We're sorry to hear about the issues experienced. There does seem to be some confusion regarding the difference in the work we quoted vs. the $185 repair. The issue we found when we arrived was that the main sewer line was clogged. After the first technician attempted to clear the line, he found he...

was pulling back roots. This is fairly common, when a main sewer line clogs up there is usually a problem with the pipe itself. Objects usually don't get stuck in there, they're far more likely to get stuck in the smaller pipes leading to the large main line. So when we find roots, that means there is break in the pipe letting those roots in. Simply cutting those roots out is only a temporary solution, and depending on the extent of the damage it may not last that long. When our camera specialist came to inspect the line we found that the issue was much worse than expected. There were two sections of the pipe that still had major root infiltration and worse yet, the pipe was separating and nearing collapse. Added to this there is a major misconception is that we can just "cable" all the roots out. The cable really just punches a hole to get flow restored. Sometimes this can last as much as a year, but often times its much less as the roots will grow back. The whole time they are growing back, they are damaging the pipe. With all of this in mind, my fear is that the other company simply ran a cable again and really has done little more than we did originally, except possible get a few more roots out. Again, those will grow back. The real solution and repair is to either dig up and replace the pipe, or to use a trenchless repair system that lines the inside of the old pipe with a new, solid pipe that is stronger than the original. The later is an option most of our customer like as it doesn't disrupt their landscaping. If the pipe collapses we don't have any option except to dig up the yard and replace the pipe. This is why we gave this as an option now, while it's still a viable one. Again, I cannot know for sure what the other company did, but this exact scenario has unfortunately been all to common where customers have been convinced that they can just cable the line with no concern, only to be left with no option when the line ultimately fails and then the home owner is forced to make a rash decision if they want to get their system working again. I'm terribly sorry if this wasn't explained well from the beginning, it sounds like it clearly wasn't. I'd be happy to explain in further detail. Just call and ask for Zane Pockrandt, he's the Plumbing Manager and can help with any other concerns.

Review: I do not agree that I owe the University, I did dispute it - however, they have billed me for it, and listed it on my credit report - I decided to go ahead and pay it just to avoid an argument - they listed a 30 day late on my credit, which I disputed - and then I received another 30 day late listed on my credit, I submitted the proof of payment to the credit bureau, they said the college disagreed so they would leave it even though I submitted proof of payment. I contacted the college who were unwilling to work with me - they are listing late's on my credit, which are completely false.Desired Settlement: I want them to remove late payments from credit report, remove the account all together.

I

must advise you that American National is bound by the provisions of the

Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA) which, among other things,

prohibits the release of most educational information about a student to third

parties unless specific, written authorization is received from that

student. Unfortunately a

complaint to the RevDex.com does not constitute such authorization and accordingly the

information we can provide about the

student's educational record, including charges and adjustments to his

student account, is limited. If the student can complete the form below we will be happy to respond further. Thank you.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have attached the appropriate form, in order to get requested information. I never agreed verbally or in writing as to any type of payment arrangement. I made payments while trying to get them to do the "right" thing. I have not even attended classes there in over 8 years.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms. [redacted]’s

complaint. Her dates of attendance ranged from September of

2001 until December 2008. In December, during her final term she

withdrew after attending only a few weeks but was still responsible for the

charges for that term. You can see from the attached ledger that

she did receive a partial refund for the term and her scholarship and a small

amount of Pell. After all of those were taken into consideration she owed

$2097.83.

This account was turned over to collections in April of

2009. There was no activity on the account until September of 2013 when

Ms. [redacted] began making payments. As of June 2015 her current balance is

$579.83. Please let us know if we can provide any further information.

Regards,

Regardless of their ledger, or their account, I did not agree to their balance. Even though I did not agree, I paid payments on it anyway, however, I never agreed to a "set" amount, they have inaccurately listed against me on my credit report, and I want the lates removed. That is not accurate, and it is not honest.

Review: National College has failed to produce federal funded grants to students including myself within appropriate time frame . The staff as well as the corporate office have been giving us the run around. They have also charged me for uniforms that are not required in my field program. In addition I have just found out that they have bed bugs and they failed to alert the students.Desired Settlement: I want everyone to know how this school conducts its business as well as my account to be corrected.

In regards to the comment about Bed Bugs on Campus. Last week a few bed bugs were found in two classrooms. The rooms were closed off and serviced by our exterminator within hours of detection. This was followed by dog sniffing service call and the following business day a Portal Notice was posted to notify students of the occurance and the solution. At this point there is absolutely no evidence of Bed Bugs in our building and the college will take extra steps in working to working with our exterminator to avoid any future incidents. Review: I am a current student at American National University (ANU). I have had several problems to date. Last term it was that ANU held my my grant money until the term was almost over. There has been severe lack of communication with the internal staff and even most instructors. My current issue is that I have been dropped from a class that I know I have been present in. Their absentee system is based on whether you have logged in at least twice and completed an assignment in the class in question. I have emailed [redacted] in student services and he instructed me to email the instructor. I have not heard back from the instructor yet. This issue can cause me problems with my veterans benefits and end up costing me a lot of money and hardship. I rely on my veterans benefits in order to make ends meet. I don't like ANU cares or has any respect for me and only want my tuition check. I have way to much on my plate as a college student and the sole source of income for my wife and 2 kids.Desired Settlement: I want my class added back to my schedule. I also do NOT want the work I have missed to be counted against me. I also believe I deserve an apology letter and explanation for why I was removed from the class when I did what I needed to be marked present.

Review: I was never satisfied with my education at National Business College which is not known as American National [redacted]. Attending this college is the worst educational decision I have ever made. To anyone who reads this, please put your effort in to a more creditable institution. Attending this institution is like throwing money in the garbage disposal.

However, today I am complaining about a debt that stems as far back as 2003 with this organization. I have a loan that is currently in default. I have recently consolidated my loan into one in which check#[redacted] was sent out to this organization on May 7th according to the records of the Department of Education. However, this school has been giving me the run around that they do not have this check as of yet. I have spoke to agents at the collection agency at [redacted] and The Department of Education who are pointing their fingers at the financial department in Roanoke. I am trying desperately to get my loan out of default which is hindering me to pursue my education at [redacted] in June. However, when I speak to [redacted] the supervisor in the financial department, he has given the run around for over a month now. The organization continues to pass the buck when the check was originally sent to Roanoke, Virginia and [redacted] continues to tell me that the check was sent to [redacted]. This company has very poor service in working with clients in getting a loan out of default even after a check has been sent to them. The check was sent out on May 7th and today is May 28th. Why hasn't the check been cash and why is this company working so diligently to hinder someone from furthering their education because of their poor customer service ethics?Desired Settlement: I want a letter showing that I am no longer in default with this school so I can start my classes in June.

Currently, my loan is in default in which a check has been sent to this organization in early May. American National College continues to bounce around the truth and not assist me with this issue. This organization is not an accredited college and I strongly advise other students to run fast as they can. I have been calling this organization in trying to resolve the default with little to know help from this poor customer service orient organization.

Please let me know to pursue further action.

The University has attempted to respond to [redacted] request for additional information on several occasions. Specifically, she is requesting that we send documentation to explain why she owes a balance to the school. With the submission of the form attached to this complaint, which is what we had been requesting, we are now able to do so.

Review: This company has reported on my credit reports that I owe a debt. I have never attended this university and have asked for an itemized statement of the charges that I am being held accountable for. I have not been contacted by this company for a collection of debt. I attended national business college for one semester and it was paid for with a Stafford loan along with [redacted] university that was paid for with Financial aid. I have never attended this school.Desired Settlement: I would like for this charge to be removed from my credit reports unless I can receive a phone call or statement stating when I attended this university.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. Unfortunately, I do not have means to print this form out. However, I have been contacted by this school and I found out this was indeed National Business College and they changed their name. I have contact a lawyer to assist me in this dispute because all of my student loans should have been surrendered to the [redacted] program. Why would I have a separate loan for this school for over 1000$ when I only attended this school for not even a month. At this time I will take over this complaint myself with assistance of my Lawyer. If I need further assistance I will contact Revdex.com for assistance.

Review: I had purchased books from the online bookstore. I emailed the representative that I only needed one of the two books purchased. Later that day the books were sent, even after she responded to my request. I emailed her again regarding the shipment, that I was trying to avoid an additional shipping charge to send the one book back. So the next day, the online bookstore re-directed the shipment (tracking # [redacted]) back to them, and kept my name as the receiver of the package. I never received the package and was still charged for the shipping fee. Since this is the beginning of the term, my student account shows all of my cost for school as being due until my financial aid comes thru. But now I am unable to attend my English225 class because the bookstore did not return my money so I can purchase them locallyDesired Settlement: I want the money put back into my checking account so I can purchase by book at the local bookstore.

Dear Revdex.com;

I have spoke with the school and they agreed to have the bookstore return the cost of the books to me, so that issue is resolved. The school and I do have other issues to discuss, but that is a meeting for later date. Thank you for addressing this issue, without you it would not have been made possible.
