Review: I cancelled my service with Alarm New England. I was told by Alarm New England the dollar amount to bring the account current and close the account. I paid what was owed in full. AFTER THE FACT, I received ANOTHER bill with what they say is additional monies owed.Desired Settlement: I would like the additional money that Alarm New England states that I owe ($19.95) to be credited against my account.

Customer was set up for ACH payment for monitoring services on a monthly basis. ACH payment processed 8/26/2013 ACH payment processed 9/25/2013 declined. 10/7/13 provided new exp date and payment was declined again. 11/5/13 and 12/31/2013 messages were left for customer about overdue invoices. 12/31/2013 - 7 day letter was sent to customer. 2/10/2014 we received letter from customer notifying us (letter dated 2/6/14) to cancel her account. Cancellation was processed 2/10/14. Meanwhile, monitoring services were being provided up to cancellation date. We bill at beginning of month for services rendered. 2/10/2014 January 2014 bill was credited, along with February 2014 bill. Monitoring services cancelled 2/10/2014. Consequently, customer received 41 days of free monitoring.

Sales person added wording into a contract that locked me into a 3 year term instead of taking over the month by month contract which existed with the building owner.
I was forced to leave the building I rented because of asbestos and mold issue, so I cancelled by Alarm contract. That is when I learned the salesman had written a new contract instead of having me sign on to the existing one as I requested. The saleman practises bait and switch techniques. I had the service only 3 months and was forced to pay 75 percent of the 3 years the salesman had written in. I can not contest it as I signed the contract but the company should not be trusted and their lengthy small print contracts are made to exploit their customers. I hope this prevents others from falling for their techniques.
