She did pay $for the car, the $number she mentioned in her complaint is probably the car plus interest over the life of the loan is what I'm thinkingThere was no recall on the vehicle, there was at one time, the time had expired, what the young lady was complaining about on the car, the
fix for that problem, at one time there there was a recall for that that particular problem but unfortunately, the recall had expiredSo we couldn't just call GM for the part and have them pay for it. I paid for the repair at no cost to herShe's confusedNow, as far as the concern about the struts, she called meI told her that her vehicle passed inspection, just because her vehicle had a rattle or a squeak doesn't mean that the struts are bad. She was upset with me about that comment, because she took it as I don't want to help her. She took it upon herself to take the car to another mechanic, he mentioned a lot of things to her that doesn't need to be done, sold her on a lot of work. She filed a grievance with a salesman ***, he'd sold her a car before, *** immediately said "let's get the car into the shop." We agreed, if there is something wrong with the struts, we'll take of itThis was after she filed a Revdex.com complaint*** gave her the number for a shop to take it into. As far as I know she hasn't taken the car into the shopI held off on responding because we were waiting to see if she'd take the care into the shop

She said she purchased her car in November which is correctThe car did come with a power train warranty which includes the engine, transmission and drive axlesShe did have a check engine light come on and we replaced evap vent bypass and vapor canister which cost about $which was not
under warranty but a goodwill gesture on our partSince then we have not really heard from her however she neglected to mention she was in an accident in the car in December and on December 31st the insurance company reported to us the vehicle was going to be deemed a total lossShe chose to retain the salvage on the vehicle and continue to drive it and still driving it to this dayBefore we sold her the car we did an Auto Check and inspectionsThe inspections passed and Auto Check did not show any prior damage or accidents. A damaged frame would not be covered under the warranty because it is not a power train problem and she has not provided us with the mileage as requestedThe only thing I could try to address under the warranty would be if it is smoking out of the exhaust and it is within the mileage for warrantyI have informed her of this prior to her making this complaintSince I have last talked to her she has not provided the mileage or taken the car to the shop

Mr*** has requested a refund on his car which he no longer has since he traded it in to another dealership. We at Auto Buy Credit did everything we were suppose to per the terms of the warranty on the car and to make a good faith effort in providing good customer service. A "new"
used engine was placed in the car after he purchased it. The time taken for this to happen was due to the fact that the motor on this Honda Passport was only produced one year by Honda which made it more difficult to locate a low mile engine and the availability was low. When he came back a few months again with the knocking noise, we did tell him we would work on it but due to the engine's low availability, it might take time to locate one. He was not satisfied with this time frame and took the car and used it as a traand bought a new car

I am the manager of the finance department of CSAC
On 10/07/he made the double payment so this may be taken care ofWe agreed to make a double payment because of his car problem but we told him to bring receipts for the repairs when he
made the double paymentHe showed up without receipts for the repairs when he came in to make the double paymentWe did eventually take the double payment from him without the receipts requestedIf he wants to return the car, he would be responsible for the difference between his balance and what is received when we sell the carThere would be a negative mark on his credit report if he does not pay the car offI believe the matter has been resolved but I thought I should respond

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/12) */
The customer purchased the vehicle April 8, 2015 in good condition. It had only one prior owner according to the car history fax. We spent $843.95 to service the vehicle to pass emissions. The only time the customer brought it back after...

purchase was to repair 2 gauges on the instrument cluster. This was agreed upon prior to the finalization of paperwork and we had to wait for parts to arrive. This repair was completed in a timely manner as agreed upon by the customer and Auto Buy Credit.
The customer has placed 5,368 miles on the vehicle since purchase. In regards to her complaint, the vehicle was towed in for a no start. The repair facility diagnosed the problem as a faulty fuel pressure regulator, which had flooded the engine and caused the no start. The fuel pressure regulator is an external component of the engine and therefore not covered under the extended service policy. Her cost for replacing the fuel pressure regulator and oil change was approximately $220. When the customer came to pick up the vehicle, she declined to pick it up because it had a Service Engine Soon light on which was diagnosed as a faulty cam position censor. The repair facility had a used came position censor available and replaced it at no charged to the customer. This repair was unrelated to the original problem of no start.
In regards to the statement of the 4 wheel drive. It is not covered under her warranty and was agreed upon at the time of sale it did not work.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:The response from the dealership is wrong, the check engine light on the vehicle was always on, they was informed before I left the repair shop the that vehicle would not pass emissions, and after the second time I brought the vehicle back they informed me that they did not know why the vehicle would not pass the emissions test. After the third time, a technician from the shop told me exactly what they did. It is the same thing that was called a " hot inspection " which was very popular in St Louis at one time for a nominal fee. The response is also erroneous in saying the vehicle must be hooked to the machine, you can have any vehicle hooked up as long as you enter the information of the car you are inspecting. You can ask any mechanic. That is also why The State of Missouri stripped many stations of the right to do emission testing. And he is correct, I only made the down payment because I knew the vehicle was not safe and the next time I tried to renew my plates, I would not be able to do so.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

The repair issues stated in this complaint is not covered in the warranty we have for this vehicle. The consumer was given a copy of the warranty that was included in the price of the car, no additional warranty was purchased by the consumer.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2015/08/17) */
We fixed her brake light (ABS) and her AC, due to the resistor switch. At the end of June, her AC wasn't working again, and the wiring going to the resistor switch that we had replaced in early December went bad - just the wiring. We had the...

wiring repaired going to the resistor switch (which she didn't have to pay for). Her brake issue this time was that it had a crack in the rear brake shoe. We replaced this out of pocket as well, though it wasn't under her warranty. She said it was acting up since she had gotten the car. After we replaced the wiring ("pick tail"), she sat down in my office when I had gone over everything with her. She left me a voice mail saying the car was running great. She called me the first week of July and asked if the radiator was covered under her warranty, and unfortunately, it did not. She must have had someone put a radiator in for her. She must have called when she was on vacation and had $1,500 worth of "front end" work done. I'm not sure what kind of front end work this was. If I can see her ticket of the work done, and these repairs are under her warranty, I will gladly reimburse her. She said someone from my shop said it was fine to take it to a shop in Myrtle Beach, where she was on vacation. No one from this shop would have said that, because this is a used car, and it is inevitable that used cars have issues. If she has a legitimate problem with her brakes, I will make good on that, since I replaced her rear brakes and did ABS work when she first bought it. I do feel bad that [redacted] is having car issues, and I will reimburse her or do work she has had done as long as it is under her warranty.

When I took the car in for inspections, it was discovered that they super glued something on the motor so that it would pass emissions. Their people passed the car on the emissions test. They should have fixed the car so that it would pass the emissions test before they sold the car to me. My mechanic told me the car will not pass the emissions test until I get that fixed. They sold me a car that should not pass the emissions test.

The vehicle was purchased June 30, 2017 and came with 12 month 12000 mile limited power train warranty. We were contacted August 23rd and told it had overheating issues. We said he needs to take it to Zisser Tire to diagnose the problem and if it was not driveable he would have to have it towed. He...

acknowledged the overheating issue and drove it Friday 25th instead of having it towed. He spoke to the service writer at the shop and said it would overheat while sitting at a stop. The shop said it sounded like a cooling fan problem but was not be able to look at it that day and needs to leave it for the next day. Mr. [redacted] said he would not leave it and would bring it back. He was informed that driving with overheating problems was not recommended and that engine damage as a result of neglect void his warranty. Mr. [redacted] left with the vehicle. The following Monday he contacted us about the vehicle and said it was not running at all and wanted us to tow it. The sales manager reiterated we do not cover towing and questioned the customer's decision not leaving the vehicle at the shop the first time when it could have been diagnosed on why it was overheating. Mr. [redacted] became belligerent and told the sales manager that Auto Buy Credit needs to pickup the vehicle because he was not going to make any payments and if we did not pick it up he burn it to the the ground. He also threatened to (expletive removed) the sales manger. At that point the call ended.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2015/12/09) */
She stated she bought the car 5/4/2014 and she actually purchased it 3/04/2014. We bought this car at the end of 2012 from a vendor with the safety and emission completed. It sit in our inventory until she purchased the van. We told her to...

bring it back to update the safety inspection. We could not do the emissions because we needed to do a dry cycle to reset the monitors but we asked her to bring it back. The check engine light came on and we diagnosed it was the catalytic converter and ordered the part and were willing to do the work for free. She has never brought the car back to do the work. She has never made a payment. Her first payment was due on April 1, 2014 and we called her on April 2, 2014 and inquired where her payment was and why she had not returned to do the work. We continued to leave messages but she had been sick and in the hospital. On 4/17/14, she was pulled over by the Beverly Hills police and her car was impounded. She got the car out of the tow lot on 4/25/14. She was told we are willing to work with her but we need proof the car was towed. All this time she is not complaining about the catalytic converter. On 5/06/14 she had an emergency but she is trying to get her car in to get the work done. On 5/08/14 we could not contact her and we put it out for repossession. From 5/08 - 5/16 we continue to leave messages. We got a hold of her on 5/16 and it was a big problem and this was on the news and she is trying to get her funds but she will try to bring the car in. On 6/25/14 we spoke to her after many messages we reached her and she agreed to bring in $300 and she wanted to get caught up. From 6/25/14 - 2/2015 we attempted to contact her. We once again got a hold of her and she said she could come in with $1000 but it was explained she would need to come up with more money because it is so far past due. We are charging the loan off and will pursue her through the courts. We have not filed in court at this time.

I am rejecting this response because: We should be entitled to some of our money back. What does he mean by A new used engine?? We asked him if he could put us in another vehicle, his reply was that he can't do that until we pay for the passport. We had no choice but to do what we did to acquire another vehicle. The Vehicle we purchased from Auto Buy Credit gave us problems from day one. The mechanic told us he couldn't give me a timetable of how long the vehicle would be just sitting on his lot because he couldn't find an engine anywhere. It had already been sitting there over three weeks. I feel that I should be reimbursed two months of car notes.. 600.00 plus the down payment of 500.00 that I had to put down on another vehicle.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2015/07/31) */
I'm not sure what she is talking about. The salesman who took the car told her we weren't aware she was having issues with the car. She's had the car almost 9 months, and we haven't really heard anything from her since she purchased it. If...

she has a warranty issue, we stand behind the warranties, as long as the warranty is still good. Unfortunately, we don't cover everything under the warranty. She had a 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty: covering engine, transmission, and drive axle. As long as the repairs have to do with one of these, and she hasn't surpassed those 12,000 miles, we are happy to help her.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/12/28) */
We put a transmission in last month under her warranty and she brought the car back because the check engine light came on. The light is on because she has a misfire code. She has put in over 12,000 miles on the car in the 5 months she has owned...

it. The misfire code is not covered in her warranty. She would need spark plugs and or wires replaced to fix the misfire code. She believes she has a bad transmission, but it's not the transmission it's the misfire. Our shop said if she takes care of the misfire, and she still has a transmission problem then they will take car of the issue with her transmission. Her car has not been diagnosed with a transmission problem as of now it is her misfire issue that is causing the check engine light. When she registered her car they waited on issuing the title because whoever had the car before us applied for a lost title. When I was made aware of this problem I got right on it, and I got the proper title issued, and it is here waiting for her to pick up. If she wants to go over the paperwork on her warranty we are more than happy to do that also.

She bought the car the first week of September and after she bought it she had the car a couple weeks and the check engine light came on for a cam position sensor. We had it replaced free of charge even though it was not covered under her warranty. Unfortunate, for her the car had the same exact...

problem with it and as it turns out the cam position sensor we put on there was faulty so we replaced it again.  This was a few days after the first one we replaced. Now her problem is an internal engine problem which is part of her warranty and as we speak they are putting a motor in her vehicle.

Ms. [redacted] purchased her car on 2/20/18. The vehicle came with a 12 month/ 12,000 mile power train warranty. We safety and emissions inspected the vehicle prior to her buying the vehicle however when she bought the car there was less than 30 days left on those inspections. We told her to bring the...

vehicle back and we would update the safety and emissions inspections at no charge to her. When she brought the vehicle in she complained about the vehicle steering, she said it veered. When we took the car into the shop. the shop told us that the previews owner replaced a tire rod end but did not properly align the vehicle. It is physically impossible to put a tire rod on backwards. The second time we were contacted by the customer she complained that the vehicle was lacking power and running poorly. We agreed to fix the problem at no charge to her whether under her warranty or not. Please note during the closing of every deal we inform the customer that we do not cover any towing charges and it is in the contract as well that it is at the owner's expense. She called us and told us that she didn't feel the vehicle would make it to us under its own power and she did not have any money for a tow. We agreed to tow the vehicle at no charge to her. The shop diagnosed the vehicle once we got it and determined the main source of her complaint was a defective throttle body. The shop also recommended replacing the intake gasket and an EGR tube. They felt that could be a problem down the road for her. We authorized to fix all the issues and gave the vehicle back to Ms. [redacted] with no charge to her. A few days after picking her car up Ms. [redacted] called us again saying the car would not start. After discussing with the sales manager we contacted Ms. [redacted] and told her we would tow the vehicle in since she had just gotten it back days prior. once the vehicle was towed in it was determined it had developed an issue with the ignition coil. This caused the vehicle to have a hard start condition and ultimately flooded the engine with excess fuel and led to the vehicle not starting. We replaced the ignition coil and all 4 spark plugs. She picked her car up and has not contacted us since the last repair. We understand her frustration with having the vehicle repaired multiple times. We feel that we have been fair with customer. She has not had to pay for any repairs to the vehicle, nor was she asked to. We also towed the vehicle at no charge to her when she said that she could not afford to do so. While none of these repairs are covered under her warranty, we feel that we have done our best to make the vehicle right when the problems were brought to our attention.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2015/11/20) */
The day [redacted] filed the complaint she came in and made a double payment. Earlier this week she made another payment. Everything has been taken care of and the customer seemed satisfied.

Shortly after buying the vehicle, there was a motor noise and the check engine light came on, so they replaced the motor for her. She had a warranty, so they put in a motor and she went on her way. Her salesman told her she could get the car in because she was complaining about her brakes. After the...

28th, I think the manager at the W. Florissant store saw this complaint. He said that he told her that it was not a covered repair, but she could bring it in and talk to my boss once he returned from vacation the next week. The early part of July, the sales manager called her and told her to come in, and she never brought it. We did not have the vehicle out for repossession. At the time of when she said it was stolen, she was past due on her loan, but not to the point of repossessing it legally. We did not go get her vehicle. We have not heard anything further from her. If the car was stolen, she is not going to get the car in. She had a payment due on the 15th of June which she has not paid.
