Bainbridge & Knight Laboratories Reviews (33)

Review: I received an offer on [redacted] for a free trial. When requesting to return this product for a refund of the $99.99 that they charge me twice for I explained that nowhere did it say that I was signing up for a membership or to be charged for this product. I was under the impression I was getting a sample of the product and only had to pay shipping. I have been given a refund for one but not the other and I would like my money back and to return their product. The young lady she could only refund one and it would post upon receipt of the product. and that the terms and conditions where there when I put in my cc info. I did not see such a thing hence why I thought it was a sample. I picked up the product and did not open the product until coming back from a trip so I was not aware it was a full product inside. Im pretty good about reading all the stuff so I was really surprised by this. The address for this company was [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would just like to return the product and receive my other refund back. The products are unopen and are ready for return.

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by Bainbridge & Knight Laboratories regarding complaint ID [redacted]. However I have found someone who wanted to try their product and have passed it on to them. I was just not interested in having more than a sample and did not see the "credit card notice" when checking out with my cc This should be stated way upfront that it is a memebership to enroll in their product. It is "scammy" and not a good way to do business in my opinion.

Sincerely,

Review: This company will not refund my money 100% after returning my unused portion. I wait on hold for over 20 minutes everytime I call. No one will let you speak to a manager. the VP name listed on the website has had a "Full Mailbox" since March. It is SUCH a scam! I received a 50% refund after my fourth phone call. I don't have the time to sit on hold and exchange banter with these so called customer service agents any longer. I will spread the word EVERYWHERE possible to share my experience with this shady, pathetic company.

Review: I had bought a package of the Lichi Super Fruit Super Probiotic product at a local drugstore. When I opened the box, I noticed that 2 of the sealed capsules looked like they were broken or tainted. I tried calling customer service and the front line help did not seem to know what to do with a problem like this. To say that I was surprised was an understatement. After more frustrating conversation, I finally got a manager on the line who said there was nothing they could do. They refused to tell me their full names and where I was calling or if they were even employees of this company. I then tried calling management contacts that were listed on the web for Bainbridge & Knight. One phone number was not working and the other number had its voice mail filled so you could not leave messages.Desired Settlement: I would like the way they do business to be changed that if there is a defective or tainted product that they stand behind their product and replace it at no charge. These people should be allowed to do business unless they change their customer service people and protocol.

Review: I wasn't aware of a sample and was charhe'd for a product that I did not want to continue with and charhed me 119.99 amd now corporate is apparently denying full refund on a product that I discontinued.Desired Settlement: I want my full refund onto my debit card od $119.99 or ill be forced to contact an attorny and I would prefer not too..

Review: I purchased merchandise based on a trial offer and was charged without notice or agreement only 10 days after receiving the websites trial offer. Since there wasn't any company contact information in the shipping box nor email correspondence, I had to hunt this company down just to find customer service information. I finally received a return authorization number and shipped the item back for a full refund. UPS confirmed delivery and I had to call the company to notify them the product was received so that they could credit my account. I had to call them a week later to ask why there was a delay in my credit. I was told it could take a month. Three weeks have gone by since the initial return so I called yet again. The company gave me a fake transaction number for the credit to my account that my bank never received. Now [redacted] wants me to send my bank statement, I would be happy to prove there wasn't a credit except that I don't think this sounds legal to request bank statements for a product return! Please help and get this terrible company off the market.Desired Settlement: My promised return refund credit in the amount of $99.99 to the account that was used for the purchase.

Review: They say they have a product for you to TRY. You pay just shipping and if you don't like or are unable to use it than just call a number [redacted] and they will NOT send you any more of the product. However when you call they tell you to call back later..... and then later again. Than if you don't send it back and YOU pay the postage they will charge your credit card a $129.99 plus shipping and handling of $9.95 they will send you another one with the same charges. This is a rip off. I now have to go and close my acct at my bank that I have had to over 20 years just to be sure they won't keep charging me for a product that makes my face turn beet red.Desired Settlement: Make them stop doing this to others. Life is hard enough in this economy to worry about others getting duped by these people. What else can I do to stop them?? Let me know if I have to just toss this or pay to send it back as they requested. They give me 2 or 3 days to do this and it's because they think they can bully you. Please answer soon.

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by Bainbridge & Knight Laboratories regarding complaint ID [redacted]. But it is ok cause I went to the bank and closed the credit card down. I sent the product back and made sure they can't charge another fee to it. What a mess huh? And I sent it back needing a signature and that was done. It just was a little costly for me anyway. Thanks for following up on this.

Sincerely,

Review: I did a survey on the computer and was given a suppose to be a free gift just had to pay shipping did this received the gift discovered that in a months time I would be billed approximately 130.00 + 9.99 for shipping again.called to cancel and was told to return my so called free gift so now it has cost me 4 dollars to get my free gift but now I have to pay to ship it back to them..There has to be something wrong with this there must be some protection for the public regarding these companies.Desired Settlement: I want my shipping charges replaced and there must be away to stop these companies from doing this imagine what they are making off innocent people

Review: My daughter ordered their Super Fruit product without my knowledge and when I found out, I returned the merchandise and asked for the refund on the product. I changed my Debit card number but it was still attached to the same bank account and the company should have had no problem refunding the money to the new card. The order number was [redacted], return #[redacted], USPS Tracking #[redacted]. The returned merchandise was received on July **, 2013. I have since made numerous calls every month to the Customer Service Department and have been told that my refund would be in my account within two to three weeks on every occasion. I have contacted my bank to verify if there has been any attempt to refund the money to my old card or my new card and there has been none.Desired Settlement: I am due a 99.99 refund and I would like it returned to my debit card as soon as possible. Thank you.

Review: The company never issued a refund for the product I returned. They then charged my credit card on 4/**/13, 5/**/13, and then again on 5/**/13. I returned the 2nd 2 packages, unopened, and contacted the company after the first delivery to have the shipments stopped. The company's customer service said they would stop the deliveries, and issue a refund. Two more shipments came anyway, and no credit was ever issued!Desired Settlement: I would like my 3 payments of $99.99, refunded, for a total of $299.97

Review: Ordered free month of trial. My mistake to give credit card information to pay for shipping. Tried did not work. 3 weeks later received more in mail opened box no invoice or billing info so just put to side and thought they sent by mistake. 2 weeks later I balanced my checking account and there was a 99.99 charge with a number. My bank said I had to take it up with company. I called on may [redacted] and they said in fine print after 14 days I had to cancel but there was another shipment on its way. WAs informed to send back when I received and they would cancelled from that point forward. I sent first shipment back at post office but had to pay $ since tape on box was broke. The next shipment was sent back (which I also have a receipt from post office. I called June * and l gave lady both label numbers and she said they recvd the box I had opened and a credit would go to my account. She said they had not received the box I sent back that was not open. On June[redacted] I called and the guy told me they can not give me a refund on box I sent back unopened and has no idea where it would b cause they dispose of. I told him if they got 99.99 out of that shipment to send it back. He said he cannot do that

Review: Because they advertised the product so much thorough social networks, I have seen their website before. However, I have never ordered any product from them. They sent me a product I have not ordered. They charged me almost $100 for the product I don't want. I went to the bank and I changed my card number and account number. I am going to send the product I got back to them pretty soon. Of course I tried to contact them, but they never, ever respond.Desired Settlement: I have never ordered the product from them. I have no idea how they got my credit card information, but I believe this is a crime. I want them to give my money back to me.

Review: On June **, 2013 I ordered a Free trial of Lichi Superfruit from this company. The only thing I should have been charged for was shipping and handling which was $7.94 Today is June **, 2013 and I have been charged $99.99 for the product. Now, nowhere did it say that I needed to call and cancel anything on the checkout window when I ordered this. I tried to email their customer service but the email was rejected. I then tried to email their sales vice president [redacted] and I received an automated email response saying that my email was once again denied because the email user's mailbox was full! I called customer service and they told me that I was signed up for an automated shipping program that I never signed myself up for. There was no window that popped up and asked me about this program, so apparently I was automatically signed up for it when I ordered my free trial. The woman at customer service told me that I could not cancel my order and get a refund because it has been over 14 days since I ordered this product. I looked at the fine print on a different window than the one I ordered the trial product from and in the fine print it says "We will consider the end date for your trial period to be 19 days after you place your order, which is 14 days". It has been 15 days since I ordered, my product didn't show up at my home until a week ago, and I have been billed. The customer service woman did give me a $50 refund after I kept pressing the issue for about 10 minutes, but I feel like I should get my full refund. I have read reviews of this happening to other people as well.Desired Settlement: I would like the FULL refund of $99.99 instead of just $50.00. This company needs to work on their advertising and underlying charges. A window should pop up and they should not automatically sign customers up for programs. Also, if they say that after 19 days they will charge the customer, then they need to stick to their word. Something needs to be done.

Review: I (regrettably) bought into their free trial of the Lichi Super Food. My card was charged $7.94 (which I authorized for shipping and handling). I then see another 24 cent charge to my card (not authorized and I have no idea what for). I have not received any product, but I started really digging into the reviews of this company. The majority have had negative experiences with no final resolution. I promptly called the company to cancel my free trial only to find out that IF I receive the product, I need to send it back (at my own expense) AND the shipping/handling will not be reimbursed. That's fine but it is NOT what is reflected on their website. I tried calling and emailing both of the people listed on their site but both emails were returned to sender. Trial Product Program Details FROM THEIR WEBSITE:: IIn order to activate your trial you will pay shipping and handling fee of $5.99 for a 14 day trial supply of the 30 day supply of Lichi Super Fruit 90-Count Dietary Supplement, Lichi Super Probiotic, Lichi Appetite Supressant Chews, Lichi 6-Day Cleanse and Lichi Meal Replacement (Collectively called “Lichi”) to be shipped to your door. This transaction will appear on your statement as BKL*TryLichi ###-###-#### .You will receive an extra 16 days of product to provide you with enough prior to receiving your following shipment should you decide to continue with the program. We typically ship all orders the day of, or the day after you place your order (except that orders placed Friday-Sunday will be shipped the following Monday). To be clear we are giving you 14 days to try the product. We consider the end date for your trial period to be 14 days after you place your order. You may contact our customer service department to cancel your 14 day trial within [14] days of ordering the product, otherwise you will continue with our Lichi Leisure Ship Plan, which is described below. If you wish to cancel the 14 day trial, you are not required to return any products to the Company. If you ever have any questions on your trial or the membership program simply call ###-###-####Desired Settlement: Ideally, I'd like a full refund and an explanation of what the extra charge is on my credit card. I'd also like to know why they don't honor their policy on their website.

Review: I ordered a "risk-free trial" of a vitamin supplement, Lichi Super Fruit, and was only supposed to pay for the shipping of $4.95 - there was no mention of any international shipping fees/charges. I was charged the $4.95 and a percentage of that for the international fee. No where does the website state that it is coming from outside of the U.S. It took quite a while for me to actually receive the product. I called last week when I logged onto my bank account and saw that I was charged an additional $99.99 from this company. I contacted the Lichi Super Fruit customer service - the guy I spoke to was pretty friendly and he offered to extend my trial since I had only had the product in my possession for a week and offered me a $25.00 refund. Later I called back and spoke to someone else. I told him I wanted to cancel any further charges and shipments and that I wanted to send the product back and receive a full refund. He told me he could not do this. He said that when I agreed to take the $25.00 refund earlier that I was agreeing to keep the product. This was never how it was explained to me. I told him after the trial is over and if I do not see results and am not happy with this product then I should be able to get my money back as this was advertised as a "risk-free trial". The ad that I ordered from was on Women's Health Six - the link stated "Click Here To Get A Free Trial Of Lichi Super Fruit". He told me I could not get my money back if I am not satisfied. I started getting angry with this guy and asked for a supervisor. I received the response "there currently is no supervisor available" - I said "of course there isn't....you mean to tell me there is NOT any supervisor?" He responded with "No, he is in a meeting". My response was "Of course he's in a meeting...does this supervisor have a voicemail?"- and I was told no, he did not. I then proceeded to tell him that I work for a law firm in downtown Minneapolis and if I had to I would get one of my attorneys that I work for involved in this. He immediately put me on hold and came back and said that he tried to get his supervisor from the meeting but unfortunately he could not leave the meeting. He told me all he could do for me was give me an additional $25.00 refund - I agreed to this for the time being because at this point I was willing to take all that I could get back from this company. I told him that this company is just a bunch of scammers and I don't get how they can get away with this. Bait and switch if you ask me. There are ads portraying it as one thing and it's something completely different that they don't disclose! I looked at the terms & conditions and it says in their return policy "You have a 100% satisfaction guarantee on Lichi and this auto-ship program. If you are not satisfied with the products you purchase we will provide a full reimbursement of the product cost, regardless of how much of the product you used. You can return the empty bottle for a full refund of the purchase price minus shipping and handling."

Also, I would like them to know that there was a cleanse pill offered in conjunction with the Lichi trial and that company only charged me for the shipping of the bottle to me...they were kind when I called them to cancel. She offered to discount the product to me and when I said no just cancel she said that they would like me to call back at any time if I change my mind and want the product again. I got to keep the bottle they sent me (hence the "free trial") and they are not charging me for anything other than the initial shipping that I paid. This makes a consumer feel confident about going back to this company and purchasing through them. Lichi on the other hand, does not. Horrible customer service...especially the second guy I talked to - down right RUDE! I will never order from this company again (Bainbridge & Knight Laboratories AND/OR Lichi). I will spread the word unless Lichi/Bainbridge makes right on this. I will post consumer complaints more than just on the Revdex.com - I will make it known that this is a scam.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of everything they have charged me, including the undisclosed "International Shipping Fee"(s), (except for the 4.95 shipping that I agreed to) and no further billing/shipments!!!!!!

Review: Company has billed me without permission and has promised me refund for months now but I have seen nothing.Desired Settlement: Give me my money.

Review: After purchasing the "Free Trial" offer and being charger $4.95 for shipping and receiving the product I was then charged $99.99. I called the company and they told me as soon as I returned the item they would issue my refund since they have a "30 day money back gaurentee". I called on July **, 2013 to verify they had received my package. They confirmed it had been received and issued my refund. After a week had passed the refund was still not issued to my bank account. I placed another phone call and was told to give it until the end of the week. Which I did. After still not getting the refund I called again, this time being asked to fax a bank statement, which I did and contact again in order to make sure that the fax had gone through. After giving it the weekend and still not being contacted I called again this time asking to speak with the financial department. I was told there was no way to contact them. I then asked to speak with a supervisor, was denied again, and finally asked for the manager, and was once again denied. The person informed me that it was the banks fault and they were holding the money and I needed to contact them I contacted the bank and conducted a conference call with the company. The bank informed the representative that there had been no refund issued and that the bank was not holding any money. We were once again denied when asked to speak with a supervisor but the [redacted] representative was providing us information that she had "spoken with her manager about". When asked when the refund would be issued the response was "normally 3-5 business day", we once again informed them and verified by the bank representative that there had been no refund given. The answer then changed to 1-2 billing cycles but we were told that the company had "30 days to refund the money", which was suppose to be processed on July [redacted]. No one has contacted me from the financial department or management. An email has been sent to the marketing rep[resentative with no reply either. As of today there are 10 days left in their 30 refund time frame and still no refund has been issued.Desired Settlement: I would like a "full refund" as I was initially told by the representative and it processed within a timely manner

Review: I thought I was agreeing to purchase a one time only purchase for one bottle of supplements for only the cost of shipping and handling. They continued to bill me four times, sometimes twice a month. Each fee was $99. Also charged me $99 for a trial period that I was in no way aware that I was signing up for. I only wanted the initial bottle of product . That's it. I was not aware that they would continue to charge me at least once a month for product that was supposedly sent to me and never was. They only provided me with three tracking numbers. One stated that it was shipped to another address other than mine. They also refuse to issue me a full refund. I have only received a partial refund. I want a full refund as I was not aware of a trial period and I never agreed to be billed several times for product I never wanted, never signed up for, and never received. I only ever received the first bottle and I was only ever aware that I would be receiving that product. This is a fraudulent business that needs to be stopped.Desired Settlement: I want all of my money back. They owe me another $300.00. So far they have only offered me 50% back.

Review: I called in to this company and spoke with the supposed highest customer service manager at the location - the gentleman [redacted], was extremely rude speaking to me with sarcastic remarks and telling me information was clearly on the website when it was not.I ordered the trial product on 3/**, and was charged $7.94 on 4/* which was authorized. I called for a refund of $99.99 that was charged to me without my authorization on 4/**. The company states that I did not call in within the 14 day time frame stated on the website that I had to try this product. There was no where clearly on the website that stated this information when I ordered. I did not receive the product until 7 days later, which basically would have then given me 7 days to test the product. I took the product for about a week and had found that every morning I became extremely nauseous within an hour of taking the pills so I stopped and they have been sitting in my cabinet ever since. I disputed the charge that initially occurred on 4/** with my bank and was then notified 2 months later that I did not cancel this supposed trial that I had 14 days to cancel. The merchant was notified of my unhappiness within the 30day money back guarantee that is on their website, but clearly I was not notified until way after this time period so they refuse to refund me. The supposed highest manager was absolutely not customer friendly, laughed at me when I asked for a refund, and when I said I wanted to speak to his manager told me there was no one over him, and would not give me the owners name or contact information, saying that would be like trying to get a hold of [redacted] - not gonna happen. Absolutely RUDE. This company should be shut down for the lack of interest in their customers and for the lack of concern that their product actually made me sick to my stomach.Desired Settlement: I want my $99.99 refunded. I clearly accept the $7.94 that I authorized the company to charge to my credit card. I did not authorize $99.99 to my account, and I did not agree to any future subscription. If I had authorized the $99.99 then I would still be getting this monthly pill subscription and I am not, I have not received anything since the initial trial that I requested.

Review: I was sent the trial offer when I was out of town and hadn't been able to even try it when they already sent me another shipment. I immediately got the runaround and the girl I spoke with gave me a discount but refused to cancel the shipments. I find this unacceptable. When you call to cancel, they should cancel. I tried it and my skin broke out in large red that took 3 weeks to heal. They were disfiguring and embarrassing for me to be seen by others. And they had already sent me another shipment. This shipment did not include the flyer with their # on it so I didn't know where to call. I didn't know what to do. I thought it was improper for a shipment to be sent to you without any way to contact the sender. I returned the 2 shipments to them in the same box and included a note asking them to cancel. They did not do this which is not only unacceptable but obtuse. I don't care what your policy is, these are poor business practices for dealing with customers. I think they should take some responsibility for for not providing the # to be able to cancel following their policies and also not allowing someone to cancel when they cal to cancel.Desired Settlement: Full refund of all monies, about $300. All unopened product has been returned (everything but the original trial offer). They have their product, so I should be able to get my money back as it says on the bottom of their flier, "We are committed to 100% satisfaction and are dedicating our efforts to earn your continued support." I am not only dissatisfied with their product, I feel damaged from having to heal for 3 weeks for it and the embarrassment that caused.

Review: This company advertised for a weight loss supplement on [redacted]. They advertised for a free trial of their lichi super fruit weight loss supplement, the trial was free along with a five dollar shipping charge, for which they needed credit card information. I attempted to read the registration and offer terms carefully to ensure I would not be stuck in an ongoing contract and my credit card would not be billed with any unauthorized charges. I did not see or expressly agree to any charges or ongoing shipments above the five dollar amount. Since the original order in April, I have been sent two additional shipments and been charged $100 for each shipment. They company has a website for this product: http[redacted] I have repeatedly attempted to use all of the listed contacts on the website to get these orders cancelled and my credit card reimbursed but all of the email address automatically return the email and the phone number does not work. Further, I suppose I must have set up some account which is why they continue to send emails to my [redacted] email address but every time I attempt to login in order to cancel these shipments I am told by the website that there is no account under that email. Because of this, I have been unable to enter the account to even update my address, as these shipments are being sent to an address where I no longer live. Finally, after unable to contact the emails or phones listed on that specific website, I went directly to the Bainbridge & Knight Laboratories website to submit a complaint/ comment. I have not yet received a response. I feel like a complete fool for setting this up in the first place, I don't know how many other women across the country are getting charged $100/ month for these pills and are unable to stop the orders. I have no idea what else to do in order to get these shipments stopped.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $200 they have charged my account so far and I would like all future shipments and charges to cease. If they are unable to refund the month of May that is acceptable, as long as they cancel the current shipment and refund the charge on my credit card from June **.
