Bag Borrow or Steal Reviews (28)

Dear customer, We sincerely apologize for your recent experience with us. The item in question, you had originally rented from us in November 2008. In December you were able to purchase the item at a discounted rate. Upon receiving your submission to sale the item back to us, the offer given to you...

was based off of the images and description you listed.  Though we do our best to be as accurate as possible, all offers are contingent upon final inspection at our Fashion House to allow for things we cannot for see. In this case, when we received the item in person, it was noticed that the overall condition and wear no longer met our condition standards. It was not in regards to any refurbishment that may had been done to the item in the past, but the current overall condition including the exterior & interior.  We do often buy back items originally purchased from us however ALL items that we purchase through this program are dependent upon the current condition of the item(s).  We have high condition standards because we are re-selling to our customers and want to provide the best previously owned products. Overall, we do apologize that we were not able to accept your item but do thank you for your understanding. All the best, BBOS team

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
The company advertised the sale of a purse and I accepted their offer to buy it. I paid the asking price and was emailed a receipt of purchase as well as a receipt for shipping. It was I who went to great lengths to inform the company that I had discovered that the purse they were sending me was not the one for which I had contracted. According to Contract law they had offered to sell a purse, I accepted and provided them with the necessary "consideration" or payment for said item. If they had made a mistake, to be blunt, that is really not my problem. I should still be awarded the item for which I contacted or an item of equal value (which would be another purse of my choosing with an MSRP of approximately $1500.00 and a retail price of $725.00 which was the MSRP and retail value of the purse for which I contracted). A $25.00 credit does not come close to making me "whole" for a mistake that the company made. This error was not my fault and I am the one who is out a purse valued at $725.00, for which I had contracted.
Mr. G[redacted] has shown nothing but bad faith in his dealings with me. I singlehandedly discovered the problem and attempted to resolve it without the least bit of help or responsiveness from Mr. G[redacted]. I had to call several times over the course of several days in order to get a response and it was I who instructed an associate (Jovan) in his customer service department to have the purse that they had sent to me rerouted to them. If not for my persistence, I would have been sent a purse that I had never seen or wanted and the onus would have been on me to mail it back. I contracted to buy a purse worth, according to their site, $725.00, and with my coupon, it was to cost me $168.00 They made a mistake, attempted to pawn off a purse valued at $210.00 in its place and want me to be satisfied with a $25.00 credit??!!! That is an unconscionable and insulting response to my irritation and aggravation and does not serve as satisfactory compensation for THEIR error. Why  would anyone ever purchase an item from this company when they do not stand by their listings and will nullify a transaction at their discretion with insufficient compensation to their customers?

Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: This handbag was purchased less than 3 months ago. Clearly there was no quality control of the product if the leather around the strap ripped so shortly after being purchased. "Pre-loved" or not, the handbag should not have been sold on your site, with all of the descriptives being noted as superficial, when really it is unusable.  I brought the bag to my local cobbler who told me that it can not be fixed. I refuse to take your suggestion to go to a local department store to pay for repair when I already spent close to $800 less than 3 months ago. Policy or not, I believe that I am owed a refund. No consumer should have to pay close to $800 for a product that failed them in such a short period of time. Sincerely,[redacted]

I did not give my consent for a credit check to be done on me when I placed the order. It is fraudulent to perform a credit check without obtaining permission. I did not give my SS# so how was a credit check done?
