Auto King Reviews (22)

Review: I [redacted] cosigned for my Granddaughter [redacted] a used car from Auto King 2212 Mitchell Rd. Ceres, CA.

[redacted]s is going to school at [redacted] and working at [redacted] and this was the whole reason for getting the car so she wouldn't be late for work. It took her a long time to save the $2,000.000, that she put down as the down payment. She is 19 yrs old and a first time buyer.

The car we purchased was a 1999 Mazda 626. [redacted] had the car no longer than 4 hours. She had driven it to Oakdale to take me home, then drove the car to Fresno. When she got it there she stopped to get some groceries. She got back in the car and the check engine light came on she called the dealer and on Monday the 1st of September he sent a mechanic to Fresno to look at the car and said it was the catalytic converter. They took the car back to Ceres to have another one installed. While they had it up on the hoist, they noticed that the transmission was leaking, so they decided to put another "tranny in the car after they completed that, the speedometer didn't work so they had to keep it another day to fix that. On te 10th day of September Auto King delivered the car back to my granddaughter in Fresno. [redacted] drove the car to the grocery store to pick up a few things and when she got in it the car wouldn't move in drive. it did however move when she put it in second and then into drive to get her back home. She called Auto King when she got back from the store, told them what had happened. they in turn told her to drive it for a couple of days and then if it was still acting poorly they would come and get the car, give her a loaner and try to fix it. In the 2 weeks of signing for the car, she has driven in 4 1/2 hours. I would like to think that they have my granddaughter interest at heart, but in I am very concerned. The warranty's is only good for 30 days. Can they keep putting faulty parts in the car until 30 days are up? Please channel us in the right direction. I am writing this for your help. I feel I have gravely done an injustice to my granddaughter and her hard earned money. I would like to get back into her good graces. Please look into this matter.Desired Settlement: I would like for her to get her $2,000.00 back.

To whom it may concern: On 8/30/14 we sold a 99 Mazda 626 to [redacted] and her grandmother [redacted]. [redacted] test drove the vehicle on the freeway before purchasing the vehicle and even shopped other lots before making her final decision. She had no problems with the vehicle during the test drive. The vehicle passed smog on 4/29/14, DMV ID #2080G861P199. On Monday, September 1st she called to notify us that over the weekend she drove back and forth to San Jose, CA and Fresno, CA and noticed an issue with the transmission and check engine light. We sent a mechanic to diagnosis the issue and towing to not further damage the vehicle. Due to the check engine light we replaced the catalytic converter at [redacted] (P) ###-###-#### for $395 on 09/02/14, invoice #26591. The transmission was from a reputable used parts company known as [redacted] (P)###-###-#### and we paid $665 on 09/05/14, invoice #59202369. We paid [redacted] (P) ###-###-####, $225.00 to install the first transmission. Unfortunately, we learned the used transmission was no good but we were able to drive it to Fresno for delivery with no issues. We immediately sent for the original transmission to be rebuilt while we towed the vehicle from Fresno again. It was rebuilt by [redacted] (P) ###-###-#### at [redacted] on 09/17/14 for $1100. Since September 17th, the rebuilt transmission has been installed and we have confirmed with [redacted] that the vehicle is in good working order. As a courtesy we extended her due date by ten days to make up for time she was without the vehicle. We have done what is right for this customer. Please note that there is no record of any odometer issues and we are not insured for loaner cars, which was explained to [redacted]. Auto King provides warranties on their vehicles and backs them up as noted in the above problems. All vehicles are used and we are not aware of all the issues that may arise after a sale but we do pledge to fix any issues within the warranty period and as outlined by CA DMV laws. We are aware that it may be an inconvenience to those customers that have issues with a used car but that is what the warranty is for. This customers grandmother was very impatient and brought her daughter, the customers mother, to our place of business to cuss, swear, and flip us off, for doing our job; which we found very disrespectful and out of touch with the way we do business. They demanded location of the vehicle where it was being worked on and copies of the sales contract, which we could not give the mother. [redacted] asked us not to give any information to the Grandmother and her mother. According to [redacted] she does not get along with her mother. Auto King takes pride in its business and will continue to provide honest and top of the line custome[redacted]. We wish the customer and her family the best with the vehicle. For any questions please contact [redacted] at Auto King at ###-###-#### or our now happy customer [redacted] at ###-###-####

Response:

Company states that after receiving word form the transmission company; they will be refunding the money for the transmission and the company will be doing the same and giving back the security deposit back to the customer. The customer did not have to pay anything out of her pocket and the company has handled all concerns under warranty.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I PURCHASED A VEHICLE THROUGH AUTO KING ON 10/31/2014. MY FIRST PAYMENT WAS DUE ON 11/30/14. DUE TO A FAMILY EMERGENCY OUT OF STATE I MAILED THE PAYMENT ON 12/12/14, WHICH SHOULD HAVE COST ME ONLY A LATE FEE. ON 12/15/14 THE DEALER ILLEGALLY REPOSSESSED MY VEHICLE CLAIMING I WAS MORE THAN 30 DAYS LATE. AFTER SPEAKING WITH SALES PERSON BRIAN HE STATED THE OWNER [redacted] WAS NOT GOING TO FINANCE ME ANYMORE AND I WOULD NOT GET ANYTHING BACK. I TRIED EXPLAINING THE TERMS OF THE CONTRACT BUT THEY DID NOT CARE. THE CONTRACT STATES THEY CAN REPOSSESS THE VEHICLE IF I AM MORE THAN 30 DAYS LATE. THEY BROKE THEIR OWN CONTRACT. THAT WAS MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION AND THE ONLY SAVINGS I HAD TO PUT DOWN ON A CAR.Desired Settlement: ALL I ASK FOR IS A REFUND OF ALL MY MONEY OR HAVE THE VEHICLE BROUGHT BACK TO MY HOME.

Response:

Company states: The car was repossessed because of the default in payment. Failure to have insurance on the car. At the time of the repossession the customer did not comply with the repossessing company. I demanded full payment on the car. The car was sold today at the auction.
