Revdex.com of Wisconsin July RE: Aurora Health Care complaint [redacted] Revdex.com personnel, [redacted] has been contacted and though we provided an exp***tion for the billing of her visit she didn't agree with the information providedHer primary complaint is the unscheduled visit resulted in a larger charge than she expected and she thought if she had a scheduled appointment it would have a lesser cost It was explained to [redacted] that she was only billed for an office visit as expected and that would've been the same even if her appointment was scheduledAll office visits fall into a range of level one through five; level one visits generally require minimal decision making from the provider and are very brief and general whereas level five visits generally require more complex decision making, are longer in length and more in-depth [redacted] was billed at a level four and a review by our professional coding staff confirmed that was the correct level of service for her visitThe entire $billed balance was assessed to her deductible by her insurance though a small discount was also appliedWith regards to the prescription she waited for, our records indicate it was called into Walgreen's shortly after 9AM on May so it is unknown why it wouldn't have been available later that same day [redacted] was offered a payment plan where she can split the balance into monthly payments and pay over time but declined that offerDespite sharing the results of our reviews she remained unsatisfied with the balance her insurance says she is responsible forShe is aware that if the balance remains unpaid she will risk placement with a third party collection agency but says she will allow that course of action

Revdex.com of WisconsinSeptember 2016RE: Aurora Health Care complaint [redacted] Revdex.com personnel,This complaint has several complex factors but we believe this matter has been addressed.David and his son have the same first and last names with [redacted] designation separating them [redacted] ** filed the complaint and is not an Aurora patient [redacted] **is an Aurora patient with an Aurora billing account but his account contained pertinent information for [redacted] **Due to this information, [redacted] **says his credit has been negatively effected and believes Aurora is both responsible for the error and correcting itIf an account has an unpaid balance, it will go through our standard process which ultimately includes placement with a third party collection agency if necessaryWhile it is accurate that [redacted] **.'s credit was impacted it must be stated that Aurora merely utilized the information on file provided by [redacted] **.To ensure this matter is resolved, we have notified the external collection agency to update their records accordinglyThe collection agency will also notify the credit bureau to remove the charges in question from [redacted] **.'s credit report and send him a letter for his own records. We have contacted [redacted] **and given this same information to himUnfortunately however, despite these efforts he was not convinced that this matter will be resolved [redacted] **says he has made several efforts including coming to an Aurora office in person to address this matter and thus he remains skepticalIn that regard it must be respectfully stated that patients share a responsibility to ensure accurate billing and as such, [redacted] **has regrettably provided little assistance with this matter. We have record of a signed document from [redacted] **verifying the information initially provided was accurateWhen Aurora was contacted by [redacted] **to dispute the information on his credit report, several attempts were made to contact [redacted] **but no return contact was receivedBy his own admission, [redacted] **contacted Aurora more than [redacted] **though he had no definitive reason why.Having provided this detail explanation there is no further action that [redacted] **needs to take at this timeHe will soon receive the written confirmation from the collection agency referenced earlier that he is again welcome to keep for his recordsWe only ask that he allow time for the credit bureau information to be updatedPlease accept this response as our confirmation that his complaint has been successfully resolved

Revdex.com of WisconsinJuly 2016RE: Aurora Health Care complaint [redacted] Revdex.com, We have contacted James regarding his complaint and believe this matter has been addressed. As stated in his complaint, James had a balance he was making incremental payments on and that balance was placed with a third party collection agencyHe was under the impression that sending payment on the balance would prevent collections from happening but regrettably, he was mistaken. In our billing system, once a patient has a balance it will be billed to them for a minimum of four consecutive monthsAfter the first bill statement, all following statements will include a message that the account is past due and encourage the patient to either pay the balance in full or contact us to establish a payment planThe bill statement message is Aurora's way of notifying patients of the possibility of collections and after four months, any remaining balance after any payments received will be placed with an external agency.James understood the explanation given to him to but was disappointed that the account will remain in collectionsHe acknowledged getting monthly bill statements but didn't think setting up a payment plan was necessaryJames has also been in contact with the collection agency regarding arrangements but remained concerned that he may not be able to pay off the balance before his credit is impacted; something neither he nor Aurora can confirm at this time. Please accept this response as we respectfully ask for this complaint to be closed

Revdex.com of WisconsinSeptember 2015RE: Aurora Health Care complaint [redacted] Revdex.com personnel,We are aware that [redacted] has rejected our reply to his concern and he also disputes the validity of information he was previously told.To further clarify, When [redacted] came to Aurora on July 1, that visit resulted in two separate charges; one for the doctor and one for the facility he went toIt is very common for each charge to be billed at different intervals due to the claims being processed at different times by a patient's insurance. The above scenario is what occurred with ***; he was initially billed $for the doctor's charge for his visit and as previously explained, that amount was written off as a one-time courtesyThe facility charge for the visit has not been billed yet but a call to his insurance confirmed his financial responsibility for that charge will be $which is again the amount he expected to payOnce again we stress the fact that [redacted] was not lied to or mislead and there was no error in how the visit was billed in general.Having explained the courtesy write off given and with ***'s acknowledgement of a $responsibility in the original complaint we again respectfully consider this matter to be resolved and ask the Revdex.com to close this complaintThere is no further action needed other than for [redacted] to wait for the $bill and then make payment

Revdex.com of WisconsinRE: Aurora Health Care complaint [redacted] November Revdex.com personnel, Christofer filed this complaint in dispute of charges billed to him and his wife KathrynHe says both visits are paid in full by his insurance without any expense to him.We have completed reviews for both visits and have an update; our review revealed an error in the original billing for Kathryn's visitThat error has since been corrected and her account now has a $balance dueThere is no further action needed from Christofer or Kathryn regarding her account. As stated, Christofer's account was also reviewed and it was determined that the charges billed to him are accurateDuring an annual preventative exam, any discussion of topics outside the guidelines established by the American Medical Association for a preventative visit can result in additional chargesFrom the record of Christofer's visit itself it is clear that additional discussion did take place so the additional office visit charged to him is applicable and will remain. An attempt has been made to reach Christofer and provide this information to himHe is welcome to contact our office at his convenience should he have follow up questionsPlease accept this reply to his complaint s a good faith effort to address his concern

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I have now spoken to Jamal (sp?), a representative of Aurora In outline, these are their (conflicting) positions On the one hand, they acknowledge that the person I originally spoke to over the phone when I called to inquiry about whether Aurora takes/accepts Network insurance should not have given me a positive answer, and they should have instead referred me to my insurance for this question On the other hand, they defend the answer given by this person in the original conversation because, they say that it is true that Aurora does accept or take all insurances The tension of course is that if was not misinformed or misled by the answer to my question, then there is no sense in which the person should not have answered in the affirmative The other position is that, after all, they don't know what exactly that person told me, that is, whether they did answer "yes" to my questions about whether Aurora accepts Network insurance or not The problem with this position is that Aurora actually *defends [redacted] this response even in the hypothetical, that is, whether or not it is true that the person I spoke to said what I claim they said, *if [redacted] they said that, "yes, Aurora accepts Network insurance", there would be nothing wrong with this answer because Aurora DOES accept all insurances In other words, Jamal, and the person I spoke to before, [redacted] (sp?, both representatives of Aurora, insist in their defending this kind of answer when anyone calls Aurora asking whether they take or accept a given insurance Aurora seems to stand by this sort of approach to customer serviceJamal reminded me that I signed a legally binding document when I visited the physician, which states, roughly, that I am responsible for whatever costs my insurance does not cover And this is true that I signed this document But I did so based on my understanding that Aurora was contracted with Network insurance Aurora claims that this should not have been my understanding It appears that Aurora wants me to believe that when patients call asking whether Aurora accepts their insurance, they might quite plausibly not understand this question to be identical to the question of whether Aurora is in the network or contracted with their insurance Since this is a public forum, I will leave it to others to draw their own inferences about Aurora's customer service policies Regards, [redacted] ***
