Autos Direct of Fredericksburg Reviews (%countItem)

I purchased a vehicle from this dealership back in December 2018. I paid to have my plates mailed to me along with the vehicle title. I filed out the paperwork for them to "stand in line in the dmv" as they said. A month later 1/15/2019 I call autos direct because I had not received my plates. Just to be transferred to the manager Dean who had some bad news for me...…. Never expecting what he was going to say next he states that I need to return the vehicle ASAP. Unfortunately they do not have the vehicle title and without a title there's nothing else they can do. Dean the manager apologized and said he would accommodate me however necessary but they need to return the vehicle to the "Auction" they purchased it from. In regards to contacting me I never got a call, or even a letter in the mail to let me know of the situation if I had not reached out to them I would have never known of the situation. According to Dean it is the first time this happens. But as I read some google reviews it is not the first time this happens. Worst Business ever.

We sold this car to Ms. in December, however couple weeks into the sale, we were told by the auction they couldn't get the title from the previous seller. We tried our best in seeing what we can do, but at the end a title couldn't get produced to us. We informed customer about this situation and told her we had to unwind everything. On Jan 16 2019, she came to the dealership where we gave her a loaner car while we look for another car for her. On Jan 26 2019, she came to the dealer and purchased another vehicle, along with her Mom buying a vehicle also (buyers order for her and Mom attached). She fully understood she was in no obligation to purchase a vehicle from us as we would've fully refunded her down payment. This was a very rare situation we encountered therefore we wanted to do everything we could to please Ms.. We have also sent in the payoff check for the vehicle returned and her down payment was applied toward the new car she purchased this past Saturday. We have titles to both cars purchased on Saturday therefore I guarantee her tags will be issued on time and we should have no issues. Am very happy everything worked out and Ms. along with her Mom left the dealership Saturday very happy with the service we provided.

I made the mistake of buying a car from them in June 2018. The salesman made A LOT of promises and has broken every one of them. Now I need to have my car worked on under the warranty that they supposedly sold me. The warranty company doesn’t have any information on me and the dealer won’t give me the contract number. I started going round and round with the salesperson, who eventually called me a dumba-- and said that they weren't going to do anything.

Autos Direct of Fredericksburg Response • Jan 15, 2019

I called Mr. after receiving the complaint and have emailed him the correct warranty information. Apparently, the wrong info was given to him. Attached is also the print out of email conversation between both of us. I also did apologize to him about our salesperson's behavior. We would like to always provide good customer service and there is no reason to get loud at any point. Mr. bought the vehicle on June 11, 2018 and the problem just occurred on December 20, 2018, therefore I explained to him we can not help in getting the vehicle back however, he does have a 24 month warranty. I also have advised him that in the future to contact me directly with any questions. Shall you have any further questions, please contact me at

My daughter purchased a car from this dealership with me as cosigner, it was way more than we planned on spending but as it was reported to be in perfect condition, we decided to purchase it. Five days later, my daughter pulled out of a parking space at work and the bumper and undercarriage fell off. It was NOT involved in an accident and Geico believes it is possible it was like this when sold. We were supposed to receive tags for the car, but did not. We called and emailed repeatedly. I received ONE phone call stating that WE were supposed to get emissions tested but we were never told this. As the car was in the body shop for over two weeks, we were unable to do so. As soon as the car was repaired, the emissions was completed and given to the dealership who NEVER contacted us again despite emails asking for information. WE called them today and were very rudely told that it was OUR fault that the tags were not obtained and that we needed to go to *** ourselves. I have only received ONE phone call about emissions and no other. They have never called my daughter regarding the issue either. Now my daughter has expired plates and will miss time from work to complete a transaction they were responsible for. To date, they have done nothing to investigate the damage to the car to determine if the *** was incorrect. We spent hundreds on a car rental, lost time from work and spent thousands more than anticipated and all we got was attitude and our emails have been ignored repeatedly. All they have done is issue a check to return the fee for the tags. They title the car without tags and NEVER contacted us. I have no voicemails or emails from them since the initial phone call to tell us we were responsible for the emissions and this was weeks after purchasing the car while it was in the body shop. The lady who we spoke to today blamed us and the sales staff...piitiful! They owe us more than a refund of tags in my opinion.

Autos Direct of Fredericksburg Response • Jan 15, 2019

In the county these customers live in requires emissions. At time of sale customers are told this as well as signing the form pertaining to emissions needed. Our title clerk gave these customers over 2 months to provide emissions to us. Once a customer fails to, we have to process title only and provide the title to customers bank. Title only was processed on December 27, 2018. Not sure how a bumper could just fall off the car but driving it for 5 days with this not happening means there wasn't anything wrong with the bumper when sold. Customers were offered a warranty and they declined it, the vehicle was sold as is, therefore we can not further help these customers. I do apologize if our title clerk seemed aggressive, but its her job to process tags/title within 30 days of purchase and in this case it exceeded far more then our time frame. Am not sure who customers were calling at the store, but they never spoke to our manager. If customers have not picked up their tags at OMV, they can use that registration refund and pay that amount at their local *** and pick up their tags. Sales tax and everything else were already paid for. We wish these customers best of luck.

Drove four hours each way to pick up a car that we had talked extensively with salesman about. When we got there the car was not clean and smelled like cigarette smoke. We had our own financing so it shouldn’t take ling for the paperwork but while we were waiting for paperwork they sold the car to someone else! They are predators and I feel sorry for the person who paid $*** more than we were going to for the same car.

I leased a car from them and it broke down the same day..they came and got it and fixed it..they said rhey replaced my crank shaft and cam shaft..2 weeks later im driving and the car cut off in the middle of the road..I get it towed home, contact them, and they said since I owe $*** from my initial down payment, if I gt it fixed thell take the $*** off..I got a mechanic to put the car on the computer diagnostics, and he told me the parts they fixed had moved from its original position and knocked my timing chain off..so I called the dealership and told them that the problem was their fault and could they fix it.I told them that it cost $*** to fix and they just brushed me off and ignored me

Autos Direct of Fredericksburg Response • Dec 31, 2018

First of all I would like to apologize to Mr. Lewis for his troubles. We did our best in providing him a good customer service by getting the vehicle towed to a mechanic shop and paid over $*** for repairs. He picked the car and it was fine. We did contact him after further issues he had with the vehicle and got the vehicle towed again to our mechanic shop. However, at this point we have decided to payoff the loan in the amount of $***. I have attached a copy of the check being mailed to their bank. We wish best of luck for Mr.. Shall he need anything further, he can contact me directly at ***. Sophie S

I purchased a car here in late July 2018. By late August 2018 we were receiving tickets from *** for a violation that identified the car as abandoned with the same temporary dealer plate numbers as the car we purchased. Now I am paying tickets to *** for a car that has never left ***. I purchased a *** from Autos Direct and the car with violations in *** is listed in the citations as an *** Police, *** and the violation dept in *** County. *** can do nothing to help. I suspect there are temporary plate violations occuring here and *** should investigate this business.

I found the truck on line for $*** sent a $*** down payment to find they raised the price to $***. I have the ad and the bill of sale .

I would like my $*** and sales tax $*** refunded.

Autos Direct of Fredericksburg Response • Oct 24, 2018

Please note that all of our sales prices are based on cash or certified check. Shall there be any financing involved the finance fee from the financing bank will be added to the deal. We never force our customer to purchase a vehicle from us. Mr. had a choice and he was never forced to purchase this vehicle from us. He was fully explained and was aware of the sale price of this vehicle when he signed all of the documents. If he was not happy with the sale price, Mr. shouldn’t have agreed and signed bill of sale which clearly indicates the sale price of the vehicle. He also signed the finance contract and the title application which clearly indicates the sale price of this vehicle. Mr. knew and was fully aware of the sale price at the time sale. This sale is finalized and the titling and tags process has started. He should expect to receive his hard tags soon. Regards, Amin K

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by Autos Direct in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that even though I am not happy with the response, I probably have to accept it. However, for the record, I would like to say that I am not happy with how they handled my purchase of the *** I was verbally given an out-the-door price for the truck of $***. When I signed the bill of sale, I trusted that they were honoring their verbal price and have learned they did not deserve that trust and I should have reviewed the documents more closely before I signed them. (MY MISTAKE AND IT COST ME AT LEAST $***!)

I have bought many vehicles and this is the first time I have bought a vehicle from a company that was so DISHONEST! When a company is not as good as their word, it does not say a lot about them. To have a statement in their documentation that says “I understand that Representatives of the Dealership are not authorized to make oral promises to me” further clarifies that the dealership is dishonest and probably routinely makes verbal promises to customers that they do not plan to keep.

Also for the record, to sell a vehicle that does not pass all state and emission inspections in the state vehicle is sold should be against the law. When a customer buys a used vehicle, they know there could be things wrong, but that vehicle should have met all required inspections in that state. This also shows the dishonesty of Autos Direct. The truck I purchased has a *** state inspection sticker, but I cannot find the inspection documentation anywhere in the vehicle so I question if Autos Direct really had the vehicle inspected or if they have a stash of inspection stickers on hand for their convenience. They put a sticker on the vehicle they sell to make the customer believe the vehicle has passed the inspection and the vehicle really hasn’t. Also I am pretty sure the truck is not going to pass the emission test required in the state of ***. Again a live and learn experience for me and a costly expense for me.

To end, I think Autos Direct is the most dishonest company I have ever done business with and I would never recommend that someone purchase a vehicle from them. I will let people know of my experience and how dishonest they are.

We went to look into purchasing a vehicle.. They were NOT helpful just left us in parking lot for long periods of time and back and forth between many customers... and so we decided to take out business else where, guy text us when he realized we were gone "NOT INTERESTED IN CAR" we said no. We then realized they still had his license. We contacted them right away on 9/18/218 in evening to say we were on our way to get it.. he said OK we called over and over after going down there (out of our way) and they were gone left on purpose b/c we didn't want to purchase the car He then LEFT the property with my husband license on his person my husband went down to get it next day to discover the guy not only left the property but was at the barbershop with his license. (mind you we did an application so the guy has not only his license info but social, address, pay and company information and so forth. I called the business spoke with JACK will not give me last name I asked for manager they said no they only have 1 and he is out of country refused to give me his name number or email for contact. WE CALLED The police to report this as well. This is ridiculous and from the reviews this and many issues occur quite often they are thieves and vultures and something needs to be done..WHO is to say WHAT this guy has or will or can do with his info.. credit/ personal/selling it/citizenship if he is not so forth WE DON"T KNOW...... THERE WEBSITE lists 2 address please file this OFFICIAL COMPLAINT UNDER BOTH ADDRESS:

We do apologize for unprofessional experience you had at our establishment. Please note all applications are stored in locked box upstairs, where only the Admins have access to them, not the rest of our staff. We have to store all applications by the federal law and state law for a specific time, after that they are shredded. We do regret your bad experience with us, but we have removed and no longer work here, the salesperson in question. Regards, Amin K

I got the car I wanted the salesmen were very professional they worked on the price with me they made sure I was satisfied we both walked away happy with the experience.

I spoke with dealership at least 5 times prior to making the 6.5 hr road trip one way to view the vehicle. Sales rep guaranteed "no rust", everything operable, price negotiable, and would already be detailed and out the door in 2 hours. I told them I was giving them personal check and they advised only needed to see bank statement and DL. I arrive to dealership and the vehicles complete undercarriage is covered in rust, none of the lights in the left rear corner panel work, personal items and beer caps left inside vehicle (from finance manager), price was not negotiable, advised they do NOT take personal checks and was there for over 4 hours. Eric, finance manager, RUDE. I purchased vehicle at full price, and left while they "detailed" car, "filled the gas tank", and gathered paperwork. Returned to get car and it was not detailed and they refused to put gas in it. Eric told me (amongst other things) he "never wanted to sell me the car" and I had "plenty of money in my account to purchase the car." Drove the car off lot and stopped for gas minutes later, and car would not start. Called dealership and they refused to take my call. Car has been in shop twice already. Car did not have oil on dip stick when they guaranteed it had been serviced.

Autos Direct of Fredericksburg Response • Aug 24, 2018

I would like to address our customer's concerns. First, yes she did drive a long distance to come see the car, and the vehicle did have very minor rust. Obviously, this didn't bother her while she still choose to purchase the vehicle. We did not enforce the sale onto her. Attached is copy of her check with funds drafted from her account while she states we told her we don't accept personal checks. If she wanted to negotiate the price, this should have been done prior to her driving 6 hours to come to the dealership as our prices are set on line. This transaction was done toward close of business, so am not sure when she called us and no one was in the office to answer the phone. She is also stating the car didn't have oil, we get all our cars inspected, oil changed before we sell them. We have our $*** processing fee on the advertisements as well as signs posted inside the dealer visible to customers. We have 4-5 witness as well as our cameras showing Ms. trying to run over our staff. This is when Eric was upset and made have said something to her. He's been with our company for many years and has a lot of respect for all our customers. As always, customer service is our# priority and we feel there is no need to honor Ms. request at this time. She never called our office or spoke to anyone here about any issues of the vehicle and she had her choice of buying the car. I believe our staff did everything they could to please this customer but sometimes doesn't matter how much we do, we can not satisfy all customers

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I am rejecting the response by Auto Direct and correcting the mistakes and false statements within the response. The vehicle did not have "minor rust". It was covered the undercarriage the entire length of the vehicle. It did not corrode anything all the way through so I purchased it. What bothered me was the multiple phone calls prior to my arrival guaranteeing me there was no rust at all. I made that very clear in my conversation that I did not want rust. To arrive there, see the rust, and was told it was "water spots" is a total fabrication. The personal check was eventually accepted only after going back and forth with a very unpleasant fiance manager who could care less I was told they did accept personal checks prior to my arrival. There was a complete lack of customer care. Finally after first telling me I had to go to a bank to get a certified check (which cannot happen), then wanting a credit card (which *** declined the transaction due to being out-of-state and believed it was a fraudulent charge) , Eric called the owner "champion" and got approval to accept the check. I did not negotiate the price prior to my arrival due to being told, once again, I could negotiate upon seeing the vehicle. When I called back the business minutes after leaving and the vehicle broke down; someone answered the phone but everyone I asked for I was told left. The vehicle did not have oil in it. The $*** is posted at the dealership (which cannot be viewed 6.5 hours away), and did not see it anywhere on-line and was not told about it over the phone. As far as "run over our staff" is laughable. After a worthless exchange of words from Eric where I was told the vehicle would be detailed and gassed up (which it was NOT); the only thing Eric provided was "i don't know what to tell you ma'me" repeatedly. What a professional care representative could of said to avoid all this would be "I am sorry Ms. let me get the vehicle detailed as promised and gas the car as you were told it would be. My apologies." Instead Eric continued to call me "ma'me - I don't know what to tell you." Another nearby worker said "give her her check back." Eric handed me the check when I had every intention of purchasing the vehicle. I walked to the vehicle and attempted to get out a parallel parking spot when I handed the check back to some other worker. The vehicle was not driven in any direction toward anyone and the cameras will show that. I was attempting to pull out of a parallel parking spot and the vehicle was moved a couple feet when I handed the check back to some worker. I never called the office back due to the overall quality and complete lack of customer care the business showed. Who was there to speak to? The owner "champion"? My point being the response sent from Auto Direct regarding my complaint came from a "Sophie S" and gives no indication of who this person is. After purchasing the vehicle I had to call back the business 3 times to get my title mailed to me. Big surprise I was put on hold all 3 times and transferred to empty voicemails and after a total of 25 minutes on hold was told it would be mailed to me. There was zero common courtesy, hand shakes, or thanks for purchasing the vehicle provided by Eric. Eric provided the opposite treatment by telling me I had enough money in my account to buy the vehicle, told me he never wanted to sell me the car in the first place, never followed through with a detailed and gassed car, or apologized for all the false information told to me. The attitude and statements made by Eric were completely unprofessional!

Regards

I bought and *** from the dealership on 6/1/18, at the time of purchase the car had issues with the front end not lining up. The hood was crooked and won't open back driver side window won't roll down and radio doesn't work. So we agreed that I would get estimates for the repairs in *** so I would not be inconvenience, but once I sent the estimate of the repair they did not like the cost. I live in *** a 100 miles away from the dealership, so the salesman named Gary C which he's very unprofessional said lets make a date so I could bring the car back for repairs and they would give me a loaner car until my car was done. My car was set to be brought down I called before I left home and the salesman (Gary) said the manager renege on the loaner car (Gary C) hung the phone up on me after and exchange of word and wouldn't answer Nono of my calls. The estimate that I got in the amount of $*** for the work that was needed to be done to the front end of the car I was willing to split the cost with them and they denied that as well. At this point I am stuck and don't know what to do so I am contacting Revdex.com for guidance. I would like to get my car repaired here in *** at a shop that I know and trust.

I called Mr. on Friday August 17, 2018 after receiving the complaint. I was not aware of the situation although he did state he has talked to his salesperson. I did also talk to the salesperson and believe we could’ve handled this situation better. In any case, I advised Mr. the estimate of repairs he’s received was way too high. We have offered him $*** toward his repairs and he is happy with that and has accepted this amount. He will be signing the agreement form between us and I will be sending him the check.Thank you,Sophie S

I bought a truck from them on June 24th and everything was great they said it was all financed told me my payments and everything. 3 weeks later truck started to act up so I called the dealer to see if they could fix it because I had already put a lot in it from other problems I had found wrong with it. They said sure they would fix it or refund my money but when I get to the lot and hand them the keys they said I would get no refund and the financing didn't go through and they where keeping the truck. Just a very poor way to do business when the contract states that the dealer has 5 days to finalize the deal or a full refund will be given

Autos Direct of Fredericksburg Response • Aug 17, 2018

Referenced to the above case, Mr. put down $*** toward the purchase of the vehicle and not $***. He had the truck for 3 weeks while we were working on the financing of the vehicle for him. He then complained that the truck was not pulling a trailer he had attached to the truck. At the same time, the financing company returned the file back to us for unverifiable income documents. The bank stated the paystubs provided to us were possibly fraudulent. Since he wasn 't happy with the vehicle and the financing didn't go through, vehicle was returned. The down payment of $*** was signed as Non-Refundable. The financing dept worked very hard in trying to get his loan done and he had the vehicle for few weeks adding miles and deprecation to the vehicle. We have found nothing wrong with the vehicle after it was returned. There are certain circumstances that we would honor returning the non refundable deposit. But we apologize in this case we can not. I understand he wants to purchase the vehicle. We do still have this vehicle in stock and would love to sell it to him. He would need to get his own financing though perhaps at his bank. We would be more then happy to assist him. Shall you have any further questions, please contact me at ***.

Sold me a vehicle with undisclosed accidents and prior frame damage and now major negative equity.

Autos Direct of Fredericksburg Response • Jun 11, 2018

I would like to address Ms. concerns. The vehicle was sold to her l ½ years ago. This is the first time we are hearing about this and from her. According to our records, the vehicle was sold in good running and driving condition. It underwent all the required pre-sale service inspections. Ms. was fully aware of the condition of the vehicle and signed forms acknowledging this as well as any prior damage/accidents. I have attached all forms she has signed. Ms. is a very intelligent woman working at Geico at time of sale and am sure she understood every form she signed. Furthermore, the vehicle was sold to her AS-IS. She's stating this vehicle is dangerous but then she's been driving it for the past 16 months. As always, customer service is our # l priority and we at Autos Direct feel we can not honor Ms. request at this time. She was fully aware of all conditions of the vehicle and with the lengthy time to offer her any assistant. Again, at this time, we regret but we can not accept this vehicle back.

Sophie S.

Customer Response • Jun 11, 2018

Forms one and two were not signed by me nor was I made aware of the Prior Accidents and Frame Damage. Lets use a little common sense here.....your right I am a very smart person and I could've gone next door to the dealership and paid the same price for a brand new 2017 vehicle. You are liable. I have also made a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency as well. You will be held liable. (Forgery is illegal also) Let's take responsibility this time and show that all the reviews about your company are not always accurate. Regards

My husband and I had a really horrible experience at Autos Direct. We were told that if we had good credit we could qualify for ***% and even though both of us had scores over *** we received ***%. We only found out about this when we were signing the final paperwork (that took several hours). We had also been told by 2 salespeople that there was a spare key for the vehicle and we would receive it when we got the plates, that was a lie too. No integrity and poor customer service.

Found this statement at the bottom of the website. "*** Disclaimer: The information on vehicles provided in this service is supplied by the seller."
However the seller provided a list price that was HALF the selling price! Called to inquire, would not give the price just said come in we'll negotiate. They are lying to get people in to look at cars. What kind of ss do this! List your cars for the actual selling price! Don't try to con people! I see a lot of other reviews with the same experience, seems like this is how they see fit to run their business.
