Revdex.com: I have reviewed the? response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint? While I accept Terrell A/C's claim that the Labor Warranty was only for year and had expired and that the company had no obligation to conduct any further labor for free, my overall complaint still standsUnder warranty or not, Terrell A/C's failure to respond to phone calls and texts in request of service is unbecoming of a "Better Business"It was late August in Houston and my house was without air conditioningBeing unable to reach the company that installed the system is unacceptable and should result in a demerit on Terrell A/C's Revdex.com grade Regards, [redacted] ?

Ok first of all we had a problem with the above named customer after the installation was completed, we made sure that the leak that was associated with the problem was repaired with no cost to the customer months agoNow I have the invoice present now and the total price was $and that
included a circuit board for the downstairs furnaceI have no idea where $came none the less heater installmentsWe only installed evaporator coils and condensing units including thermostats and a circuit board for the downstairs furnace now with that being said the customer has chosen to argue with the fact of really being upset with a heater not working that we replaced nothing inWe replaced evap coils and condensing units, thermostats and a circuit board on the downstairs furnace again being saidIm just really curious to know if the problem occurred 6/15/why did we get called in December then also, not saying its not possible, but in Houston or Pasadena in June its always above 90degreesOur apologies for any inconvenience againWe can not stay in business if our customers want to extend warranty to what they or another contractor saysthanks

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint
My reason for rejection was that they replaced the circuit board for the faulty unit and did not check the Heater part of the unit in which the board that controls was replacedI have used another company to fix the issue which cost me $in which I believe the party that was paid to repair the unit initially should be responsible forThe contractor never called me back, never even tried to resolve the issue and that's why I contacted youLast time I had an issue and the unit could not keep up, I had to go through The Revdex.com to get something resolved as well because he didn't return my calls then either

*** ***....I think this is a terrible play of business...ive gotten my oil changed at professional garages...I think we will stick to those places..and inform our neighbors and friends where not to go..I have had issues with ooor service from this place before...im glad we live in the age of social media...to get the word out on crappy places like this...these guys bad mouth their on repairs I had a value stem break and replaced by these guys...the replacement Failed ..I brought it back...the guy said it was just a "st part"..And thats why it failed...well...they are the ones who put it in...whatever wont be getting any further money from me...and everyone else I can tell this story to

Dear *** ***,Please see the attached contract that the customer signed before any work was performed. On page in the signature box, it states 'One year guarantee against potholes.' (This is all that I need to present & the matter should be resolved We have done nothing
wrong.) On page it states no warranty against erosion, minor cracking, settlement, or sinking. She knows there was a one year warranty but is upset that she allowed a roofing dumpster to be placed on the driveway and she now feels we did sub-par work Quite frankly I'm surprised there aren't four depressions in the driveway from the dumpster, we see it all the time in this business. Please don't hesitate to contact me if any further action is needed.Sincerely,John P***PresidentCollegiate Sealers & Paving###-###-####***@collegiatesealers.com

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I appreciate their response and understand completely with what they are expressing However our problem remains that our driveway was NOT repaired correctly the first time or we would not have had this issue and they are not willing to stand behind their work They are quite frankly hiding behind their warranty I understand there are terms for a warranty but there are always exceptions and when the work is not done correctly the first time then this should be one of those exceptions They are simply not a business that strives to keep their customers satisfied as their phone message implies

May 21,
To Whom It
May Concern,
On July
27, 2011, Collegiate Sealers and Paving paved *** ***’s driveway for
$2,(not $4,as stated in the complaint)In November we
received a call from *** *** with concerns regarding settling near the
concrete apronAlthough we do not warranty settling, a manager stopped by to
evaluate the situationWhen the manager evaluated the driveway, he noticed
that due to a poorly poured concrete apron a low spot was forming in the
asphaltThis was explained to *** *** and he stated he understood
At that
time, part of our paving service included a free seal one year after the
driveway was installed*** *** scheduled his free sealcoating for July
25, When this appointment was made, no concern regarding the driveway was
brought up
On April
22, 2013, Collegiate Sealers and Paving sealed the driveway and filled the area
between the concrete and asphalt at no additional chargeFilling the gap
between the asphalt and the concrete is something we do not normally do,
however an exception was made for *** ***.
*** *** was still not happy with the crack filler, so on April 25,
2013, our crew dropped off a jug of crack filler, free of charge, to allow *** *** to fill the cracks as neededEach time *** *** spoke with a
manager it was explained that we have done everything we could do to prevent
the minor settlingWe feel we have done everything within reason to
accommodate *** ***’s concerns
Our
records indicate that we had no contact with *** *** in
Please
note, our estimate clearly states we only have a one year warranty against
potholesIt does not cover settling or cracking
At this
point there is nothing more we can do to help *** *** with the minor
settling in his driveway
Thank you,

Sent: Tuesday, November 07, 9:AMSubject: Re: Revdex.com complaint id *** ? We at Terrell ac and Heating sincerely apologize for any problems with any equipment, first and foremost we installed brand new equipment, out of the box, home owner was there and saw, then? we offer 5yr war on
parts and 1yr war on laborA technician was sent when the system was obviously out of labor war and a leak was found and repaired at no chargeThen I was made aware of another problem which I texted personally with the home owner and explained I would come personally after a medical procedure I underwent but he obviously hired another contractor which voids our contractsorry for any problems but we tried to be as fair as possibleour labor war was expired we never charged homeowner for labor ?

I would be willing to split the cost of oil cap $5.14

The customer is asking us to warranty the work for longer than the warranty that was agreed upon when she signed the contract.  Please understand that there is a reason our warranty is for one year against potholes (not depressions, cracks, or any other issues).  Asphalt is a relatively soft material compared to concrete or paver blocks.  A major factor in the stability of an asphalt surface lies in the ground on which it is constructed and we have no control over that.  Asphalt driveways typically have a 4” base of 21A stone and a 2.5” layer of asphalt on top.  We cannot determine if the ground underneath the base has soft spots or if there are underground water issues.  When we remove the asphalt, we address any visible low spots and roll & compact the base prior to placing the new asphalt (as it states in the contract), this is all we can do.  The option to repair the area where the small depression is located would involve cutting out the area and repaving it.  We don’t recommend it because:1) The patch will be much more noticeable than the small depression.  We cannot cut into asphalt, repair it, and make it look as if nothing was done.2) It’s expensive work.  Our minimum charge to mobilize a paving crew is $1,700. I can understand her being upset, but I do not understand the expectation for us to warranty the work for more than what is stated on the contract.
