Alliance Laundry Systems Response • Jan 04, 2019

Dear Mr. XXXXX, we are sorry to learn of the circumstances that caused you to contact our company and that you are not satisfied with the washer you have purchased. As the manufacture we are responsible for honoring the terms of the warranty, any requests for returns or refunds would be the responsibility of the selling dealer since that is where the product was purchased.

Dear Mr. XXXXX, we do apologize but the information provided to you regarding the washer motor was not accurate. The current designed washer uses a motor that is twice the horsepower for the previous model.

I purchased a speed queen TR5 washer and and dryer two months ago. They are broken. I want to return them.

Alliance Laundry Systems Response • Nov 30, 2018

Dear Ms., we are certainly sorry to learn of the circumstances that caused you to contact our company. Alliance Laundry Systems recommends contacting your nearest service provider as the warranty coverage of the products you purchased is a repair, not replacement or refund type warranty. You can certainly discuss your request with the dealer you purchased the washer & dryer from as this would be their decision to refund your purchase prices.

Best regards

My washing machine has not been working for quite a while and despite many attempts to have it serviced the issues have still not been resolved. They have sent me to many different appliance repair companies and still none have actually made te necessary repairs. I spent a lot of money on a washing machine because I needed something top quality and dependable and they have completely let me down. The machine is still under warrantee but they have failed to deliver results.

Alliance Laundry Systems Response • Nov 28, 2018

Dear we are certainly sorry to learn of the circumstances that caused you to contact our company. Please provide the machine serial number found under the loading door and provide a detailed description of what your washer is or is not doing. We will then work directly with the service provider to correct these conditions.

Best regards

Alliance Laundry Systems Response • Nov 29, 2018

Dear Mrs. , we do apologize but without the serial number we are not able to help repairing your washer. The manufactures warranty is a repair warranty, not a replacement product warranty. We can certainly assist in helping the local service provider in determining what could be causing the issue you are experiencing but we will need the serial number & the name of the repair companies that were at your home.

I have attached the warranty bond outlining what is and what is not covered under the terms of the product warranty.

Best regards

FOURTH REPAIR ATTEMPT scheduled for Thursday, 11/8/18
Issue: Washing machine leaks water

I have been more than patient with the repair, under warranty, of this washing machine. Speed Queens authorized/trained servicers clearly cannot repair this washing machine as it still leaks! I am requesting the machine be replaced with a new machine.

Alliance Laundry Systems Response • Nov 12, 2018

We are sorry to learn of the circumstances that caused you to contact our company. Please provide the machine serial number of the washer so we can fully investigate the issue you are experiencing. This information can be found under the loading door.

Once received we will be in a better position to respond to your complaint.

My washer has given me a problem from the beginning of bleach stains on clothes. After I wash a white load with bleach, the next load or two of dark clothes washed without bleach sometimes will have bleach stains, completely ruining the item. I have done everything they suggested but it continues to happen. We contacted Alliance and they advised us to have a local authorized speed queen repairman come to check the machine. There was evidence of bleach that had run down the outside of the tub and had corroded a tub spring, which he replaced. I was using splashless bleach and he suggested we try regular bleach, which I did. I still continue to have the same problem so I called Alliance again. I spoke to Wayne and advised him of my problem a second time and was informed this was impossible to do and basically said I was lying. I informed him of everything the repair man told me and didn't want to listen to me. He advised me he would not do anything else for me and would not pay any repairman to come out again for a bleach issue. I did not appreciate being called a liar several times. When he told me they would not pay for any further repairs for this problem, I called the repairman who came out and he said he would contact them. He did and they told him they would not pay him to make any service calls regarding this issue.

We are sorry to learn of the circumstances that caused you to contact our company. In order to fully investigate your complaint please provide the machine serial number. This information can be found under the loading door of the washer.

thank you

MB

Alliance Laundry Systems Response • Nov 30, 2018

Thank you for the information. We have discussed your issue with the service provider & he will be contacting you to set up 1 final inspection of the bleach dispenser. Based on the description provided by the service provider excessive overfilling of the bleach dispenser is taking place which in turn is causing the suspension springs to rust & the marking you are experiencing. We would recommend careful dispensing of the bleach and to follow any bleach addition with a cup of water poured slowing to flush any residue bleach into the outer tub.

We will be more than happy for the service man to come back but to just let you know, I am only using a half cup of bleach on a large load. The service manual said you can use a whole cup on a large load. I also have been putting a cup to a cup an a half of water in the dispenser after I add bleach since it first started ruining our clothes. Any other suggestions you have we will be more than happy to try. Since our last communication, the washer has ruined clothes on two more occasions.

July 13, 2018. My debit card had exactly $5.00 available. I went to the laundry room to wash one load of clothes. The washer and dryer are $1.50 each. Credit or debit cards are required. The machines do not accept coins. I followed the directions and swiped my card to start the washer. Within moments I received a text from my bank saying I was overdrawn and they had transferred money from my savings to cover the overdraft. I called the bank and told them I had only made a charge of $1.50 and I asked them why was my account overdrawn. They told me that the charge from the laundromat was $8.00 not $1.50.

I called the phone number that was listed on one of the machines in the laundry room at at (9:21 a.m.). The customer service woman spoke in broken English and she wanted a lot of information from me. I explained that all I had was $5.00 to do one wash and one dry. She said she was sorry but the "system" puts a $8.00 hold on the debit card. I asked her why she just said the system does it. I told her I wanted my money placed back on my card immediately. She said she would have to send me a check. I told her I did not want a check. She then said her system was down; however the same "system" that put the hold on my card was working. I asked her who the owner of the company was she said she could not give me that information. I asked her twice and she refused to give me any information. She said the hold would come off in 48 to 72 hours.

I think their actions border on fraud because there are no signs or signage that say they will place a hold of $8.00 on your card. I should only have paid $1.50. It is not up to the "system" to deplete my available funds and then expect me to wait for the hold to drop off. I have a right to know what I am paying up front. If my bank had not covered the overdraft I would not have been able to wash the clothes.

This particular business practice is fraud in the form of theft. I'm led to believe that I'm paying one thing and they charge me another. I asked to speak to a manager who's English was just as bad. She continued to blame the problem on the "system" and tell me how sorry she was but there was nothing she could do.

Basically, they are placing a $4.00 hold for each machine. There are two machines, one for washing and one for drying. What if I didn't want to dry my clothes and I only wanted to wash them? would they still put a $8.00 hold on my card for one machine? This particular practice should stop immediately. They took advantage and gave me no warning.

Alliance Laundry Systems Response • Jul 16, 2018

Dear Ms., we are certainly sorry to learn of the circumstances that caused you to contact our company. Alliance Laundry Systems is a manufacturer of commercial laundry equipment that is sold to a variety of customers globally. Our company does not manage laundry rooms or sell a card system as you describe & it appears the system was added to equipment made by our company by the company that runs the laundry at your place of residence.

We do apologize but you will need to resolve this with the company managing the laundry.

Best regards

Our Speed Queen dryer began overheating on Saturday June 2nd. I contacted Favtory Appliance Service per our warranty through *** on Monday June 4th. They told me that the earliest someone would come out would be June 13th between 8-12. At 1:00 on the 13th I hadn’t heard anything so I called them back. They said they actually had MEANT July 13th. I told them that was not what I was told and someone finally came out on the 19th. The technician diagnosed the problem and said the parts would be ordered that day and be in in 2-3 days. A week later I hadn’t heard anything so I called back (June 25th). They told me the parts had just been ordered that day and would be in in 2-3 days. Today, June 29th I still hadn’t heard from them. When I called they said my account would be marked urgent and I would be contacted immediately with an update. 5 hours later my husband had to call to get anyone to answer our question. Now one of the parts is on back-order and their technicians won’t be available to come until July 13th. That’s 6 weeks of waiting for our dryer to be fixed. We are a family of 5 with 3 young children and cannot do our laundry. This is absolutely ridiculous. They don’t actually ever call you when they say they’re going to and when I told them I would be reporting them to the Revdex.com they couldn’t care less.

I have contacted Factory Appliance Service & they informed me that the required parts arrived today 7/6/2018 and they will be calling you to set up the appointment.

I was so excited to get my first speed queen. I got it in August 2017. This past month which would be June 2018, my speed queen started spewing suds out of the drain pipe during the final rinse. I just got off the phone with a customer service representative (who eventually hung up on me). He told me that I was using too much soap. I told him because of septic issues I have never used too much soap and since the suds I’ve now cut my HE laundry detergent down to 1 tablespoon (Which I don’t think is enough to keep the clothes clean). But even with that suds keep coming! The customer service representative told me that someone used to much soap lately in the laundry. I explained that I am the only one doing the laundry. He challenged me on that and said he didn’t believe me. He told me that if I only use fabric softener my situation would go away. I explained to him that every time I do a load of laundry I use fabric softener. He again challenged me on that and said that can’t be the case. After going back-and-forth and he insinuating that suddenly after 10 months of no issues some one broke into my house to do a load of laundry with too much soap and fabric softener never being used this is the route of my problem. Instead of investing in a speed queen, maybe I should install a security camera to see the magic fairies that are pouring in extra soap and sucking out the fabric softener at the same time! he presumes he knows what is going on in my house and knows exactly what’s happening...And when I said I was going to reach out to consumer reports and online. He laughed . He would not allow me to speak to a supervisor and ended the call by hanging up on me!! Never have I been treated so rudely by such a pompous customer service representative!
I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SPEED QUEEN MACHINE or any other product manufactured by ALLIANCE! So sad you try to support an American company and get treated like that...

Alliance Laundry Systems Response • Jun 20, 2018

Dear Ms., we are certainly sorry to hear of the circumstances that caused you to contact our company. In reviewing your letter we again are sorry that we could not satisfy your request when speaking with our technician.

Based on your letter it appears the washer operated with no issue until just recently so something has changed to create the condition you are experiencing. I will start with the washer items first. I know you stated that you are using fabric softener but I am not clear if you are using liquid softener in the washer or softener sheets in the dryer. The liquid softener in the washer cuts all suds residue in the washer. Please run a small water level on hot and add a full cup of liquid softener to the wash tub and let the washer complete the cycle. This should clear out any residual detergent in the washer and the drain system.

The second item would be to check to insure the stand pipe adaptor is still in place. This is a black rubber fitting that slides onto the end of the white drain hose & fits inside the drain pipe. While every washer is shipped with one we find installers sometimes remove & discard this adaptor.

And lastly over time a drain system can become restricted that will not allow suds to freely flow into your septic systems. The “P” trap is typically the area that becomes restricted and creates the description you have described and this should be cleaned via a flexible cleaning tool often called a “snake”.

Best Regards,
Mike

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
As I mentioned dealing with this issue as well as dealing with Alliance has been like beating a dead horse not once did alliance acknowledge that this is an ongoing issue with many of their customers (did anyone reach out and look at the multiple complaints and the amount of customers who not only have defective machines but have also suffered monetary damages through having unnecessary plumbing repairs to dealing with property damage- again go to “speed queen-got suds” to look at the many dissatisfied consumers. We have all bought a speed queen in good faith (at a hefty price point) and deserve to have washers that we can trust and depend on to work as expected. I have asked that they either replace defective washers or reimburse for purchase price as well damages. speed queen denies any fault and continually blames the malfunction on human error. Funny how they have come up with this “magic” rubber attachment that is supposed to fix the issue caused by “the customers “ and not a defect in their product. Never in 35 years of doing laundry have I ever had such issues. Again, sad to say that an American company is not backing their customers by doing the right thing to make us satisfied and whole. For me, the problem is not the malfunction (I get that things go wrong), the bigger issue is that Alliance through their Speed Queen product assumes no responsibility for this defect nor the damages that have been incurred because of this issue.
I will let you know if anything transpires.

Regards,

Debra

November 17, 2015, I purchased a Speed Queen washer (AWNE83) . It has had a squeak in the agitation cycle since purchase date. I have had local repairmen on multiple who can not get the problem fixed. The warranty period is coming to an end & I have made several attempt to contact Speed Queen (Alliance Laundry Systems) to see how we can get this problem fixed. No one is making contact to resolve the issue.

Alliance Laundry Systems Response • Jun 19, 2018

Dear Ms., Speed Queen has reviewed your complaint & in turn contacted *** to learn more of the noise you are hearing in the wash cycle. Our records do show that *** installed new brake pads in both July & September of 2017 and on 5/24/2018 a technician was at your home but could not hear the noise.

I have spoken with *** and stated that a call should be set up so that the brake pads installed last year can be lubricated along with a seal that could be causing the intermittent noise you are hearing.

Regarding warranty coverage the model you have purchased is covered for 5 years parts & labor expiring November 24,2020.

Best regards

Alliance Laundry Systems Response • Aug 13, 2018

Alliance technical service has been in contact with *** to discuss what type of repair was made & other possible sources & solutions for noise.

I have tried to contact the company multiple times (emails, phone calls that do not work) about the issues we have with our Washer/ Drier Combo. For the amount of money we have spent fixing this machine - We could have purchased a New Washer/ Drier Combo!

We have contacted a service rep and they have stated in the emails below that we will be getting refunded - but the email addresses do NOT work, and I cannot get ahold of anyone at the company after several failed voicemails.

we are now getting the next thing fixed on this machine next Friday and the company said they would cover the parts- but again, no one has gotten back to me. Please connect with me for any further questions and photos of receipts.

We truly believe that the washer drier that we purchased IS a lemon!

Below is the email correspondence we have made. The email address provided with the company does NOT work.
I can give you further information on this with email correspondence ECT

Alliance Laundry Systems Response • Jan 22, 2018

We are sorry to learn of the circumstances that caused you to file a complaint with the Revdex.com. Our records do indicate that the unit purchased is a residential home stack washer/dryer that is being used in a commercial application(Spa). When a residential product is installed in this type of application the warranty of the product reverts to a commercial warranty which for this product is 1 year parts and no labor coverage . (Please see attached warranty bond)Due to the higher cycle usage of an application of this nature more service can be expected.

Alliance Laundry will provide assistance with part refunds on 2 of the repairs in an effort to assist you with these repair costs. The motor control and the shock replacement. Please email the service invoices for both of these repairs to ***.

Best regards,

Mike

I live in Maryland and purchased a brand new washer (speed queen) from an appliance retailer Bray and Scarff. The machine was found to have a transmission problem within the first month of use. The retailer was willing to replace the machine for a new undamaged one, but could not do so without the authorization from speed queen. I attempted to contact speed queen to have them replace a defective machine. They refused. I purchased a new product believing as a consumer that I paid for quality rather than defective engineering. The washing machine was purchased as a new machine, not a damaged machine. I would like them to replace the machine with a new, undamaged one. The machine was not damaged by normal wear and tear. I was sold a "lemon."

Alliance Laundry Systems Response

We are certainly sorry to learn of the circumstances that caused you to contact our company. In review of our customer data base file I do see that Speed Queen customer service has informed you that the warranty is a repair, not replace the product warranty. The warranty is in place to protect consumers from premature failures not found during the final test process. The warranty bond clearly states this and was included with your new washer & is attached for your reference.

When I contacted our local distributor who sells Bray & Scarf the Speed Queen product to notify them of your complaint they informed me that they were already working with Bray & Scarf to replace it for you despite the terms of the warranty bond Speed Queen provides.

Best regards,

Mike

Alliance Laundry Systems Response

As we have noted several times the warranty is a repair warranty, not replace the product warranty regardless of the number of days, weeks or months installed.

I have again contacted the distributor who stated they were replacing the unit with Bray & Scarf & they indicated this has been completed and Bray will be in contact with you.

Best regards
