I hired American Student Loan Aid to rehabilitate my loan and get me out of defaultI paid the company roughly $to negotiate a rehabilitation that was affordable to me and to bring my defaulted loan in good standingHowever, I did most of the negotiating myself with the company *** that was the debt collector collecting on my defaulted student loan*** also told me that I did not need to go through American Student Loan Aid because I could negotiate with them just as American Student Loan was supposed to - but I ended up negotiating on my behalfAmerican Student Loan Aid continued to take the pre-authorized amount from my checking account to pay for their services
Also - American Student Loan Aid told me that my Tax Refund would not be taken to offset what I owed toward my student loan, However, my taxes were taken by the IRS to put toward my student loanOnce I requested my Tax Refund back through *** Collection they told me that it would not be refunded back
