Ms. [redacted] called us a hot water tank. We sent out a
technician to check out the problem she had with the tank. It was an old
electric tank. There was no brand name sticker on the tank. When the tech was
looking at the tank he had noticed that someone had already been working on the
tank...

before he got there. The service tech got all the information that was on
the tank and brought it back to the office. Our service tech could not use just
any part to put on the tank. The parts we carry some are $110 others are $240
for the part alone just depending on the type of tank and the brand of the
tank. If he was to use the wrong part it could have caused a fire. What the
service tech told her that it would be better if she got a new tank because the
tank looked to be 15 or 20 years old. Not that we would not have fixed it. Just
to make sure we put the right part in it we were going to go back out but she
said no.  Our service call charge was a
$128. This is the minimum charge. We would have come back out but we had to
make sure we had the right part so we feel that she was treated fair. I am sure
we are not the only company who charges a service call.
Thank you,
Roy H[redacted]

Dear Revdex.com:Thank you for trying to settle my issue! I just got scammed! However, there are several false statements that I would like to address: 1. My son has not seen my sidewalk. 2. My grandson-in-law (who cuts my grass), and my great-nephew (who brought me a meal), were standing in the middle of the porch, getting ready to leave. There is no way they could see the sidewalk. Furthermore, they did not say the sidewalk looked nice! 3. My sidewalk does indeed have grass—on each side! 4. Water resides on my sidewalk! My sidewalk is the worse one on the street! Everyone that has come over (family, friends, etc.) says that it is terrible! All of those individuals can’t be wrong! As far as Mr. [redacted] is concerned, I have a right to walk on my sidewalk, and am in the physical condition to do so! Yet, because of the terrible job he did, I do not have that luxury. Yes, I am 86 years old; but, I have 20/20 vision! If this is the best job that Mr. [redacted] can provide, I hate to see the worse one! I look forward to the resolution of this matter, and encourage you to contact me, should you need further information.

I want to say yes to the offer, thank you so much for helping me get this resolved! But what if I say yes and they never reimburse me for the 73.00? Will you still be there to make sure I get the money back?Thank you,[redacted]

I did not say their were 2 plumbers in the family, I don't know where you got that from. The fill valve was not nor never was the problem in my Mother's toilet, it was the flapper and my brother-in-law fixed that. My Mother needed her toilet fixed and she didn't think to ask within the family. She called A Buckeye Rooter in good faith that they would do a good job at a fair price. The service person that came out first said his name was Roy H[redacted] and then changed it to Roy H[redacted], and this man wouldn't have been old enough to have been in the business for 30 years unless he got into it when he was 10 years old. First of all in the Yellow Pages your ad says when someone calls they will always speak to a plumber, that's not true neither, they talk to a receptionist. The ad also says the service person will tell you the charge before they do the work, if my Mother would have known it was going to be $215.65 she would have never had your company fix her toilet in the first place. Plus your ad says you give senior citizen discounts, it was never offered to my Mother.I am not a plumber myself, I'm just a home owner, but just here recently I replaced a fill valve in my toilet at my house, I purchased the part from [redacted] and it cost me just over $7 for the part, but I do know companies do mark prices of parts up, so your marked up price for the part was probably $15.65, but $200 for labor is unheard of especially since the service man was only on the job for less than 15 minutes. I have a friend who has been in the plumbing business for 35+ years, I'm going to ask him to give my Mother an estimate of what the company he works for would charge to do what your company did, plus what it would cost to actually do what was needed (a flapper). When I talked to him on the phone he said she could have got a brand new toilet installed for that price. So now I will just have him go to my Mother's house and give her a written estimate of what his company would charge. And according to what you said in your response that it cost your company for gas and mileage, My Mother's house (according to Google Maps) is just 2/10ths of a mile from 35 Dolby Drive. If your service person gets 10 miles to the gallon of gas, that might have cost maybe $1 for gas, but highly unlikely that it would have even cost that. I do understand that companies do have to pay for other things, but charging someone $215.65 to do a job that other companies probably would only have charged maybe $100 if that, to me and everyone that we've talked to says that was way too much and I'm sure the news media would say the same. I really believe your company took advantage of an elderly person and over charged her. You didn't tell her before doing the job what it was going to cost and I'm 100% sure if she had known she wouldn't have had your company do the work. It is false advertising when you say one thing in an advertisement and do another and just about everything you claim in your ads. aren't true.

7.21.16 Revdex.com received notification from consumer that the company resolved the matter.

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find the resolution is partially satisfactory to me. Yes, the faucet is not dripping. It was dripping at one time. Oddly. Of course, like a tooth that stops hurting when you go to the dentist, our faucet stopped dripping. I am thankful though. What he said about the coupon and the other comments about Delaware County and the  people working in the office is all not true. That was NOT MENTIONED AT THE TIME OF THE WORK DONE. Nor was it mentioned on the coupon! There is only one phone number in the phone book. Maybe I thought I heard "Martha" when she said Melissa, or she did not want to give me her real name. Whatever the case may be, THEY DID NOT RETURN MY CALLS.

I am rejecting this response because: the brand is listed on my tank. The tank may be older but a knowledgeable professional like the one I hired after would have caught the problem and repaired it immediately. In the same amount of time it took for their so called technician to tell me all was lost and to get a new tank, the other service was able to diagnose and fix my problem in minutes of entering my home.  If their employee was skilled as they say he should have been able to fix it as well and I shouldn't have had to call a second service.

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find the resolution is satisfactory to me. I replaced the black rubber shield after removing it from old sink. Total time approximately 5 minutes. I was present the entire time the workman was here and available for his question, if asked. This is the worst experience of customer service I have ever experienced had you instructed me on my first call how to install it myself this never would have drug out over 6 weeks with multiple promises to come to come to my home and multiple no return calls. Customer service will be rated as the worst and no recommendation on Neighborhood web site that goes to 22 affluent  neighborhoods, only the saga of my experience.

To whom it may concern,Mr. [redacted] did contact us for a service call so we sent out a technician. He does not have a cleanout so by the time he used multiple machines to get the drain open and completed the job it took nearly 3 1/2 hours to get it draining. During the processes of opening...

the drain it messed up one of our cables that cost over $200.00. We did recommend that he have a clean out installed to get the drain open properly. Our office tried to contact Mr. [redacted] to give him a free estimate for installing a clean out however he still has never returned our calls. Prior to Mr. [redacted] contacting you he also placed a stop payment on his check that he wrote. We have tried to be in contact with him for this however he is not responding. I am not sure if he is aware but once you sign a check if you stop payment after you have received services that is considered check fraud. If Mr. [redacted] does not contact us soon in regards to payment we will have to make a police report for check fraud. As far as any job is concern. No matter what kind of job you do when you are paid hourly and working you get paid from start to finish. Our technicans are paid the same from the time they leave the office until the job is complete that is how they are paid. We do NOT pay by percentage like some of the other companies. Thank you,Roy
