Avis Car Rental

First, they tried to charge me because my flight was canceled and I was late picking up the vehicle. Then they tried to charge me because there was dirt in the car and they had to sweep it out. Do not use this company.

Her $is pretty paultry at first, but muliply that by the 100s or 1000s of people all over the world that Avis has done the same thing tooThat would give them control of immense sums of money for their company to draw from free of chargeThey need to make sure their customers are aware that their reservation can be canceled and their money kept if they don't have a "major" credit cardWhat constitutes what makes a credit card "major"?Why can't they refund electronically just like they did when they approved her car rental? Unfortunately we are not able to override the credit check. I did provide all the information she needed to get a refund, I apologized but unless she had a major credit card we could not rent.

Her $211.64 is pretty paultry at first, but muliply that by the 100s or 1000s of people all over the world that Avis has done the same thing too. That would give them control of immense sums of money for their company to draw from free of charge. They need to make sure their customers are aware that their reservation can be canceled and their money kept if they don't have a "major" credit card. Absolutly Terrible. Flying into Central WI airport the plane was delayed several hours. The Avis/Budget rental facility at the airport raised their prices for rental to over three times their advertised price. I had to rent a car as I was there for business and they stayed open to rent vehicles for the plane. They had plenty of cars to rent, but mostly economy style. They charged me $150 per day for a Chevy Sonic. When they reviewed the price was well after I signed the agreement. I called them back asking if it was a typo and they said no and that it is the right price. They also said they reserve the right to change the price without notice. I felt complet;y taken advantage of due to the situation of the plane being delayed. They do not advertise those rates they were charging and they refused to adjust the price to a normal amount. They took advantage of a delayed plane, stayed open well past closing so that they were the only option and tripled the prices. I will never use them again nor will I ever recommend them to anyone.
