Alpha Foundation Specialists Reviews (%countItem)

I called in Alpha Foundations for a crawl space issue and a home subsidence issue. Company come out and recommended mold remediation and crawl space encapsulation. We agree to have the work done .The encapsulation was completed in approximately Feb 2019. We were told then that we would have to wait a few months for everything to dry out before jacking the house could begin. We had a crew come out in approximately June 2019 and was told to wait a couple of months more. In September 2019 the crew come to tell me what was needed to jack my house up, we needed metal beams and heavy duty jacks, also crew said I need an additional dehumidifier for the kitchen area. The crew came to do the work and explained that my support walls did not in fact have support, but they would put metal beams under the walls to make them good .and to close the gaps between the wall and ceiling in the hall and bathrooms. The crew also said I had some damaged joist but they would at their cost repair them. They also told me my floors looked good with only small areas that would need replacing. When the work was done I was told they could not jack the house as much as they would like, untill the joists and floors were replaced and to let them know when that happened and they would jack the house some more. My builders started work on my house in Jan and were horrified at the crawl space. I have a dehumidifier that is not wired up correctly and plugged into a rolled up extension lead, the duct work to the unit is not attached. The unit for the kitchen is nowhere near the kitchen. The beams are short and not under the walls that I was told needed the support, also from what can be seen they are not seated on gravel or cement but on the crawl space dirt floor. The joist repairs are short pieces of 10x2 screwed into completely rotted joists so are in actual fact doing nothing . When my laminate was pulled up in several rooms the only thing keeping us from falling through in the last year was the laminate, the floors in all but the kitchen which we have not started are rotten, contrary to what the crew told me, which I know is beyond their control but it led to false expectations on the state of my sub floor. I have spent 29 grand on my crawl space and the house is in no better shape subsidence wise then it was. I have been trying since Feb 12th to get a representative form Alpha Foundations to come and explain why my house is in no better shape then it was but I am getting the brush off with every attempt.

Our sales rep and the homeowner worked together to create a
long-range plan for crawl space encapsulation and floor stabilization, which
included a third-party contractor replacing rotten wood. Unfortunately, there
was miscommunication with the installation crews that resulted in them suggesting
the need for additional materials. On March 13, our installation crew was on site to relocate
the jacks and beam consistent with the original repair plan. One dehumidifier
was removed and refunded to the customer. A follow-up appointment is scheduled
in two months for our service tech to check the system to ensure it is working
efficiently and up to the standards of the homeowner.

Alpha Foundations completed stabilizing work on the foundation of my home that began in April 2015. They neglected to obtain a permit and inspection for this work which was included in the contract they have with me. It was included in the price of the work that was a total cost $9200 which was paid in full several months ago. I have contacted them several times via email and phone calls, they stated they would take care of it and they have not as of this writing.

We take great pride in providing excellent service to and open communication with our customers, and we regret the recent miscommunication that left you feeling less than satisfied with our company. We tried to reach you via an old phone number and email address that we had on file from 2015. Therefore, we also apologize for missing the opportunity to confirm the contact information when we spoke with you again in mid-2019.All paperwork is currently being processed by *** county, and we hope to have this resolved for you soon.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 13700199, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me when the process is completed via *** County permit office. Inspection still has to be accomplished to finalize the permit process.

The company believes in customer satisfaction. Thank you going the extra step to ensure I was happy. Dottie

I spent a lot of time researching my foundation problem. I had 5 different companies come out to give me estimates on my foundation repair. Of the 5 companies 3 gave me misleading quotes or just lied about what needed to be done.
All the people at Alpha were always pleasant and professional, working over the weekend. The job was done within 2 weeks of signing the contract. We did have to fix tile, drywall and molding but only because that is what naturally will happen when you raise a floor 3 inches.
When you get estimates be sure to call Alpha Foundations!

David *** came to our house in Saint Mary's, GA to inspect a crack in our foundation that we thought could be something serious because of the depth, width, and length of the crack across the entire slab. We had a general contractor over doing something else on our house and he recommended to us to have a foundation specialist take a look. David took slope measurements of our slab and explained to us that most homes tend to have at least a one inch variation in the slope of the floors and that our home was within one standard deviation of the mean. He showed us the slope of each room and told us the crack was nothing serious, but they could reinforce the slab with poly foam if we wanted, but did not recommend it. He recommended we fill it with simple crack sealer from Home Depot. We greatly appreciate the honesty and the professionalism David showed us. They will be the first people we call if we have foundation issues in our future homes.

Thank you for the kind review of our company! We take great pride in the peace of mind we are able to provide our customers, and we also realize that not everyone will need our products or services. Alpha Foundations was built on customer service excellence and it is still very much a core value that we instill in all our employees.

approximately 2.5 years ago I have Alph Foundation come to my home and install pylons on sides of my home. few months after the service I was told That the company never pulled a permit to do the work. It is on my contract that I have paid for the permits. For the past two years have been given the run around as to them getting my permit. I contacted them Dec. and was offered money instead of permits. I want the permit for the work that was done and paid for. I paid approximately 23000.00 for this work, I have spend more time trying to get this issue resolved then it took to do the job. I have been very patient about this issue , but I have had enough. Two years trying to get permit is unacceptable. I even talked to the guys at the home and patio show in Jacksonville, their response was well get this taken care of.

The management team at Alpha Foundations was unaware of this problem until we received the consumer complaint on May 8, 2018. Upon learning about this situation, a permit was submitted to the building department and a partial refund has been issued for time lost as requested by our customer. Further, internal controls have been established to prevent this experience and we will use this as a training opportunity for our team.

Thank You

I have spoken to Rick several times and the situation is being handled ASAP. The work that this company did for me was outstanding and the crew that came to home were great . I want to make clear that this situation is only a paperwork issue and the work was awesome

A representative from Alpha Foundations, Mr. *** inspected my house foundation problems and explained his company’s foundation repair systems assuring me that the floors in my house could be leveled and that all that would be required from me, would be the execution of Alpha’s standard contract and payment in advance of a contract amount of $9310.00. I executed Alpha’s contract on April 7, 2017. What Mr. did not disclose at any time prior to, or after execution of Apha’s contract agreement is that for the work to be accomplished I would be responsible for removing the interior floors of my house. This information was conveyed to me more than six weeks later by the construction crew which showed up to do the foundation work on May 24, 2017. Believing I was bound by the construction contract, I proceeded to move out of my house and make arrangements to remove my floors. This additional expense and inconvenience was totally unforeseen. Mr. inspected these conditions. Unfortunately, because I am confined to a wheelchair, my inability to operate said wheelchair in the soft soils surrounding the house, I could not see these limitations. In the months that have followed, Alpha’s installation of their floor leveling system I has made calls to complain of the systems failure. I also learned that Alpha did not obtain the necessary building permit for this work and that an “after the fact” permit with associated penalties would have to be acquired from the county before doing any additional or corrective warranty work on this house. Alpha was notified of this and to date has taken no steps to acquire the building permit for this work. Numerous questions arise from Alpha’s failure to secure the required building permit for this work. Was to avoid permit fees? Currently, the foundation of the house is in worse condition than it was prior to Alpha’s work. The floors are severely out of level and some exterior walls appear in danger of ultimately collapsing. On February 13, 2018 Mr. *** appeared at my house with a four man construction crew. It appeared their intention was to finally begin some work under their contract warranty. When they were advised that under no circumstances would I agree to remove the interior floors of my house a second time, they soon left. As of today, March 20, 2018, there is no indication Alpha has made any effort to acquire the required building permits for the work or for any subsequent warranty work.

The management team at Alpha Foundations was unaware of this ongoing problem until we received the consumer complaint on March 20, 2018. Upon being apprised of the situation, management representatives made multiple phone calls to the homeowner and completed a site visit to fully understand the situation. We determined that the best course of action was to issue a full refund to the homeowner. Further, no permits were necessary for this type of service, as the product installed was a supplemental support to the existing floor system. Going forward, we will use this experience as a training opportunity for our team.
