Review: I entered into a contract with American student Loan Center on 11/*/14 to consolidate my current student loans and reduce my interest rate. The loans were not able to be consolidated and therefor resulting on no change in interest rate. American Student Loan Center was unable to perform what was outlined in their contract and will not consider issuing a refund after multiple requests.

A contract based on loans that can not be consolidated should have never been sold to me, the contract leaves little recourse for the customer with third party billing schemes and indemnification clauses in the contract.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of all fees paid

Response:

To Whom It May Concern, On 11/*/14 [redacted] entered into an agreement withASLC for an alternative payment change document preparation, not a consolidation. [redacted] was seeking a way to lower his monthly payment to something moreaffordable for him at that time. The payment change request has beencompleted by ASLC, Inc. Although ASLC, Inc isn’t obligated to refund anyfees for services rendered, a full refund has been issued in the efforts ofresolving this misunderstanding. Don't work with these people. I was completely deceived since day 1. Lord help you if you end up with Simone as your customer enrollment agent. One- she kept cutting me off when I asked questions. Rude. Two- she LIED to me about how the process was going to work for me. Then when another representative cleared things up and I approached Simone about it, she became very rude and then still tried to lie about how the program would play out for me. When I told her to cancel my services with them and refund my money (oh yeah, they charge you $250 for 3 months for something you can do yourself), she said she would put in a cancellation request and the billing department would contact me about my refund. LIES. She cancelled my services, sure, but I called a week later to check on the status on my refund and turns out the billing department never got any information from her about refunding my money. Three- they are so unorganized. I had 3 different people asking me to fill out this form that I had already filled out and sent in to the company. That's unsettling since it has important information like my social security number on it.

I'm still waiting on my refund. The company said since they did their part, it's too late to get my money back. No, with your employee lying to me numerous times, I don't care what you say you've done, I cancelled my services with you and want my $501.90 back. They will be contacted everyday fom me until they grant me my request otherwise legal action will ensue.

Just don't bother with this company.

Review: I entered into an agreement with the American Student Loan Center for Student Loan Consolidation. They identified themselves as " [redacted]" They indicated that they would lower my student loan to 185 dollars per month and that the account was in the underwriting dept. When I asked which company my loan would be through they gave several answers and when questioned further they indicated that the underwriting dept would call me back. In the mean time they were collect $ 190.20 from my checking account for four payments for processing. Two of these payments have been debited and neither my current lender (Navient) nor the federal guarantor of my loan had any knowledge of my work with this company. When I contacted American Student Loan Center about his they indicated that I should not worry that Navient will try to get me to remain with them and will tell me the worst possible scenario and that I should ignore Navient calls . I did not hear back from the Underwriting Dept of this company. I believe that this company does not provide the service that they indicate they are providing. They are unable to answer pertinent questions and take prepayment for services that they do not appear to be rendering. My contact number for this company is [redacted]Desired Settlement: Investigation into American Student Loan Center regarding their misrepresentation and full refund of my money that has been paid.

[redacted] signed up for a document preparation service on 11/**/2015. She was advised on the initial call that we are a private company who helps with document preparation on federal student loans. She made two payments of $182.25. The work was completed and her file was submitted to the Department of Education to process her re-payment change into a plan she chose on 12/**/2015. On 12/**/2015 she requested a refund and filed a complaint. She has been refunded in full even though work was completed.

Sincerely,

I called this company to place my number on their Do-not-call list when I overheard another phone conversation between a representative an its caller. The caller didn't give and personal information, but the opportunity surely was there. Be careful. American Student Loan Center's lines aren't secure. They open the door for identity theft.

To whom it may concern, Andrea reached out to ASLC on 6/**/2015 needing advice regarding her federal student loans due to them being in deferment and notknowing her options. Our representative spent about an hour on the phone withAndrea going over her situation and explaining the repayment options that shequalifies for. ASLC then prepared the necessary documents to consolidate Andrea’s5 loans into one loan and a comfortable repayment plan. For the service, Andreahas paid a fee that was explained to her and that she agreed to. As a courtesy,ASLC has issued Andrea a refund. Alex M[redacted]Director

Review: On March **, 2014, I contacted American Student Loan Company to gather information on consolidating student loans. Once I gave the requested information, I read that I should not have given my Federal Student Aid pin and probably a lot of other personal information. I have changed my pin since then. This included giving them my birth date and social security number. I find myself constantly checking my personal accounts and have taken the appropriate measures in regards to protecting my identity. This conversation left me feeling that American Student Loan Company is questionable. They do have very personal information about me, which has kept me uneasy. I want to make the Revdex.com aware that American Student Loan Center practices may be questionable. I sent the company an e-mail on March **requesting that I was "not interested in your services and am requesting you delete all of my personal information from your database. I do not give you permission to use my personal information. Please reply to this e-mail to confirm." The company has not responded to that request.Desired Settlement: The only settlement I am requesting is a letter from American Student Loan Company stating my personal information will be deleted, and it WILL NOT be used for identity theft. I want this in writing with the letter head of the company that includes name, address, phone number, and a point of contact with a signature. I also demand that the actions stated in the letter actually happen -- that my personal information actually gets deleted, not be distributed to others, and will not be used for identity theft. I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General if my request is not submitted as soon as possible.

Response:

[redacted],

As per your request, your entire file has been deleted from our system, any and all personal information that you have provided has now been completely erased. When you provided the information originally, it was x'ed out for your security as soon as it was input into the system. Attached is a signed letter stating that non of your information will or has been used for the purposes of identity theft. Personal information was only collected to be able to provide you with an accurate quote regarding repayment options for your student loans and nothing else. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Review: I set up an account with this company back in December 2013 with the impression that they would help to consolidate my federal student loans. In January, they began to take payments out of my account in order to pay their $700 fee to process my consolidation and they have taken payments every month since then. In the beginning of March I was made aware by direct student loans that I did not have to pay a third party to consolidate, that I could do so on my own. Although I was made aware of this by American Student Loan Center when I setup my account, they presented the idea to me that my loans could be forgiven through their company after I pay on them for a certain time period. Hence the ONLY reason I went ahead signed up with them to consolidate, with the impression that they could help me get some of my loans forgiven in the future. Yet once again while I spoke to direct loans, they made me aware that yes my loans can be forgiven after a certain period of time but I still did not have to go through American Student Loan Center to do so, this is an across the board fact that consolidating my loans period could qualify me for loan forgiveness in the future. At this point I decided to check my credit score and credit report and I found that by using American Student Loan Center my score has dropped by 123 points since January-which is when I began making payments to them. I was livid at this point and I still am. And every negative account that shows on my credit is a student loan that American Student Loan Center was supposed to be consolidating! I contacting them 2 weeks ago and asked them to cancel my account immediately. I also asked for my money to be refunded that I have paid them for the past 2 months since services have NOT been in fact been rendered but they have hurt my credit score tremendously. They told me they would not refund my money. I made them aware that I would be reporting them to the Revdex.com. The next day or a few days after this I received a call from a woman by the name of [redacted] in the American Student Loan Center Rehabiliation Department. She expressed to me that she was going to contact someone name [redacted] in the same department and they were going to look into the accusations of negative accounts on my credit report -and see what they could do get me a refund. I informed [redacted] that I have the report printed with the 9 negative accounts each being student loans that were supposed to be consolidating through them. I offered to provide her with the report and she refused. I spoke to [redacted] 2 weeks ago on a Friday and she informed me that I would hear back from her by the latest the following Monday. Monday came and went and I heard nothing. I called her myself by that Wednesday since she left me her direct extension as well as [redacted]'s direct extension and she did not answer the phone, neither did [redacted]. I have called again 2 more times since the first call and I have left more messages and still no return call from either fo these ladies. I called again this morning and was asked my name and reason for the call. I was placed on hold for ten minutes only for the rep to return to the phone stating that [redacted] was in meetings this morning. I truly believe that this company could care less about my situation. The call I received from [redacted] was a ploy to hold me up from reporting them to the Revdex.com I believe. I also feel as though my calls are being screened and they are not contacting me or taking my calls on purpose. Noone has made any attempt to reach out to me nor have I received any notification of a refund in process or anything. This company is a true waste of time and money. When I initially opened my account with them I referred them to 3 of my friends. I have recently made each one of them aware of my current situation and they have each agreed that learning from my situation they will NEVER consolidate or do business with them. Please help me in solving this strenuous situation with this bogus company. I am a single mom of 2 and when I set up this account it put a huge strain on my finances but I sacrificed and did it anyway in hopes of getting my loans in order and building my credit so that I can purchase a house this summer. This company has taken those dreams away as I now have to wait and work to build my score back up. On top of that I really need my money back. I need all the help I can get right now financially and I have paid this money for nothing, they have tore my credit down instead of re-building it as a consolidation should.Desired Settlement: I would simply like a refund for the 2 months I have paid this company-$233.00.

I had a great experience with American student loan center. I called in to find out my options and spoke to a rep who was very professional. Took the time to explain everything and helped me process the paperwork to get approved. They were a great help!

Review: I wanted to consolidate my student loans, so I followed an ad I saw online, and the ASLC called me to assist. They said that for 3 payments of $233 (plus a $6.95 fee), they could consolidate my loans, that my loans would go into forbearance until November or December, and that after 15 years, the remainder of my loans would be forgiven (which, taking interest into account, would be over $30,000 forgiven). I called the [redacted] student loan company about the bill I received (for a payment due in October), and they said that my loans were consolidated, but they were not put into forbearance, and that my loans will not be forgiven in 15 years, but in 25 years. They also said that consolidating student loans shouldn't have cost me a dime. So, this ASLC company scammed me for over $700, when they failed to do what they promised. I went with this company because they promised to forbear my loans, and that the balance would be forgiven after 15 years. Had I known the truth, I would have gone through my lender at the time, and consolidated for free.Desired Settlement: I want my 3 payments of $233 plus $6.95 (each) refunded. These payments were made in monthly installments on July July ** ($239.95), August ** ($239.95), and September ** ($239.95), totaling $719.85.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. I still feel that they did not provide all the services I signed up for, since my loans were not in forbearance until December, but only until October, and my repayment is scheduled for 25 years, not 15. However, they are providing me with a full refund, so I wish to mark this complaint as fully resolved, and wish to take no further action with the Revdex.com or any other entities.

Sincerely,

Review: On July **, 2014, I was contacted by [redacted] of the American Student Loan Center to learn about options for consolidating student loans and income-based repayment programs for Federal Student loans. I was told that I could save over $200,000 by working with American Student Loan Center to consolidate my loans. While on the phone with [redacted] of the American Student Loan Center, I was sent and encouraged to electronically sign a document which requested my personal information including my address, phone number, social security number, employer info, total income, banking routing and account number, as well as the name, address, and telephone numbers of 3 relatives. The document I signed left me feeling that American Student Loan Center is questionable at best and a scam at worst, as they were going to charge me $699.00 to consolidate my loans. I researched and realized that I can do the same process for free online. After this conversation, I promptly called back to cancel my business with the American Student Loan Center.

On July **, 2014, I called and submitted a written request to cancel any further business with the American Student Loan Center. The email read: “I write to officially cancel the Document Preparation Service Agreement signed today, July **, 2014, between American Student Loan Center, LLC and myself, [redacted].” I requested and received written confirmation from [redacted] that, “Your Student Loan Consolidation has been cancelled.”

On August **, 2014, the American Student Loan Center submitted a loan forbearance request to [redacted] without my consent or knowledge. This means, the American Student Loan Center used my personal information from the Document Preparation Service Agreement AFTER I cancelled my business with them.

Because the American Student Loan Center has very personal information about me and has submitted a forbearance request without my consent after I cancelled all business with them, I want to make the Revdex.com aware that American Student Loan Center practices are questionable.Desired Settlement: I request that American Student Loan Center properly cancel the Document Preparation Service Agreement signed, and requested to be cancelled on, July **, 2014. I also request a letter from the American Student Loan Center stating that all my personal information will be deleted, and it WILL NOT be used for identity theft or for any other purpose. I want this letter in writing on official company letterhead that includes name, address, phone number, and a point of contact with a signature. I also demand that the actions stated in the letter actually happen -- that my personal information is permanently deleted, not be distributed to outside parties, and will not be used for identity theft. I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General if my request is not submitted as soon as possible.
