[redacted], [redacted], manager at Assent, Inc., called me and emailed that Assent, Inc. will issue a refund of $625 to me, I find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Complaint

Assent claims to be a direct lender, so when they say your qualified for a loan they fund it themselves. I explained to them the reason for the loan was to pay off a tax lien from the State of California and I asked it that was a problem and was told they paid tax liens off all the time and it was...

no problem. I went through the process with a person calling herself [redacted] a Mortgage Banker, she ran credit check, collected all the necessary paperwork and told me all I needed to do to get the loan was pay for a certified home appraisal. I was told the loan would fund on April 17th . They even called the Board of Equalization and told them it was going to be paid off. Two days before the loan was to go through, I was told I needed to get the State of California to release the lien before they would fund the loan, this was a total reversal of everything I was told. I told [redacted] I needed all of this in writing to make sure there was no misunderstandings, she told me she was going to work on it. They have not sent me anything,, they do not return phone calls. They are just ignoring me and their obligation to follow through on what they started. At this point all communication ceased when I insisted on written communications.







Desired Resolution
I believe they should fund the loan and pay off the tax lien as promised, if they can not do it, then I what full disclosure of what happened and by whom and just where does my so called mortgage banker [redacted] fits into the process the only fair solution would be for them to:
1) Fund the...

loan as promised if not then
2) Written communications from [redacted] who claims to be a mortgage banker explaining why she misrepresented the loan approval to get me to pay for the home appraisals.
3) If loan is not funded I want both home appraisal fees refunded ($1000.00)
4) Written explanation why loan is rejected and by whom
5) Stop advertising they are a direct lender if they are not lending the money.
