Defective equipment
Ordered a stair lift in late January. Initially, I couldn't get an installer to install the stair lift for approximately 2 weeks after the stair lift arrived at my hom . It worked for approximately 1 week then it became faulty. I've been unable to get it repaired after making multiple calls to ameriglide and the installers

Desired Outcome

I would like for the stair lift to be fixed immediately because I'm unable to go to appointments or just leave my bedroom. I feel isolated in my home

Late Delivery, Missing Parts and Manufacturing Defects

I ordered and paid for an outside elevator in July, which was not delivered until November, despite an initial promise it would be shipped in mid-September. It was advertised as "plug and play."

There were many missing parts. Because the manufacturer did not supply a parts list, the missing items were not discovered until the installer reached that stage of the installation. On three different occasions, he had to discontinue work and wait for the missing parts. This caused weeks of further delay.

Once constructed, we found a number of manufacturing defects. The elevator tower came in two sections. The top section is larger than the bottom, resulting in an uneven joint which caused a bumpy ride when the rollers passed over it. Other parts also did not fit together properly. The motor cover isn't long enough to fit over the frame. The brakes and limit switches were not working properly. The bumpy ride triggered a switch which caused the elevator to stop abruptly between floors. Fortunately, there were no people on it at the time. They would have been trapped for hours.

Ameriglide does not respond to my phone calls or emails. As another reviewer wrote, once they have your money, they are done with you.

I therefore hired an elevator specialist to see if they could get the elevator to work properly. They ground down the protrusion to even out the joint, and inserted shims to fill in gaps which were causing the elevator to wobble. They fixed several switches. I had to buy two dozen stainless screws because they were not delivered, to complete the installation. All in all, I incurred about $2400 in extra expense to fix the defects.

I purchased a *** stair lift for my mother. Now nine months later it is beeping constantly with the code power over load. I called *** and a tech came out. After replacing the battery, it still beeps and a few tries the tech talked to someone on the phone and stated it was the mother board. He still charged me $339.00 and then informed about the motherboard needing replace and a service charge to replace it. I am appalled and outage that the mother board could go in only nine months and then gauged to replace it in-which I refused to pay for the repairs, because it should all be under warranty.

is not affiliated with Ameriglide. Ameriglide has honored the 2 year parts and 5 year drive train warranty and has shipped another PCB board to the customer at the request of ***. Amerigldie has worked with *** over the phone to help the customer and diagnose the issue at hand. Ameriglide is not responsible for the labor charges sent to the customer. *** is responsible for all charges offered to the customer. Customer entered into agreement with *** and if the customer is not satisfied with the outcome they should contact *** Directly. If the customer would like to deal directly with Ameriglide and arrange for one of our technicians to come out the customer can contact us directly at ***.

We purchased an amerglide stairlift. They failed to ship the order and when I called they seem to not haveca clue as to what happened. They claimed the order was not picked. Took over 20 days to get the stairlift as my mother has cancer and can barely get up the steps. They do not care. On top of this the installer claimed he was sick and we were supposed to have the stairlift installed by today. The stairlift was delivered last Monday and it is now the 7th. The installer was supposed to be here by 3 and it is now 4:09 . He is not answering my calls or text. I just called and talked to *** the manager. All I can say is STEER CLEAR ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY GOOD LUCK!!! THEY CLAIM THEY ONLY HAVE 1 INSTALLER IN MY AREA AS THEY SIT ON THEIR A#%$ AND DO NOTHING!!!! Instead of paying gas for another installer to come from another area they have my mother and I suffer. At this point we are considering legal action. We are held hostage by these no good people!!!!!!

WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS ABOUT FIXING MY 82 MOTHER CHAIR LIFT. BEEN ALMOST 2 WEEKS. NEED IT FIXED ASAP. THEY COULD AT LEAST CALL ME BACK ANS SET UP APPOINTMENT TO COME OUT AND FIX

Purchased a stairlift chair for my mom in August 2019. Chair was installed on the 8/18 and became inoperable in October approximately 6-8 weeks after installation. Ameriglide told me they would consider repairing the equipment if it broke down within 2 weeks of installation. But because it's been 8 weeks they will not pay for the repair. I've asked the salesman to speak with someone else within his company to which he replied I'm the only manager here. I find it very difficult to understand a chair would break down with a few weeks without being defective. My mom is 91 years old with osteoarthritis and weighs less than 100 pounds.Ameriglide should at least consider looking at the equipment to at least determine if the product is defective without charging a repair cost.
Product_Or_Service: Chair lift

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Repair equipment

Customer called complaining of a grinding sound with the stair lift. Stating the unit worked but made a noise. Our technicians listened to the sound and were unable to determine the cause or severity. We then explained the warranty policy of being free from defects in material and workmanship for a 2-year period on all component parts of the lift and a 5-year period on the drive train. Exceptions of the policy being Damage resulting from improper installation or operation
Negligence, alterations, abuse or misuse of the equipment ,Fire, flood, acts of God
Torn or dirty upholstery ,Shipping damage
Parts used that are not supplied by AmeriGlide, Inc.,Batteries are warranted for a 30 day period
Labor fees for installation work or service call.
Because of two factors, one being customer signing off on installation and agreeing the product was in proper working order at time of installation and also the time that had passed after said installation it was determined that customer would be responsible for a service call. We also explained to the customer we would honor any and all parts that would need to be replaced as they fall under warranty. Also without being able to determine the cause of sound we would also be willing to replace the drive system, but that would still require a service call as the consumer was not able to install. Ameriglide will stand by its warranty and replace all components under warranty. Because of the time which has passed, and also the lift being in working order after install Ameriglide would consider this a service call.

Called "***" for a quote, found out they lost "*** " as Florida service provider. The service provider intercepted my deal and when I made the salesperson "***" aware via email complaint/concern. He divulged my emails directly to him= "*** of "*** " next thing you know I'm being bothered & threaten by this "handyman" that goes around working on commercial equipment UNLICENSED - Going up the chain to a Mr. *** who lied and said that my information was never breached and his response "seriously?" & stated that this person is allowed to work without a license on commercial lifts,etc.. this is NOT RIGHT! THIS person won't respond to my genuine concerns and seems to be ignoring me. Don't share your information with them & check out who they recommend because their ethics are poor at best!

AMG Holding Response • Aug 29, 2019

This individual is a handyman in Albany, GA. He called us for an equipment quote which we provided. He then called back asking for a residential contractor contact in FL. We provided him a contractor contact. He then called that contractor and we were not party to that conversation or their ongoing communications. We did notify the FL contractor that we had given his name as a referral to the GA handyman. The project we quoted was for a single family residence in FL and was not a commercial project. The contractor name we provided is a licensed FL contractor according to our records.

This person filing this review is not a customer of ours, and we are not obligated by any NDA or HIPAA regulation in regards to his information. He is an GA resident trying to do business in the state of FL. After his repeated insults and incoherent emails we informed him that we were no longer interested in doing business with him as he seems erratic and incompetent. His repeated harassment and abuses should be noted.

Customer Response • Aug 30, 2019

I'm a Elevator Technician (retired) from Florida. Still have business there and other Elevator Technician friends & QEI inspectors that work on projects there, as discussed with the salesperson. What does my business or where I live have to do with that?

The "contractor" that was given my complaint (without my permission) information directly - is a 2 person LLC under name of: "***" the man "***" said he wanted to give me $1,000 & use my CC License. *** also said he gets lots of work & has no license and will never get one! He also said they (Ameriglide) give him commercial work too & in many other states and cover him legally, so don't worry about it.

When I asked what was needed to be listed as a contractor or dealer - the president told me and that's when I realized that there was a double standard and let him know accordingly. That's when the threats came over the phone... & no response to my last email. I went forward with a complaint here.

They are lying when they say there wasn't any information sharing because he said the salesman "***" told him he was trying to bribe me, use my license etc.. when I reported off thought the company would care but instead they were extremely abusive to me, with a gang mentality. Ignoring me & still doing business with a Florida handyman going and working on things he's not licensed to do - he even admitted that!

Now they're so responsive... Well, I am defending myself to the point of SOMEONE LOOKING INTO THIS FOR SAFETY & LEGAL REASONS!

So Ameriglide doesn't keep your phone complaints, conversations, and emails private & say they don't have to (as per: their response stated above)... BUYER'S BEWARE!

Also, considering the sincere and genuine report-off I was trying to do righteously- showed me that sometimes people just don't have the same ethical standards. FYI, I haven't shared the emails from the president of the company as he admitted to NEGLIGENCE & said his company dosen't share info... Today his story changed!
*** WEIRD! ***
It shouldn't be so hard to do the right thing. So, want to call off the people that work for you because they've been harassing me..

In closing all I can say is "THANK YOU" to the Revdex.com for caring about people & their lives, unlike this wild west bully company Ameriglide.

My advice go elsewhere for Good business ethics and standards. ALWAYS ASK FOR QUALIFICATIONS BEFORE ALLOWING ANYONE TO WORK ON SUCH IMPORTANT EQUIPMENT.

My parents purchased the stair lift on 4/26. Still waiting for remote control service that was supposed to be included - senior citizens
My parents - who are in their late 80s purchased the stair lift on 4/26. The remotes (though on receipt) were not received with the lift. We called them - they apologized and sent out remotes. Those were received appx. 1.5 weeks later. The remotes didn't work. So then we and my parents got linked with tech support. The tech support guy said "they sent the wrong remotes". They sent new ones, but the new ones required installation - as the receivers were different. All of this took about 1 month.

Here we are 7/29 - still no service guy has contact them to come and replace - we just keep getting the runaround. So, I am hoping this gets us somewhere.

Since both parents need the stair lift and they don't go up and down at the same time - we are just waiting and not hoping for an accident.

I've never been so frustrated!!

Desired Outcome

Just finish the job - it's ridiculous that no one comes out and installs the right remote receivers and makes sure they can bring the chair down / or up with the other needs to use it.

is with drawing complaint as parts had already arrived, installed and lift is working properly. She did not know this took place.

Failure to Deliver Product as Advertised and Contracted
Purchase of *** Full Platform Vehicle Lift via internet on 7/1/2019. AmeriGlide advertised the product as "Quick Ship", and defined this as shipping within 3 days of order. However, seller sent email on 7/5/2019 that order had been "processed", and shipping would occur within 5 business days from PA. Contacted seller's customer service staff on 7/15/2019 to inquire about order status. *** stated he would have to research further, promised call back within 30 minutes. Over 4 hours later, I once again contacted customer service, and *** stated he hadn't heard back from the manufacturer (***), thus the reason he hadn't called back. I explained his lack of urgency researching the matter was unacceptable, as was taking over $2,300 of my money and not providing the product in the time promised. I asked to speak to his supervisor, and was transferred to another line which stated the party was on the phone, and proceeded to leave a message.
I later contacted *** customer service, and upon research, informed that NO ORDER EXISTED WITH ***! The email received from Ameriglide stating the product would be shipped from PA indicated that the order may have been placed with the former shipping facility for ***. *** acquired *** in November 2018, and began shipping the *** product line from a facility in Florida beginning 6/1/2019.

The seller, Ameriglide, is in breach of contract, and is liable to buyer for loss of use. In addition, seller's negligence and failure to provide the vehicle lift as contracted prevents buyer from transporting medically necessary power wheelchair and/or mobility scooter, thereby restricting activities of buyer during delay.

Desired Outcome

Ameriglide is in breach of contract, and must either 1) Provide a 10% discount on the purchase for buyer's loss of use, or 2) Provide additional parts and/or optinoal accessories of equivalent value.

AMG Holding Response • Jul 30, 2019

Consumer has been contacted and issue resolved.

Customer Response • Aug 01, 2019

While the product has now been shipped, the issue is far from resolved. Ameriglide's failure to provide the product in the contracted time frame represents a breach of contract. Additionally, Ameriglide was unable to provide installation of the product as originally contracted and paid, representing an additional breach of contract.

Ameriglide is liable for the content of it's online media and subsequent contracts resulting from this content. Ameriglide's acceptance of payment for the contract binds the company to the terms - "3 Day Quick Ship" and "Professional Installation - Continental US $149.99.

The lift is being delivered today, exactly 31 days after it was ordered and paid for in full. Ameriglide has refunded the install fee, stating they have no way to install the product due to the *** acquisition. However, installation is available on similar *** lifts at a much higher price - $500.00. It's quite clear that Ameriglide simply does not wish to make good on the install due their own negligence with respect to the price contracted.

Based on the above facts, Ameriglide owes the consumer a minimum of $350.01 for the failure to provide professional installation. In addition, Ameriglide owes the consumer a refund for failing to provide the product in the time frame contracted. This refund should amount to no less than 5% of the purchase price, or $110.60.

AMG Holding Response • Aug 08, 2019

When a company that we buy products from sells a division to another company everything changes. Pricing as well as standard features all change. This order was placed jus such a time. The original order was cancelled and all funds returned. Consumer did Work with one of our employees ***, who worked it out to get consumer a battery pack $293 value. He honored the price on the swing away arm we actually lost $92. The new order was shipped out in 3 business days. Consumer did write a very nice email thanking our employee for doing such a good job.

Great sales team, but when they get your money its over. I am a General contractor and Electrical contractor it TN., I purchased an outdoor elevator for a customer and all seemed to be going fine I told them it was a rush order to make a deadline, the response was if you pay in full when you order we will make it happen and pay for install. I wanted to install myself and they told me that that would not work that if I installed the elevator it would not be warranted, later they told me this was not true. I paid the full amount of the elevator, plus the 4700.00 install fee and all was set. I received a delivery date and was told it would be installed within a week of delivery, great if it would have happened that way.
The elevator shows up 2 weeks after promised date after many many calls to the salesman, and this is where it really gets good. I was told the install manager would be it touch to get it installed but never heard from him until I got the salesman to give me a contact number, so after a week goes by and I get in touch with him he gives me an install date of 2 weeks later, I am on a deadline. The day before the install date I call to make sure we are still on for the install and he does not know who I am. I call my salesman again and get a new install date and talk to the install manager again, now it gets even better. He tells me that I will have to supply him with labor and tools to get the job completed and that he will cover the cost, I'm on a deadline so lets get it completed.
Install manager shows up we get the elevator installed to make a long story short and I ask who to give a invoice to for time labor and tools and he told me to give it to the homeowners, I do have all of this documented. So after paying 4700.00 for install Ameriglide sends one man out to oversee install and I'm screwed, but I see the install manager is not going to do what he said so I call my salesman again. The salesman told me he would put me in touch with the President of the company [ *** ]. And I get a text from *** saying he would send me 500.00 to compensate me what a joke then he said he would up it to 1000.00, witch was 1/2 of my invoice and I told him I would not agree to that and I would give him a bad review. So after 3 weeks of not hearing from *** I texted him back for a status update and he told me that he would still give me 1000.00 but if he did I would have to sign a agreement not to leave a bad review. Now remember has a invoice from me that he is refusing to pay and again this is all documented. I told him I would not sign and my invoice stands, and his response was to be carful what I posted as a review because he would have his attorneys look into it.
So bottom line I got threaded with attorneys, paid 4700.00 for install that I did 80% of and did not get compensated for and it was not delivered or install on the promised date, and I still have an outstanding invoice with they, and I don't think it will be paid unless I take action against them

AMG Holding Response • Jun 27, 2019

The information provided above is far from what actually happened. He said she said is a loser for both parties involved. Legitimate concerns will be addressed.

Customer Response • Jun 28, 2019

Like I said in my review I have documentation of all I said and posted, and there is still an open invoice that has not been paid. He said she said is a cop out. I do believe an unpaid invoice is a legitimate concern.

My Church received had a chairlift installed on 6/7 The chairlift stopped working on 6/9. No one has serviced the chair or returned it
My church *** purchased a chairlift on 5/27. It was delivered on 6/3. The installer did not come to install the chair until 6/7 despite being told the chair had arrived. And he would be there once it arrived. He refused to come saying the delivery was incomplete. He only agreed to come when I took pictures of the contents of the box. Then he still took a few days.
The chair was installed on 6/7. It stopped functioning on 6/9. I called the installer and he said he would be on site that week to service the chair. Repeated calls into the week occurred in which he either did not return or did not answer. On the occasion he did answer, he condescendingly told me to be patient and informed me he would be on location either Thursday 6/13 or Friday 6/14. Neither day did he show up. I called the manufacturer who only referred me to the installation department who then intern said they would insure the installer (Paul is his name) would come out. He never did. I called the manufacturer again. And he informed me that the chair was working when the installer left. Implying that he does not have to rush as it must have been user error. It has now been 9 days since the dysfunction of the chair and we have had Service. We are still under warranty and have paid $4600 for a chair that is not working. We have had 2 Sunday services so far with no working chairlift. Our seniors still have to struggle up the stairs with a brand new chairlift sitting there.

Desired Outcome

We would like a full refund of the amount paid for the chair. So we can purchase through another vendor. Or at the very least someone must come out to the site to repair the chair immediately.

AMG Holding Response • Jun 19, 2019

This information was passed on to Delstal the installation company used. They sent out a tech and replaced a fuse that had blown. Unit is fully operational.

Purchased a Lift Chair in Dec 2018. Chair delivered Jan 2019. AmeriGlide would not replace the chair. Service Tech -Chair cannot be repaired.
Pride LIft Chair Serial #*** purchased Dec 2018 for $1000.00 including tax. Chair cannot be repaired according to Service Tech. AmeriGlide will not stand by the Product and the warranty is for one year.

Desired Outcome

Want the chair same model replaced.

AMG Holding Response • Apr 25, 2019

The lift chair purchased came with 1 year manufactures in home warranty service. She call the manufacture for service they repaired her chair. Consumer has since called again 4/23 a different tech has gone to the home for evaluation for repair.

Nice showroom, which was unexpected for a stair lift store. The staff was helpful and really seemed to understand how important this was for my mother-in-law and family. We will probably be back for something else.

AMG Holding Response • Feb 04, 2019

Thanks Mr ***, we pride ourselves in a beautiful showroom with lots of products to choose from. We carry all the products to help keep a senior in their home. We look forward to helping you with other products when needed.

We have always thought the Revdex.com was a place to file complaints as it appears most do by the reviews I have read here. I came to the Revdex.com today to file a complaint on a plumbing company and when I saw the Revdex.com now has ratings I started thinking I should leave a nice rating for Ameriglide as they have changed my life. We have purchased a vertical platform lift, scooter, and stair lift from Ameriglide and we gave nothing but rave comments for their prices, knowledge, and support. Great company, great equipment, and their support is outstanding.

AMG Holding Response • Dec 31, 2018

thank you for the compliment, We look forward to providing you other products.

Hope you have a great New Year!

Sales reps were nice and the Raleigh store had a lot of lift chairs. It looked like more recliners than most furniture stores have. The store was very impressive and *** was very helpful over the phone and when we decided to go to the store.

AMG Holding Response • Nov 28, 2018

appreciate your comments, we do have over 35 lift chair recliners on the display floor. Small to Tall we have lift recliners for all. Shared your review with

Thanks again

Purchased a brand new chair lift for stairs. Hasn't worked correctly since it was installed.
Chair lift has never worked properly. Installer had issues when he installed it. Thought he had it fixed. 2 days later lift dead again. Installer returned and changed batteries. 2 days later dead again. Have repeatedly called company for over 3 weeks and keep getting run around about having a technician come and diagnose/ fix/ replace unit. This has been installed for my mother in law to get upstairs and hasn't been able to do so. Unit installed 2 months ago

Desired Outcome

Repair or replace unit

AMG Holding Response • Nov 28, 2018

is not the consumer, we had to contact him to find out who the real end consumer is.

Stair lifts are a piece of equipment and this one has an unheard of problem. The head tec will be sending out a new chassis as soon as the consumer returns the authorization. This was sent 11/27/18

The new chassis should eliminate the issue.

Customer Response • Dec 15, 2018

This situation has not not been resolved in any way. The chair lift still is not working and never has since installed.

AMG Holding Response • Dec 26, 2018

Warranty service is handled by the manufacturer. The tech they sent needed additional parts, which where sent to repair the chair.

Buyer Beware:
Ameriglide Inc. is very responsive on the sales end but once they have your money it's a different story. Purchased the Horizon chair lift on Nov 07, 2018 ($2,744 with installation), equipment arrived on Nov 13, 2018 installer came on Nov 14, 2018 and discovered the wrong parts were sent then left the job because it couldn't be completed (boxes still on the floor). Subsequent (numerous) calls and e-mails to Ameriglide Inc. about the status of the correct parts shipment have to date been unanswered. There is no customer service department, even the sales associate's manager is non-responsive. It appears that once materials are shipped and received your on your own (good luck). A fraud investigation has been initiated by my bank.

I called Ameriglide because my stair lift will not work. I called numerous times and was transferred many times to employees who did not help me.
I ordered a stair lift from AmeriGlide on 8/30/18 and it was installed on 9/25/18.It stopped working when my electric went off on 11/16/18. It is a *** Stair Lift. The order number is ***, and the approval code is ***. The item is #***. My customer # is ***, salesperson ***, total cost w/ standard installation was $2,423, which was paid on the phone by credit card. After the electric came back on, I tried to use the stair lift, and it would not work, it was dead.
I called AmeriGlide on 11/20/18, when the first customer service agent transferred me to the second one, who then transferred me to a third agent. The third agent transferred me to *** of PA, phone number 724***, they said I had the wrong number and to call *** at ***, which makes absolutely no sense. Then, I called back *** of PA and the greeting message said the company was Air Force Recruiting, which does not make sense because I called the same number that was ***. After all of this confusion, I gave up and called the Revdex.com.

Desired Outcome

The stair lift is under warranty, and I need it repaired as soon as possible for health reasons. However, I cannot reach anyone from Ameriglide who is able to give me any answers to my questions. They keep transferring me to phone numbers of businesses that have nothing to do with stair lifts.

AMG Holding Response • Dec 03, 2018

We are not sure who customer was calling we have no way to transfer a call to a company we do not due any business with. however she did call 11/23 and working with her handyman was able to correct the issue

Customer Response • Dec 06, 2018

Ameriglide called me and they admitted they sent me a sued starlift and I paid for a new one. They said they would refund me 150.00 which is ridiculous. Who would purdchase a used one versus a new one for the difference of only 150.00.They did not send me the money. The life is working but it has a sreachy sound when I use it. It soulds like the lever is rusty. I will never deal with this company again.

When thje ;lift was received, the box said " refurbished". I called the company and they said they always stamp the boxes refurbished> Who is going to believe a stupid thing like that.

AMG Holding Response • Dec 13, 2018

We contacted *** on 12/4. On the call, we confirmed and showed that she paid for and received a factory refurbished labeled model. While listed a factory refurbished model, any functional problems of the lift would not result from being "New" or "Refurbish" labeled as we ship all product operating to factory specification. The central difference between the two are a different warranty. We did not agree to refund $150 because we did not provide a lift different than what was ordered. ***, however, agreed to have us:
Credit $50 to her credit card that was paid to her handyman
At no charge, increase her warranty from the 3 year of the refurbish labeled model to the 5 year warranty of the new labeled model.

On 12/11 we spoke again confirming the details from the conversation on 12/4. We are sending her the email confirming the details. After *** has her computer repaired, she agreed check the email for the communication and also check her bank statement to confirm the $50 credit.

We are also, at no charge, having a technician dispatched to her home to lubricate the seat handle, make any adjustments needed to correct any noise and answer any questions about the lift operation.

Ameriglide Customer Service

I purchased an Ameriglide stair lift in May of 2018. the chair was installed in September and worked for a week.
After the stair lift was installed on September 7, 2018 it worked for a week. We immediately contacted Ameriglide and they suggested that we use a handyman to fix their product. After many phone calls and complaints they sent me a new motherboard which I had to install myself. I had my son install the motherboard and it still does not work. I paid $9000.00 for this lift and I have to try and fix it. I keep getting the run around from this company. I am very disabled with a bad back and it takes a lot out of me to climb stairs. I feel like they took my money and now its my problem that their product does not work. I would never recommend this company to anyone!

Desired Outcome

I want them to replace my stair lift because obviously the one I have is faulty. And do not expect to have to pay for it!

AMG Holding Response • Oct 18, 2018

The customer did not give enough time to take action after the replacement circuit did not solve the problem. A tech was dispatched to his home repaired a faulty wire and fine tuned the unit.

He was 100% satisfied before tech left.

Customer Response • Oct 19, 2018

Ameriglide did finally respond for my request to repair my stair lift. It is now working properly and I am satisfied.
