I bought a showroom corvette months ago from the sales manager himselfSince then, I've taken my car in times for warranty issues, the latest being today Upon dropping it off, I was given a loaner car (Chevy Malibu) I give them a corvette, they give me a Malibu, but anyways....I also have a grand Cherokee that I've been looking to trade in to get a pickup truckSo while I waited for my vette to be done, I went shopping to other dealerships for a pickup truckWhen I took the Malibu back to pick up the exact same corvette that I bought from this dealership, the sales manager said to me "let's just do us both a favor and bring your car somewhere else from now on." So I was told to bring my car to a dealership other than the one I bought it from and further from my houseHe ended it by stating "Have a nice life." So as soon as I left, I called Chevrolet customer service to file a complaint, who told me that they would forward the complaint to the dealership and have them handle it directlyI asked if that was appropriate since the dealership will obviously be biased on behalf of their employee and was told that I was correctThis is not the first issue that I've had with this particular dealership's service Several times I've spoke with customers who were waiting for their vehicles and also are not happy with themBottom line is.....choose a different dealership, don't buy a Chevy since their customer service does nothing for you, and don't buy a corvette since mine has had nothing but problems since the day I took possession This dealership has been a nightmare to deal with and so has my carStay away from Autonation Chevrolet in Gilbert

When I walked in the door, I was greeted with a smile. The salesman that helped me was dedicated to helping me find the right car. We even had to travel to another autonation lot to pick it up. [redacted] told me to be as picky as I needed to be. +++++ who finished my sale was polite and patient. When I was finally in the financing office --- was quick and did try to sell me a warranty that was out of my comfortable financing limit. They have to do their job and I believe corporate should recognize that they have a staff of genuine people that should be allowed to treat their customers as real people that value their money and financial obligations. I was extremely impressed with the salesmen. And after resolving an issue that I had for not reading my financing contract correctly I have only appreciation for the finance department as well.

My experience was TERRIBLEAntonio G*** was my salesmanHe repeatedly lied to my face about the situation, and also lied to the management who had to step in to deal with this matter
I called the main sales line on Friday evening let them know I was trying to purchase two vehicles, and I told Antonio exactly which ones they wereOne one as their dealership in ***, the other in ***I live hours from the dealership (in ***, AZ) and asked them to verify the vehicles were still available before I came downAntonio called me back Saturday morning to let me know both vehicles were available and he had them ready for meI brought checks to pay for one vehicle and acquired my own financing from ** *** for the other vehicle
I arrived at noon on Saturday, and even though I asked to test drive the vehicles, I was told that they negotiate numbers first, then they look at the carsAs they brought proposal sheets, I began writing large letters asking for the truckAntonio even seemed to be confused that the truck was not thereAfter about hours of not being allowed to see both cars, I started asking for a managerIt was at that time I was informed that the truck I called about was not available, that another customer had driven from another part of Arizona to purchase it
I was VERY upset at this point having driven over hours based on them telling me this truck was available, and spending another hours at the salesman's deskThey told me they had another truck, that it was no big dealThey took me to the service garage to show me a truck that was massively inferior It was white (not red), no campershell, visible wreckage10k more milesSame price though! I was very unhappy about thisThe red truck I came for had less miles, no accidents (according to ***), one owner, and a campershell
The manager came over and said if they had advance notice like the day before, they could have gotten itThey did! He told me he was not informed that someone needed a vehicle from ***I don't believe Antonio took proper steps to get this vehicle for meI actually offered multiple times to go to *** for the truck myself, or call about itI was told explicitly not to call down there or go, because I would be dealing with multiple people then
At this point, I've been at the dealer for over hours, and I told Antonio that the deals were off and I was ready to leaveWithin minutes as we were leaving the dealership, I was told the truck was suddenly availableToo coincidental I thinkThe truck arrived in minutes or so and now we had a dealUnfortunately, this whole matter took so long, that now the service department was closing until MondayI was told even though I arrived in time to do that, they deal just took so long to get done and I would have to come back (hours) to get the work doneSince we have a vacation coming up in the beginning of May and have no plans to return to the valley for some time, my mother in law asked to stay at a friend's house for two nights (we had not planned on staying, so no one had clothes or toiletries for this) and then would come back Monday with the van after the work was done
Throughout this whole process, I have been up front about my own financing and what my interest rate wasOn the proposal sheets, they consistently had my interest rate at a full point higher, though I asked them to fix itSo when I get to the finance office, of course he is writing up my contracts at the full point higher, so we had to fix that
After the papers were signed, we had been at the dealership for hoursThis was two vehicles that I identified in advance, and gave them something like hours notice to secure the vehicles before I arrivedI also came with my own financing for bothI bought my previous van in and was done in less than two hours, so I know it shouldn't take this longAntonio was still there telling me congrats and that my truck was ready and I was good to go
Then to make matters worse, I received a call on Monday that they forgot to emissions test my truckThey asked me to return (or if they could send some flunkie up to drive my truck down the mountain and back up again) for this emissions testTo top that off, the tow package was not completely transferred (no electrical cable for trailer lights) on my vanSo now both vehicles have to take a trip (180+ miles one way) that I wouldn't need to take otherwise
At this point, I'm calling the main line and asking for the managerThey ask for my name, and put me on the line with AntonioI tell Antonio that it's not fair to have me add almost miles per car that I bought because of their mistakesThey should offer to increase the warranty package I bought or to pay for the mileage costs I would incurHe tells me he can't make a decision on that, but he would convey my concerns to the managerI exchange texts with Antonio over this over the next few days, letting him know I need to hear from the manager to work this outSome days later I am contacted by Ross M***Ross is trying to schedule an appointment for the truck and van, and is COMPLETELY unaware of what has gone onAnd in fact, he is under the impression that we were told that the truck was not emissions tested, and that we could not wait for it to be completed and committed to returningThis is NOT what happenedHe was not told that we asked for an increased warranty package, or we offered to take a mileage payoutHe was lied to (like we were) about the situation
Ross is currently working on resolving thisBut I do not have (and cannot get) title on my truckI can't pull my trailer with my vanI am missing floor mats for the truck I just bought
The bottom line in this whole matter, from a customer stand point, is that I called the day before to tell them I wanted to buy two carsI told them what cars they wereI was told the next morning we were good to goThat was a flat out lieI was there for three hours as they acted confused that the truck was not thereThey assured me it was on the way for three hoursThose were liesAs my situation escalated to management, they were told more lies about what transpired
At every step along the way, this went poorlyI believe that this was an effort to sell me a different vehicle from their dealershipI purchased my last four vehicles since through AutonationUnfortunately this was the last time
For advice:
I believe that I should have been told up front that the truck was not there, and that they were trying to get it (if that was the case)Also, don't ever take a customer to the service garage and pull someone's filthy old truck down off the lift and try to sell itThat was stupid and infuriatingAnd when there is a lot full of shiny cars, it looks like you're trying to unload a pile of crap on someone, and was not a good feeling after spending many hours at that point working on getting this truck I wanted and being lied toGet the financing rightI feel like they tried to slip that in on me, and if I hadn't asked the finance guy (who said he got everything he needed from Antonio to write it up) to verify everything, I would have signed a much more expensive loanFollowup with the service department to make it clear that when a customer wants to pull trailers, they need to be able to plug the lights inYou pay for electrical separately, and we requested they both be transferredIt shouldn't have been up to my mother in law to get on her knees and stick he head underneath the van to verify the electrical cable is there
Hopefully something could be done to correct this, but to this day I never heard from the General Manager as I requestedI posted a review on the internet to express my dissatisfactionI received a reply telling me to call the manager, and he refused to speak with meSo I don't have confidence this would get resolved favorably at this point

I was in the market for new Chevrolet Volt and compared prices from various local dealers in ArizonaAutoNation Chevrolet Mesa uses fraudulent, misleading and deceptive advertising practices in their website pricing for their inventory of vehicles for saleThey advertise SmartChoice Pricing which is advertised on their website as no haggle pricing for each vehicle specifiedHowever they fail to disclosed that those prices include all the possible rebates and incentives if you qualified for eachNobody will ever qualify for each oneSecondly, they also advertised some Chevy Volts for $9000-$10,below every other dealers pricingThey used deceptive and misleading advertising
by deducting the amount that you might qualify from federal tax rebates or deductions which you might get when you file your taxes the following year and they deduct that off their selling price for the vehiclesNo where does it state in their disclosures about the tax rebates as part of their low pricingThey just want you to come in so they can do a bait and switch on youThey just totally wasted my time and gas

While the everyday workers are very polite, the management has a definite scam going on their warranties. Do not use their service department. I took my car in to be fixed two months ago. I was told it would take just an hour but I ended up waiting seven hours. They did not have an available car to send me home until half an hour before they had my car fixed. When I drove out I noticed immediately that they had not fixed the problem but did not have time to turn around and drop it off again. When I did get a chance to return it they told me it was something entirely different and they would not honor their warranty. In addition they broke another part on the air conditioning when they supposedly fixed it. I ended up taking it to another dealership where they actually knew what they are doing.

I bought a showroom 2015 corvette 7 months ago from the sales manager himself. Since then, I've taken my car in 6 times for warranty issues, the latest being today.

Upon dropping it off, I was given a loaner car (Chevy Malibu). I give them a corvette, they give me a Malibu, but anyways....I also have a grand Cherokee that I've been looking to trade in to get a pickup truck. I asked if that was appropriate since the dealership will obviously be biased on behalf of their employee and was told that I was correct. This is not the first issue that I've had with this particular dealership's service.

Several times I've spoke with customers who were waiting for their vehicles and also are not happy with them. Bottom line is.....choose a different dealership, don't buy a Chevy since their customer service does nothing for you, and don't buy a corvette since mine has had nothing but problems since the day I took possession.

This dealership has been a nightmare to deal with and so has my car. Stay away from Autonation Chevrolet in Gilbert.

I purchased a 2014 Silverado truck on August 4, 2014 as of today September 19, 2014 I still have not received my license plate. We signed all the necessary paperwork and was guaranteed they would take care of getting the plates. I called last week and [redacted] said well the paper work was only submitted on September 12, 2014 and said he could not issue a new temporary plate until it expired on the 18th but to call to remind him because he probably would not remember so I called again this morning just to get his voicemail and after leaving several messages still have not received a phone call or a new temporary plate. Called back again to speak to a general manager but of course they are already gone for the day. I would highly recommend you DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this dealership as they are all about selling vehicle and not customer services.

From the begining to the end of the sales process it was nothing but pure hell! The management is horrible we had to send our own papers to the bank because they lost them and we have been trying to get ahold of [redacted] for months and he refuses to call us back! This dealership is a joke and they have lost all respect from me! The managers laugh when we express our concerns and stuck us in a bad car please investigate these horrible crooks

Dear [redacted] and [redacted],

I'm sorry for the inconvenience to your family. We now have you a rental car and your cobalt is being repaired in our service department as we speak. Our...

service department has checked out your vehicle and is doing the repairs. Today is Monday 3-3, we are still working on the vehicle. I have spoken to [redacted] about your problems as well. Your issues our being addressed with the approiate people for the customer service you received. This isn't how we do business. Once again my apologies to you and your family. The service adviser for your vehicle is [redacted].
    Sincerely,

    [redacted]

Early this year I had a pinion seal replaced in my 2008 Avalanche. It made so much noise after the repair I had to take it back after driving half a block. It was re-repaired and seemed to be fine. While driving over the summer a noise developed in the rear end. I took it to my local Canadian dealer who found the pinion bearings damaged because of over-tightening. I asked the Canadian service manager to contact the Auto nation service manager to determine if they would contribute to the re-repair cost. I was told that I could not have driven the vehicle back to Canada if it was a faulty repair by them. the re-repair in Canada cost me an extra $1000 which I still believe was caused by improper work by Auto Nation. I was also shocked to find that their repair invoices do not provide for any warranty on their workmanship! So watch out once your warranty expires!

I have spoken with [redacted] and our General Manager [redacted] about this complaint. They both concur that repair of the oil leak to the front of the motor at no time involved the steering system on her vehicle. When the customer returned for the steering repairs we were able to get assistance from Chevrolet for 45% of the cost of the repair on a one time goodwill basis. The customer's vehicle had over 80,000 miles on it and we were lucky to get that much assitance for a vehcile out of warranty. I can appreciate the situation, but at this time we have done every thing we can for this customer.

    Sincerely,

My experience was TERRIBLE. Antonio G[redacted] was my salesman. He repeatedly lied to my face about the situation, and also lied to the management who had to step in to deal with this matter.

I called the main sales line on Friday evening let them know I was trying to purchase two vehicles, and I told Antonio exactly which ones they were. Within minutes as we were leaving the dealership, I was told the truck was suddenly available. Too coincidental I think. The truck arrived in 45 minutes or so and now we had a deal. Unfortunately, this whole matter took so long, that now the service department was closing until Monday. I was told even though I arrived in time to do that, they deal just took so long to get done and I would have to come back (3.5 hours) to get the work done. Since we have a vacation coming up in the beginning of May and have no plans to return to the valley for some time, my mother in law asked to stay at a friend's house for two nights (we had not planned on staying, so no one had clothes or toiletries for this) and then would come back Monday with the van after the work was done.

So when I get to the finance office, of course he is writing up my contracts at the full point higher, so we had to fix that.

After the papers were signed, we had been at the dealership for 8 hours. This was two vehicles that I identified in advance, and gave them something like 18 hours notice to secure the vehicles before I arrived. I also came with my own financing for both. I bought my previous van in 2013 and was done in less than two hours, so I know it shouldn't take this long. Antonio was still there telling me congrats and that my truck was ready and I was good to go.

Then to make matters worse, I received a call on Monday that they forgot to emissions test my truck. They asked me to return (or if they could send some flunkie up to drive my truck down the mountain and back up again) for this emissions test. To top that off, the tow package was not completely transferred (no electrical cable for trailer lights) on my van. So now both vehicles have to take a trip (180+ miles one way) that I wouldn't need to take otherwise.

At this point, I'm calling the main line and asking for the manager. They ask for my name, and put me on the line with Antonio. I tell Antonio that it's not fair to have me add almost 500 miles per car that I bought because of their mistakes. They should offer to increase the warranty package I bought or to pay for the mileage costs I would incur. He tells me he can't make a decision on that, but he would convey my concerns to the manager. I exchange texts with Antonio over this over the next few days, letting him know I need to hear from the manager to work this out. Some 6 days later I am contacted by Ross M[redacted]. Ross is trying to schedule an appointment for the truck and van, and is COMPLETELY unaware of what has gone on. And in fact, he is under the impression that we were told that the truck was not emissions tested, and that we could not wait for it to be completed and committed to returning. This is NOT what happened. He was not told that we asked for an increased warranty package, or we offered to take a mileage payout. He was lied to (like we were) about the situation.

Ross is currently working on resolving this. But I do not have (and cannot get) title on my truck. I can't pull my trailer with my van. I am missing floor mats for the truck I just bought.

The bottom line in this whole matter, from a customer stand point, is that I called the day before to tell them I wanted to buy two cars. I told them what cars they were. They assured me it was on the way for three hours. Those were lies. As my situation escalated to management, they were told more lies about what transpired.

At every step along the way, this went poorly. I believe that this was an effort to sell me a different vehicle from their dealership. I purchased my last four vehicles since 2013 through Autonation. Unfortunately this was the last time.

For advice:

I believe that I should have been told up front that the truck was not there, and that they were trying to get it (if that was the case). Also, don't ever take a customer to the service garage and pull someone's filthy old truck down off the lift and try to sell it. That was stupid and infuriating. And when there is a lot full of shiny cars, it looks like you're trying to unload a pile of crap on someone, and was not a good feeling after spending many hours at that point working on getting this truck I wanted and being lied to. Get the financing right. I feel like they tried to slip that in on me, and if I hadn't asked the finance guy (who said he got everything he needed from Antonio to write it up) to verify everything, I would have signed a much more expensive loan. Followup with the service department to make it clear that when a customer wants to pull trailers, they need to be able to plug the lights in. You pay for electrical separately, and we requested they both be transferred. It shouldn't have been up to my mother in law to get on her knees and stick he head underneath the van to verify the electrical cable is there.

Hopefully something could be done to correct this, but to this day I never heard from the General Manager as I requested. I posted a review on the internet to express my dissatisfaction.
