I saw the new complaint status and [redacted] had already told me he wasn't going to deposit the check. That wasn't an issue. The issue was that this company or perhaps just [redacted] and the crew that was dispatched to my house on Saturday, is not qualified to do pluming work. There was no logical explanation given as to how they reached their conclusion that it was tree roots causing a ruptured main water pipe all of which was incorrect. This in itself was bad enough but we were scrambling to find the $3,300.00 that  was going to be billed to us to do the work THAT DID NOT NEED TO BE DONE. I think other people should know about their shody workmanship. That was the whole reason I contacted the Revdex.com.

Review: My air conditioning unit was not cooling properly. My home warranty company [redacted] assigned Alliance to check my unit on June 4, 2014. They determined it needed freon and scheduled to add freon June 9, 2014 at 10 am. They never came or called. I have a tenant in my house and she called me on June 11th to inform me that no came. I called Alliance and they told me, "they ran out of freon", but offered no excuse as to why they didn't call or come the next day. They came out later on 6/11/14 and told me the ac unit and coil needed to be replaced. They said it would be 6/18/14 or so before they could get the new unit. After several calls and non replies and another promise to install the unit on 6/21/2014 it was finally installed on 6/27/2014. My tenant called me on July 1, 2014 to tell me the new unit was not lowering the temperature very much by 7/13/14 the unit was frozen again. After multiple calls they came out and said it needed a TXV valve and scheduled to be there on the following Friday I think 7/18/14. I went to the house and waited. No one came I called and was given several reasons they were delayed including a flat tire but no one ever came. A week later 7/25/14 they again scheduled to install this valve. I received a call from Alliance that their recovery machine was down and they would have to reschedule. I drove to Alliance's office and sat there until the owner came and finally said he would meet me at the house later that afternoon. I did and he said there was a dirty filter that was the problem. He put more freon in and left saying all was well. Again this did not fix the problem so he said it needed a new air handler and thermostat. After another week and a half they scheduled a day and time to install this equipment this date was 7/31/14 or 8/1/14. Alliance called me the morning of the appointment and said they would have to postpone the installation because it was going to rain and the forecast was for wet weather until 8/6/14! They finally came 2 hours after the scheduled appointment on 8/6/14 and installed the new gas furnace and air handler and thermostat. The unit cooled the house from 80 degrees to 78 and they left. My tenant called the next day to say the ac would not go below 75 degrees. I called Alliance on 8/8/14 and they said they would call me on 8/9/14 and come out to look at the system. I never had any call nor did they ever come. On 8/10/14 my tenant called me to say the system had frozen up again. So, the system is in exactly the same condition it was in on 6/4/14. The insurance company has paid for a new ac unit part of which ($400.00) I had to pay to Alliance because it was an upgrade from what was existing, a new coil, a new gas furnace, a new air handler and a new thermostat. It is apparent that Alliance ever knew what was wrong or what to fix (replace), but worst of all is the total lack of communication and customer care with multiple appointments missed during this saga - 67 days and counting.Desired Settlement: I am very skeptical that my system ever needed to be replaced. The original problem (frozen unit) still exists after all these parts have been replaced. I feel like I had to pay $400.00 to replace something that was not broken.

To warn other would be victims before they hire this company.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I read [redacted] response that she purchased a pad for the unit that was installed in JUNE. I had already paid a reputable company to bring the unit up to state code requirements by installing a pad and legs. However, this is not the basis for my complaint. I made the complaint because Alliance Air Duct was working on the ac because it had frozen up in early JUNE. After replacing the ac unit, coil, thermostat, gas furnace and air handler the unit froze up again and it was AUGUST! That is when I instructed my home warranty company, [redacted] that I did not want Alliance to do any further work on my ac system as it was apparent that they did not know what they were doing. I had contacted Alliance when the system froze up again after they had replaced all those parts. They never even returned my telephone call.

At this point [redacted] sent a new company and they found that Alliance had improperly installed the coil in that they placed insulation against the right side of the coil preventing air from moving across the coil. In addition, Alliance installed the oil filter on the air conditioning unit out side backwards. The new company also pointed out that state code was not met as Alliance did not put a new pad with legs on the new unit (something the new company said was included in the price they charge for all new ac units). In addition, no clean out was installed on the air handler in the garage so that any future issues with the unit freezing up would result in the furnace motor being flooded with water. I also paid the new company to install the proper clean out and back up drain for the unit.

Alliance over the course of more than 2 months replaced the entire hvac system to correct an original freezing up issue. I am not convinced all those parts needed to be replaced. They failed to show up for promised dates to repair the system on multiple occasions and in the end provided faulty workmanship resulting in the system freezing up.

They advised me to move the air filter in the ac system from the unit in the garage to a return inside the house which was not the proper thing to do.

My experience with Alliance's work and reliability was totally unacceptable by any standard of service. At this point I don't want anything else from this disreputable company. I do want to warn any unsuspecting people from becoming involved with such an incompetent company.

Review: Had a new HVAC unit installed and requested pricing to have an additional thermostat installed on the 3rd floor for zone heating on that floor. We were told that they would only need to install dampers and the additional thermostat to get the coverage that was desired. The cost would be included with some additional work that needed to be performed to bring the unit up to code. The total cost was $826.00, $500.00 of which, the dampers and the thermostat, was not performed. When we called to question getting the work rescheduled we were told that the quote was incorrect and that the job would cost $2800.00. At that point we stated that we did not want the work done and have made several request for them to mail us a $500.00 refund. They also have a company called [redacted] with the same address and phone #. They were to do the duct cleaning when they returned to do the dampers. This service was never done. The cost was $400.00. This make the total return request $900.00Desired Settlement: Reimbursement of $900.00 for services not performed.

Response:

Revdex.com spoke with [redacted] of the business. She said that the refund for the $500.00 dollars would not be a problem, it will be refunded by the middle of end of next week.

Review: I had Alliance air Duct install a HVAC system on Oct. 26 , 2015 . While installing the unit they managed to damage my laundry sink and they not properly seal off the exhaust hole from old unit. Spoke to the office 11-16-15 and 12-7-15 and each time they said they would come the next day and they don't show.Desired Settlement: make the repairs and finish the job.

Review: I originally contacted Alliance Air through my Warranty Company. Alliance Air "REQUIRED" a pre-payment for the services provided. Based on the original quote, I was supposed to get new duct work and a heat pump system. When the team from Alliance Air arrived on my property, they decided, it would be "best" to retro fit the current duct work, and as a result after a long conversation with the owner, I received a 100 dollar discount. Two guys came out to the property, but one sat in the car most of the day, and upon completion, I noticed that the retro fit system was leaking air from the main vent. I mentioned it to Alliance Air (Both the owners and the service guys). They said, no problem, please let the tape settle and we will come out and fix if it persists.

I have been in touch with Larry for three months now, and every time we talk he schedules a visit two weeks out. The two weeks never arrive, and I get the "I sent you an email, did you not get it response" . Furthermore, the guys that made the installation made a mess in my garage, I kep finding scrap metal and loose screws in my car for weeks after the installation. I am glad I did not get a flat in my tires.Desired Settlement: [redacted] or his team need to come out and get this done on a promised date so we can move on with this repair before the summer kicks in and the air leak becomes a problem

Response:

[redacted] stated that he is scheduled for June 9th to have the issued look at, he has been on the schedule for three weeks for that date.

Review: We purchased this service through a [redacted] coupon which was to pay for an HVAC inspection. At the time they came we also purchased a maintenance contract for @[redacted] for bi annual inspections and servicing of indoor and outdoor units. However, when they left we discovered they had left lights on, crawl space door open, hose slung about (not coiled up the way I had it before they got there, trash lying around (drink cans) but MOST OF ALL they failed to assess that the gas-fired furnace was non-functional and potentially dangerous, i.e., leaking carbon dioxide into our home. We had to call another HVAC company when we were getting no heat downstairs during the coldest part of the winter and they had to replace our furnace immediately.Desired Settlement: A full refund of the contract price of $225

Review: Hired Alliance to install a heat pump. Installation was incomplete. Did not hook up heat pump, did not install the grill or placed the temp plate on the unit or relocated the air filter. Called five times keep getting the run around as to when someone will be out to complete the job they were paid to do. I paid this company in full and it appears they are not honoring their contract to finish the job.Desired Settlement: Finish installing the heat pump, install the grill, install the temp plate on unit and relocate the air filter.

Business

Response:

Revdex.com spoke with [redacted] from the business. The customer's heat pump is installed they are still working with tech support of the system to determine if parts inside have gone bad due to a fire. The grill has been installed but a temp plate and an air filter are not on the contract they they with this customer. At this time they are still working towards resolution.

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Alliance is not true in the facts on this issue. They continue to avoid returning my calls and the grill was an item requested in the orginial contract. On May 28, 2015, Alliance sent out a Technician to trouble shoot the problem, but again they were unable to resolve the issue. Their Technician complain to me that Alliance was suppose to sent a Technician from [redacted] with him to help resolve the problem with the heat pump installation and why it was not working. On Thursday, May 28, 2015, I called Alliance twice and finally got to speak with [redacted] and she stated that she would send someone else out to trouble shoot the problem on Friday, May 29, 2015. I have requested a new unit since they are unable to fix the one installed andit is still under warranty. I also requested that the service provider place a name plate on the unit and give me registration papers so the unit can be registered. I will wait the seven days before getting back with you to see if Alliance resolve my problem.

Review: I called Alliance Air and Duct the Tuesday before Thanksgiving because I had a living social voucher for which the promotional value ($149) had expired, but the paid value ($29) had not. I called and asked to set an appointment for an HVAC maintenance visit, which was set for December 1. I asked if it was still $149 for the visit and was told they had a holiday special of 99$, and that she would put 29$ paid from my voucher in my file making the total amount owed at the time of service $70, as my roommate would be the one receiving their workers, as I work 9-5. After 2 missed appointments (one because we were not put on the "main calendar" and another due to them running hours late and my roommate having to reschedule so he could go to work), they finally came and charged my roommate $129 (the full $149 minus the voucher amount of $29). When I was made aware of this I called Alliance Air to inquire as to whether the special was still being run and to ask why we had been charged more, I was transferred to [redacted] who told me she would check into it and call me back. She did not. I called to follow up two business days after, (by this time it was the Friday prior to Christmas), and was told she would send me a reimbursement check of $49. I never received anything, so I called to follow up again this past Monday 1/12/2015 and was told [redacted] was in a meeting and that she'd call me back. She did not. I called again on Tuesday and she answered the phone, when I asked about the check she said she had confused me with another customer with my same last name and never sent the check and that she was busy in the moment and that she'd get her files out and call me later. I informed her that I work 9-5, which are also their business hours, and had been calling on my lunch breaks and wouldn't be able to answer if we waited until later and she assured me she would leave a message when she had taken care of it. She did not. I called a final time today and no one answered the phone. If I leave a message, experience tells me I will not be called back, and after over a month of trying to get reimbursed I am thinking I should've filed this complaint from the get-go.Desired Settlement: I just want my money back, that's all I've tried to achieve. I feel like my case is being neglected and I have had to do far too much work to try and get this money back. Clearly they run specials and do not make their workers aware, that or the workers don't care to honor the promotions. Through this entire process, if someone had even apologized for the inconvenience they have caused I may have continued to use my own efforts, but I am continually being made to feel like a bother. $49 may seem trivial, but for me it is a week of groceries and I would appreciated if this business would have conducted itself with more integrity.

Regards,

Review: On Thursday March 5th, Alliance came to my home as scheduled to repair a short in my heat pump. We went into the crawl space where the air handler was and one of the service men opened the air handler and said that all the wires were cut and the caps were missing. And that the wires touching the metal case was the cause of the short. So they rewired the air handler. when the system continued to short out, they said that that they need to rewire the air handler. They then spent three hours " rewiring "the air handler yet not looking for the short. I had them call my husband who was away but is HVAC certified who told them the 24 volt line had a short. They never checked the wiring for a break but just continued to "rewire" the heat pump and air handler.. Then they told me that the thermostat was bad, and I needed a new one. They said that they would get me a really good one from [redacted]. They returned and installed a new Honeywell thermostat for which they charged me $85 ( the thermostat retails in many stores including [redacted]s for $39.95) They did not give me reciept for the thermostat. Finally, they told me they could not fix my heat pump that they would have to rewire the whole system to fix the problem. They then charged me $225 for their "rewiring"

On Saturday my husband returned home, and within 20 minutes found that there was a break in one of the 24 volt wires. He taped it with electrical tape, checked the air handler and said it was exactly has he had originally wired it. Nothing had been changed because any other wiring arrangement would not work. Once he taped the broken wire, the system worked perfectly.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $45 for the overcharge on the thermostat and a refund of $100 for the supposed "rewiring" that they did which did not fix my heat pump.

Regards,

Review: We had our unit looked at by [redacted]. He wasn’t quite sure of what the problem was. He made some sort of adjustment & it worked fine while he was at the house. He wrote on his receipt that he would come back & look at it again as well as fix it, if it started underperforming again without an additional service fee. Several weeks later, the problem returned. I called him almost monthly with no response for 6 months. Finally, almost a year later, I was able to contact him. He sold his business to his brother/sister-in-law who owns Alliance. They agreed to come out without a service fee to assess the dishwasher again. There was a part that went bad & they sent me the invoice. I found the part for $70 less & ordered it. They came out & installed the part, but had to come back to install the dishwasher under the cabinet. They cancelled on me 2-3 times. There was always some excuse why they couldn't come out on the promised day to reinstall the unit. On one call to their office, I could hear the owner in the background yelling, "[[redacted]] Tell him to stop calling! He can get someone else to do it!" When they finally reinstalled it, the back end was pitched way down. The unit works, but it looks ridiculous; like it doesn't fit it with the cabinets. That was not the case before they re-installed the unit. No one called me to discuss any issue with the installation. It is fixed, but it looks like it was poorly installed. It looks like they just wanted to cross that task off of their list of chores; they didn't care if it looked right or not.Desired Settlement: Ultimately, I want the dishwasher fixed & for it to look like it is installed properly. It's fixed; they need to install it so that it doesn't look out of place.

Regards,

[redacted] Thank you for speaking with me today. I’d like to clarify some things with regard to Larry’s reply… At the time the business was owned by his brother. This is incorrect. His brother was the first to look at the dishwasher. The issue was intermittent & was not a problem when he came to my home. He said I could call him if the issue started, again & he would reassess the problem at no charge. I called numerous times after the problem started again & my calls/messages were never answered. I finally got a hold of the brother who advised me to call Alliance because they had agreed to handle/honor the commitments he had with his previous clients. He worked for Alliance at that point. His brother stopped servicing the home due to the condition of the home. This is inaccurate. Alliance agreed to fix my unit after it was determined that it needed a new pump motor. His brother installed the motor & advised me that there was a leaking pipe that had caused water damage to a piece of particle board/chip wood on the floor that the dishwasher was sitting on. He asked me to remove the particle board & get rid of the mold. I removed the particle board & removed the mold using diluted bleach & Mold Armour Instant Mold and Mildew Stain Remover. I ran a heater fan in that area for 2 days to dry it out as well. The area under the cabinet was swept & vacuumed clean before any mold remediation was done. The customer got in contact with [redacted] and they did install the dishwasher and finish the contracted job. Even after the area was prepped, it still took them a week to get out to install the dishwasher. When I came home, the dishwasher had been installed. The bottom of the dishwasher clearly protrudes far enough beyond the façade of the lower cabinets so that you see the insulation surrounding the tub as well as the springs for the door, but at that point I was so frustrated with how long it took them to install it under the cabinet & I had mountains of dishes to clean; I was going to use it. They did install the dishwasher; however, it does not look like it was professionally done. Obviously, clutter/cleanliness of my home did not inhibit them from being able to install the dishwasher; they just did a really awful job. They are not able to have their employees service the home at this time due to the condition of the home. They have not been to my home since they installed the dishwasher back under my counter. If the customer cleans his home and can show where the services were not completed the business will get someone to go to the home and fix the issues. They no longer service appliances at this time. So… what is the suggested resolution, here? Are they asking me to clean my home so that they can come back to install the dishwasher properly only to tell me when I call that they no longer service appliances at this time? I’m not asking them to do anything to the appliance other than to reinstall it so that it looks like it was done by a professional. I could have installed it & had the same result. I paid them to install it because I thought they would do a better job. My desired outcome remains the same. I want them to come back & reinstall the dishwasher under my lower cabinets so that the trim of the dishwasher is flush or slightly recessed from the cabinet facing; I shouldn’t be able to see any “parts” of the dishwasher beyond the cabinet facing.

Review: A new HVAC unit was installed on 2/26/13, on 12/12/13 the outside unit was frozen like a block of ice and it would not heat the house. I contacted [redacted] owner [redacted] and he informed me that he had sold his company to Alliance Air & Duct and that they would be honoring his warranties. I contacted Alliance Air & Duct, they came to inspect the unit but have informed me that they didn't quite buy the company but only bought the phone number from [redacted]. I am stuck in a situation where no one wants to be responsible for repairing a unit that is under warranty, [redacted] the manufacturer of the unit said that even though [redacted] was their dealer they are not responsible for their labor warranties. I am stuck in a house running on emergency heat only because the outside unit had to be disconnected, I have a pregnant wife and 2 kids who have to be bundled up all night and day when we are in the house because we are afraid to ruin the Emergency heat all the time and make more damage to the unit. My electric bill next month will be high because we are only running on the Emergency heat only. I have the contracts and all the documentation for the unit. I need help because I spent $4500 for a new unit that is under warranty and nobody wants to be held responsible for repairing it.Desired Settlement: My family and I would like the outside unit to be repaired or exchanged because it is a brand new unit and we already have issues with it. We would also want [redacted] or [redacted] to pay for a 2 years maintenance program for the HVAC unit with the contractor of my choice and to pay for my December 2013 electric bill. These have been the coldest days of the year and the rain hasn't helped, I am sure we will not have anything resolved soon but I ask that you look into your hearts and help us because we no longer have the money to pay for repairs and with 2 kids and a pregnant wife, it is not fair that I have to pay for a service that I have paid for already.

Review: I started dealing with this company Tuesday July 2. They found my HVAC unit frozen and extremely low on coolant. The service guy said he would turn it off so it would thaw overnight. He said in the morning he would add 7 lbs of coolant and charge it for me. My 24 year old son was home the entire day. When I arrived home from work at 5:30 no one had come. I called and the lady on the phone said I needed a leak test first and got the man to come that evening. The leak test was bad as I had a part that needed to be replaced. They called the next day to say the part is no longer made and I should just get a new unit. I agreed to a new unit but didn't ask what type/brand they were going to get. I was just desperate for AC and agreed to the price. They said they would come Monday July 7 and put in the new unit. They called Sunday night and left a message saying they "Forgot" Friday the 4th was a holiday. Why did they wait until Sunday the 6th to tell me the holiday was two days past and prevented them from doing my work Monday. They they said they would have it in Tuesday and I stayed home waiting for them. I have called them at least 4 times and they promised every time they would get it in today. The last time I talked to them (two hours ago) they said they were on their way. It is now 4:42 and I don't believe they will come. They have my credit card number and I will have to try and get my deposit back. This has been the worst service I have ever encountered and I am 50. This scam company needs to be put out of business.Desired Settlement: I am so angry right now I don't know how to answer that. If they were going to put in a decent to nice unit (not low budget) I want them to do it ASAP and give me a discount for so many delays and inaccurate promises. In the meantime I have another company giving me a unit in the morning.

Thank you for looking into this for me.

The customer said this has been resolved and if she doesn't get the receipt in the next day or so she would contact our office back at that time.

Review: Our furnace died in January, and Alliance came out to replace it with a new heat pump. The work was started on January 27. They still have not finished the job. I have lost track of how many appointments for which they have no-showed, and they often do not call when they say they will. They have even lied before about coming and either calling or leaving a business card when someone was actively home and no one ACTUALLY came by. We have holes in our drywall and chimney that they are supposed to fix. It is May. This has been going on for almost four months.Desired Settlement: We have already paid for this service and would like them either to finish the job or give us our money back for the remainder of the work so we can move on and find someone else to do it! I would also like to be compensated for the inordinate amount of time I have spent chasing them down to get them to finish the job.

I accept this offer; however, Alliance has said that they would refund us on Friday and have not done that yet.

Review: lOn Feburary 2 (yesterday) my homeowners warranty company contacted Alliance air & Duct regarding a plumbing issue we were having. Our sewage from our toilets was backing up into our tubs and not flushing properly. When the company arrived they looked under the crawl space of the house and noticed moisture. The dug around a small section near the front to try andl locate the external access outlet and were unable to find it. There was no waste in the yard or wetness BUT without snaking anything or using cameras they said we had a ruptured water main due to tree roots and that it would cost us $3,300.00 to fix it. We were in contact with [redacted] all day trying to find out to come up with this money. When he was at the house we paid him 75.00 with a check pas per our agreement with our insurance company. He would finance part of it if we paid the majority and we would have a payment plan with him. Around 3pm that afternoon we contacted another company for a second opinion. This plumber arrived and immediately found the external outlet which was only partially buried. He snaked the pipe and said that it was not a ruptured pipe due to roots. He said no plumber would be able to know exactly WHAT the issue was without snaking the pipe. Especially since there was no waste in the yard. The problem was a clogged main pipe due to grease. He fixed it all within 45 minutes or less and charged us $240.00. I asked him more than once how he knew it wasn't roots. And he showed me the snake he used and I watched as he pulled it out of the pipe. He said if it was tree roots then there would be roots that the snake would have to cut through and pull out. There was nothing but visible grease.

Alliance was very incompetent and would have cost us a fortune had we not asked for a second opinion.
