Review: May 2012 I ordered windows and made made a $5,106.00 deposit on them July that were to be installed October 2012. They were never installed. A call placed in December 2012 the company stated too cold and they had a manufacturing issue and the windows would be installed in the spring. We received a call from them in the Spring asking how we liked our windows but they were never installed! They called us back later the same day to say they would be installed in 3 to 5 weeks. No calls. No installation. Call placed to business two weeks ago the business said they would have a date of installing in 2 weeks. No calls have been received and no windows.Desired Settlement: Refund of Cash plus interest.

Review: American Remodeling put a new roof on our primary residence in '08 which was supposed to be lifetime warranty and lifetime shingle as per [redacted]. Since its installation, we have called American Remodeling about their inferior installation procedures numerous times (upwards of 6-7 times) due to water leakages within our home stemming from the roof. These inferior installation complaints included: not installing flashing around chimneys and improper ridge vent installation. They have returned several times and their solution was to send different personnel to merely caulk around shingles where they "thought" the problem may be. We have had subsequent damage to the interior of our home including to drywall. We had a chimney expert (from another company) properly install the flashing around our chimney at our own expense. After new roof leak issues on multiple levels of our home, and my husband going onto the roof to inspect, he noticed that there was a weak spot on the roof and could have fallen through. On June 28th, I contacted the owner, [redacted], and he personally came out to inspect the roof since we've had numerous issues. He personally went onto the roof and inspected the job and agreed that the work was substandard and deficient. He agreed to have the entire section of roof removed and replaced within a week and a half. On July 5, 2013 we noticed that a member of American Remodeling came out to our home and was "working" on the roof - again, merely slapping some caulking around the shingles instead of replacing the roof section. I called [redacted] on July 8th and had to leave him a voicemail message that his crew did not do as they were instructed. I never received a call back nor verbally committed work done. We are concerned about work not being completed and are now asking for half of our total bill refunded so that work can be done by another company. We no longer have any trust in American Remodeling. We are also considering suing the company for mold testing and abatement, if necessary, as well as for refund for half of the bill and damages to the interior of our house should American Remodeling not respond appropriately to this complaint.Desired Settlement: We need a roof that does NOT LEAK and if American Remodeling can not prove they are competent enough to perform such work (as we feel they HAVE proved) we should be refunded as per our contract of not providing a lifetime guaranteed roof.

Response:

The last time our installers were out they were told to find this issue no matter what it took. They did take enough material out to do what we discussed with [redacted]. But they found the issue in that soft spot as was described and repaired that. We'll fix what interior damage there is. We apologize for the issues they've had and will get any current problems or future problems resolved.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

The installers WERE, indeed, out as I said in my complaint. HOWEVER, they did NOT repair the soft spot on the roof, they merely caulked around more shingles. This was NOT part of our agreement. Perhaps when you send installers out to do repair work, you need to supervise what they are doing because it was OBVIOUSLY NOT done. As stated in our complaint, we are asking for half of our money back from the job so that it can be repaired properly. We do not wish for American Remodeling to come onto our property without us there. If you would like to inspect the soft spot for assurance that it was not repaired, you can make an appointment when one of us is here. If we are not refunded the money, we will sue American Remodeling for it. We have given American Remodeling MORE THAN ENOUGH time to correct the issues at hand and feel we have been MORE THAN PATIENT. We put a lifetime roof on our home to begin with because we did not want the hassles involved with replacing it again. Unfortunately, this seems all we've been doing for the past few years and now we must make additional repairs within our home. American Remodeling may want to consider how they handle this situation carefully because we feel that refunding half of the money is more than fair - it could get much worse if we sue, they would then be liable for paying for interior repairs and mold assessment, too. We merely want a roof that does not leak and are willing to compromise with American Remodeling to be able to use the refund to have another company perform the work that American Remodeling obviously cannot perform satisfactorily. American Remodeling's response in thus rejected because they did not meet our demands.

Review: Have a contract windows installed by Nov24 and 25. They even got half the money3850.They never called to change date. I called them. They called wife back next day. State they are going to put the windows in week afterThanksgiving. No call still no windows. I called talk to reception says she is going to have Robert call me. I even called Sharon the sales lady. Not having luck with windows. They don't even let me know what's going on.Desired Settlement: Phone call, work done before December 25, discount on the price. If none can be done then money back plus interest

Response:

The start date on the contract is an approximate start date as it clearly states on the contract, the homeowner even signed an additional paper that explains the start date is appoximate and to not take off any work until we contact them with an exact start date. We are currently experiencing manufacturing delays. Our manufacturer is moving into a larger facility and the transition caused some unexpected delays in manufacturing. We are receiving their windows on Friday and plan on installing them on 12/15/14 or 12/16/14. We apologize for the delay, but it's out of our control.

I am rejecting this response because: the problem is they never called to let us know it does not say approximate date they chose the date we would of went with another place if we knew all this. Yes they did call on Wednesday Robert was very rude and mean to me. In my opinion I want my money back. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They want there money but very nasty. The date was wrote on the contract before Thanksgiving. Then when I contacted them they called my wife told her week after Thanksgiving. Then that never happened they never contacted us with a reason that is not how you do business.

Response:

I'm rejecting the complaint from the customer that we lied and didn't follow the contract. We followed the contract exactly as written, as I stated before the contract has an anticipated start date on it due to unforeseen issues beyond our control. I spoke to the customer today and he stated that he is uneducated and couldn't properly read the contract, so he was unaware the date was anticipated. He was explained the contract by Sharon and then it was read out loud and confirmed by phone by Jason Larsen. He also stated he got the wrong window in the basement but its the exact window that is on the contract. [redacted] stated to Sharon when she went to the home to try to rectify this issue that he filed a complaint on the [redacted] dealership and refused to take it off the Revdex.com until he was given a discount. [redacted] uses the Revdex.com to get money off his contractual obligations. [redacted] also has been making negative slanderous remarks to his customers on his [redacted] route that may cause financial harm to us and we will be reporting this to [redacted] and will file suit against [redacted] if it continues. We are done with [redacted] and will be forwarding the contract to the Revdex.com for their review .

One I never once put in a complaint with [redacted] motor company. So they are lying there I never said I was uneducated for starters I have a high school diploma. Graduated in 1991. So they are lying there. Never once did I mention the name of company on my temporary route. Robert called me when I was out on route with an attitude. I had speaker phone on. Because of delivery he was yelling at me customer ask who that was I stated a window company. Never once did I mention name. Sharon never read me the contract or did they read it to me over phone. They never even showed us the windows or describe them to me or my family. I have several witnesses that was at house to prove that. My wife Gigi our tennant was there and my daughter. When Sharon just stopped by the other night to find out was going on she brought some lady with her friend that we don't get along with name [redacted]. Because the lady basically used our son that lived with her. There is the wrong window in basement. That we want the window replaced we did not ask for the window. I am not no window company so how would I know what windows are called. On contract it states basement BH for style DH for all other styles. I did not sign when Jason came out for measuring for I was not here I was at work. Yes the contract states anticipated date is 11/24 finished 11/25 but the problem is they never called on them dates to post pone the dates. I called them week later they never returned my call. They call my wife and told her week after Thanksgiving. That day came and went no phone call. I called them talked to reception she was upset with her company. She told me to leave message with Robert I did. She told me to call back she would not answer phone. It goes to Robert. He gave me the attitude the next day. The whole company is liars I will tell everyone I see never to use them. If I am so uneducated then how do I know how to use punctuation. Work on internet. Oh! I have my CDL with school bus endorsement hard test that you have to read and study. Yet I am uneducated. Liars! Liars! Liars! If they want to keep up the stress and all I will get a lawyer.
