Review: In 2005 I had 30 windows replaced by AMERITECH Construction at the cost of $30,000.00. In 2013, I noticed the wall in my formal living room pealing around the window when I was watering a plant. I went outside and found 2 holes in the caulking outside the bay window. I called Ameritech to come see the 2 holes but they waited weeks before they came out. Realizing each time it rained caused more damage, I called [redacted] to come out and check out the holes and water damage to see if they could repair it. [redacted] came out and re-caulked the 2 holes and agreed the water damage was from the holes. His company doesn't repair drywall. [redacted] came by in Oct 13 and took pictures and then again on 17 Oct 13 when I was home and asked me why did I wait so long to call. The 2 high-back chairs located in front of the bay window which obscure the wall and I don't use my formal living room. He said the damage wasn't from the holes in the caulking. It was from loose mortar. I disagreed with him that the loose mortar was the cause. I asked him to send his supervisor to take a look but he never called or showed up. I left several messages in 2013 no one returned my calls.Desired Settlement: Replace the drywall and repair any interior water damage in back of the drywall.

We have been out to her home several times and the last time our technician was out he took pictures and explained to her that it was not our product that was leaking. We have done everything we possibly could on our end.

Review: Contracted to remove old storm and casement windows and install vinyl replacement windows. Not all could be done in one day. Crew insisted they could not return the next day I was available. Crew came on a day I was not available and I received a call from manager crew was on site. Crew was to leave one window off so I could inspect. Crew did so. Install regarding insulation and wrapping was not as explained by a crew member and salesman. Communicated this to manager who came and inspected but made no comments. Crew returned to correct and worked at corrections. Left mid afternoon and was assured would return at my convenience. Rained. that day and received call and was assured call from manager to schedule . 2 weeks go by and call finally received they could now return. Requested call from manager. No call. This whole process has been aggravating, frustrating, inconvenient and unnecessary. Requested copies of all documents (used or not) has been ignored.,Desired Settlement: Complete installation correctly , a price adjustment , and a letter of apology.

[redacted] <[redacted]>3:03 PM (26 minutes ago)to meTo whom it may concern, Action has been taken to resolve all outstanding issues as of 6/24/13. All terms of the agreement have been met, or exceeded. The client signed the completion certificate as of 6/24/13. The request for some type of monetary compensation has been discussed, and denied. There are no outstanding issues that would constitute a reduction in total contract Amount. This matter is closed. Thank You, [redacted] Ameritech Construction Corp. Production Manager

I am rejecting this response because:

The statement by the production manager that I signed the completion document and subsequent loan documents are correct. I however, am not satisfied with the handling with the matter. The amount of time I spent together with the aggravation and frustration in resolution are worth something. My time is as valuable as well. They may consider the issue closed and I suppose it is in the business sense. l am not satisfied nor content but I will make good my obligation.

Review: On November 17, 2012, my husband and I paid $ 1,748.00 and signed a contract to Ameritech for our patio windows to be reconstructed. The contract states that services will begin 12 weeks after the permit is recieved and end 5-7 days after. We have contacted the company several times about when the services would be started and the response was" there is a problem with the permit, but we are working on it." We then started contacting the [redacted] County Permit office to find out what the problem was. They notified us that in January there was a permit started, but it had been denied. The permit office told us that they just needed to change some things on the application and resubmit their application. If there were any problems with the permit and it was still denied, then they would have the opportuninty to go before The Board(Board meets once a month to try to resolve issues) and try to get it resolved. Up until now, there have been 3 submissions for a permit and it still sits in the denial status. In June I called and talked to [redacted] who told me that if I wanted to get my money back, I would have to pay the penalty fee. We are now toward the end of October and there has been no sign of Ameritech doing any construction on our patio. I dont have a problem with Ameritech taking a bit longer than normal to do the work because of permit issues. I do know that they contacted me twice in this entire time to let me know what is going on. The times that I recieved calls from Ameritech, were in response to my frustrations with the company. Everytime I was told the same thing. They would tell me that they just needed one more thing and they would get the permit and start work.Desired Settlement: I would like the full amount of my check sent back to me.

**. & [redacted].[redacted] signed an agreement 11/17/12 with our salesman [redacted]. [redacted] turned in all the paper work for our office to process. It was then passed on to our Installation manager, [redacted]. [redacted] files for the permits several times over the months following. Each time we were denied due to prior zoning issues with the home. Through out that time [redacted] had been communicating with [redacted].[redacted], so that she was aware of the situation. I then spoke with [redacted].[redacted] on the phone and she expressed he frustration. After our conversation I contacted [redacted] so we could find a resolution for her. The owner, [redacted] issued her a check of her entire deposit amount of $1748.00 over a week ago via mail. I called her and left a message informing her that the check is in the mail. I spoke with [redacted]. [redacted] again this morning to make sure she had received the check. [redacted]. [redacted] did confirm that she had received the check.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to assist in this matter.

Respectfully,

Review: I purchased windows from Ameritech in 2008. The high-pressure sales pitch promised everything and talked about the quality of the products and the greatness of the company. 5 yrs later I still continue to have drafts that come in through the windows. I have contacted the company about this in the past and when they looked at it they said there was no problem. When I contacted them again today they told me they could come and look at it, but would charge a service fee of $140.My complaint is that what the sales person promised has not been lived up to in the products or services that I purchased (for $17,000). I do feel that the previous employee that came out did not want to find a problem with the windows, but no one in my house can sit next to any window without a blanket on because of the draft coming through. This includes windows that do not open (large center window in the family room).Desired Settlement: Service Rep coming out to address the issue without charging a service fee.

**. [redacted] purchased his windows from us May 2, 2008. Our service expediter called **. [redacted] on 5/9/08 at 12pm to schedule a measure appointment. An Ameritech factory trained technician re-measured for the project and proceeded to order his windows 6/11/08. The windows were installed July 2nd, 2008. Two years later, **. [redacted] signed another contract with us 5/14/10 for eShield energy barrier attic insulation to be installed in his home. The eShield was installed to his satisfaction. We did not receive a call or any other kind of notification that he was having issues with his windows until 12/29/11 to schedule a service appointment. **. [redacted] claimed that the windows were leaking air and needed to be checked out. We dispatched a service technician on 1/4/12. Our technician concluded that the window seals were nice & tight. The technician did note that air was coming up from the bottom of the windows, where the sashes were not down all the way. We did not hear from the [redacted] again until 1/3/14 regarding the windows. **. [redacted] spoke with a service admin and he was informed that we would schedule a service call for the windows, but we would have to charge him a service call trip fee. We clearly explained this was due to the fact that he was outside of his (2)year service warranty, but that he did have a 40year warranty on parts. This information is included as part of his contract with Ameritech. **. [redacted] declined the service appointment and decided to make a complaint to the Revdex.com instead.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

1) Ameritech confirms that they were notified about the issue in December of 2011, over 3.5 years following installation. According to their response this would lie outside of their "2 year warranty period" yet they still came and looked briefly at the problem without any fee. Now when the same issue is still unresolved they are suddenly stating that they now have to charge me. Why the change in business practices?

2) The technician that looked at the windows did indeed state that he thought the 1 window he looked at was leaking air because it was not closed all the way. However this does not explain why every window in the house feels as if a draft is coming through them, nor why the large window in the living room that does not open also has air seeping through. Thus the symptoms point toward a defect in either the windows themselves or in the installation of the windows.

3) Every year we get an unsolicited calls from Ameritech to "see how things are going". It is a blatant attempt to generate additional work from previous customers. This year instead of just trying to get rid of the call, I told the Ameritech representative that we continued to have the same issues as before. He stated that he would relay the informaiton on to someone and they would get back in touch with me. No mention of service fees, and also no response from the company followed. Finally after about 2-3 weeks I contacted the company back to see what the status of the customer service call we had been promesed was. At that time the additional fees were mentioned to us.

Thus the excuse that it's outside of the 2 year warranty is false since they already admitted they came out 3.5 yrs after installation to look the first time without fees. The company should not solicit help through unsolicited calling if they are only planning on trying to charge a fee to come and look at a discrepency that occurred through poor workmanship or installation in the first place.

Regards,

Review: Ameritech refuses to honor the warranty of their service, although they had verbally and in writing agreed to do so numerous times over the past 2 years. Over the years, they kept me hanging, telling me they would come repair their work, but they never showed up. Now, they refuse to even take my calls or respond to me. On September 1, 2011, Ameritech and I signed a written contract that "Ameritech would install inside-out underdecking system on existing deck...Ameritech will install customer's provided ceiling fan, ceiling system includes gutter and drain spout" for the amount of $3,939." Ameritech's warranty on the contract was "a one (1) year warranty, which covers Contractor's labor to install the products." - This never was completed. The wiring for the ceiling fan was not correctly installed, and did not even last one year, including the on/off switch which did not work. All I have asked is that Ameritech repair this flaw. The fan is not usable due to their incompetent installation. On one occasion, Ameritech did come back to repair their project and made the situation worse by taking off the on/off switch to the fan and covering the open wiring with an ugly metal plate. As a result of their sloppy work, there is no on/off switch connecting the wiring to the ceiling fan. If Ameritech will not repair their unacceptable work, I will need to hire another contractor to repair their sloppy work.Desired Settlement: All I have requested is that Ameritech just repair their installation work on the now non-workable wiring, ceiling fan, or on/off switch. However, after dozens of emails and phone calls, they have refused to do so. If they will not repair their work as specified in their contract, request that they refund me a portion of the $3.939 I paid them for this job, so that I can hire another contractor to repair their installation.
