THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER. I wish I would have read all the reviews all over the internet about these people. I CANNOT STRESS enough to never use this company for ANYTHING. The entire company is a joke. I pay 800.00 a year FOR NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even get a statement or an email from a supervisor what is covered and what is not. Which NOTHING IS COVERED by their standards. I will be getting new insurance for my home ASAP. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR HOME, YOUR BELONGINGS, OR YOUR LIFE.

I filed an insurance claim for my damaged phone on Wednesday during business hours. I paid the deductible and waited the suggested 24 hours for the claim to be processed. After the 24 hour period, I went to the website to get a tracking number, only to find that it still had not been processed. I called and spoke to an operator and was told that it is still in review and should be processed within 24 to 48 hours from the present day. I reviewed the advertised waiting period and the operator continued to tell me that she did not know why it was not processed. I asked to speak to someone who could explain it to me. "Somehow" the call was dropped. I waited to calm down before calling back and asked to speak to a supervisor, who repeated the same thing as the previous operator. This supervisor still could not tell me WHY my claim was not processed and told me to write a letter if I was not satisfied.
I AM STARTING HERE!!!! I use my phone for business purposes and every day without one is costing me a full days wages. I AM LIVID!!!!!

My wife used assurant rental insurance had a plugged drain out side of our garage call them sent over adjuster he claimed in our policy we were covered for water damage do to it 100 percent. A week later received a letter form them saying wind damage is not covered when I called I was told that the water came in through the wood and the concrete so it would NOT be covered I then asked how he could determine that from Florida by pictures then asked what pictures dI'd he see never seen the ones I sent of the drain or the hole in the side of the garage mind you its a appartments so there are 6 garages together we were in the middle looking at getting a lawyer. Assurant sucks would never have them canceling my phone insurance tomorrow. Stay far away!!!!!!

I did an phone upgrade through Tmobile's Jump program. I traded an iPhone 5s for an iPhone 6. The iPhone 5s I sent to Assurant was in perfect condition, and I made sure to erase all the information, and turn the "find my iPhone" feature off as indicated on the rules provided by Assurant. I sent the iPhone in the plastic mailing package provided by Assurant. In order to prevent any damages to the phone, I put the iPhone 5s inside the original iPhone box, then I put it inside the bag mailing package provided by Assurant. At the post office, I tried to purchase extra insurance, just in case the phone would get lost or damaged, but the post office representative told me that wasn't possible. The only way for me to add insurance to the package would be to use a totally different package and disregard the one provided by Assurant. I didn't want to spend extra money on shipping, thus I sent the item in the package provided. A few weeks after the shipment, I received (12/11/14) a text message from Assurant asking me to contact them about my trade-in. I called and they told me my phone had a blank screen and "find my iPhone" feature was on. Because of that, I would have to pay the remaining balance on the iPhone 5s or pay $175 fee for a broken phone claim. This is an absurd, as I said above, the phone was in perfect condition, and I turned the "find my iPhone" feature off. I'm not sure if this is a recurrent practice done by Assurant, but I consider it to be a SCAM. I know the phone was working fine, with no damages to the screen. I also know the "find my iPhone" feature was off. Just to make sure, I logged in to my iCloud account to verify if the iPhone 5s was listed as my device. the phone wasn't there anymore, which means, the "find my iPhone" feature was definitely off on the iPhone 5s. I contacted tmobile to open a claim through them, and explained everything to the representative. She told me she would take care of everything, and I wouldn't have to pay anything out of my pocket to solve this situation. I will wait a few weeks to see if this problem gets solved, and if I get my refund back from the transaction. Please, to all of you scammed by Assurant, let's not remain in silent. We need to speak out loud to stop things like this from happening again. Assurant is a powerful company, and the only way to stop this malpractice is to get enough voices, and call the authorities' attention.

I have insurance with them through AT&T, and both times I submitted a claim, it ended up being an extremely negative experience. The first time I thought they sent me a temporary phone but were repairing my original phone, and I waited a while and then contacted them about it, only to find that the new phone was a replacement. It came with dead pixels and they wouldn't do anything to fix it because the 30 day period (which they told me was listed in the contract but it absolutely isn't) had passed. The second time they sent me a check for a replacement phone which didn't cover the cost to replace my phone through Samsung or AT&T, and after arguing with them about it, I got nowhere.
Seriously, don't go through these people. They're trash garbage.

I report my phone unusable since 6/17 it is now 7/2 and they told me I will have to wait another 4-6 business days I use my phone for business purposes and this might have caused my a huge promotion that I've been working... I'm uncontactable and almost everyone at work needs to contact me. I am very upset and unsatisfied. I feel as if I'm being treated as a criminal and I'm the one protecting my property from damage and criminals. Very very very very disappointed.

This company is a complete trash. They should send your new phone in 48 hours but I filed a claim on a Wednesday and on Friday they are saying I will receive my phone maybe for next Tuesday. That means 1 week for them to send me a phone! Their response is that they are not require to send you any notification by email or call you to the phone number you provide where they can contact you. I am require to check over the internet and/or call to check the claim status. [redacted] and [redacted] (supervisor) gave me this explanation! Not worth the money we are paying. This phone is under a business name, I use it to work not for fun.

Stay away from them.
I wish I would read the reviews before. I had a service plan for my dishwasher for over 10 years (my contract was transferred from another company). When my dishwasher broke and the technician said it cannot be fixed, I was given 3 different reasons why it is not the company responsibility to pay.
When I asked to cancel my other appliances service I was told that I have to send a letter (not even an email). You can join over the phone

Every person I spoke to on the phone regarding my claim was rude even the managers and it took them two weeks to solve my claim leaving me without a phone with three kids for two weeks thank god I didn't have an emergency. It's not like I don't pay them monthly for there service.

Such a bad bad bad super bad insurance. I had paid $175 for a phone and they send me a damaged one. Now they want me to paid $175 more to get another phone. Are you kidding me?

Assurant is a joke of a company, the phone protection I purchased through T-Mobile has done nothing but give me run around with its redundant process. I file my claim online and receive an email stating I need to complete a Proof of Loss form, I click on link to complete form and see that it is the exact same form I used to file the original claim. Proof of loss form is filled out again and receive yet another email stating the same thing, I must complete the Proof of Loss form again I complete the same form for the 4th time and email customer service because of the delay of replacing my phone only to have my email answered over two days later stating there was a discrepency. I respond asking what the discrepency was and this time I do not receive a response. I get a voicemail from [redacted] telling me to call and let them know if the phone is lost or stolen so I call and get asked if I want to proceed with tthe claim, I would not have filed a claim if I didn't want to proceed with the claim, so I can only assume their business practice is to make the process repetitive and redundant that I will give up and just buy a new phone instead of getting it replaced under the protection plan I pay for with my phone service. Now after all that I have to wait even longer because there is a 24 hour review process on top of all the other delays I have had thus far. Assurant should not be allowed to monopolize the phone carriers protection plans service and have been nothing but problematic since this claim process started well over a week ago.

When I first started my service with T-Mobile, I got mobile insurance feature along with it because it was expensive device. After losing of my device, I filed the claim, and I was told in the first place that it will take up to 2-3 business day. When that 2-3 business day is up, I call to follow up, and they said, they need additional 5-10 business day, without a reason to justify why they need such a long time to process my claim. You would thought that after that additional 5-10 business day, my claim is taken care, but the end result is, I had no phone to use for 30 days, and my claim was not approve after waiting for more than 30 days. On top of that, I was given no explanation as to why my claim was denied. I paid this feature for 3 months, and when I need them there to help me, they are not there to help me out.

Recently I decided to give it another try, and it seems like the same case. That's why I decided to write this review, so people don't fall for this kind of bad business.

I have filed an Affidavit of Truth, Obligation, Dispute, Protest and Intent to Litigate that includes a Demand in nature of Quo Warranto with Assurant Employee Benefits / Union Insurance Company also DBA as Assurant Inc. When this is done a point for point answer is the law. Not only did they ignore the Affidavit and addressing it point for point Theft by deception was done when they stole my property. my plan was desimated using nonsensical statements and out right lying to deny my existing contract. Maxims, A non rebutted Affidavit stands as truth in law, A letter from them is not a sworn statement and has no weight.

If you buy a Whirlpool appliance, you will inevitably be forced to consider this insurance. And when I say inevitably, I mean within the first two years of ownership...most likely as soon as the product goes out of warranty. Whirlpool sells this plan DIRECTLY but they will assign all responsibility for servicing, addressing concerns, cancellation requests to Assurant, their 3rd party. You will be buying this plan sight unseen and when you finally get to read the document will likely want to cancel. Please be advised that Assurant will try to convince you that unless you cancel the policy same day, you are stuck with it. Whirlpool told me to expect the document within 1 week if by email, 4-6 weeks if by regular. Fortunately, I called Assurant the same day to get a copy of the plan and they sent it that evening. As soon as I read it, I emailed to cancel it and after several calls to Assurant and Whirlpool the next day was able to document that I tried to cancel...and cancel Whirlpool did. Assurant just hung up on me. What a total waste of energy and time.

I signed my wife up for this insurance this year, because it sounded like a better policy then what my work place was offering. I guess you get what you pay for, after paying into this policy for 6 months, my wife went to see two doctors for two different items. This company refused both claims, even though we hadn't even met the deductible. After several calls and letters back and forth between doctors and insurance they are still fighting us from having the money even go towards the deductible. These doctor visits were clearly covered in our health plan. Before signing up for this company I checked with the Revdex.com, thinking it would give me a good idea whether or not I could trust this company. I will from now on research a lot more then just with the Revdex.com, several people have had the same issues I have had with this company and they still hold accreditation. I originally signed up before we were planning on having a child, but now we are going to wait to switch companies before hand. This company is scam artists and even our doctors have never dealt with a company this bad before (their exact words).
