon move-in date? Now because it's Sunday there isn't anything we can do except drive back to our old place while we still can.

AJH Management is a HORRIBLE company! If you see their name attached to anything...RUN! They bought the building I was living in, in Towson, MD, and let me tell you they turned it into an absolute hovel. From the beginning cracks started to show in their integrity. They updated the lobby and gameroom, but people don't live in those rooms. Meanwhile, they ignore glaring issues with the homes. Maintenance...forget it. Every time they called themselves fixing something, it wound up worse, IF they showed up at all. A massive leak happened ruining several homes. It happened just after midnight, not a word from them until just after 9 the next morning. ONE maintenance guy showed up and he looked overwhelmed. If you look them up on case search in New Jersey, they've been sued several times for basically stealing people's security deposits. They also pad their reviews. When there are several bad ones, random people all of a sudden pop up raving about the "new renovations. " Basically, do yourself a favor and don't move anywhere their name is attached to.

AJH Management took over the apartment complex Berkshires at Town Center in Towson, MD a few weeks before we moved out. We were present for the cleaning inspection and were told by the apartment manager that we wouldn't be charged for any damages or repairs. We then received a bill in the mail for $895 to “replace the carpet.”
We called the manager and he said that corporate must have done a second inspection and determined the carpets needed replaced. We were not notified of this second inspection, nor were we given the chance to be present for it, which is completely illegal. When we asked why we were being charged to replace the carpet, the manager had no idea. He refused to even help us get an answer about why we were being charged.
We asked the manager if AJH management had any photos or proof that we had damaged the carpet beyond the normal wear and tear of occupancy, and they said that they did not. There is no way that we caused enough damage to the carpet to justify us paying the ENTIRE cost of replacing the carpet.
The day after AJH Management took over the building, they started gutting the lobby and remodeling everything. We moved out a few days later and it is very obvious that they just wanted to get free carpet out of us.
After calling 10 times and trying to get a hold of the apartment manager, he said he couldn't help us and that he would forward the information on to the corporate office. After not hearing back from anyone for over a month, we called him again and he refused to check up on it or help us in any way.
He gave us the corporate number and we have since called them at least 2 dozen times. The phone was answered once or twice and I explained the situation and asked to speak to a manager. I was refused and told they would make a note of it. I have not received any update or even a confirmation that they are aware of our situation. I have called dozens of times and it rings and rings and then goes to voicemail. I have left 12 messages and no one has gotten back to me.
I have consulted with my lawyer and he is confident that they are illegally and wrongfully charging us and he helped us draft a letter which we sent via certified mail to AJH Management as well as the manager of the building. We also sent this to the official email address for AJH management as well as the building manager.
AJH has been absolutely awful through this whole process. They lied to us about not being charged any fees, then conducted a second inspection without notifying us or giving us the chance to be present. They have not contacted us once about why we have been charged or even acknowledged our inquiries. They have completely ignored us and have been absolutely terrible to get a hold of or receive any help whatsoever.
I have been trying to resolve this issue for over 4 months and have received absolutely no help whatsoever. I would give them negative 5 stars if I could. Avoid renting from them or interacting with them in any way.

I have been a resident of Berkshire at Town Center through two property management companies. As of August 3rd, AJH Management based out of New Jersey took over management of the building. Berkshire Companies made a huge mistake in selling their name to this business, which has a D list rating though Revdex.com. Their lack in taking responsibility is alarming. If you are the parents of students, please find housing for your kids elsewhere. Since AJH has taken over I rarely am able to find parking on the lot because they no longer regulate parking, I find myself late at night trying to find parking throughout Towson. People without parking decals on their vehicles are taking full advantage of the now “public parking lot”. Moreover, I have been contacted twice via phone call and TEXT to let me know my rent was late and I needed to “handle it ASAP” or they would take legal action. Upon reaching out to management, I was told this was a mistake and to disregard. Maintenance seems to be non existent. The lobby and amenities have been ripped apart since the first hour which they took over the building, the front doors do not function properly and the loading ramp doors are always propped open all day and all night long. Very secure. In the past I was paying to live in a two bed, two bath, luxury high rise with luxury amenities. Currently, I am paying for a place which no longer feels like my home. If you want to feel like you live in government housing run by a staff who treat their tenured residents like burdens, this is definitely the place for you. If you are looking for a safe living environment where management works with their residents in a respectful manner, continue looking. If photos were allowed, I would happily show documentation of huge holes in walls for months, elevators which are never in service, debris all over from damage such as prior mentioned holes punched in walls by rowdy students as well as trash, my master bathroom left a complete mess after maintenance allowed themselves in unannounced when I never placed a service ticket leaving me to clean it up AND place a service ticket for the damage they left behind (a non working toilet), screenshots of incorrect utilities bills, correspondence with the very uneducated and self serving office staff and “management”.

I lived in which is owned by AJH Management for a year. We paid an amenities fee of $65 a month for our gym membership, which closed half way through our lease. After multiple complaints they were still charging us this fee. I also moved out of it in August, it is now December and I have not received my security deposit. I have called 10+ times and they keep saying they are sending it, but nothing has come in the mail. No one answers the phone when you call. They take weeks to get back to you. If you put in a maintenance request it is ignored until you follow up 5+ times.

AJH Management Response • Dec 12, 2019

When we purchased the property we had ufc gym as a tenant allowing access to to our residence. We had to evict the gym due to non payment and lost the gym services we have been diligently looking for replacement gym to occupy the space. The amenity fee covered the gym, shuttle service, package locker system and other amenities we offer. During this time offered all tenants a $10 per person per month amenity credit to cover the gym portion.

We have sent out her security deposit multiple times to the address she requested upon move out. It has been returned to our office and re sent with the tracking number given to the tenant the most recent December 2. It seems the address she supplied is not valid or she is not excepting the mail. If the check is returned we will hold in our office for pick up or resend to a new address if the tenant wishes to provide.

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID. I have called multiple times to ask them what address they are sending the security deposit. They have not returned any of my phone calls or emails. I have received many packages to my new apartment building, so it does not make any sense that they security deposit is being returned, unless they have the wrong address. Please have they email me the address they are sending it to so I can update them if needed.

Thank you so much for the 5 star review and kind words:)
Here at AJH we strive daily to keep our residents feeling happy and at home!

I used to live at Glen Eyre apartments, I could not be happier with the way AJH management has been running this place since they took over!
Granted at first there was some skepticism from these negative reviews online. But I guess that is not at every property...
I would highly recommend this company based on the experience I had with them!!

Joe thank you ever so much for the 5 star review, followed by your kind words.
Our team strives daily to ensure our residents feel cared for, seen, heard and at home:)

The management at Apts. Managed by AJH Management in Deptford, NJ .The security locking system on the outside common door does not work I was told they where going not fix it. I live on the first floor and now when ever anyone forgets their keys they either bang on the front door or come around the back to get me to let them in. This locking system was one of the things that made me want to move to these apts. It doesn't seem to be that hard to fix. It just needs to be reinitialized but management doesn't want to be bothered with it.
The office staff is the worst. You can tell they don't care about the tenants at all they only want their rent money.

We are aware of the issue in which Ms. is referring to have taken the necessary steps to rectify the issue. However, there is an underlying issue that Ms. may be unaware of. These systems work via phone lines and *** is supposed to make some necessary repairs and upgrades to these phone lines. We have been in touch with *** multiple times to have these required upgrades made but they are not being responsive. We at AJH Management take the security of our residents seriously and will not stop reaching out to *** to get this resolved. We are also looking for alternate options to get this resolved sooner. Should you have any follow up questions, please feel free to call me at ...Sincerely, Jack H

Since Berkshire at Town Center was taken over by AJH management we have seen amazing upgrades to our property.
Keep it up!

we truly appreciate your 5 start review and kind words!

I’ve lived in many places, but glen Eyre apartments takes the cake. Apartments are clean and beautiful.
Having a gym there is an obvious plus, it’s close to work and I love it.
Staff is friendly and helpful. And Maintenance always fixes things the same day.
I truly recommend this place to others.
