Dear Revdex.com Resolution Consultant,We are replying to complaint ID #*** for *** ***.On May 11th , Ms*** brought her Honda Civic, vin ***, IN TO AutoNation Honda of Renton for “CAR DIES WHILE DRIVING CUSTOMER HEARS A CLICK AND THAN CAR DIES” After inspecting
the vehicle by a Certified Honda trained technician we determined the electrical portion of the ignition switch had failed In addition to the ignition switch the vehicle had many other issues including an oil leak from the rear main seal, oil leak from the distributor o-ring, muffler has hole, washer bottle leaking, p/s fluid dirty, rear trailing arm bushings worn, exhaust pipe has hole, rear main seal leaking oil, and multiple exterior bulbs burnt out.Ms*** authorized, AutoNation Honda of Renton, to conduct and replace the following items on work order ***:Engine system diagnosis $Replace burnt out bulbs $Replace leaking engine rear main seal $Replace faulty ignition switch $Replace leaking distributor oil o-ring $119.70.On May 20th, Ms*** brought her vehicle back into AutoNation Honda of Renton for “RECHECK CUSTOMER STATES CAR DIED WHILE DRIVING” After conduction an engine diagnosis we were unable to duplicate the customers concern We did find however; the ignition cap and rotor had burn marks indication this could be an issue contributing to the customers concern We advised the customer this was an educated recommendation but could not guarantee this repair would resolve the customers concern.Ms*** authorized, AutoNation Honda of Renton to replace the ignition coil, cap and head assembly on work order ***:Replace ignition coil, cap, and head components $Diagnostic charges waived.On June 11th, Ms*** brought her vehicle back into AutoNation Honda of Renton for “CUSTOMER STATES ENGINE DIED WHILE DRIVING” After conduction and engine diagnosis We were unable to duplicate the concern We did however offer to replace the engine ignitor as a goodwill gesture at no charge.Ms*** declined free replacement of the engine ignitor:Replace engine ignitor $(No charge, but declined)Customer had vehicle towed with no repairs performedDiagnostic charge waived.Ms*** contacted us June 12th and requested a refund of $ After a thourough review of the repair history, we offered to refund the first repair cost for replacement of the ignition switch and diagnosis charge of $(including sales tax) This refund would be contingent on duplicating the customer concern of the vehicle stalling while driving All additional charges were repairs completely unrelated to the customers original conern (oil leaks, burnt bulbs, etc.).Ms*** declined the offer and had her vehicle towed from AutoNation Honda of Renton

I have reached out to the customer to offer assistance in rescheduling the recall repair and offered a complimentary loaner vehicle while the car is in for repair

Replace engine ignitor $475.00 (No charge, but declined).2. Customer had vehicle towed with no repairs performed.3. Diagnostic charge waived.Ms. [redacted] contacted us June 12th 2016 and requested a refund of $1975.18.  After a thourough review of the repair history, we offered to refund the first repair cost for replacement of the ignition switch and diagnosis charge of $648.75 (including sales tax).  This refund would be contingent on duplicating the customer concern of the vehicle stalling while driving.  All additional charges were repairs completely unrelated to the customers original conern (oil leaks, burnt bulbs, etc.).Ms. [redacted] declined the offer and had her vehicle towed from AutoNation Honda of Renton.

Good Afternoon,AutoNation Honda Renton did attempt to complete the transfer of Mr. [redacted] personalized plates, unfortunately the request was denied by the Washington State DOL due to a pre-existing name discrepancy on the documents for the plates the customer wanted to transfer. I have spoken with...

Saturday,November 21, 2015. As a Goodwill gesture, we allowed an additional $500.00 towards her trade in,and she was satisfied with the entire purchase.
Renton Honda will consider this case closed.
