The company is correct with the fact that I purchased a chair from them. I did contact them to let them know tha I would like to return it. I mentioned the chair was to small and that it was also hard to put together and that it had threading problems. They informed me that there was a restocking fee of 30%. I nor anyone on there website would know that until after the fact because they make it very hard to read let alone impossible. On the web site in states 30 day refund, but they make you check a box before you can purchase that has small writing of a whole bunch of other mumbo jumbo. NO ONE knows that in this long list of things does it mention there is a restocking fee of 30%. IT should be stated in the same place the 30 day no problem refund is stated which is on the top of their website. MISLEADING your customers and treating them the way I was treated was beyond. I have never been threatened by a company to return merchandise. They made me send them in writing that I in fact checked off this box before they would send me a return number and address. Happy Holiday[redacted]

service. The Herman Miller Aeron chair featured on our website includes a 10 year warranty with Madisonseating.com at no extra charge. The customer received the replacement part(s) he requested and was assured that we would happily service all his warranty needs for the full 10 years.Since the customer is in possession of the chair for over 6 months, a refund/return is not an option. This document is in response to the letter of complaint filed against Madisonseating by [redacted]. The consumer purchased a brand name office chair from our company back in April 2016. As the consumer stated in his complaint, it is difficult to detect the difference in the size of the particular chair you purchased, by just visually looking at the chair. We urge our customers to check out the shipment and notify us of any discrepancy or damage within 30 days of the delivery. We would be happy to pick up and replace the item free of charge if anything arrives incorrect or not as described. The consumer only notified us 8 months after receiving and using the chair that he received a (Medium) and not the (Large) size he purchased. Not only did the consumer wait 8 months to let us know about the sizing error, he transported the item to Saudi Arabia. Therefore, we offered the customer a courtesy credit for not receiving the correct size. We do feel we have been fair in our resolve on the matter given the circumstance. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. Madisonseating.com ###-###-####
This document is in response to the letter of complaint filed against Madisonseating by [redacted]. The consumer purchased a brand name office chair during the Cyber Monday weekend. The item was heavily reduced for the retail value of $900 to the special sale price of $499.99. Due to the...
tremendous response to our holiday promotion, we had to extend the delivery time frame to an estimated 2-3 weeks for delivery. The consumer was notified regarding the extended wait time for the item. The customer was indeed emailed the tracking information for her order, contrary to what is stated in this complaint. It appears the customer is having trouble accessing her emails and did not receive the following [redacted] tracking notification [redacted]0) that was emailed to her last week. We have been calling the customer as well, upon receipt of this complaint and were unable to reach the consumer by phone. Please ask the customer to contact us directly so we can provide her with all the pertinent information regarding the delivery of this chair. Thank you for your assistance in helping resolve this issue. [redacted] ###-###-####

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
I was never offered the option to await additional stock in the chair I ordered, only an ugly color, orange, or to pay 40% more for a third color. If I were to be offered the next acceptable piece of stock in the color I ordered, without a price hike, my complaint would be resolved.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
The business stated "Her shipment arrived exactly as what was advertised. I ordered a Steelcase Think chair which is supposed to have a Lumbar support bar (see attached photos). The Think Chair delivered does not hair Lumbar Support Bar (it is missing) further I now see there is a DKNY (Donna Karen New York) bag attached to the chair The consumer contacted our customer care department and stated the item did not suit her specific needs. The customer requested to return the product for an exchange. The website is INTENTIONALLY MISLEADING (see attachments and/or go to their website - if anything there should be asterick or notation denoting other terms) I made this purchase ONLY because the website repeatedly states free shipping, free return shipping...no where did it indicate there were other terms applicable or I need to review other terms. I read the entire page, after all I am a lawyer. If I had read, for additional terms, read here, I would have and then I may or may not have made the purchase from this company but I would have been advised what the terms were. The company now wants me to pay for charges that were not clearly communicated to me and in fact were clearly hidden from me intentionally to mislead me and entice me to make a purchase from the company. It appears the return shipping is prohibitively expensive and Madison Seating is well aware which it appears why they backed off at one point and said ok you pay return and we will waive restocking fee but it seems shipping for me personally will be over $150 due to size and weight whereas I imagine Madison Seating gets business rates for shipping.

box products 100% by offering a 30 day return and 10 year warranty with Madisonseating.com. The consumer purchased a brand name chair that retails for $800+ for $147.77. The chair was clearly advertised as Open Box condition in Red Lettering. The customer called our customer service department on Saturday, when our business was closed. He was contacted immediately the following business day to discuss the order. The customer confirmed that he did not read the product description carefully. It was determined that (1) of the item(s) purchased had minor damage due to the carrier mishandling the product. The customer was offered a credit to keep the chair or the option of a pick up for refund or exchange. The customer did acknowledge that the other item(s) received were in perfect condition. The consumer spoke with a skilled technician over the phone and it was discovered that he only assembled the product incorrectly but the chairs were otherwise excellent. At this time, it does appear that all the customers concerns were addressed immediately and to his satisfaction. Best regards, Madisonseating.com

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
Madison Seating did NOT respond issue. My complaint is NOT with the RETURN or REFUND rules. I understand those rules. I requested a refund ONLY because they REMOVED the SERIAL NUMBER from the chair I purchased and will not tell me what the number was or why it was removed. My complaint is with false advertising about the REMOVAL of the serial number which means that I can't order replacement parts from the manufacturer. I understand the rules that Madison Seating has for chairs that break after 30 days which is that customers must pay to ship them back for repair. I live in California and the shipping costs to and from New York are more than the chair cost. I want to have the serial number so I can order a replacement part. Madison Seating admitted that they removed the serial number, so they should have a record of it.Madison Seating should NOT remove a serial number from items it sells without advertising that fact.If they won't provide me with the serial number, then I would like to return the chair for a refund due to false advertising.

ergonomic office chair that retail for close to $1000+ at practically half the price ($450+). We back our open box products 100% by offering a 30 day return and 10 year warranty with Madisonseating.com. Our company has been in business for many years. We have sold our product(s) to many Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and hotel chains. Our records indicate that the product was delivered to the consumer in perfect condition. In December 2016 the customer contacted our company for a warranty request. It appears the consumer damaged the item during use. Madisonseating.com is proud to offer a 10 year warranty on our open box items. The customer need only send us the item for repair or replacement. While parts and labor are free, the customer is only responsible for the shipping costs associated with the warranty request. As the chair became defective during use while in the customer’s possession, we are unable to accept the product back for a refund. We would be happy to service the consumer’s chair once it is received in our warranty department. Best regards, Madisonseating.com

Okay, I give up. You win. I accept that the business is not interested in honoring the contract that they offered and agreed to. Their latest reply was basically a copy of a prior response, and they never addressed the points I raised about the contract. My only consolation is that others will be able to publicly see how you treat customers. If you are wondering why I didn't send back the chair for a refund, recall that the company withdrew their offer of $75 after they agreed to it. They admitted to this in a prior message. What should I expect with regards to a full refund if I return the chair?
