DISCOUNT RATES = DISCOUNT SERVICE: Customer service is obviously not a priority with Allegiant Air. We have just had 2 of the worst flying experiences of our lives and it involved both legs of our trip to/from Las Vegas out of Kalispell, MT. Our scheduled departure on December 4th was for 7:40 PM. However, we found out later that due to fog in Las Vegas, we were delayed for takeoff until 10:30 PM. I am very understandable at this point. We continued to receive delay notices until our plane finally arrived. We were loaded onto the plane at 11:30 AM. The plane required de-icing due to snow, so we sat at the gate for 1 hour with no air conditioning. At that point, we were informed that the pilots were out of flight time and were unloaded from the plane at 12:30 AM. The flight was then rescheduled for 12:30 PM the following day. Out of town customers were told that they did not receive any compensation because the delay was due to "weather" (not that the pilots couldn't figure out the number of hours they had booked). So we went home, very upset and tired and returned the next day for 3 more hours of delays. We had now spent 9 hours in the airport and lost 18 hours of our trip in Las Vegas. Unbeknownst to us, out return trip would be worse. We arrived to the airport with clear skies and good weather in Kalispell. The flight was scheduled to depart at 4:17 PM. However, one of our flight attendants decided to show up to work clearly INTOXICATED! She was kicked off of the flight and proceeded to flirt with male passengers in the crowd. It took 2 hours to bring in a new flight attendant. During that time the weather in Kalispell turned to freezing fog. Regardless, Allegiant loaded us on the plane and we departed 2 hours late. As we began descent into Kalispell, the plane began a strange flight pattern and the pilot pulled up the landing gear and informed us that due to fog, we would be landing in an airport that is 230 miles from Kalispell. At this point it is 11:00 PM. The flight was rescheduled for the next day at 12:30 PM. Rather than trust Allegiant Air, we decided to rent a vehicle and drive the 4 hours home on icy roads. We arrived home at 4:00 AM. The poor individuals that stayed and trusted Allegiant did not arrive home until December 8th at 3:20 PM, 17 hours after the original posted arrival of December 7th at 8:30 PM. I am absolutely disgusted with the poor choices made by this airline. I WILL NEVER FLY ALLEGIANT AIR AGAIN!!!!!!! There were approximately 150 people on each leg of our flight. Each one will absolutely tell at least 5 people about their bad experience. That's 1,500 individuals that will choose another airline in a relatively small community. I understand that Allegiant offers discount rates and as a result, you receive discount services (like no hotel reimbursement for "weather related" delays). As a business, you would be better off to raise your fares and offer some kind of delay compensation to travelers.

This is a terrible air line. Had an emergency situation arise. I will not give my private information to the CSR because they have absolutely no need to know what I am being treated for and when. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told "we have no supervisor or management" . I wonder how a business is run without supervisory or management staff. I couldn't get the flight pushed to another day or refunded. Was told that in hindsight to purchase the emergency insurance..... There will not be a next time with me for these people...

Flights were ontime however when flying from Orlando/Sanford to Fort Wayne IN 12/30/14 at 6:15pm all passagers had to wait until 7:45 for their luggage. No announcements were made about the delay and crowds of passageners were very upset.

I recently purchased tickets through Allegiant. Due to work I needed to change my reservation. I phoned into the help line to speak to an agent and was on hold for over an hour without speaking to an agent. I then tried to go on line and use their live chat option, this came up as "unavailable". I proceeded to email the company and received an automated response saying they would be in contact in 24 to 48 hours.

Waiting over an hour on the phone alone is inappropriate, let alone not having any other options to contact them.

The flight itself was unremarkable, ok service, no leg room, peanuts for snacks, and they nickel and dime you from luggage to water. However, they were cheap. The issue I have is with their coupon affiliate - trial period for 30 days. We took the coupon from travel adventure and great fun then promptly canceled the same week. However they never actually canceled our service. We tried multiple times to cancel. Each time the customer service rep were extremely friendly but yet they kept charging us! It has been over 12 months and still I can't get them to stop charging us $16.99 and we are filing fraud charges at this point.

Flight from Honolulu to LAX for my daughthers, who had to return for start of school was delayed 9 hours, no customer service whatsoever, no apologies, no amends. Then on my subsequent flight back to LAX, right about to take off, plane is recalled to gate due to mechanical problems, we arw kept inside a hot, very uncomfortable plane for 2 hours. same level of indifference and lack of service. Come to find out from many reviews this is a normal occurrence, and just the way Allegiant does business. Worst airline experience for my family.

I was a passenger on Allegiant flight #340 that departed from Los Angeles International Airport, traveling to Medford, Oregon on May 12, 2016. Our scheduled flight was to depart at 4:01pm. We didn't leave until after 8pm and arrived in MFR after 10pm. I traveled with two young children and was told "no" when I asked if I could get help from a stewardess with my luggage (I said I'd even wait to the side until everyone was off the plane, because holding a 2-year-old and controlling a 4-year-old myself wasn't going to allow me to get my luggage out of the overhead compartment when we were told to deplane and wait for a new plane).

Once we arrived in MFR I found that both my car seat and stroller had been damaged and the company only covered my car seat replacement cost. I had to battle with them via email because no one was working at the airport, nor was there a direct number to baggage to speak with someone.

The experience was much more detailed and frustrating than this review.

Allegiant stranded a plane load of customers at Bellingham Airport on December 23/16, and made no attempt to reroute or provide another plane the next day. They used a day of rain mixed with snow as an excuse, but [redacted] Air was able to make all of their connections. The messages sent out as texts to passengers waiting were very confusing and inaccurate. at one time they said that the plane was on time some 6 hours after it failed to land. Their staff was poorly trained and not at all helpful or polite.

Girlfriend and I bought tickets to visit family for the holidays. Found the tickets fairly cheap and figured we would give it a shot. After our first delay we got a little nervous and checked their reviews. Gave them benefit of the doubt, they failed to deliver, and here I am sitting in an airport posting an angry review along with other travelers. Terrible service. Multiple delays with their only excuse being "We are running behind schedule" I understand it is the holiday season but when you book a flight you expect it be on time. The tickets are cheaper than other airlines which is a plus but not enough to compensate the lost time and headache associated with their insane delays and cancellations. No offer of a refund on the tickets or a discount. Anyone thinking about flying with this company should just pay the extra money to go with an actual airline.

The airline delayed the flight so that I was unable to attend a special event for which I had purchased expensive tickets and therefore had no reason to fly to Orlando. I called the airline and spoke to Larry - [redacted] who was extremely rude and unapologetic. He refused to issue a refund, credit, or even a voucher for future travel. He also refused to let me speak to a supervisor or another agent. There is nothing in Allegiant Air's terms and conditions provided to customer outlining a policy against refunding or crediting a customer in the event of a delay. It is standard industry policy to issue a refund in an airline delay.

Allegiant Air is a scam. So much so that I am going to forfeit my tickets on January 15 and book on Southwest. These people should not even be allowed to operate in the USA. After talking with their Customer Service (which is an oxymoron) I decided that I would never step foot on one of their planes. SCAM!!! Don't even consider flying with these thieves.

Allegiant's unethical practices are shown with my experience renting a car along with my flight. When booking a rental car, Allegiant charges their customers through a double-payment system where the customer first pays for the rental car service in advance and then pays the rental car company additional fees after the car is returned. This second payment (for fees) is NOT a part of the agreed upon price with Allegiant at the time of the purchase. In my case, I agreed upon a rate of $180 for the car. When I returned the car I was charged an additional $59 from the rental car company. I was disappointed to realize that Allegiant buries this double-payment scheme in the fine print of the travel plan agreement. I called Allegiant to try and get my $59 refunded. Allegiant assured me that the double-payment scheme is legal and refused to refund me the $59. I refuse to deal with businesses that overlook ethical concerns and hide behind legal compliance. I will never fly Allegiant again.

Allegiant Air may be a low-cost airline, but you get what you pay for. I've flown with them 6 times, 4 of which the flights were significantly delayed (2+ hours). They refuse to make any refunds, even on completely cancelled flights. They don't have mechanics at their airports (smaller airports), so when something goes wrong they have to get a mechanic to come to their plane to make fixes.
Today, the flight has been delayed nearly 4 hours, and the gate agents have continued to lie about departure, telling passengers one thing and TSA agents another.
They charge huge fees for carry ons and checked luggage. They do not provide free water on flights. Most of their planes are outdated and uncomfortable.

Allegiant airlines has not only screwed us over big time yesterday and today.. but they have lied to us on several accounts! We were supposed to fly out of peoria il to mesa AZ January 3rd. Well long story short something was wrong with the plane.. so instead of getting us a new plane, they flew in a mechanic from AZ. To only work on it all night long and reschedule us the next day. Well the time of take off they tell us that the plane is still broke. Something is wrong with it. Again!!! So now at 1 pm January the 4th ( a day later) they decide to fly a new plane to the airport for us to leave on. All the way from Pittsburgh. That plane arrived about 4 hours later. As that one arrives, we now are waiting to board it for 3 more hours. Now something is wrong with the paperwork. So we can't board. Then they let us board only to find out we are on the same exact plane that was broken yesterday. The other air craft is sitting next to us and for some reason isn't being used!!

This was horrible multiple delays a then a cancellation. Want money and credits promised by airline for inconvenience. Someone also needs to train staff and flight attendants on customer service. Horrible is all I have to say.

Allegiant Air should be called [redacted] Air because that is what you endure when dealing with them before, during and after your trip!! Cheap flights = zero, zip, zilch - absolutely no customer service whatsoever. This company has the longest list of excuses I have ever seen. They refuse to do the right thing by their customers.

The only compliment I can pay them is they do a great job of training their employees to be 100% useless. If working for Allegiant Air was the only job I could find I would take up pan handling.

I refuse to fly this airline ever again. When possible I will choose [redacted] every time!

This has literally been the worst experience I have ever had dealing with airlines or any customer service in general. When my boyfriend got to the airport with plenty of time to spare they informed him he had missed his flight because they decided to send everyone home. We got charged a fee for a missed flight and now have to eat all the travel costs including two days missed work because this happened over the weekend and the plane ticket went from $100 to $400+ the next two days. I waited on the phone for over 30 minutes to talk to the customer service representative and I was informed he didn't check in (because they wouldn't allow him to) and at that point there is no refund for a "missed" flight. I started to reply and the customer service representative hung up on me.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life and he has to travel on a weekly basis all over the country. We had to book this flight last minute and now it has ended up costing us $1000. This is absolutely outrageous. This morning I was calm and friendly on the phone because I understand customer service representatives get yelled at all morning for things they can't control. I have absolutely never been hung up on by someone who gets paid to take care of customers. We will eat the cost of this flight but I highly suggest spending the extra money on a better company especially if the reason you are flighting is time sensitive. On the bright side we are lucky he didn't lose his job for this.
