Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: there is only one word that can be a response to this message, LIES!!! Regards, [redacted]

Mr [redacted] brought his Cadillac Cts to get his Engine rebuilt After we completed the Engine Mr [redacted] took the vehicle to Cavender Cadillac in which he got a complete diagnostic done on the vehicle and the diagnostic came back stating that a new timing chain and csatlasytic converter needed to be replaced and also the following codes as well [redacted] were diagnosed so we asked Mr [redacted] to bring the car back under warranty and so he did and we replaced onced again the timing chain which was already new in the first place and we also took care of the codes ,after Mr [redacted] picked the vehicle up the second time he was still not satisfied with the performance of the vehicle so we asked him to bring it back so we could recheck and take care of whatever issue it may have but Mr [redacted] refused and Practically said he was done and didn't want us to no longer work on the vehicle.Mr [redacted] still has year warranty on the engine we would really like the opportunity to fix any issue he may have

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Regards, [redacted] ***

All Star worked on our Saturn at least years ago (rebuilt the engine) and my Saturn is still going strong

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because [redacted] failed to specify details in his response in regards to my previous requestWhich include the following: updating our contract with a specified timeframe on when vehicle will be properly fixed without having to constantly return it every time he claims the work is done, the job must be completed by a professional and/or certified mechanic who has experience working on a Cadillac CTS.If this shop can actually complete the job without a problem then there shouldnt be issues updating our contract to move forward and avoid wasting unnecessary timeI would really appreciate for [redacted] to respond promptly and professionally to my request .Your next respond should provide details to what our next legal steps should beRegards, [redacted]

dear mr [redacted] ***, were sorry about the delays in time we might have had your vehicle. But to our defense a lot of the problems you came to us with were not due to our neglegience or lack of knowledge to fix your vehicle properly.First your dash was ripped apart , second the acciedent the mechanic had with your shifter was fixed with new oem parts we have reciets, Third we do not scratch vehicles and have adequate space for parking at our facility we did not do this damage to your vehicle. We at all star engines find it funny that your vehicle starts to have problems towards the end of you warrenty, question was the vehicle loosing oil pressure when you first took it back after the work was done, if so why wait a whole year to bring it back ?

Replacing my old engine with a new one from All Star Engine Installation Center was the best decision I madeThey did a professional job and my car works very well now

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I am rejecting this response because: The events didn't happen as described aboveMany of the statements made by them are falseThe first engine was never overheated and was actually found later to have had a plugged catalytic converterI was told by [redacted] that they had found a used engine, but that it would be cheaper for him, to rebuild my engineSo that's why I opted for the rebuildRight after, I got it back from him, I told him the clutch felt the same as when I took it into himI was assured that it was a brand new clutch This engine stopped working approximately three weeks after we picked it up from him The second engine was always a piece of crap The engine check light stayed on constantly and they didn't tighten down the battery properly, which arced on the hood and melted a whole through the hoodThey never repaired the hole like they promisedThe engine, from the beginning, was going through a quart of oil a weekI took it back several times and each time [redacted] would say it was all fixedI would take it home and after a week, it would be low another quart of oil He told me that he was going to rebuild the motor againI see now that he never did the third rebuild according to his own statement above The supposed third engine had the same oil leak problem and the clutch went out completelyThey say the engine is fixed, but it isn'tIt still has the same oil leak problemThe car has been sitting at his shop for a year and every time I go in to ask him when it's going to be fixed, he says he is going to get it right in, and nothing happensNow he's saying I need to take it someplace else and I will be happy to when he reimburses me for a job that was never done properlyI paid him for a rebuilt engine and a new clutchRebuilt engines don't go through a quart of oil a weekI realize he had a body man come in to install the engine but, that should have nothing to do with the performance of the engineI also repaired a loaner truck of his for no chargeI replaced the water pump, idler pulley, and serpentine beltThis should make us even for the body man Regards, [redacted] Regards, [redacted]

Never go to this place!!! It complete rip off, they do not install what is on the recepit you pay forTook my truck in nearly a year ago and have not been able to fix itI paid nearly $3,for an overhaul that was never doneIt seems as if they just painted over the same engineThey say that they are Revdex.com accredited and they are notThey claim to have a rapid turn over time and that is definitely not trueDO NOT make the same mistake I didHis entire staff are liars that take advantage of people and cover up for Alex the owner

mr *** ***, feel free to came to the shop you know we will take care you car warranty ,if you let me , we will install a complete long block ,just stop by the shop and we take care you, thanks

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to resolve any issue our customer may haveThe vehicle has came multiple times for minor issues and ASE has tried to resolve them as agreed on the customers year warranty. As of weeks the vehicle has been here at ASE being worked on for engine repair due
to engine running without any oil and issues inside the engine that may have occured that.We are going to completely redo the engine at no cost to customer

I trust All Star Engine Installation Center to repair my car’s engineI have been getting routine checks done from there for quite a whileThe quality of parts used in replacements are of high quality and the staff is well informedThumbs up

The vehicle mentioned above was brought to our shop in fact on 07/01/and the customer requested to have an oil change and the replacement of the front left shock absorber, I *** *** explained to him that we specialize in engine overhauling not in fleet service or heavy duty trucks like
the one in dispute, but since the customer insisted, we accepted to have the job done, the vehicle was not driven from the same spot that it was left when it was dropped off, so we couldn't inspect if there was any pre-existing problems with the vehicle, the oil change was done the very same day and the shock absorber needed to be orderedIt took couple of days before we got the shock absorber in, one we got it we realized the it was the wrong part, we kept trying but no luck, the customer agreed to look for the parts and bring the truck and the part so we would do just the installation of the shock absorber, we never drove the vehicle away from the shop, since the only thing we did to the vehicle was the oil change we had no reason to test drive the vehicle, the next time we heard was that the truck was smoking real bad, we instructed the customer to bring the truck back so we can inspect the oil viscosity and to make sure that everything that we had done was completed the right way. We focus on the complaint that we had from the customer, everything was done according to specifications, but we found that the problem was the turbo charger that was leaking oil in to the combustion chamber, that was the reason of the smoking, one of the codes that we find in the engine's computer was code Pand it has to do something related to the turbo assemblyTHERE IS NO WAY that the damage of the turbo was done as a result of the oil change, we realized that there was missing bolts in the turbo assembly but again just to clarify, THE TURBO ASSEMBLY IN INSTALLED IN THE OPOSITE SIDE OF THE OIL FILTER, the only part we remove from the truckWe didn't got even close to the turbo assembly, we advise the customer that he had a defective turbo and provided assistance looking for oneWe started searching for a turbo assembly and we found one with our suppliers, when we got it in our shop realized that it was for a different model. At this time we informed the customer that some other supplier had a pre-owned turbo and the price for it was $ 1500.00, the customer replied that he was not going to pay for that part, At this point we had been helping in good faith knowing that the problem didn't have nothing to do with the job we performed, after saying that customer came to the shop to pick his vehicle up and haven't heard anything else until I got his email
Thank you very much

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: A legitimate auto shop would finish repairs in a timely manner without inconveniencing the customerThe vehicle was not only returned to All Star Engine twice it was a total of four times which then I refused to leave my vehicle under their care due to severe water damage to the vehicle's interior and because *** stated he did not have certified mechanics to work on my type of vehicleEvery time I was told my vehicle was ready was because I would show up to the place of business not because *** would have the courtesy to call me to give me an update on my vehicleAs soon as the vehicle was running you could here it was struggling to stay on, after mins of being driven the vehicle would shut off or engine light would come on and vehicle would begin to overheatIt became apparent that my vehicle was not worked on and *** was continuously lying about repairs being doneAfter showing up several times to the place of business and calling it became apparent *** had no idea if my vehicle was worked on because I was continuously told he was out of the countryHaving a year warranty with All Star Engine seems meaningless considering in the past months my vehicle has not been repaired properly under their careIn order for me to take my vehicle back to All Star Engine is with a signed contract stating the following: a specific date vehicle will be repaired, a certified mechanic will be working on the vehicle, if the vehicle has not been properly repaired by the specified date All Star Engine will give a full refund.

We appreciate for giving us the opportunity in trying to fix any issue our customers may have experienced here at All Star EngineMr*** brought in his car to get his engine rebuilt once we took the engine out we recommended Mr*** to maybe changing from a rebuilt to a pre-owned engine
instead because the engine was overheated and we wanted to prevent any problem the block may would have caused if the same one was rebuilt but once All Star Engine tried to move forward into finding an engine unfortunately are engine providers didn't have any available at the moment ,therefore that was the reason we had tooken so long the first time we initially started to work on Mr***s car, We searched for weeks to try and get him a pre-owned so we decided we moved forward with finding a block that All Star Engine could rebuild for him instead so we could proceed with the work and not take longer than what we had already did and that was also the reason why the invoice was given to him describing a pre-owned engineWe finally finished the engine when in the process of putting it back in we discovered that the car had been previously in an accident because due to the accident we weren't able to align the front of the vehicle back to its place due to interior body damage , so we hired a bodyman to come to our shop and payed him to put it back in place which we did not charge Mr*** for.Soon later Mr*** brought the car back in overheating and unfortunately we had to rebuild the engine once again which we bought a complete engine kit once again and redid the engine, for a second timeMr*** then brought it in later after that for minor issues one of them involving the battery which wasn't engine related then minor misfiring which we fixed everytime at no charge to him when then his clutch went out and was also fixed and All Star had to pay a body man for a third time when the clutch was replaced which wasn't charged againEverything that has to do with the engine is fixed and now the clutch is out again which we agree that Mr*** takes his car to another shop cause we generally don't do general repair and we know that once again we would have to bring somebody else in to do the body work All Star has agreed to give him warranty on the clutch only ( parts)Thank you

I had a positive experience at All Star Engine Installation CenterI called them to repair my vehicle in an emergency and they did a thorough jobExcellent customer service

RE: Response to Complaint ID ***
Mr*** had contacted our establishment for
engine work on his ** *** *** truckHe was given an estimated cost ( not including shop cost and tax with free towing and water pump)and estimated completion time (aprox weeks) He was also informed that there would be a $deposit required. (as a side note the original estimate was $+ shop cost + taxMr*** expressed his financial situation and we lowered it to an even $including tax and shop cost.)
We had his truck towed in on August **, Mr*** did not come in until September *, to pay the $deposit and sign the Terms and Conditions form. At that time it had been four weeks and we did not finish the engine until the following weekIt took longer than the estimated time due to certain parts having to be at the machine shop longer than expected
Mr*** did have to bring his truck back numerous times after we overhauled his engineEvery time it was for things that were outside the parameter of the engine overhaul. As per our Terms and Conditions article one; "AS (All Star) will provide a long block assembly which includes; short block, head or heads, oil pump kit, engine gasket set, motor oil and filterParts used in the manufacture of the long block assembly may be new, used or reconditioned as deemed by the manufacturer and/or ASRemanufactured long block assemblies do not include: oil pan, valve covers, carburetor, fuel injection, turbo chargers, computers, external pumps, belts, hoses, ignition parts, sensors, cooling system parts, transmission parts, intake, radiator, manifolds, electrical system or any other part not included in the definition of the long block assembly above." Also too we do not do a pre diagnostic on the vehicles per article twenty -two in the Terms and Conditons; " AS does not do engine diagnostics prior to installation, to determine if the engine needs replacingThe decision to replace an engine is therefore made entirely by the customer." Since we do not do a pre diagnotic test we have no way of knowing if the vehicle has other issues beside the engineEven if we did do the test ( if the vehicle will run to be able to ) the results would not be accuarte do to the engine being the main malfunction and could give readings
At one point Mr*** took his truck to another mechanic who told him that we had the wrong engine in his truck and that the computer was running in limp mode. We assured him that we overhauled his engineWe took Mr***'s truck to a local *** dealer and service to have them run a diagnostic test on the vehicleWe also asked them to verify that the engine was his engine and that it matched the computerThe results were that it was his engine, his computer and that it all matched upThe dealers diagnostic only read for the Crank and one of the Oxygen sensorsThey said the computer was not running in limp mode either
Mr***'s vehicle had many issues outside the parameter of the overhaulWhich we were more than willing to help him withWe replaced the following sensors: Throttle Positioning, MAP, CAM, Oxygen( per the dealer), Coolant and Crank (per the dealer)We replaced the distributer, fuel pump, flex plate and computer (per Mr***'s request because he didn't believe the dealers results)(flex plate was a mistake by the mechanic who did his transmission that we caught) Even though we tried to explain that these problems were outside the parameter of the engine overhaul Mr*** continued every time to blame us for problems we did not causeHe would then remind us of his financial problems due to his disabilityHe would also accuse us trying to take advantage of him and his financial situationAll these repairs were made at no cost to Mr*** due to we understood his financial situation and were more than willing to help himNot because these issues were our fault in any way
The last time Mr***'s truck was here was the end of January first part of February Mr*** had brought us the truck with a shift acceleration problem and a check engine lightHe also gave us a letter that we had until the first of February to get it fixedOnce again he was blaming us for issues that we had nothing to do withWe knew the check engine was going to be for the EGR system since we had informed him before that it was not here when he originally brought it to us and that it would eventually need to be replacedEven without it the engine ran well. As for the other issue it was the flex plate that the transmission place he took it to installed the wrong one. We installed the new flex plate and started looking for an EGR system from our used dealersUnfourtunately we were not able to find one in time for Mr***'s deadline. We let him know this and at that time he was not willing to extend us any timeOn February first he came by the shop. Mr*** went for a test drive with the owner to see how the new flex plate was workingDuring this time Mr*** changed his mind and gave us an additional week for the EGR system
When they came back from the test drive the owner does not recall Mr*** giving the keys to the truck backNor do we recall them being left in the truckUnfortunately between February *** and *** the truck was stolen from our propertyWe know it was there when we closed on the *** but when we went out on the *** to pull it in to put the EGR system on the truck it was goneWe called Mr*** to see if he had come to get the truck and he stated that he had notI informed him that the truck was not hereHe said he would be overIn the mean time I called the SAPD non emergency number for them to send and officer out and they informed me that I had to go online and fill out the report and they would get back with usI was in the process of doing this when Mr*** showed upHe assisted me in figuring out the value of his vehicle based on *** *** *** for the report. *** *** *** figured the vehicle to be worth $While I was finishing up the report online Mr*** expressed his concern that the report was being done onlineI explained that this is what they had told me to doHe then decided to call himself to get them to send an officer out, which they did. At first the officer wasn't going to make a report due to the truck was not in Mr***'s name yet but still in the name of the gentleman he bought it fromOnce he got an okay from detectives in the auto theft department that he could the officer made the report.
We told Mr*** that evening that we would make good on his truckThe next morning he was at the shop demanding $I explained to him that we would pay him the value of his truck which was $I also explained that we would be able to get him the money in the next week due to we had just had an ex employee hack our bank account and steal a substantial amount of moneyMr*** refused our offer and said he was going to an attorney. He called the next day to see if we had changed our mindsI restated what we would be able to do and he still refused our offer. We then called Mr*** with the offer of a replacement truck that was in a lot better shape than his was and less miles. The value of this truck was higher than his at $He refused this offer but a few days later called and asked if he could see it. We called the gentleman we were going to buy it from but he was out of townWe let Mr*** know that we couldn't get the truck till he got backUnfortunately we had several attempts to go get it but every time it was scheduled the owner of the truck was delayed coming back in town due to businessDuring this time Mr*** expressed that he wanted the truck plus moneyIn which we stated again that it would either be the value of his truck or the truck we were going to buy to give him Then on February *** Mr*** came into the shop and proceeded to yell and cuss at the ownerThe owner tried to apologize and explain the situation again to Mr*** but he wasn't in the frame of mind to listenHe continued to yell at which point the owner had to yell as well to be heardWe were trying to get him to settle down to talk this through but he felt that calling the owner a ________(very ugly word) *** and other racial slurs was bestWe asked him to leave. He left threatening to call his attorney. We have not had contact with him since
We are very sorry that this happened and are very willing to make it rightWe still would like to either pay him the value of his truck or give him the truck we offered him

Alex O*** is an amazing person, I've gone to this shop for just over a year now and he had stuck to his word on everything I've asked be doneHe warranties all the work necessary, and works with his customers if ever they have any issuesMy truck when I bring it in is worked on and back up and running within a few days and I even go there for my regular oil changesAnyone ever looking for good mechanics and good people, I refer them hereKeep up the good work guys and thank you SO much for EVERYTHING you have done for me and my truck! out of stars across the board for dedication!

I am rejecting this response because: The account of the time frame as well as damage to the vehicle is an outright lie on behalf of the business. The stolen items from the inside of the car are not even addressed in the response. The hood latch to the vehicle had NO defect when it was brought to the business, that is why they did not inform me of it until the day the car was to be picked up. The car had a functioning and in place hood cable. Photographic PROOF of the shop damage ATTACHED. Obvious damage from attempting to PRY the hood open. How can they possibly explain the hood cable being on the outside of the car after picking it up if it were not operational when they received it? The shop has ADMITTED to breaking the hood latch on multiple occasions, citing their need for a "body man" to come fix it and adding to the delay of the car being ready.Entire sound system stolen from inside the trunk of the car, which requires the key to the car to access. Photographic PROOF ATTACHED. Photos of the cut wires that were cut to steal the sub-woofer and amplifier.Calls were placed to the business once a week for two months with delay after delay, and excuse after excuse. The car STILL will not maintain an idle and is not repaired correctly for the work they were supposed to do, let alone all of the damage and theft that occurred.Attached are photos of the damage done by the business as well as link to the investigative reporting by the local television news station regarding their business practices. This business has been reported to the Attorney General's office
