1. The Pay to Park Collections website does not look safe to use especially for financial information.
2. There is no way to contact a human via telephone about your ticket. The phone number listed is prerecorded information.
3. The ONLY way to contact the company or dispute tickets is through the website.
4. The website does not inform you of how you will be contacted about your dispute (via email, phone, or letter). It turned out to be e-mail.
5. The website does not inform you that it will use the 5 days it takes to consider your dispute against your 10 days to pay the $25 although they say you have 10 days to dispute the claim. So after the dispute you'll likely end up being charged the $75 without a grace period for the time it takes to dispute your claim.

Pay to park machine was out of order on the weekend. Still got a 25 dollar ticket. This company is trying to run off visitors from the tulsa area. There is no way that anyone of my family will ever visit again because of this company. They are disgrace to Tulsa.

I was cited for a parking violation.I requested reduction as they offered.Denied, I offered to pay out since unemployed.Denied.
I parked behind a restaurant I went to in Tulsa (around 2nd St). I saw not sign about it being private and no number was painted on parking spot.I was cited. When I went online to address it,they said I could appeal, which I did.I thought it was taken care of since I did not hear from them.Upon receiving a letter dated Sept 16,2019 I contacted them again.I requested reduction to the $25 fee. Denied, and offered to pay $25 monthly since unemployed at this time.I mailed check for first payment to PO BOX on letter and they claimed they did not receive and would not accept unless $75 paid. These fees are excessive as well.(Usury)

Desired Outcome

I would like a reduction of the fee or at least reasonable pay-out. In future,I would like if the business (Tulsa city or whatever)have more reasonable fees and obvious signage for charge.

American Auto Parks Response • Oct 07, 2019

According to our records, the fee was reduced to $25 and was paid with a check on the 27th. As far as we are concerned, this matter is considered closed.

As for the amount of the fee notice, it is the lowest compared to all other private operators as well as the city of Tulsa.

Park in park lot but I did not pay when showed I did, they said oh you paid for city parking not for are lot when kiosk was right in front of my car.
8/14/2019 notice *** $25.00
They charged for $25.00 and was only there for 15 minutes.

Desired Outcome

Resolution sought- Refund: They need better signs for location there around 10 kiosk around location how are you know if you pay at the right one, especially when it was right in front of my car.

American Auto Parks Response • Aug 21, 2019

We are sorry Mr. is upset, but each sign at all seven entrances of the lot denote the location of the 2 kiosks on the lot. If needed, we can submit photos of all signs on the lot to the Revdex.com for review.

It is the responsibility of the customer to read, understand, and follow all signage posted on the property. In Mr. case, he did not and paid the wrong meter as a consequence. Per our policy, this does not constitute a valid reason for reducing or waiving a parking fee. This is standard throughout the entirety of the parking industry, both private and municipal, and not just our company.

As such, we do not feel a refund is called for in Mr. case as there were no extenuating circumstances, or fault on our part, that contributed to him paying the wrong meter. In addition, as the signage is already adequate, we do not feel we should expend even more time and resources adding to, or changing, the signage at all entrances to the property.

paid parking on 8/2 and was charged again on 8/7 and received NSF fee of 32. was told they were charged also and would only give 7 dollars back to me.
I paid 105.00 dollars month to parking in a American parking garage. my company I work for is now able to provide parking and I gave notice in July that Aug would be my last month. I paid my 105.00 dollars for Aug on the 2nd. American parking charged me again on the 7th and I incurred a NSF fee for 32 from my bank. Showed the clerk the error and she said I have to ask my boss and would call me with an answer later on 8/7 but I did not received a call. I visited the office again 8/8 and was told I should have told them I was on billing and it was my fault. I told them you did not provide me with information when I started the auto billing. I checked the website and the only information I found was to cancel a 30 notice has to be given. I gave my 30 notice at the end of July and paid my Aug rental fee on the 2nd. office manager told me their bank charged them 25 dollar fee and that it was my fault. he said I would only be given 7 dollars back which was not given to me readily (have not received as of 8.8). Asked for corporate number or the person in charge over the office manager. I was then told I am not giving you that information and that he does not have to give the information. I then walked out of the office.

Desired Outcome

I would like American parking to refund me the 32 dollar NSF and any other fees I continue to incur until they rectify the incorrect billing.

American Auto Parks Response • Aug 21, 2019

We are sorry Mr. is upset, but it is the responsibility of the customer to authorize a shut off of ACH to their account. It also needs to be added that Mr. was threatening police action and demanding to the office staff and manager in a public place of business after the $7 difference in charges incurred to our business were offered to Mr..

Despite all that, we are still happy to offer the $7 difference in charges to Mr..

I parked in a parking lot with a blue (what I know now) parking box with a green "Pay App Parking" Sticker stuck to this box(pay to park app that the City of Tulsa uses downtown.) The green pay to park is for the City of Tulsa, the blue pay box is for this company that I am writing about. I opened my pay to park app, paid the normal $1.00 pay for an hour, went to eat then came back before my hour was up, to find a $25 ticket from American Parking Inc.

The ticket stated that I had 10 days to pay or dispute. Since I had actually paid to park and this was a total misunderstanding of which parking spot I was to park in (since the green pay to park app sticker was clearly in the same parking space.) I waited to find out how the dispute was going to go. They rudely denied it even though I provided pictures and the receipt where I actually paid the "pay to park app" showing the misunderstanding. They not only denied my dispute, when I went to pay(same day I received their first email denying) the ticket went $75

Why would it go up to $75?? Who pays a ticket before waiting for the answer on a dispute??

For the City of Tulsa to allow a company to gouge it's citizen's like this is appalling. At least put another company that has integrity in their place.

Received ticket in the mail. No idea what its talking about. 1st time receiving ticket.
I received a ticket in the mail saying that I needed to pay $75. The letter just has a ticket number, license plate and the amount. It does not say where I was when I received the ticket. I go to the website and it says that if you pay within the first 10 days, the ticket amount is only $25 but if paid after the 10 days, its $75. This is the FIRST notice I have gotten. I can't dispute it according to their website because its past the 10 days. The letter states that if I think I received it in error, to contact them immediately-I did, called 3 or 4 times, left a voice mail AND emailed them. I wasn't anywhere near the parking garage or lot or whatever it is. Im assuming it was Downtown Tulsa and I never went downtown on the day they say I did.

Desired Outcome

I want them to resolve this and realize that this ticket was in error. I feel like its a scam.

American Auto Parks Response • Jul 29, 2019

After review of the photos of the vehicle associated with the fee notice, we noticed a transcription error with one of the digits in the license plate when the fee notice was issued.

We have corrected the error, and offer our sincerest apologies. They will no longer receive any further letters or communication. Collections staff will be interviewed to ascertain the cause of the lack of response to the complainant's inquiries before filing with the Revdex.com.

Customer Response • Jul 31, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

Used customers Kiosk mutliple times and apparently it did not show my payment. Received a fine and I was treated rudely when trying to explain.
I went to Lot 156 of american parking so that I could take my wife, mother and mother - in - law to the ramen noodle restraunt across the street. I went to the kiosk in the parking lot to pay and twice it cancelled my transaction for some unknown reason, on the third try it worked. All this time my senior citizen mother and mother in law are standing in the heat waiting. I went in to eat, and when I came out there was a Fee notice on my window. I called the number on the notice and of course I could not speak with anyone. As soon as I came home I got on the web site I was told to get on to dispute this bill, and put a cordial email in explaining the situation, and was promptly told I never entered anything into their Kiosk and that my claim was denied. I then told them that it was rude to call customers liars, and that I had taken a picture of my cars tag just so I would not make a mistake just before going to the Kiosk. The person on the other end told me to send the picture. I did send the picture, along with the XIF data that shows it was within an hour of the fee notice I received. The person in the email said "Sir, this is just a picture of your car tag" - of course it was, that is what I said it was. Then she said DENIED. I called customer service, and she would barely even speak, she said there is nothing she can do (what is customer service for?) I told her, since no one will talk to me, I would have to contact the City and possibly the news to let them know that this is such a disreputable practice, and asked if there was a name of someone I could contact in managment or in their company structure that I could speak with, she said NO. I have never seen a company that sent emails and answered phone calls that would not tell you who they are. I feel that I have been called a liar and treated extremely rudely for a 1$ parking fee. They do not in any way shape or form seem to have any intention of honoring any disputes of these fees, since I tried very hard to pay the dollar, and now have to pay 25 dollars to park for less than an hour.

Desired Outcome

I would like my fee to be lowered. I would have even paid "half" of a fee if they had even contemplated that I was not trying to try and steal the parking space. Just wanted to be treated like a person, and they did not care at all.

American Auto Parks Response • Jul 29, 2019

It appears Mr. tried to pay a street meter as the only payable rate allowed by the kiosks is a $5 for 8 hours flat rate. Only street meters charge $1. That would explain why any of his vehicle or payment information never showed up in our system.

We normally do not excuse fee notices such as this for this property as the signage is clear at every entrance as to where the pay stations are in the property and it is incumbent upon the customer to fully read and understand all informational and regulatory signage posted before leaving the property. This is a requirement that is standard in all sectors of the parking industry worldwide, public and private.

As such, the fee notice stands at 25 dollars for the next 10 days.

Business failed to have proper signage for private parking lot. Business would not dismiss citation when given clear and convincing evidence.
On 07/06/2019 about 1030 hours while parked at 724 S. Main St, I received a parking ticket for my vehicle parked in the parking lot immediately adjacent to the building's north side. I entered the lot from the S. Main St. entrance which did not have any visible clear and distinct signage indicating the lot was a monthly parking lot. When I discovered the ticket, I initiated the dispute process including taking photographs of the parking signage which was visible from the entrance to the lot. The signage was obscured by trees to the point of not being visible and the wind sign was positioned so as to not be clear which lot was the monthly parking lot. I received an email on 07/08/2019 indicating my claim was denied. I provided further evidence to my claim and the response I received from the company was of no resolve. The email did not have an identifying information as to whom the person was who sent the email and did not have a way of contacting the business and speaking to a representative. The e-mail indicated the business would seek collections if the balance was not paid. I again requested dismissal of the ticket, but the business did not reply.

Desired Outcome

Dismissal of the ticket. A failure to dismiss the citation and any derogatory action taken by the business will result in civil litigation being taken.

American Auto Parks Response • Jul 18, 2019

As a courtesy, the fee will be waived. Signage has already been discussed in district court in the past. Mr. is free to research those proceedings at his own leisure.

After reading his dispute, and to address his statement above, names of personnel are not given to protect them from illegal harassment/ coercion from individuals. Experience has shown that both private individuals and public servants are not above harassing our personnel or illegally using public positions of authority in an attempt to side-step trespassing or failing to pay to use our properties, or to stalk and harass our personnel.

In addition, and like the rest of the parking industry, disputes are all handled online so a permanent record can be kept of all that goes on in a dispute. This is the direction in which both the municipal and private parking industries are moving. And as such, we do not allow any dispute whatsoever to be carried over the phone.

We feel we have addressed Mr. concerns at this point and consider the matter closed.

Customer Response • Jul 19, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

When asking how to resolve a problem losing our ticket on May 18th at 9pm, the attendant was rude and interrogating, shouting at us from th window.
The woman at the second window with the longer hair and glasses was extremely rude and interrogating my boyfriend about how he had lost the ticket. She told us she didnt care about us losing the ticket and asked us "How do you lose a ticket? Where is the ticket? You better find it." She seemed positively intent on making us uncomfortable, and when she noticed we were veterans, began to try very hard to convince us that sort of attitude was a joke. She kept mentioning the joke and saying she hoped it would make us find the ticket, but she never apologized. I work in customer service myself and I have never dreamt of speaking to a customer how she spoke to us. It was embarassing and made us both very upset, and it has convinced both of us to use a different company for parking from now on.

Desired Outcome

Desired Resolution- Contact by the Business: I would like to feel like a human being when I am trying to get home from meeting my grandmother at the airport at 9 PM. I hope that woman is spoken to and never treats anyone the way she treated us. I understand it is frustrating, but that is a part of any customer service job to be willing to kindly help people who have admitted their mistake and are ready to what needs to be done to solve it.

American Auto Parks Response • Jun 05, 2019

We apologize for the negative experience the customer had at the airport. The matter has been forwarded to the airport manager and the employee will be interviewed and appropriate action taken. The customer is free to contact us should they have any more information.

I parked in an open unmarked lot downtown Oklahoma city, mid-afternoon, no big events going on. I came back an hour later to find a man ticketing me. He admitted that there was absolutely no signs in the lot, but that the lot gates had been opened by mistake earlier that morning. I asked him to delete my ticket since he admitted fault to the situation, and he told me I had to handle it through the website. His said his name was Danielle ***. I submitted my dispute on their website. A week goes by no response. I submit it again. Over a month goes by no response until I receive a letter in the mail that my fee has been increased to $75. I contacted Customer Service, who told me they don't handle disputes and advised me to contact corporate. I called corporate offices, and was repeatedly sent to voicemail. I called the number specifically for late fees, and it sent me to a voicemail that was full, and was not excepting any more voicemails. Almost wish they would harass me so I could speak to a human being. This is borderline criminal.

Parking fees and no time to dispute!
Fee Notice #*** This was the weekend of the Tulsa Run October 27, 2018 10:08 AM. I ran the 15k run, I was there maybe 3 hours. When I parked I looked around but did not see any place to pay for parking. This is the only letter I have seen from pay to park collections that associated with American Parking, dated December 27, 2018, so there is no way to dispute in the 10 day time frame. I have call pay to park collections twice and left voicemail but have not gotten any call back. I paid the amount of $75.00 on January 22, 2019 but I don't think this right.

Desired Outcome

Due to the late date in which the letter was sent and the fact there was no noticeable payment receptacle, I think I should only have to pay the actual parking fee. I hope to the penalty fees reimbursed.

American Auto Parks Response • Jan 31, 2019

Photos of the Pay Station and signage at the entrance to the lot have been attached. They have not moved or been tampered with. The signage is very apparent. After the fee notice was printed, it was affixed to the windshield underneath the driver's side wiper blade in a bright yellow envelope. From that time, Mr. had 10 days to appeal the fee notice. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do on this matter at this point.

Customer Response • Feb 01, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There was no bright yellow envelope on car when I left the parking lot!

American Auto Parks Response • Feb 06, 2019

It is standard operating procedure to affix the fee notice in a bright yellow envelope under the driver side wiper on the front windshield. There is no reason to deviate from this process. Disciplinary action is taken if they do. No enforcement staff member has any incentive to write a fee notice and not place the notice on the vehicle. Copies of SOP's can be submitted to the Revdex.com for review to verify.

Customer Response • Feb 07, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept the business' proposed resolution because I did not receive the yellow envelope. I was not able to dispute any charges or fees within the ten day period because I did not get the yellow envelope with the details inside. I am willing to pay for the actual parking, I do not agree with any additional fees since I was not aware of the situation until it was too late to do anything about it.

I parked in a lot operated by this company on November 3, 2018, during an event and was unable to access the meter to pay.
An event, the Pub Run, was just being completed when we parked and we were unable to access the kiosk which was in the other corner of the lot. I left a note on my windshield with a phone number and email address stating that I would pay but was unable to locate/access the kiosk.
I heard nothing until I received a collection notice in the mail (5 weeks later), charging $75 for what should have been at most a $10 parking fee. I called but was treated rudely on the phone by the company rep, who went so far as to deny that there was an event or any construction at the time I parked.

Desired Outcome

I would be glad to pay a reasonable parking fee as my note stated, but $75 for 1 hour parking is ridiculous.

American Auto Parks Response • Jan 02, 2019

As a matter of standard procedure, records of all fee notices written are stored digitally along with photographs of the license plate to verify transcription accuracy when the fee notice was issued and of fee notice affixed to the driver's side of the front wind shield and the license plate. In Mr.' case, there was no photo of the fee notice affixed to the windshield or of the dash showing a note.

Since there is no evidence to support the fee notice was attached to the vehicle, and since Mr. has already paid the $75 fee, $65 of it will be credited back today to cover the initial event parking rate on the lot as a courtesy.

But the lot, as with all of our flat lot properties for the last two and a half years, utilizes a mobile app for payment to be used in lieu of a pay station. It is clearly posted on the signage located at all of the entrances of our properties that the Passport Parking app can be downloaded and used to pay along with the zone number for the lot in question. It is also posted that payment is required in advance.

There should never be any reason that payment cannot be made to store one's vehicle on our properties.

I have received a notice in the mail for a $75 parking notice that has never happened. This mail notice is the first instance of any notification for this. I have never used any parking area that you pay for. I do not know why I'm being sent this letter. I have never received a notice of this or any other until 11/09/18.

Desired Outcome

Explanation of Charges I have never used any parking area that you pay to park. I feel like this is a scam to get money from people without them knowing why they are being charged. The letter I received says that I have a parking fee dept and to rent payment immediately. States date issued September 24,2018 10:06AM Also the letter states If you feel this letter is in error, please contact this office immediately upon receipt. Otherwise, this office will assume the debt is valid, and pursue further collection efforts

$25 CITATION ISSUED 07/19/18. CITATION PAID CASH VIA RETURN ENVELOPE 09/20/18. CASH LOST/STOLEN BY VENDOR OR EMPLOYEE.
$25 PARKING CITATION ISSUED 07/19/18. CITATION PAID CASH VIA RETURN ENVELOPE 09/20/18. CASH LOST/STOLEN BY VENDOR OR EMPLOYEE. VENDOR SENT LEGAL ACTION COLLECTION THREAT FOR $75 RECEIVED VIA USPS ON 10/09/18. CONTACTED VENDOR REGARDING ORIGINAL PAYMENT OF $25 AND OFFERED TO PAY ANOTHER FEE OF $25. VENDOR DENIED OFFER AND MANDATED $50 FEE. VENDOR IS NOTORIOUS FOR WRITING CITATIONS AT PARKING LOT AND THEN SENDING COLLECTIONS AFTER CONSUMERS WITHOUT ANY PRIOR NOTICE.

Desired Outcome

REFUND OF $25 FOR OVERPAYMENT OF CITATION REQUIRED BY VENDOR SINCE VENDOR LOST INITIAL CITATION PAYMENT OF $25 MADE 07/20/18.

American Auto Parks Response • Nov 06, 2018

Unfortunately, we cannot grant the refund Mr. requests based solely on his claim that the cash he sent in the mail was stolen. We require that all claims be substantiated with some form of physical proof or objective evidence, which is entirely possible in these times should an individual pay a fee notice in a method current with these times. If there can be no traceable proof that payment was initially made, then the claim cannot be taken as stated. The statement that cash is sent through the mail and subsequently stolen is the most common excuse received for non-payment, and is considered frivolous in all sectors of the parking industry. We certainly do not condone sending cash in the mail, and promote more secure and traceable means of remuneration should a parking fee notice be issued to an individual. Instructions for making payment are printed on the fee notice in plain view as well as the consequences for non-payment, so credence cannot be given to Mr. claim that there is no notice of fee changes or collection efforts for unpaid parking fees.

No signage on the street where we parked showing that was a paid parking spot. All of the signage was advertising the parking lot in front of our vehicle on the other side of the wall in the physical parking lot. No markings on sidewalks or signage on the curbs or around the spot/area we parked in. The other vehicles next to us were ticked as well. I feel that if this is paid parking at the street level that their needs to be signage to represent that area. I tried to talk to the attendant issuing the tickets. He was rude and had no interest in helping me understand why I was issued a ticket for an area with no signs or markings. Just kept repeating that it was paid parking and he would not argue with me and to call the number at the bottom if I had a problem with it. I filed a dispute through the companies website as instructed when I called the phone number.

Company responded with: "The picture you send has the Pay Here sign pointing down at the Kiosk right in front of your vehicle. We have all new signage for this parking lot. You are not on street parking this is part of the pay to park lot. Your dispute is denied and has been closed."

The sign they are referring to is on the other side of a sidewalk as well as on the other side of a retaining wall in the physical parking lot. Nothing in the spot we parked or around us was marked indicating that these spots were paid parking.

This parking lot is brand new and located in Oklahoma City at NW 16th and Indiana Ave.

Desired Outcome

Refund I paid the $25 dollar ticket since after 10 days it goes to $75 and is sent to collections and they had no interest in talking with me further about the signage confusion. Better signage in that street parking area and refund for the parking ticket I received.

American Auto Parks Response • Jul 18, 2018

Mr. complaint about the signage will be taken into consideration and reviewed. As for the parking notice fee, it has been refunded.

Customer Response • Jul 20, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

I entered my tag number into the machine and gave the machine a dollar, at which point I was not given any proof of purchase. I then entered my credit card and followed the prompts again from the beginning, it then told me I had an hour to park in the lot but still no proof of purchase. I received a ticket on my vehicle and immediately explained this on the website and was answered via email. I was told there was no proof of my tag number being entered nor money tindered and that money cannot enter the machine without first entering a tag number. Therefore it is impossible that I could have entered my dollar without entering my tag number- which I did both. My request was denied.
Product_Or_Service: Parking

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I would like this matter to be dissolved in the form of the dismissal of this ticket.

American Auto Parks Response • Jun 05, 2018

After receiving this complaint, the OKC City Manager was contacted to inquire if there were any issues with the pay station on 6/1/18. It was reported that the pay station was functioning without error and accepting payments all day and night. Our back end system was checked to verify, and showed the manager's statement to be true. I then ran a transaction report for that day and found no transaction, cash or credit card, for the tag number of the vehicle Mr. was driving.

Every form of data and information on our end shows everything to the contrary of Mr. statement; and I am willing to provide those records to the Revdex.com for review. However, if there was an unregistered error with the pay station, I will be willing to void the citation if he shows official proof of payment from his credit card company that I can personally verify. This would be a record they will most definitely have and I would consider as proof once verified. If he cannot, then I will consider a fee reduction as an act of good faith, but not an outright void of the citation as there will still be no proof of Mr. statements.

SCAM BACKED BY THE CITY OF TULSA. I parked in what I thought was an open municipal lot downtown--lacking any signage, for 4 hours after 5 pm during a weekday when there was no public event. I didn't even find the ticket until over 24 hours later because it had been rolled up and crammed under the wiper blade--THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO FIND YOUR TICKET BECAUSE IF YOU PAY AFTER TEN DAYS IT'S $75. I drove back the following day to figure out what was going on, only to find a sign on the ground, NOT FACING THE ENTRANCE. A few days later, I received a voicemail about my fine. Although this message was not outright threatening as others have described, it was rude. Obviously, this private company is able to access municipal records so if you pay any utility bills, be prepared to be harassed. I've lived in and visited numerous downtowns, and this isn't how you revitalize a town.

I have never been treated with more disrespect than when dealing with their disputes department. I parked in one of their "$6 Daily Parking" lots, and received a ticket because I exceeded an undisclosed "8 hour parking time limit." They then tried to tell me that 8 hours is standard across the industry for daily parking lots, however, the *** Parking Center right across the street confirmed that their daily fee covers the full 24 hour day. I will not be parking with American Parking again

American Parking, "Pay to Park" downtown Tulsa has no authority under state law to issue a "Citation" of any kind.
American Parking, a/k/a "Pay to Park" operating in downtown Tulsa is issuing "citations" to individuals without any authority under state law to do so. We received a bogus "citation" on a Sunday and the Company has now employed heavy-handed tactics of harassment to collect the purported "fine" amount. I have directed the company on 2 occasions to cease and desist any further communication with me or member of my family. This is a scam and the Company is preying upon people under a false pretense of state law authority to issue parking "citations". The company needs to be investigated and these practices discontinued.

Desired Outcome

Cease and desist any further communication immediately.
