Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/06/16) */
Good day [redacted],
You had selected the 7 day free trial subscription offer on May 23/14. Unfortunately, you did not cancel the account as per the terms of the offer you selected until June 15/15. When you contacted our agent, she...

cancelled the account for you and provided a courtesy refund for the May and April $33 charges. Our posted refund policy states we will refund if you are not satisfied within 50 days of purchase and your other charges exceed this time frame.
We do not monitor usage in the account. The subscription allows access to documents at any time if needed. When you selected the 7 day free trial, the offer screen explains that there will be a $33 monthly charge if not cancelled and that information is stated again on the credit card page before you complete any license selection. As soon as you complete a license selection and click the Start Subscription button, you are immediately taken to the receipt page where the cancellation steps and date and time to cancel by appear right on the receipt. There is a large, green print button on the receipt page so you can print and review the terms of the offer you selected with reminder date to cancel. Within moments, we email you with a confirmation of your license details and the date and time to cancel by are bolded on that email. On the first day of billing, we also send you an email. Your bank statement would also display the monthly charges with the LawDepot descriptor.
Since we had no previous cancellation and you clicked on a subscription offer with terms displayed, no further refund is forthcoming. We have refunded the maximum two month courtesy refund.
Regards,

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/02/10) */
Thank you for your comments. For the email address you provided, our records show that you selected a one time Basic license for $24.50 when you created your Living Trust. This is indeed a one time charge only and there is no subscription...

or membership at all. There is nothing to cancel as you do not have a membership. The email that we sent you minutes after your purchase confirms your Basic purchase and does not mention anything about a membership or subscription. You have access to Living Trust documents until February 18/16 which was also stated in the email. If you used a different email address to create an account, please let me know so I can check that for you. A name and and last 4 digit credit card search has matched to just the one account with the Basic license.
When you select a license, you can choose from 3 different options; 1) Basic 2) one year or 3) 7 day free trial offer. Each license is explained and summarized on the credit card and receipt page. We also send you an email minutes after you make a selection recapping the details of the offer.
Once again, with the details you have provided, there is no membership or ongoing billing.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 7, 2016/02/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I accepted because they listed it with you. Prior to this everything they said was true but after I did everything they mentioned above they started sending me e-mails saying I had a membership which they have not and do not acknowledge after what they wrote above. It was their messages saying I had a membership and showing the membership fees which I never ordered or accepted in the beginning. That is the problem that I could not resolve with them until your intervention for which I thank you as always..[redacted]

I Googled promissory notes because a former roommate owed me over $5000 and I found lawdepot.com. It was easy to use and I had to sign up for a trial membership, which I did. I completely forgot to cancel my membership, which I completely own up to, and I realized on a weekend. Therefore, I had to wait until the weekday to call them. Well, I saw that there was an online chat and used that service. I was basically told that I was irresponsible and I should've cancelled when it was time to cancel. So, too bad. I won't be getting a refund. I was LIVID.
I then messaged them and told them about my unhappiness about this and I got another message back saying that it's my fault and I should've cancelled within the given time. It was a MISTAKE! I can't afford to be charged for things I won't be using and things that are useless to me! I don't understand WHY they can't refund me as a courtesy. Another site that I forgot to cancel my membership with immediately refunded me, no questions asked. It was also a site that dealt with law documents. I don't know why they can and this site won't.
I looked through their policy and on the Revdex.com page, it specifically says this:
Refund and Exchange Policy
If you are not satisfied and you request a refund within 50 days of purchase, LawDepot will refund that purchase. Contact customer support at 1-855-231-8424, Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm ET.
It's been less than 50 days, much less. So, according to this policy, why can't I get refunded? I am angry and I will NEVER recommend this [redacted] site. [redacted] who can't refund me $33. $33 that I need more than they do. [redacted].

This website is nothing but a trick. It leads you to think after you spend all your time and energy creating this document that you will be able to print it for free, but they don't tell you that you still have to enter your credit card information until the end. They may not end up charging you but this is a [redacted] to lure you to complete it and then forget to cancel in the 7 days. I don't just go around giving out my credit card information especially if I think its going to be free. I wish I would have checked out the reviews before I wasted my time. [redacted]

Good afternoon Mr. [redacted],
I received your concerns regarding your billing and inability to reach us from the Revdex.com today. I apologize if you experienced any issues.
I would like to assist you further but the email...

address you have provided does not link to an account with LawDepot.com. Can you clarify what email address you may have used to set up the account? If you have no recollection coming to our website, please provide the last four digits only of the credit card and the name that appears on the credit card so I can find the account and billing. If you are not comfortable emailing that information to me, you can call me on my toll free phone number which is below.
Our team does an outstanding job answering our inbound calls and we answer the vast majority of calls within 60 seconds. However, on a busy day like Monday, we may have pockets of time where the wait time can increase. Over 90% of our calls are answered within 3 minutes or less. We are open 8am to 7pm ET Monday to Friday. We provide the option for customers to leave a message during regular hours as well as after hours. If a customer provides us with contact information such as a phone number or email address we will respond to the customer very quickly.
I would be happy to assist you once we find the account associated with the charges. I will look forward to your reply.

Thank you for your comments. You had originally selected the 7 day free trial offer on November 18th and did not cancel until January 5/16. As per the terms of the offer you selected, the billing would start if not cancelled within 7...

days. We actually waited 2 weeks before billing on December 5/15. As a courtesy, we will refund this charge. Please note that the refund does take 3-5 business days to fully process. We will review the call with the agent for any possible coaching opportunities.

Thank you for your inquiry.
Your account is cancelled and there are no charges at all. You started the 7 day free trial on February 23/16 and cancelled it the same day.
You may have misunderstood the email response that our agent...

sent to your inquiry yesterday. As she stated, there are no charges.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 6, 2016/02/24) */
Sirs; I received an email from the company stating that there would be no charge. I am satisfied if this is the case. Thank you,

Good afternoon,
Thank you for your feedback. I apologize if you feel we have not provided enough information regarding our 7 day trial offer.
To clarify, our trial offer is free for a one week period. During that time, you can...

create, download and print as many documents as you need. You can cancel at any time and there is no obligation. You simply need to cancel the subscription by requesting the cancellation under Your Account, or accessing live chat or phone and we'll cancel it for you within the seven day window.
We do have you enter your credit card information for uninterrupted access to your documents. There are no charges to the card if the trial offer is cancelled within the seven day trial period. There is also no pre-authorization to the card.
If you select the 7 day free trial, we send you an email confirmation immediately and the cancellation steps appear in the email as well as the date and time to cancel by. Your receipt also contains the same information. We also send an email on the first day of billing should that occur.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. I appreciate your feedback and we'll continue to work on our web site to improve all areas of service.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/03/20) */
Good day,
I have refunded a total of $95.88 this morning. The refund does take 3-5 business days to fully process back to your credit card.
You had selected the yearly license option which stated: 1 Year Pro license, $7.99 per...

month, prepaid for one year. This license offers over 60% savings however, as it states, it is prepaid for the year at $95.88. We also presented the one time Basic license which is probably the license selection you were interested in. That license has a one time charge of $35.00 for the document you selected. Our document pricing is between $10.00 and $35.00.
If you still need to print or edit the document, I have extended a two week courtesy license until April 3/15. You can print, edit and save the document as many times as needed until that date.
Please let me know if you need further assistance. Our customer support team would be pleased to assist you at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX, Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm ET. They could have refunded this for you early this morning.

Good day,
You had selected a seven day free trial on April 16/15 and the trial offer expired on April 23/15. We do not have a thirty day free trial offer. You cancelled the account two days after the 7 day free trial offer ended on...

April 25/15. We issued a courtesy refund for $33.00 on April 27/15 after you had cancelled and contacted us. We also sent you the cancellation email and refund email.
Please let us know if you need further assistance. You can call our customer support team at 1-855-231-8424, Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm ET. They can easily handle any inquiries of this nature.

Ms. [redacted],
As we discussed when you called us on August 26/16, our records do show that a residential lease was created on March 2/15 and the email address used to establish the account matches your email address. The lease itself does contain your name and address information....

There was no cancellation on file until you called us on August 26/16. We cancelled the account and at that time, issued the maximum number of courtesy refunds possible (March to August 2016 $198.00). No further refunds will be issued. We also had an eviction notice prepared in 2006 in the same account which also has your name appearing as the landlord. You may want to check to see if anyone else has access to your credit card such as a spouse or other family member or friend.

Make no mistake about what you're getting with this service. This site supplies forms..... and that's it. When I used the chat to ask questions, the response was that they are not attorneys, and could not give legal advice. My questions related to whether I should use the NC form or the FL form since I live in Florida and wanted to give power of attorney to my sister who lives in N.C. I was told to use the form for the state where it would be needed and that's all the advice they could give me.

I needed a Will, and a few other documents. The site was easy to use, I paid the amount owed and all is done from the comfort of my home. The $60+ I spent was well worth it. You couldn't get anything of that value from working with a law firm directly. Thanks for bringing legal responsibility to the masses for a reasonable price. [redacted]

I don't know what people don't understand about this business model. All I see in the complaints areas here and else where are is bhing about how it's not really free and/or how they started getting charged after the trial period ended. Be an adult and take responsibility for your actions. It is free...for seven days, during which you can get all the free documents you want. After that cancel your membership or be charged. If putting in your CC information scares you then move along, but I signed up yesterday and haven't been charged yet, so the document I pulled off the site yesterday was indeed free.

From what I can see so far, this site can be a valuable resource for those who need some well written documents at a good price. As I write this, I can get a year's worth of access for about $75 CDN (if I prepay for the year), which is about an hour's worth of time from a lawyer. Good deal in my books. I have two small businesses and need an NDA, a partnership agreement, incorporation papers, business documents, as well as personal stuff like a will (which I've been putting off forever) and others. I'm going to get my money's worth in the next year for sure.

This starts out saying "free forms". U think u are going to fill out forms for free. When you finish, it is ONLY free if you cancel within one week. Heaven only knows if/when you would get your money returned. I quit at this point after hours of filling out forms that I cannot access or get a copy of.
Reality is they are expecting to charge you almost $40 PER MONTH for use of a few vague forms - that you will probably use only on one or a few occasions!
The Revdex.com logo, in reality, is not for my local Revdex.com - but for an unknown something in one city in Canada.
BUYER BEWARE!

Good morning [redacted],
Thank you for your feedback. I apologize if you felt our customer support representative was firm about not refunding your $33.00 charge. I was aware of your comments due to your [redacted] posting.
You had...

selected the subscription option with the 7 day free trial on April 15/14 and it expired on April 22/14. Unfortunately, you did not cancel as per the terms of the offer within the specified time frame until you called us May 1/14 to advise us to cancel. At that time, you requested the refund which was declined by our CSR.
You mentioned "fine print" in your comments. I spoke to the representative you spoke with and she was very clear to walk you through the wording of the offer you selected and she did not reference fine print because our offer details are all in regular size font. When you select the license option, the print is the same size and clearly indicates: "Renews at $33/month after free trial ends. Cancel anytime - no obligations.". The credit card page also contains the following information, also in the same size font: "You can cancel online anytime during your 1 week free trial and you will not be charged."
After you complete that page, we sent an email within minutes that stated :
Thank you for signing up to the trial subscription with LawDepot. Before you begin, let's remember that you now have the opportunity to download, save, edit, and print all your legal documents.
Find your document today ->
Once your free LawDepot trial is complete, we'll conveniently renew your plan. The Subscription automatically renews on Apr 22 2014 4:16PM ET, for $33 per month.
You can always change your subscription renewal options or cancel your trial subscription before it renews. Just login to your LawDepot account to edit your subscription.

Question, or concern? Visit our Help Center, or reach us by phone at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX.
All the information that you need to understand your selection is clearly displayed as you select your license, enter credit card information and complete your transaction. As the offer states, if it is not cancelled, it does convert to the monthly plan until cancelled. You did have the one charge for $33.00 occur on April 22/14.
You mentioned that you spoke with two individuals and one was rude and one mentioned fine print. Our phone records show you called twice and actually spoke with the same person both times. I spoke with the agent after your [redacted] posting and she remembered detailing the offer information and explaining what you had selected. On the second call, she firmly declined the refund request and if she came across as rude, we certainly apologize.
As a one time gesture of good faith, I have refunded the $33.00 charge for you. The refund does take up to 5 business days to fully process back to [redacted]

Good afternoon [redacted],
Thank you for your feedback. I apologize if you feel we have not provided enough information regarding our 7 day free trial and the need to enter credit card information.
To clarify, you have selected the 7...

day free trial and as long as you cancel by May 6/14, there are no charges for any documents you prepare. To cancel, sign into your account and from the My Account page, click on the Subscription tab and select the Cancel Subscription button OR you can call us at our toll free number and we can cancel it for you.
You do enter credit card information for uninterrupted access to your documents. There are no charges to the card if the trial offer is cancelled with the 7 day time frame.
Customer feedback that we receive and site navigation analysis by our marketing team shows that customers want to see the document and question template first as they are most often in need of a document quickly. The pricing options are shown after the customer has selected their document and this is a common online practice by many companies. I know that you are not comfortable with that response but our marketing team monitors this area very closely.
I have forwarded your comments to Marketing. Changes are made based on customer feedback as well as overall page by page navigation analysis on our website.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. I appreciate your feedback and we'll continue to work to improve all aspects of service.
Please remember to cancel your 7 day free trial before May 6/14.

Thank you for your feedback. When you search for a document, we present the document question template immediately for you to complete.
At the end of that process, you are presented with three license options in order to print your...

document. The three license choices are: 1) yearly, the offer says 1 Year Pro License, $7.99 per month prepaid for one year 2) Basic which gives you two week access to the one document type for a one time cost. Our documents range in price from $10 to $35. After two weeks, access automatically expires and 3) One week free trial which allows you to prepare, edit and print as many different documents as you need. If you cancel within one week, there are no charges. To cancel, you can type the word "Cancel" in the search box and you'll see the link to the cancellation page or you can call us during regular business hours to cancel for you.
These options are presented to you so you can select what best suits your needs. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to speak to our agents at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX. Our marketing department is copied on all Revdex.com marketing comments.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/08) */
Thank you for your comments.
Our records show that you had selected the 7 day free trial subscription offer on July 1/15 when you completed the quitclaim deed. At the time of selecting that offer, it does state that the account will...

be be billed $33/month if the account is not cancelled within 7 days. The credit card page also provides the same information as well as the receipt on the next page. We sent you an email moments after you selected the trial offer on July 1/15 and that email does state in bold lettering that the account needs to be cancelled within the 7 days and the date and time to cancel by appear in that sentence. We also sent you an email on July 10th letting you know you had a subscription. These emails are archived in your account under Help/Email Us.
There was no cancellation on file until October 7th. As a courtesy, I have refunded the September 9th charge. The refund does take 3-5 business days to process back to the credit card.
If you have further questions, please contact our customer support team at 1-855-231-8424, Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm ET.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/03/11) */
Good afternoon,
Thank you for your comments.
Our records show that you had selected the subscription option with the 7 day free trial on February 9/15. The account was not cancelled as per the terms of the offer until one month...

later on March 9/15. You had requested the refund when you contacted us by ticket/email after we had closed the evening before, and we replied at 5:30am MT the following day. The account was cancelled and the refund was issued. The email also stated the refund does take 3-5 business days to process.
On February 9/15, moments after you selected the subscription option with the 7 day free trial, we sent an email confirming the offer you selected and the date and time to cancel by appears in that email. Your receipt also shows the same information. We sent another email on February 17/15. We then replied to your ticket/email on March 10/15 and yesterday, you sent us a Feedback email and our agent replied to that acknowledging the details of the account and that the refund was approved and processing.
You mentioned you had not received some of the emails. Browsers can sometimes divert emails to spam or junk folders depending on the rules you have selected for screening email. We go to great lengths to ensure our email subject lines are free of words that trigger spam to ensure you receive our communications to you.
If you need further assistance, please contact me directly.
