American Enterprises International, Inc Reviews (27)

We have been making standard collection calls on this account. They buyer is past due two months. We are a finance company, independent of the sales company. We agreed to finance the purchase for the buyer after verifying over the phone with the buyer on 2/21/the terms of
the financing and that they had received the merchandise. We have advised buyer that we have to continue to make phone calls if no payment arrangements are made. It is not meant to be threatening

American Enterprises is a direct sales finance company that purchases contracts in the direct sales industry. We are not related to the sales company. We have purchased many contracts from this seller, and have never had a complaint. This product does not connect to anywhere
outside the home, but is a system to alert those in the home so that they can escape the night of their fire. I am sorry that the buyer misunderstood what they purchased, which was in November of 2013. I talked to the sales company, and the salesperson on this contract is one of their more experienced people. He works full time for the fire department and sells these systems part time. I hope that this clarifies things. *** ***

Since the buyer is days past due, we do not have much choice other than to try to contact them for payment arrangements. Since they feel harassed, we will put calls on hold for one week to give them a chance to get caught up without receiving additional phone calls. Thanks

Hello -The buyer contacted us in February of 2015 to ask what their payoff was, which we gave to them as 2667.27.   Later that day they made a payment of 2000.00.   They then called again that day, and we notified them that they still owed 667.27 to pay their account...

off.    They contacted us again on 9/22/16 saying that they thought their account was paid in full, and we notified them of their new payoff amount.   We contacted the buyer recently because their account was past due.  Their payoff amount as of today is 1268.69. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.  We apologize if any of our communications were not clear, however based on the narratives on the account, everything seems in order. We do not record phone calls. Rick C**, President

Dear Mr. [redacted] -Thank you for the followup.  If one of our employees told you that your call was recorded, I apologize.  I will get to the bottom of it and make sure that if it did happen, that it does not happen again.  As far as the amount you owe to payoff your account, that payoff is available any time at your request.   When you called us on 2/9/15 for a payoff amount, we quoted you $2667.27.   You then paid us that same day the amount of $2000.   This payment advanced your next due date well into the future, which is why you then received statements showing that no payment was due, but it did not pay your account off.   You called again later the same day to check on your balance, and we informed you that you still owed $667.27 to be paid in full.    I am not sure where we went wrong in our communication, but the narratives that we entered on your account seem clear. The statement that you are responsible for the entire financed amount even if you pay off early is correct.  That amount is always due in full.  However, if you pay off early, only the interest due up to that date is owed, the rest of the interest written off.    We did not issue any false documentation.  If you want to e-mail us anything directly, please e-mail to [email protected]. Your balance as of today is $1371.76, and your payoff amount is $1268.69.  Because you seem to sincerely believe that we did not inform you properly of your payoff, we will accept $900 as a payoff if payment is made on or before October 31, 2016.  Sincerely,Rick C**, President, AEI

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Hello,In truth thr threats are still being made by this comapny and nothing has stopped at all. the bulling has not even stopped at all. I will not even accept anything at this time.
Regards,
[redacted]

We are sorry the buyer is unhappy with the purchase.  American Enterprises is a direct sales finance company with no relationship with the sales company other than we purchase their contracts from time to time.  Before a purchase, we verify the terms of the contract with the buyer, which...

in the case of Ms. [redacted], we did on April 7th at 9:28 a.m.  At that time Ms. [redacted] did not express any concerns about the purchase, and verified the terms and that she had the merchandise and answered our security question of her mother's maiden name as [redacted].    The three day cancellation period is clearly stated on the contract, and our contact with Ms. [redacted] was well after the expiration of that period of time.    We purchased the merchandise for Ms. [redacted], and we cannot get our money back unless the dealer that sold her the merchandise agrees to cancel the sale and refund us.

American Enterprises is a finance company unrelated to the sales companies that we finance.   If the sales companies make any offers to the buyers related to terms, they are included in the contract, such as an offer of 12 months same as cash, or things like that.    I would like to review the paragraph that the buyer mentions in her last response.  We verified all terms of the contract with the buyer over the phone before we agreed to purchase their equipment for them.  We have been financing the direct sales industry for over 50 years, and have never run into a contract that offered to refund all interest after the account was paid in full.   If we can get detail of the paragraph in which the buyer feels she was misled, we can review.  Thanks.

Regards,I never talked to anyone from Finance company until I had to start making payments. The woman who sold me the vacuum told me everything and went over the terms with me. They have called me 3 time in the last 60 day THREATENING me trying to get me to make a payment. The last guy was really hostile and also admitted that they don't have the back of the finance agreement on file. I am still dealing with Filter Queen as they are the root of the issue.

Mr. [redacted] got into delinquent status, apparently due to our company being unable to draft a payment from his checking account.  Mr. [redacted] has paid every other payment on time.  I am sure that there was just a misunderstanding.  Our representative called regarding the late...

payment, and it sounds like one thing or another led to a heated conversation.    Our goal is to keep our cool.  I apologize if we did not do that.

We were under the impression that the customer wanted to receive their monthly statement electronically through our "go green" program.  Since it appears that the buyer would have paid in full prior to their first due date if they would have received a statement in the mail, we will mark the...

account as paid in full.  The balance we are writing off is $80.59, which is made up of a $10 late charge, $70.56 interest charge, and $.03 that was the remaining principal balance on the account after the buyer's payment of $1857.00.

We are sorry that you are unhappy with your purchase.  We are a finance company, with no relationship with the sales company, other than that we finance their sales from time to time.   However, we have financed this product for the seller for many years, and the product has a great...

reputation in the industry.  I own the product myself.   It is our belief that your family is safer because you have the alarms. As a finance company, the best that we can do is offer to reduce your monthly payment, from $89.86, to $59.  This will not reduce what you owe in total, and will extend your account about twelve more months, but will not cost you any more interest.  In essence we are offering you twelve months of your loan interest free.  I will make the changes on your account.  If you do not want the reduced payment, please let us know.Sincerely,[redacted], President, AEI

Thank you for your response. However, your employees have lied to me. The last time they called, they said that it was recorded. So when the disput came up of whether we were misinformed or not, I asked to hear it. When I asked, the woman said that she didn't have access to it now that it would take time. It is unethical to lie to customers and to mislead them. Your employees have mislead and lied to me. I know for a fact had the amount to pay off was only less than $700, I would have paid it off them. I was told that there was no pay off amount. I was told that I was on the hook for the entire financed amount until the loan was paid off. Even if I paid it off early. That is why I never paid it in full. So someone at your company has put false documentation. Next, you never addressed the issue about the invoices that were received that all said 0.00 due. I was told to email them to someone. Can't email them to that person unless they give an email address. I would also like to address the fact that the last time your company called my wife, you have her a panic attack and I said that to the woman. Never received an apology or anything. Do you only care about the bottom line and that's money or do you have an ethics policy on how to treat your customers?Sincerely,Jamie L[redacted]Revdex.com:

Mr. [redacted] has made three double payments.  He was given erroneous information when he called for a refund.  We will gladly send him the $90 extra that he has paid on the account to date.   We will call him and let him know.  Thanks.

Review: We purchased products from [redacted] who apparently uses American Enterprises financing.

The products were purchased on Friday 10/18/13.

We exercised the right to cancel on 10/23/13 (within 3 business days of purchase contract).

The products were recovered by [redacted] on 11/8/13.

We received a phone call from American Enterprises on 12/10/13 asking why none of their billing Statements were returned or paid. We have not received a single piece of paperwork from American Enterprises. I suspect that [redacted] did not provide proper billing information aside from the fact that it appears that they also did not inform American Enterprises of the contract cancellation.

1. American Enterprises International should 100% verify loan information.

2. To my knowledge we never signed a contract with American Enterprises International.

3. We never received confirmation of any of the transactions or our respective position regarding [redacted] claims.Desired Settlement: In the future loan and customer information must be legitimate and verified.

Do not accept loans from 3rd parties w/o customer signature and verification.

Correct any negative/invalid/malicious credit score information.

Stop doing business with companies such as [redacted] who use you for harassment of assertive or dissatisfied customers.

Response:

We purchased this contract from the sales company after verifying by telephone with the buyer on 10/21 at 2:30 p.m. Buyer verified all terms including giving us a mothers maiden name of [redacted], which we ask for so that we can confirm that we verified if it is questioned at a later date. We were notified on December 12th by the dealer that this account had indeed been cancelled by the buyer, at which time we noted the account as such and removed it from our system. The dealer apologized for not notifying us earlier, as their was an error in communiation on their part. This account will not be reported to the credit bureaus. Thanks.

Review: After winning a free cooking lesson with [redacted] we were presented a product demonstration for pots and pans and were explained the purchase would include a cruise and hotel stay. The cruise and hotel stay was not what was described at the program when information was latter received. We immediately made phone calls and letters to cancel the purchase and have not accepted receipt of the products. The representatives from this company have been extremely unhelpful in resolving our concerns.Desired Settlement: Stop trying to contact us to collect funds for the products not received and not wanted - we were completely misled by this company.

Business

Response:

Because this customer did not receive their merchandise, we will cease collection efforts and delete our reporting to the credit bureaus. The customer did not communicate much with us during the collection process, which is why we were not clear on what happened.

Sincerely,

I ordered a vacuum fro kirby and finaced it through this company , first off I reread my contract and ut did not say I had to pay reguardless if my situation..... Well I was able to make my first payment and then a financial problem occurred to where I had to use all my savings plus my extra money, the nexthe t month I paid butnot on time , I told them about my troubles and if I could return the product that I bought, they told me no I couldn't and I would have to pay , I said ok. But since I couldnt afford it I got more behind and they kept trying to access my bank account with my permission to the point my bank wouldnt let me pay them offline, I had a very rude woman call me yelling and threatening me but I also had a very nice lady name [redacted] try to work with me abd I tried my best for her I communicated with thus company that I cant afford this product any longer so they told.me they would sue me but what they dont understand is that I no longer work and actually can't afford this product any longer but oh well I guess you live and learn I will never finance anything again because you never know when the unforeseen will happen

Review: Was told when we purchased this smoke alarm system that it would be connected with the fire dept within a few months and they would call it's too set it up. It's been over a year of us making payments at 24% interest, still not connected to the fire dept. Called a few months ago to ask why, and the guy told me it would be done this Spring. When I asked why he told us a few months, he hung up on me and I haven't talked to anyone since unless I call them. This is a rip off and we feel for it....This was not cheap and we fell for it, hope no one else does. I have animals and if the house would catch on fire while we are at work, no one would hear it but them. I was going to get a security system and he convinced us that the smoke detectors were not any good...Desired Settlement: Trying what we've paid and come get their smoke detectors. Will take our chance with security system

Review: On 04/10/2015 American Enterprises did willfully make a threatening phone call to me threatening me in a or else type of threat at 7:30 pm.

This is the third time this company has made an threatening phone call and they have been asked to no longer make any more phone calls.

Note The Revdex.com has not yet done anything to help out in this manor as of yet.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the Revdex.com stop all calls from American Enterprises and to have a full refund
