My experience with Springleaf financial services is kind of awkward, because I can't understand how they do things When I applied for a loan with the company I, was asked how much money did I make and I told themWhen I got to the office I was rejected because they stated that I did not make enoughAlthough we had spoke on the phone several times before I went into the office The amount of money changed when I got into the officeThe lady I spoke to was named Sharea in the mtzion office I was not denied credit when I applied with the companyShe stated that I didn't have enough earnings to qualify for the loanWhen the mail came that evening I, got a letter from them stating that I was denied credit with themI know the post office is good but, how can a person not qualify for a loan and get the letter the same day in the mail Now that credit denial will be on my credit as a inquiry Although I was not denied credit

I was approved for a dollar loan via email, which from the email stated "pending income and identity verification"after going through the process of giving my information to the company they said wait two hours for the underwriters to complete my loanAfter I called the company, my loan was denied, without verifying my income or identity100% advertisement and servicesDid not do anything they said as stated in writing

I guess I should have read the negative reviews posted through the Revdex.com because all reviews have a fact within them I feel that myself I got mislead into a supposed "approved " loan I initially applied for $and got an instant "approved' confirmation of $ I received a call back from a representative from SpringLeaf financial and they took my info down and continued the processA day later they leave a message at home saying that they had good news, I call back and then comes the fact that I have to put my car down as collateral, so that I could get my the full $requested, so I agree I then submit more information than I should to then come and find out I got denied Also forget getting a call back to tell me that I got denied I had to call in days after submitting paper workAll the representative could say is sorry we have mailed the reasons why the loan was denied I sincerely feel mislead with the process of his company I would never recommend this company to anyone, very disappointing and bad experience

One of the worst companies to do business with Now on week waiting for my car title When they did send out this week it was sent to an address I have not lived at for over years Have no idea when I will be receiving the title This shows how incompetent this company is

Their customer service is ridiculously bad The do not return phone calls We asked for a payoff letter two week later they had not sent the letter When we called about it they stated that it was in the notes but a ticket was never created, and they would fax it, they never did The people over the payoff letters will not even accept incoming calls

I do not have perfect credit and I have been steadily working extremely hard to rebuild itThat reflects strongly in any of the several credit monitoring services I useI have kicked my score up a good points as of late and have been trying to use my credit correctlyI was redirected to their site through another as a perfect fit for my needsI tried to get a small loan from this company and even though I have all the requirements they told me that I still had negative marks on my account and that my score was still too lowNumber one I never gave anyone my full social security number to check my scoreNumber two the fact those marks which only range to 3k has been knocked down over 1k in the past month meant nothingApplication approved was deniedThanks for a hard hit on my credit even though I did not give permission per ss# number written or verbally for you to bust my score back downIts amazing that I make a decent living and have been steadily working on a great credit score over the past few months to be denied a $loanDoctor bills no less

SCAM! DO NOT APPLY! I applied for a loan because Credit Karma told me my chances were high of getting approved and I could consolidate some debtLike everyone else's complaints, they told me I was instantly approved and then called me saying it was for a lower amount because of my incomeI still accepted the offer, and was told I would get my money the next day after submitting ALL my personal info to themLike an itNow there is no money in my account, and they are not answeing my callsDo not fall for this scam of a company! Kal from Minnesota was the person helping meWho knows where they are really located, but I now realize they are probably stealing identities or up to something badNow I have to close my accounts and protect my info, on top of already being stressed over debt! I thought this was an opportunity to rebuild my credit, but now I see they are just taking advantage of those who are already down I've also seen several claims of people having to sign their vehicles over as collateralBEWARE!!!!! I can't believe this has happenedDon't trust recommendations'from just anyone!

We had to get a loan from Springleaf in October of It was a $4,loanWe paid $back within a month and made regular payments from thereWe called in May of to get the pay off it was $We continued making regular paymentsIn July of One Main took overWe continued making regular paymentsI called in January of to see what the payoff was and was told it is $even after paying over $since our last inquiry. My husband called the office and was told we hadn't made a payment since AugustHe then stopped in the office with proof that we had paid and to inquire about why so little was being applied to our loan especially since every payment has been ahead of schedule and the office staff were rude and either could not or would not give him an answerI have never had a loan where paying extra does not reduce the principle owedI wouldn't recommend this company to anyoneWe got the loan because we needed it for an emergency surgery but I would have gone a different route had I known One Main would be taking over the loan

I understand that this is a high interest situation going into this loanMy wife warned me but as guys sometimes do I did it anyway(You know how this story turns out already) We showed up to sign the papers over my lunch break (mistake number 3) So time was limited, the man selling the loan explained that the balance was precomputed meaning that it was the precalculated amount including the interestOKI then specifically asked if I paid larger amounts every month if I would beat some of the interest, he said yes (lie #1)My wife also asked so if we pay it off early we will get around most of the interest, he said you will avoid some interest.(misleading response especially given my previous question.\r\nA few months go by and my payments have been made, more than minimum and some cases double the amount dueHowever the balance was exactly the amounts of my payment, I hardly see that as defeating any interest at all merely bringing the termination of the loan closerI was alarmed and contacted springleaf, the manager contacted me explaining that most of the payments made in the beginning were mostly interestI understand really my car loan is mainly interest in the beginning (this is very misleading info) She assured me that if I stayed on track I would save interestThis is not true based on the method being usedI requested I payoff today, I then requested documentation showing exactly how much of my payments went to principal and interestThe manager contacted me claiming to not be able to do that over email ( I just refinanced my car completely by email with someone else btw..) She stated my payoff amount and it btw is a little more than my principal I believeShe told me that all of the payments were interestShe also stated that I was saving years of interest if I payed off todayBut using the precomputed mumbo jumbo math that is inaccurate as well, months of straight interest, months of principal (based on stated monthly payments) leaves months of payments in my month loanHow exactly is that saving years interest???\r\n\r\nVery dishonest, I\'m sure legal but dishonest because they are vague and misleadingPlease only use as an absolute worst case scenario

Absolutely unorganized and unprofessional! I was told that I qualify and was approved based on the financial information providedThen told days later it was declinedWhen I asked why, I was told it was for incomeWhen I asked to verify what income they based the decision on, it was discovered that my income was input incorrectly by the verification deptI asked to have it reprocessed with the correct income info and please follow-upAfter weeks and several phone calls and unanswered messages, I was finally contacted by the rep who initially assisted meHe sounded very programmed and said, "the information was sent again and its still denied"When I again asked if the correct financial information was used, he repeated the same answerI asked to speak to a supervisorLaura, got on the call and said that some higher manager, who she would not identify other than that, calculated my "budget" and determined that I did not qualify for ANY type of loan! I inquired again how this could be when days before all my information was approvedShe repeated a very calculated answer over and over again, "it was reviewed and the higher manager determined that after going over my budget, I did not qualify"This is the same income information that was given when I initially applied and was told via email and phone I was approved! So why did it take weeks later to say no, especially when everything was submitted and "verified" in a couple days as approved? I was completely dismissed and told that a letter would come in the mailWhen I asked if the letter will indicate the exact reasoning used to determine that a loan, of ANY amount, could not be approved based on my "budget", Laura very rudely said "I've already told you too muchYou just have to wait for the letter to come in the mail!" She was very unprofessional as a supervisor speaking to a consumer, as was the rep that assisted me, ML***An investigation needs to be done on their business practicesThis is ridiculousThis whole situation could have been handled and communicated to a consumer very differentlyThis company is a scam! I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE! Consumers BEWARE!!!

Long story short I paid off my loan in full with a check over $and they closed my accound showing a balance over $and it caused my credit score to drop pointsSo much for this loan / company helping me build my credit

I attempted to use the auto security insurance plan sold by this company and was unable to reach a live person to arrange a tow I tried three times during an hour time waiting from minutes up to minutes on hold with no one answering I finally called a towing service directly and made arrangements and paid I tried several more times to reach a live person at the number on my membership card that evening NO ONE EVER ANSWERED THE PHONE THAT EVENING I called during daytime hours and was connected to a live person fairly rapidly and was given a fax number to which I should submit my receipt for repayment I was told it could take up to days to process If anyone was working that evening (6:to 10:30) at all, it was understaffed...Basically I pay premiums to be frustrated and possibly collect my towing expenses back!

OneMain Financial has absolutely horrible customer service When I took out my loan with OneMain (which, by the way, have extremely high interest rates that they try to hide), they took the title to my car as collateral I didn't like that, but accepted it After I paid back my loan, I was told that my title would be returned to me in - days It took over a month for my title to be returned In that time, my auto plates expired and I was forced to rent a car In addition, I had to pay a fine for being late renewing my tags Had the company been truthful as to how long it would have been to receive my title, I could have taken other avenues to renew tags While waiting for my title, I called the branch several times and could not get any help I was just told that they had no idea why it was taking so long Because of this company, I had to shell out approximately $1400, and they would not take any responsibility for this To make matters worse, the company actually tried to tell me that they did not have my title (after me personally talking to them about sending my title to me) They took absolutely no responsibility for this when they were completely at fault Beware of this company

Just about years ago my wife took a loan from SpringleafAbout a year in, I started managing the payments for my wife, and quickly became very upsetI was very disappointed with how Springleaf positioned loan balance, payoff, and payment information on their paper statements and onlineThey made it seem like you had no options of early payoff and had a set amount to pay for the life of the loanThis layout or structure was to make customers make all payments thus maximizing Springleafs profitsAs a professional within the banking industry, this is just the wrong way to do business and I was so upset with this, I went on to share my negative experience with the Revdex.com After my Revdex.com submission, I was pleasently surprised to receive a phone call from a Vice President in Springleaf Financial SvcI never did reach back out, but she did attempt to contact my wife and I on more than one occasion to discuss the situationThis really showed that Springleaf was empathetic to my concern which we appreciatedAnd just today, when my wife and I were checking the balance for payoff, we noticed some changes to the siteThere was an asterisk next to our loan balanceAnd right next to the loan balance they went on to explain on how payoffs would be calculated and they also had a link to obtain your payoffThis brought a smile to my face!!! It\'s not everyday a successful, large company hears their customers concerns, and acts upon themI know its easy to be skeptical and cam say its just a coincidence, but based upon when I submitted my Revdex.com complaint(6-mosago), I am confident they listened, and took the steps to improve their customer experience In closing, I wanted to say "Thank You" to Springleaf Financial for showing the integrity they did, and look forward to watching your business grow and prosper in the years to come

I was approved for a 2000.00 dollar loan via email, which from the email stated "pending income and identity verification". after going through the process of giving my information to the company they said wait two hours for the underwriters to complete my loan. After I called the company, my loan was denied, without verifying my income or identity. 100% false advertisement and false services. Did not do anything they said as stated in writing.

I called to my local branch and spoke with "Zayn". We went over several things to get started with the loan process including the amount I was requesting of $5000. After he ran my credit and we went over some additional questions he said I was approved for $5000 unsecured and up to $7500 with my car title and stated what the interest rate would be with a secured loan. We scheduled a time for me to come in later that day to finalize the paperwork and decide whether I wanted the $5000 or full $7500. I specifically asked over the phone if I was approved for the loan what the interest rate would be without it being secured, and his exact words were, "Oh you're approved, there's no question about that". I left it at that and decided I would discuss more details when we were face to face as I had to get back to work. When I got to the location I advised Zayn I was not going to go with the title loan, that we can just work the figures based on the unsecured loan. I then asked if the unsecured loan would still be able to get approved for $7500, but if not then we can just stick with the original plan of $5000. I also advised before he walked out to start putting the paperwork together that I did not want ANY of the insurance. He said are you sure? Is your job going to cover you if you're out of work 30 days or more? I said yeah I'm sure. I will be covered, I don't need the insurance. He said okay and left the room. Moments later he came in to tell me what my monthly payment would be and to again tell me that one of the insurances would only cost an additional $5 more to the monthly payment and was I sure I didn't want it? I again said no. He asked if the monthly due date of the first payment would be okay on January 15th? I said fine. He left again and then came back minutes later to only tell me I wasn't approved for $5000 but for only $3000. All this after you've already ran my credit, taken my paycheck stub, and told me I was approved for $5000 as well as other details...???? At that point I advised him I would just take my business elsewhere. I don't need lies and the runaround. If you want to deny a loan because someone doesn't purchase your insurance let's not treat people like they're stupid. Funny thing is, there's a note plastered on their walls that specifically states you ARE NOT required to get the insurance and getting your loan or not isn't based on that decision. HaHa. They must have gotten accused of this before and are TRYING to cover their butts!! Save yourself the trouble.

I do not have perfect credit and I have been steadily working extremely hard to rebuild it. That reflects strongly in any of the several credit monitoring services I use. I have kicked my score up a good 30 points as of late and have been trying to use my credit correctly. I was redirected to their site through another as a perfect fit for my needs... I tried to get a small loan from this company and even though I have all the requirements they told me that I still had negative marks on my account and that my score was still too low. Number one I never gave anyone my full social security number to check my score. Number two the fact those marks which only range to 3k has been knocked down over 1k in the past month meant nothing. Application approved was denied. Thanks for a hard hit on my credit even though I did not give permission per ss# number written or verbally for you to bust my score back down. Its amazing that I make a decent living and have been steadily working on a great credit score over the past few months to be denied a $2000 loan. Doctor bills no less.

Hi there I just want to inform you guys I am very disappointed in the result I got. I apply for loan on line . Got APPROVED
"APPROVED", not pre-approved or pre-qualified it say "APPROVE" there is a difference and I don't think the staff at that location understand that. I call your Sacramento, branch located on

First of I want to say the gal I was talking to was nice.

But disappointed because at first she mention I was qualified for $3000, I was excited, we went over my income etc. Then she mention do I have a vehicle. I told her Yes I do, and then all suddenly , if I don't put up my car for collateral then I don't qualified for the loan anymore.
I mean are you serious I was just qualified like 4 min ago and then she start talking "well I don't make enough for the $3000 of my income of $3700 a month. I don't get it I was just qualified a min ago with out putting my car up for collateral. I then ask her will okay then can she qualified me for a lower amount because I don't want to put my car for collateral. It never mention on your website I have to. I got approved with out it and then all suddenly it change now. I feel that is a rip off and unprofessional. I was approved and then all of suddenly I'm not.
Its not like Im asking for a $5000, I'm only asking for $2500 to $3000.
I thought your website mention to help out others in need, well I guess it a mis advertise, if your office is going to add on a car collateral you might want to mention that on your website because and she mention do I have life insurance, what does my life insurance have to do with my loan.

I summit a email to [redacted]@springleaf.com but haven't heard anything yet.

Also it affect my credit history, a hard inquires.

Like many before me in these reviews, I was lead to believe that I was going to be helped. I was simply looking to consolidate debt, clear some items off my credit so I could obtain a career for a government agency.
In February 2016, I got laid off from the oil fields. I spent the last five years utilizing that career to build my credit and did so. I achieved a 710 credit score from a 580 in the short 5 years. after I got laid off, I missed ONE payment to a credit card company [redacted] they closed my card down and sent me to collections. I lost 120 points on my credit.
needless to say, I was very disappointed. so I began to look around for help, to clear some of my current debts, and clear the rest of what was left on my credit from past issues. After being denied several times for a loan to help me consolidate. Springleaf stated they would do everything they could to help me.....well it only took them less than 24 hrs to tell me they cant help me because of the debt that I currently seek help to eliminate....seems like a catch 22 to me. So, I will pass the word around NOT to use this company. They are frauds. Thank you springleaf for becoming part of the problem (hard credit inquiry), and not the resolution that I'd hoped for.

Since November 2005 my mother made monthly payments to an account in a timely manner in the amount of $9,327.00. The original credit limit was set at $2,300, but of course, after fees, charges and interest, her debt started at $2,337.43. In the eleven years that my mother has been repaying this debt, a minuscule amount of each payment was applied to the principal, and more that 85% of each loan payment was consumed as interest and fees. I wrote to inform Springleaf that my mother had fallen on hard times and was not able to make any further payments to this account. My mother is an 86 year old widow whose memory has deteriorated to the extent that she can no longer support herself or live on her own. She doesn't even remember the circumstances surrounding this loan. Springleaf threatened her with sending this debt onto a collection agency. I don't know what laws exist that say this is okay when it's simply loansharking made legal.
